  1. This book is very useful. Sadly, lots of mistakes are in it. It got the cars Dolch Schub and Dagger TypeT mixed up, and TypeT is not a secret car. Dolch Schub is, but the Dolch Schub is what they said is the Dagger TypeT is the Dolch Schub. And what they said the TypeT is is the Dolch! Also, they said the V-8 is called the 80 Redline and they called the same car the Scout Chaser! The Scout is a pickup truck. What the 80 Redline is they called the V-8! AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH! At least I know what they mean.

  1. Easily one of the best video game strategy guides in print, Hexen 64: The Official Strategy Guide has everything you need to know about this game and its various modes. And don't worry, PlayStation and Saturn owners--your versions are both covered in full, and cheat codes for all systems are included. This book breaksdown all of the characters, weapons, items, enemies, and hubs like no other strategy book ever has for this massive game. The maps are extremely detailed and the walkthrough is easy to follow or pickup if you're trying to do some of the areas yourself. Strategies are in-depth and true-to-virtual-life. All in all, if you were ever stuck in or frustrated with Hexen, this book will remedy that.

1 comments about Vampire: The Masquerade-Redemption Official Strategy Guide (Official Guide).
  1. This strategy guide contains a lot of useful information such as stats on all creatures, enemies, weapons, items, and bosses as well as how to beat or use each of them. This is helpful in getting through the game. However, the walkthrough was quite brief, especially for an RPG title. It primarily tells you where to go to complete the next quest. Maps of the various levels and location showing secrets and treasures to find as well as where the enemy is waiting in ambush would have been very useful to players of the game. When purchasing a strategy guide for a game, I usually look for a good walkthrough to help in areas where I get stuck. Despite the light walkthrough, I recommend this book for those who want to understand the game better and play more effectively. It does help fill in the gaps left by the game manual as far as the combat system and gives good descriptions of the different spells (disciplines) as well as how and when to use them. V:TM is a great game and this book will help you to enjoy it more.

  1. Star Wars: Empire at War is a great game onto itself. Combine it with the new faction in the Forces of Corruption expansion, and now you have an even more dynamic and enjoyable Real Time Strategy game. No bugs that I know of and definitely adds to the replayability. Great game, where having the right troops/ ships can turn the tide of what appears to be an unwinable battle. Even though I enjoy turn based strategy more, this still gets two thumbs up from me.

My favorite Star Wars strategy game is: Star Wars: Rebellion.

3 comments about Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories - Official Strategy Guide for PlayStation Portable (Bradygames).
  1. As I almost passed all the story-line missions, I looked at my stats and realized that I only completed 43% of the game. I realized that there were some rampages and races that I didn't complete, but I still knew that I missed a lot of game here! I bought this guide and it made me realized that there are side missions out there that I didn't even knew existed like "Avenging Angels" or "See the Sight Before Your Flight" side missions.

This is a huge 225-page guide full of stats, maps and pictures that give you how-to-walkthrough of every mission. There is also a vehicle "showroom" section that shows you every single vehicle in the game, including vehicle's speed and handling score. The same is done for weapons sections.

This guide includes every nook and crany; however, if you are an expert, you may not need a lot of stuff that is in there. For example, it tells you what exactly going one during wanted levels(1-star is where one cop chases you...and 6-star is where the military takes over, etc.) If you're an expert, you may not need that information, but its still nice to know its there, as this guide is for a GTA expert and GTA newbie alike.

Also, I did find some misc. errors in the guide. On a map where the parked vehicles are shown, it states that Deimos SP is parked on the Cedar Grove highway, when in fact, its Phobos VT that is parked there. I'm sure there are a few minor errors here and there, but its hard to penalize the overall score based on that because the positives heavily outweight the negaives.

The final 50 pages of the guide are a MUST for anyone who wants to beat the game 100%. It gives you details of all the side missions, as well as, a full-page map, which shows you where every rampage and hidden package is located. Also, shows you where every weapon and police bribe is located as well as payphones where you have contacts calling you for street races.

Bottom Line: There are websites out there which will tell you how to beat the game, so you may not want to buy this game for walkthrough alone. However, if you want to 100% complete this game, this is a must, especially it being a $10 bargain.

  2. Bought this for my husband not so much for the information on missions but the items to be found. Apart from that he only uses it if something doesn't quite make sense and hes already tried many times to do what is necessary. Solves all those stressful moments and saves him tying up the PC looking for help online!

  3. After the miserable failure of a guide for GTA San Andreas, Brady Games have redeemed themselves with a true strategy guide for Liberty City Stories. Maps are accurate, missions have tips, and I would never have gotten the hidden package off the gas station without this book.

  1. I've bought this strategy guide in the same day i bought the game , this guide features all special attacks, spells, skills, and all the powerful dragons to do battle for you , and you'll get the locations of all treasures , armors ,and weapons. If you are a big fan of this game (Just like me) don't miss this strategy guide you'll finish this game in no time.

  2. If you've been a huge fan of the B.O.F. series (as I have) , you'll notice that this strategy guide is a bit less incomplete than the Breath of Fire 3 strategy guide. There was alot of information to gather from the guide, it's a great strategy for the game. If you've bought the game, or are planning to buy it. Then tag this strategy guide along. Even if it is only a gift. Any video game lover will just love this strategy guide. It involves maps , secrets, hints ,spells, monsteraries, and so much more. Ever wanted to make the perfect faerie town? This strategy guide will tell you how to. Have you wondered where you can find and gather ALL of the Ryu's dragons? Right here is where you'll find out how.

Just sit back and watch the guide be pulled out in those "tough to figure out" situations. Enjoy !

  3. This strategy guide covers all thebases for Breath of Fire 4. It willhelp to defeat enemies, find treasure, etc. Overall, if you needhelp, buy this book.

5 comments about The Bard's Tale (Prima's Official Strategy Guide).
  1. This guide has really imprinted on my mind why Prima guides are the best. Seriously, this is the best written and most attractively designed and layed out strategy guide I have ever read.

I'm glad they didn't waste time including a lot of ridiculous extras, such as a world map, that every cookie-cutter guide throws in, but which don't really add anything in the context of a game. In this game, for example, a world map would have been a complete and ridiculous waste of time. Instead, this guide includes rich and textures features that are actually RELEVANT to the game! The lay out is fantastic, cream of the crop. The writing is crisp and clever, I absolutely loved it.

This guide actually made me more excited about owning and playing this game. This guide doesn't just supplement the game, it complements it.

I have read A LOT of strategy guides. I think with this edition, Prima pulls out ahead. I look forward to many more efforts with this great team of editors and craftsmen that it must have taken to put this book together.

    My highest accolades, Prima.

  2. As a fan of Prima for a long time, I was surprised how this guide did not have Prima's logo emblazoned on the top front cover. It looked more like a sacred tome than than a guide. I knew this guide was going to be special, so for only the third time in my life, I bought the guide before buying the game (Grandia II and Legend of Zelda Oracles of Seasons were the others!!!). It had all the great features that you'd expect from an Official Prima guide and helped me beat the game. But, what set it apart is how the writing of the guide complimented the writing in the game; both made me laugh. There were also interesting facts interspersed throughout...one of the few times I felt smarter from reading a strategy guide. Now, if there were just a strategy guide for current events...

Don't forget to check out the "know your ales" section at the end.

  3. The Official Strategy Guide plays to the same snarky theme as The Bard's Tale game does. It's sarcastic, witty, very thorough and well-written.

The main part of the guide is a walk-through of the game, with maps of ALL areas, info on enemies encountered in each area, and full explanations of the way your choices affect the game. Also included in the appendixes are information on the various enemies and what "goodies" they drop when you kill them, info on all the weapons and armor in the game, and info on the tokens, artifacts, and tunes you acquire. There's a quick interview with the game's creators and a couple of pages about the original Bard's Tale PC games.

All around, it's a great guide, very easy to follow and set up logically. Well worth the low price!

  4. I have the XP version of "The Bard's Tale" on CD ROM. This guide is for the PS2/Xbox version. It's a completely different game.

  5. I bought this game and game guide for my husband last year for his birthday, he LOVES it. In the game it gives you the chance to pick if the bard will be snarky or nice, and depending on what you pick will vary the outcome of the game, and the plot. He has replayed the game serval times. Who doesn't love a game where you can be nasty to a person that deserves it? The game guide was a help for finding routes, the map was a blessing and it has all of the locations of the secrets. worth the money I spent for the guide and shipping. It was delievered nicely, not damaged, and on time. I was thrilled!! This game is not for children, it is a bit too violent, for teens it would be okay. A great game and a must have guide.

  1. This book is awesome because it gave me everything I needed to get past certain points in Sonic Adventure DX:Director's Cut. If I got stuck all I had to do is rely on my strategy guide to help me. It also told me how to unlock everything I wanted to in the game. This product is awesome!

  2. When I got SADX, I also got this guide book. I flipped through it a few times, just to see what it had. For the most part it looked like it wouldn't provide that much help, but I bought it anyway because it knew how to get the twelve gamegear titles. When I got home to play the game, I had the book right there with me. This is what I found out about the book: It isn't a walk-through guide book, which means that it doesn't progress with you as you play. Instead, it has everything jumbled up onto one page. There are things that it says you can get to once you get about half way through the game, and also on the same page there will be things that you can do in the very begining. It gets pretty confusing. I'd say that the only things that it has which are really helpful are these: how to beat the bosses, the maps (it's nice to have the maps, but you can get along fine without them), and how to get the gamegear titles. All this book really says is where all the little items (rings and such) are in the levels, and how to beat the bosses. It also is hard to read the action stage maps, so I would recomend just exploring them yourself. Overall, this book is good to have for reference and pointers, but it's not really an essential.

  3. Arguably, most third-party strategy guides don't seem to really hit the nail on the head, especially for any fantaics of Sonic The Hedgehog. For anybody who has Sonic Adventure DX for the Nintendo Gamecube, they may have a hard grabber here. The Prima guide for Sonic Adventure DX is a little more complex when it comes to challenging through certain areas, that isn't it. It also is not as detailed as much as die hard fans from even the Dreamcast days Sega had couldn't hit. Although it isn't a over the top strategy guide, it will just have to do for gamers of the Sonic Adventure DX.

  1. This is a good "walkthrough" in that it lays out all the maps in the game, and points out where you should go or what you should do next if you're lost or stuck. However, this walkthrough fails as a "strategy guide" for its lack of strategies. Sure, it's got some tips for certain battles, but it's of no help when it comes to raising characters. It doesn't tell you if the characters in the game has a maximum level, what are the level requirements for each of the skills, how much skill points does each level of a skill costs, or how many more skillpoints will you receive as your character's level increases. These are all vital data a first-timer needs to know in order to create sucessful characters, and none of that is in this guide. In regard to characters and skills, this guide provides absolutely nothing beyond what is already revealed in the manual that comes with the game. What's the use of knowing who you're supposed to beat up next if you don't know how to build your character to get that job done? This guide does reveal hard-to-find secrets, but its lack of character development data also makes its secrets coverage incomplete (as for hidden chars). Overall, the values of this guide lies only in its maps and secret revelations. To me, it's only value is in the secrets, for I don't think it's that hard to find your way in the game. If you think a few secrets in an otherwise unpopular console game and some maps to guide your way in this game are worth ten dollars (or more), then this walkthrough's for you.

  2. Expect this to be just as good as every Prima Book. Quality.
