1. Frome has put together the best book on VP if you want to win. It includes the strategies for 60 of the most popular games out there including the very popular DOUBLE BONUS/DOUBLE-DOUBLE BONUS Games.

   I was in Las Vegas back in February, and I found a strategy table in here for virtually every game I could find in a casino. Nothing is left out!




2. I go to LV a couple of times a year and take frequent day trips to Atlantic City as well. I always make sure to bring this book with me. The book helps me make sure I only play the best paying machines with the best pay tables.

   It has the strategy tables for more than 60 variations of Video Poker which makes it easy to learn how to play the version you like the most.

   I also own the companion software which lets me practice on the same versions of the games and tells me when I make a mistake in playing.

   If you play Video Poker, you HAVE to have this book




3. The author is a former rocket scientist and the book contains many charts that the "average" person may find difficult to fathom. There are very few explanations for the terms used in the charts and minimal examples. The beginning player wants to know why video poker is so popular; the difference between normal slots and video poker; what are full-pay machines. If you are just starting out - don't start with this book.



4. I am a regular video poker player. I had heard many positive things about Mr. Frome's book, though I do not generally anjoy reading. The book was very enjoyable to read and immediately improved my play and that was very rewarding, if you know what I mean. I highly recomend the book for players at any level.



5. A wonderful, comprehensive, easy to read book on video poker. It makes it easy and fun to play the game and to know you are making the right play. Lenny Frome deserves his title as master of video poker. I started out not really knowing how to play the game but now I love playing and feel confident that I am using the winning strategy! The EV tables make are easy to use. I also suggest reading VP Americas National Game of Chance by the same author.

5 comments about Xenogears Official Strategy Guide (Bradygames Strategy Guides).

1. Some strategy guides are vague and are a waste of money. They leave a gamer wondering where exactly to find an item or a location, learn a certain ability, or how to defeat an enemy. The Xenogears Strategy Guide blew these flawed strategy guides out of the water and proved that there are guides with all the answers to your questions! I strongly recommend this to anyone that owns Xenogears!



2. This is a lot like other walkthroughs that I have used before, it is easy to go through and understand and makes it extremely beneficial for a player to have. It may not be the best for the first time playing through the game because of some of the spoilers that it has throughout (mainly screen caps of the anime sceens), but I would highly recomend it to anyone



3. There are online walkthroughs available that are more helpful than this guide. However, this is a must-have for those who love to collect video game strategy guides. Personally, I liked the artwork. Also, the guide is made of quality materials, unlike more recent strategy guides. The cover and the pages seem to be made of thicker paper. I highly recommend this for those who loved Xenogears.



4. I'm probably the only one here who is going write a review bashing on this guide for it's quality. I don't mind the plot spoilers in the guide because...well it's a guide. Every guide has spoilers (and yes I actually DID get my hands on an FFVII guide by VERSUS BOOKS so don't tell me "well you should see THAT guide" I KNOW, but even that one had a few spoilers...just not plot spoilers).

   A guide is meant to do just that guide you. The reason I gave it a three was because the guide misses a lot of secrets, the bestiary lacks and there are no maps in the walkthrough.

   Let me start off by saying this, at least we can all agree on this, Maps are ESSENTIAL to a strategy guide and ESPECIALLY RPG guides. That goes without saying and for that I couldn't let the guide come within a mile of five stars. Second, a guide should NEVER spoil the ending. Plot I'm okay with but the ending is the whole reason you play a game in the first place. Sure it's no fun when you know the plot but if you know how the game ends then that just plain stinks! So I don't mind the plot spoilers but the fact of the ending being spoiled really made me mad.

   The walkthrough is dim too. The screens are blurry and out of context and the content that the guide contains is not always clear. The directions they give you in dungeons are only going to help you in getting lost. The bestiary doesn't detail a monsters weakness instead the only good thing we really get is how much HP they have.

   So in short, the guide isn't the best buy for you. It has a complete walkthrough and it actually isn't all that bad. Boss strategies are nice and you get the general idea of what they're telling you to do. But again, I didn't give this guide a considerably low score for the plot spoilers. I never actually even read the plot spoilers since I was using the guide as a reference book and not a magazine.




5. For a new company this is a great way to start out by never over rating an item for sale. I can say I am happy with my purchase,since it was in better condition than what I percieved.

1. This Strategy Guide is great. It has extremely well detailed and defined color maps for every level, and depicts where each Field Task is on larger, Region maps. Just as an attempt to clarify something that, when I purchased this product, wasn't clarified by Amazon: this guide is not really for the Xbox360 version of the game (I know many of you may already have known that, but for those who didn't, just trying to help). Now, the basic gameplay and levels are the same, but there are indeed a few minor differences that could occur when trying to use this guide with the XB360 version of the game. Also, there are many more medals for the PS2/Xbox versions, and the guide only tells those, and doesn't separate XB360 medals from them, leading me to believe that it is not specifically designed for XB360. Just wanted to help out those who may make the same mistake I did.



2. I bought this to learn the PC version, which seems quite different than the console...
   
   However, it looks like a very good guide for xbox, etc.
   
   
   Don't buy it if you're playing BF2 on PC....better (and really only) information is online.

1. I never buy books due to the fact you can read most stuff on the net. This book however, is so well researched and put together that I STRONGLY recommend buying it. There is so much informations, and a truck load of pictures of all sorts of tables.

1. I bought this book just to help me out on Minas Tirith - Top of the Wall - because I couldn't figure out exactly what I was supposed to be doing. I did refer to this book a couple of times along the way. I have just finished the game and re-playing some of the levels with different characters just for fun. If you are having any kind of trouble with this game, this guide offers some good tips. It is excellent at showing you how to beat all the bosses and finding missed items and offers some good strategies for each level. If you don't want to read any hints, then don't read the next few sentences. The guide book tells you how to defeat the Nazgul at the "Black Gate" with Aragorn. If you are having too much trouble doing this (as I did), change your character to Gandalf. Gandalf's magic arrows do ten times more damage to the Nazgul than if you use Gimli, Aragorn, or Legolas.

1. just what i said, this is not as extencive as the other nad more expencive, but if you know the game ok, it is a good reference guide, but to people that plan on using it for the whole game shouldnt get this



2. The Evil has returned and the book has come to save the day it brings everything, maps, files, walkthroughs,a nd codes it's a gamers dream pick this up whenever you get the game because you'll need it.



3. This or anygame now a days is really hard to beat. If you buy a book like this strickly for the perpose of walking through the game, the you've wasted money on the game. However if you by it to simply help you through the impossable areas then you bought wizely and got your money out of the book, and game.



4. It is a great book to read and has alot of helpful information included in the book. If you are at a tough spot in the game chances are this book could really help you out.



5. When I first bought resident evil 2, I thought that the game was going to be to hard and that I would need a guide book to tell me everything. I couldn't have been more wrong. I beat the game 4 times before I finally got the guide book and when I did get the guide, it was useless. It tells you all the basic things that a guide book should tell you, the characters (just Leon and Clare, but not the other characters that you will meet during your journey) weapons, enemies, and the walkthroughs. That's it. It dosen't tell you where to get the weapons and it dosen't give you enough information on the a and b walkthroughs, it dosen't even have pictures for the a and b walkthroughs (except one or two!). Don't get me wrong, this guide book wasn't that bad. I just think that the publisher could have done a lot more. One more thing, it gives away the ending completely.
