2 comments about Lightship Baskets of Nantucket.
- I took a class by Martha Two yrs. ago that was great to. It was at the MBA in Grand Rapids MI. The book is just as good if not better. The history is something I always wanted to know about . Thank You Martha for such a wonderful book . C. M. Miller Bay City MI.
- I bought this book after taking classes in making lightship baskets locally, and must admit that without it I would not have been able to continue making them at home. The history of the baskets is excellent, and colored photographs of baskets as well as the island of Nantucket are numerous throughout the book. If you are at all interested in baskets, this book is a must!

3 comments about Baskets from Nature's Bounty.
- The author's love of nature makes pleasurable reading. Excellent guide to collection and preparation of natural materials. A very good addition to a basket maker's library. Quick and easy referenc
- This is one of the best books I have ever used on making baskets using recorces available to us in nature. It gives a complete list of different plants that can be used, where they can be found, the time of year to gather them, and how to prepare and dye them. There is also step by step instructions on different projects like coiling, twining and plaiting that one can make with the materials just gathered. I highly reccomend this book to anyone interrested in basketry or natural fibers
- If you want to make baskets from local materials (any locality). Jensen tells you what to look for, how to prepare it and how to make a basket with it. Several techniques, many materials. Everything except bamboo and cane.

1 comments about Rug Weaver's Source Book.
- This is a very useful book for anybody who is new to weaving rugs. Each chapter is written by a weaving artist/craftsperson who specializes in a particular weave structure for a specific type of rug. There are patterns with drafts and guidelines and tips for mastering the required techniques for each type of rug. Occasionally, an author might deter a beginner from attempting a rug, considering that some of the material is difficult to work with. It is up to the newbey whether or not they wish to go ahead and weave that rug, anyway, particularly those rugs requiring linen warps. There is a rug for everybody in this book and a rug for every part of the house. The colour photo illustrations are very inspirational and there is a nice little bio of each author.

2 comments about Wrapped in Pride: Ghanaian Kente and African American Identity (Ucla Fowler Museum of Cultural History Textile Series, No. 2).
- Much information here about Ghanaian fabrics and the history of their usage. Beautiful pictures. Very poor binding, the cover of the paperback edition I bought fell off in about a week. Can I get my money back or get a new copy?
- This is a wonderful book--if you can still find it---to introduce you to this cloth and the people who weave it. The oversized book is full of color pages and goes through the evolution of the cloth to the meaning and names of the cloth.
The book was put together as part of the UCLA Fowler exhibition in 1998.
Ignore the other comment about the binding. The book is WELL worth hunting for and using a little glue to put the cover back on should it come off.
If you like textiles, this book is a must for your library.
