1. The ONLY reason I'm giving this 4 stars is because my husband can't find time to finish the rest of the game. Otherwise than that, it's perfect for finding every hidden thing, and it has very detailed maps.

1. I got this book to go along with my new pokemon silver game. It really is a great guide. It has pokemon information and great chapters. The only problem is that it gives away the ending. It told me all the secrets so it really wasn't fun to find them out on my own. I recommend the Versus Guide for Pokemon Gold/Silver. It doesn't give away secrets and is a little bit more in depth.



2. I bought this book thinking that it was going to answer all my questions on the game and even the ones that i didnt have. The maps are good, and the guide part is average. They have discriptions on SOME of the pokemon(vague discriptions). The worst part about this is that it lacks a pokedex. It makes you wonder why the guide for the older game came with one of the best pokedexes. It includes the pokemons strengths, weaknesses, moves, evolutions, TMs, HMs, and stats. This strategy guide doesn't even contain a complete listing of all the pokemon. I don't know why people gave it such high ratings because I found it just as lacking as the prima guide. It doesn't have that much to offer.



3. Boy was I angry. I couldn't find a decent strategy guide. I was looking through amazon then going out to book stores to flip through the guides. Prima guide? Not enough info. Pokemon Gold & Silver Official Pokedex? Not good maps. Just when I thought I was stuck, I came across Pokemon Gold Version and Silver Version : Official Trainer's Guide. I flipped through the book, looking at every detail. I purchased it and brought it home. I am so glad I did. This book's maps are great, has detailed information on every trainer and every move, TM, HM, map, Gym Leader and evolution. It even has a map of the whole Pokemon World at the end. Highly Reccomended for people who are just starting to play Pokemon Gold+Silver. It also told me what pokemon only exist and gold and not silver and vice-versa. I love it.

Boy,was i angry when they did not release this book out in the USA.I didn't even know what pokemon to battle with against the gym leaders.It was a challenge for me until i got this book.Dude, this book is awesome.From the full colored city and town maps to the big johto world map.A must have book.If you are a big pokemon fan and have the pokemon gold and silver game on your game boy color but don't have this book.Get it! This covers both gold and silver



5. This offical stragety guide will be helpful to me 100% because I have both Pokemon Gold and Crystal. On my Silver, I can't get pass a Sudowoodo looking like a tree because one lady in Goldenrod will not give me a water bottle to blast it with. On my Gold, I am having trouble in Ecruteak City and the Gym. Please, it wiil help me.

1. My 7 year old son has enjoyed reading this book (and having it read to him) many times. We also find the game-playing tips very helpful as we work our way through Oracle of Seasons/GameBoy Advanced.
   
   It also includes some nice color pictures of the key characters... which is why I only give it 4 stars... wish there were more illustrations!
   
   Highly recommend this for any young reader who likes to determine his own storyline.

1. These days, the hype of racing games and how to win at them is in many forms. With the success of Need For Speed and the last edition, Most Wanted, a new edition had to come around with the latest Need For Speed game, Carbon. This strategy guide highlights the latest edition for the consoles, PS2 and the upcoming PS3, PC, Gamecube, the highly-anticipated Nintendo Wii and the Xbox 360, and shows in detail each of the tracks and all the highlights for each of the sleek automobiles. This guide does a much better job at highlighting the depths of the game in each course than Need For Speed: Most Wanted did. The only downside is that if you've purchased Need For Speed: Carbon Own The City for the PSP, Game Boy Advance or the Nintendo DS, the strategy guide isn't going to help you. If you own the thrils of this game for your video game system, you'll definitely want this guide.

There is very much more good information in this book also.

   There is one page with very good chart. Chart show all the kind of machine and program and how much it pay. Also how to find it. 2. Mr. Royer's Powerful Profits for Video Poker is well worth the price of admission. He is obviously wise and practical and knows the game inside out. The knowldege I have acquired have permitted me to know what I need in terms of playing Video Poker, so if you are a regular joe or joanna out there and is planning to get serious, this book if just what the doctor ordered. Repetition is the mother of skill but knowledge is still one step above. Buy immediately, now!!! (I'm just being pushy, do forgive me).



3. I thought I knew a lot about video poker until I read Mr. Royer's Powerful Profits-Video Poker book. He gives an in depth discussion about what kind of machines to look for, what all the pay tables and percentages mean, and keys to winning consistently. A person who reads this book will be light years ahead of the average video poker player. I actually read parts of this book years later and it even made more sense after having played video poker in casinos using Mr. Royer's knowledge and strategies as outlined in his book. It is a must read for anyone wanting to become a consistent winner at video poker.



4. All in all it is a very informative book. It tells you how to locate better paying video poker machines. However, there are no guarantees about winning when gambling.

4 comments about Persona 2: Eternal Punishment (Prima's Official Strategy Guide).

1. There is absolutely nothing in this strategy guide that you could not get online, for free, at gamefaqs.com or something similar. Although the spells/demon contacts/rumors listings seem to be complete and accurate, the actual strategies in the book range from the obvious to the ridiculous. Most bosses in the game, except for the final boss, can be beaten in just a few turns if you've really got a good strategy; the strategies in this book often take 10 or twenty minutes, and the author himself states that it may take that long to win the battle. Basically, he seems to advocate the stupid, brute, battle of attrition way rather than giving cleaner, more economical strategies that don't waste all of your SP and life-restoring items -- he doesn't seem to have quite grasped the point of the game and battle system. The character bios aren't even that great. You won't learn anything new from this book. If you really need help, just find a good faq or walkthrough online. I promise they will be more helpful than this book.



2. This one could have been so much better with just a bit more work applied to it. The black-and-white layout (including screenshots) used throughout is the first tip off that this guide takes only a halfway serious approach to its subject; is there really any valid excuse not to use color thoughout (saving money for the publisher doesn't count - Prima should know better)? The "maps" are just about nonexistent: the crude "overall" ones found in the actual game are used in place of the far more detailed - and legible - "closeup" ones which, with a little effort, could have been transposed into the book and linked together to form complete floor layouts. There is some value to be found in this guide, though. It's heavy on statistical information on subjects such as the Persona themselves, and it explains how to access and play through the "secret" dungeon. I haven't checked the accuracy of any of this information against the game, but it appears valid. Disappointing overall, but better than nothing - if you need a reference guide in the form of a book.



3. The guide is in black and white, which makes it hard to discern some of the images. The appendices in the back of the guide make up for this detriment somewhat by providing vital information on the more obscure aspects of this title. The boss strategies presented in the game are not the best, but they do work. The main reason for getting this guide would be the persona compendium in the back, as it includes an impressive fusion listing, which no online guide (as of 10/18/1) has been able to reproduce.



4. Three Red Eyes is a very bad company to do business with. I thought this was a game but it is a book and they refused to do anything to help me. SO.. now I have to take a very expensive loss. They don't say it when you shop from them but they have a NO RETURN NO HELP policy.
   BUYERS BEWARE!

1. This strategy guide is very detailed and cohesive. It is jam-packed with pictures, levels, and background of Deus Ex. The game is by far the BEST FPS(First Person Shooter) *that requires a brain to complete* this Year. It might just be the GAME OF THE YEAR! I have it and I'm almost done. I got it on the second day it came out and I am HIGHLY ADDICTED to this game... because it's more than just a game....it's a whole other world! Don't believe me? Try it out then and see for yourself if your up to it! -Carlos Jr. 7-2-00.



2. Deus Ex is a complex game. In fact, I didn't realize just how complex it was until I started reading this strategy guide and saw how many subtle options I had missed. Unlike many of the Prima guides which tend to be a little anemic in the "actuallly useful information" department; I found this guide to be absolutely PACKED with helpful tips and clues. Deus Ex is almost a different experience with this by my side.

   I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to get the most out of the game but who (sadly) cannot play it through two or three times to accomplish that goal.

I never buy strategy guides for games because I usaully feel little need for them but when it comes to a game so complex and with so many options I felt I was going to need it for Deus Ex, This book was great considering i dont like to play through games over and over to find all options and secrets but sometimes I lost the satisfaction of figuring things out my own way (considering this game is all about your own decisions and playstyle) when I would wonder hmm i wonder how the book says to do this but all in all i wouldnt wanted to have played without it
