1. You've watched the cartoon, collected the card game and now Prima Games lets you view the game in it's entirty as you play. Like Pokemon and Monster Rancher, DIGIMON incorporates kids very fascinations with Monsters in to a Role Playing Genre. This Strategy Guide helps you with those tough to get Champion and Ultimate DIGIMON. All Items are listed in detail and how to recieve special items. It takes the Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How out of playing. So if you like Pokemon, Monster Rancher, and/or RPGs then buy this book. Oh yeah the Game too.



2. I bought the game just for a little laugh at Bandai's Pokemon imitation. It turned out to be a whole lot more than I expected! I am definitly bought buy the strategy guide! You get to raise your own cute (or weird!)Digimon.

   Well, this person does have a point. Stuff has changed since this was released, and this is the one advantage a help site has over this. And why do you think buying unofficial stuff is dumb? 'Oh, nobody knows anything about the site except for the creators, so unofficial stuff is dumb.' For that reason? THAT is dumb.
   
   Anyway, on to the book review.
   
   The book is filled with wonderful artwork by many varying artists. It gives nice descriptions of each pet, and is small and easily portable.
   
   It gives an entirely new look at the TCG, liking some cards I'd never expected to be good, and hating some many others think are great. As a TCG fan, this interested me quite.
   
   The book has some fun facts, and a very nice foreword. Really, this book is better then all these book bashers think.



2. I learned the complete basics to surviving in the Neopian world by just using the help of other players. Many have created their own websites with help, cheats, and many other things to help newbies out. I suggest trying that out before actually buying this book.

4. I, a 1year+ player found this book a learning experiance, so people should lay off the low ratings. This is a good read for anyone who plays Neopets.

   It is true, all of the resources you could possibly need for "success" on Neopets can be found on countless fan-sites, magazines, and even on the Neopets site itself.
   
   However, what you will find in Bill Gill's guide is a very neatly-collected version. No longer will you need to bookmark numerous pages, constantly having to flip between webpages. And, in all truth, that isnt a problem for some of us. But for others, with more sluggish computers, it is inevitably a /pain/.
   
   -An asset to Neopians? Absolutely.
   
   -An interesting take on several different aspects of the game? Most definitely!
   
   -Could you find the information in the book by web-surfing? Yes.
   
   But all in all, this guide can be a great help to countless fans of the Neopets world.

1. I am still reading the book but it already gave me a very distinctive feel of a textbook, grossly overpriced because professors can MAKE students buy these.
   First impression: the book is 232 pages. I understand that this is not at all a criteria of quality but this was the first alarm - 232 page books rarely cost $100+ (I wish I looked at that when I was buying it).
   Second impression: when you charge THAT much, can't you get somebody to proof read the text? My English is lame at best but there are sentences that are incoherent, not even talking about constructs like "the sophisticated ... (something) was sophisticated".
   Third impression... I don't have it yet, I'm still reading the book, I didn't get to the meat yet and I don't want to judge technical level without reading (would be wrong, don't you think). I know that buy the time I finish I will be too mellow about the money and lazy and I will not post a review.
   
   I assume there will be useful information but I already know this book won't be in my favorites.



2. Wiley has a habit of doing this. It commissions (ie. pays for and owns the copyright on) a technical book, puts it out in hardcover and charges over $100 for it. Sometimes, if the field is very narrow, this pricing might be ok. However, much of this book's material is generic. I grant that the book is indeed a good overview of online games. With an accurate synopsis of its history, dating back to the MUD games of the 80s.
   
   But several chapters cover material widely available in other computer books that are much cheaper. Like the chapter on the Internet Protocol, describing IPv4, the IP address formats and routing methods. Or the chapter on using widely available tools like tcpdump to find where the players are coming from. Then there is the chapter on broadband access networks. Addison-Wesley and O'Reilly have several books that treat these topics adequately.

1. Gives great strategy tips on each map, but needs more info on how to operate the different vehicles. Plus changes have been made since the game's inception through the patches. Scoring, game dynamics and rankings are different now. An updated guide with better vehicle training would be great.



2. Battlefield 2 is hands down the greatest game I have ever owned. The only thing is that you should heavily consider upgrading to 1 GB RAM on your computer.
   The ZBoard gaming keyboard is also a must, so get one set up for Battlefield 2.



3. This book explained a lot that the software package didnt. Worth the money.



4. This strategy guide is useless to anyone able to search sites made by Battlefield 2 fans. The statistics such as weapon firing rates are outdated because the many patches that have been made for the game have altered numbers for balance reasons. It doesn't even mention over a half dozen of the game's weapons & several vehicles because it was published before either expansion pack was released. Finally, the advice/tips are no better than the stuff you can read for free from player guides throughout fansites.
   It's not that anything in this prima guide is bad...it's just not good enough to be worth money.



5. I'm seeing comments in some of these reviews about the game being released by Prima. That is not true, EA/DICE released the PC version.
   
   Excellent book, by the way, very detailed.

1. This book has everything you need for these games and I mean it. I'm really tough on hint guides, especially when they give you less help as you get toward the end when you need it most, as many Prima guides do, but this one provided thorough coverage all through. In fact it went beyond the call of duty, giving a complete monster index, complete breeding help, personality charts, lists of what monsters can be found in all worlds (including magic key worlds), locations of all items, the complete scouting report on all bosses and colossium opponents, and other useful trivia. It's for both games and even goes into the possible interactions between them. Believe me, the monster guide alone is enough reason to get this book, so do it.

1. Sure, they added stuff like all the dvd keyword areas, and this time they got almost everything...

   but they still didn't add a weapons list again.




2. Generally, there's nothing to get particularly irritated about in a game guide, even this one. They fill out the story, provide maps and walkthroughs, catalogs of items, and explain the complicated bits if there are any. Many, like this guide come out pre-production of the US version of the game. Which means that small errors and differences are inevitable.

   So what irritated me about this particular 'Strategy Guide'. Actually, it was several things, but the most glaring omission is any attempt at a weapons list. That doesn't sound like much, but this game has weapons galore, and they are often vital to solving a particular confrontation. When a guide tells you to select a weapon with good fire spells, and you have to paw through an entire collection of twin blades, it can get on your nerves.

   This isn't what I would call a necessary guide - .hack//OUTBREAK is not a difficult game from the viewpoint of plot or monster slayage. If you play the game straight, you may miss some of the cooler weapons and armors and never get to beat the goblins, but you will win the game without anything unfathomable happening. In these circumstances a guide should amplify the experience, be something of a souvenir, and NOT forget to tell you some important things.

   This guide falls a bit short. Not fatally, but just enough to be an irritant. Think twice before imbibing.




3. A very useful and decent guide for the .Hack (dotHack) Outbreak (Part 3) game in the series. Useful if you are playing the game for the first time or going back through and trying to get to places and things that you may have missed the first time through. Has a section for walkthrough and stats on not only the characters in the game at this stage of the game, plus info and stats on weapons, armor, and enemies in the game.
