- Really helps with hidden treasures etc. Sometimes I wish it was a little clearer but all in all a great help.
- Very complete guide, easy to follow and very usefull maps. it may need a little more follow up with some of the items of the game, since there is an achievement for this task. Nevertheless they are listed and it`s easy to know how to get them.
- This guide is actually very good, it can really get you to acomplish 100% achivements. Recomended.
- My favorites games are Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, VII, Xenogears and Vagrant Story. If you share my taste maybe enjoy this one. Good story and the main character (Kaim) it's great.
- well the game is ok, this book does a good job helping you get from place to place. it is a bit confusing at times, but once you get used to it, works well...

5 comments about Warcraft: World of Warcraft: Rise of the Horde (World of Warcraft).
- ... from a WoW novel. It was stunning, really. Okay, maybe that isn't the right word. But if you're a diehard fan of the games like me, you'll find yourself very attached to the storylines, especially if you're an Orc and/or Draenei fan. Some of the scenes near the end of the novel had me very emotional as you watch a genocide, one of a race and another of an ancient culture.
I suggest this to every single WoW player out there who wants to start reading the books.
- As literature, it isn't one of the best books I have ever read, but as a book based on a game (or RPG) - what usualy results in not very good histories, and I have read many - it's good. It's well written.
In order to have how to compare my taste would be good to you to know that to me "Tides of darkness" was bad (too descriptive); "Cycle of hatred", tasteless (no emotion, no surprise); "They of the dragon" worse, it's boring; "Of blood and honor" is nice; "The last guardian" is very cool"; and I think that "Lord of the clans is good", but "Rise of the Horde" is a bit better.
It's very cool to "see" guys like Gul'dan, Ner'Zhul, a young Doomhammer and Hellscream, as well as Kiljaeden and Archimond yet as "normal" people (hahaha).
The way it's explained why a shamanistic and relatively peacefull race, became engaged in a war with his very tranquil neybohood, was a great idea (demons rules!)
The rise of the horde (the fact, not the book) is terrifying. Durotan seems a very lucid german, before the second war, seeing the third reich rising and he can't do anything to stop it. Chirstie Golden makes you feel Durotan's pain.
To finish: the book is worth it's price. Buy it! You will have some fun.
- This was a wonderful book, I really enjoyed the background it gives, it helps to flesh out the story a little better, and gives you more insight into the Orcs, and the Draenei. Well worth purchasing.
- If you read the book before this and enjoyed it even a little bit, you will love this book! Great read!
- We all think of the Orcs as mindless beast... well this book gives us insight into how the Shamanistic Orcs got to be the Horde. As a WoW player that has never liked the Horde, this book inspired me to roll an Orc Shaman. Also it tells where the Draenei came from...
I loved it so much I sent my sister a copy!

- She got the game also and says it helps out a lot especially with this type of game.
- This guild is really good at letting you know certain things you need to know to get along in the game.
The chapters are kind of weird, though, you'll end one world and need to do an in-between episode, but they wont dedicate a page to that episode, there will just be a new world section and that's all. So be sure to pay attention to in-game dialouge, and small tid-bits they add to the last page of a world section.
One of the only real problems I've had with this guide is that it's fairly large, but doesn't have a very good binding to it, so it falls apart. I've treated my book very carefully and made sure not to be rough, but it still lost a few pages in the begining and in the middle the pages are starting to disconnect.
Other than that, it's a fairly good guide.
- my 12 & 13 year boys were obsessed with this game. after getting the strategy book they both completed the the game.
- Now KH2 is a very easy game so I personally dont think a guide should be bought. Now for one they give a map in this game which is very useful and the maps are very easy to locate so their isnt much of a problem their.Secondly health items are very common and you can buy them from moogles. And lastly it feels so much better knowing you beat the game by yourself
- Thank you for the fast delivery(4 days), true product description, and very reasonable price. I would buy from your company again.

- I ordered this for Christmas for my brother. It was delivered on time and in wonderful condition. My brother was so excited to get it.
- This review is very simple: If you play WoW you should read these books!
Best books under the WoW name, most action, the largest plot line, and great heroes.
- Well, the only complaint is about the book's material... if you dont have care, it may "rot" cause it's kinda fragile and the cover is not thick. I thought that the book could be more well made. But talking about the content its really a marvel. I dont regret in any means bought this book. Its just some positive critcism about developing the material.
- I dont read all book, but I read enough to see that the book is very good.

- This book contains a little info that can help you strategize. Not an absolute necessity. Nothing awe inspiring.
- This book contains a lot of information for playing as and playing against the various civilizations in the game. Best part about it IMHO is the coverage of the various civs as well as the recommendations for which tech to select and when.
- Nice game, went over really well and it was refreshing that it did not take forever to conquer the game and you did not leave feeling like you were lacking in the I.Q. dept. Gameplay is nice and smooth and it was easily addicting!

2 comments about FINAL FANTASY IV Official Strategy Guide (Bradygames Official Strategy Guides).
- Final Fantasy IV is a relatively simple game. It's even simplar if you've been through it before. But for those who haven't, this strategy guide can get you through much of the game with ease.
It begins by jumping right into the basics of the game. Final Fantasy IV is by no means a hard game to understand. So long as this isn't your first Final Fantasy, there's nothing here you probably don't already know. At least it's there, but much of its tips and basic explanations have been hammered into your head before. At least it doesn't spend too much time here as it goes into the characters. Each character has a bio and tells you about their starting stats. It'll also show you coverage of their abilities. Afterwards it talks about all the magic you can use as well as all the items, equipment, and armor. After all this preliminary stuff, we get to the walkthrough.
In the past, BradyGAMES has often used a step by step walkthrough, while explaining some of the more complicated stuff. The Final Fantasy IV guide doesn't do this (but at least it has a World Map which BradyGAMES is notorious for neglecting). There's nothing too complicated about the walkthrough. There are no story spoilers and each section begins by telling you what items you can find in an area as well as showing you all the maps for an area. If it's a dungeon it'll show you all the enemies encountered. All the items are pointed out on the maps, and it'll also show you on each map what you get for uncovering 100% of the map.
The walkthrough has an easy presentation and is easy to follow. Some of the boss strategies are not the best, however. Most of them are pretty good about offense. Telling you what to use to attack certain bosses, and their weaknesses. BradyGAMES still doesn't do a good job of preparing you with a good defense. It's hard to blame the guide for this as you'll probably be alright just knowing what to attack with.
Once all that is said and done, we get into the Bestiary. Which highlights all the stats of every enemy in the game. Telling you their weakness and what they'll drop and even the rate at which they drop it. The Bestiary doesn't present itself in alphabetical order. Rather it goes based on the enemy's assigned number. Which is basically the order in which you see them.
Afterwards there's an entire section dedicated to Whyt and teaching him abilities. There are also secrets, though it's only a page long. Much of what Final Fantasy IV has to offer is actually covered in the walkthrough. Many of the optional things you can do are noted in the walkthrough as they come up in the quest.
There's really no big reason to buy a guide for Final Fantasy IV. That doesn't make the guide bad. Or even useless. If this is your first time through Final Fantasy IV and you're confused on where to go or what to do next, this guide is pretty helpful. If you mastered Final Fantasy IV inside out beforehand, then picking up the guide for all the new content probably isn't worth your while.
- This a a fun, easy-to-use guide. The maps are nice and the monster descriptions are very helpful. Definitely recommended for someone who has not played the earlier version of this game.

5 comments about What Video Games Have to Teach Us About Learning and Literacy. Second Edition: Revised and Updated Edition.
- Not sure why the author who does make some good points, couldn't find a way to express those without trying to sound important. The writing style got between his message (which was interesting) and his delivery. I finished it, got some value, but in comparison to other authors, this was a letdown.
- Great book and delightful read. If you are a teacher or work in education to help direct new initiatives with technology and learning, you should read this.
- First of all, this book is not written as a general public book, it is written much more in the vein of a college graduate's analysis. Heavy discussion of the effects of video games on the semiotic domain underpin the analysis. That being said, this book is a good analysis of the effects of video games on those that play them.
If you want a general public analysis of the effects of entertainment (and video games) on people, check out Steven Johnson's "Everything Bad is Good For You." This book is a deeper analysis of part of Steven Johnson's book, so it might be best as a follow-up purchase.
My biggest complaint about James Paul Gee's book is more with the copy editor and publisher. There are so many poorly written or incorrectly written sentences that should have been caught and corrected. It really affects the perceptions about the book's research.
- I'd always sort of believed the "video games are a waste of time" thing just because I'd heard it so much. This book is good but I couldn't understand all the technical stuff but I think I got the just of it. I actually had to write a persuasive essay on the HSPA (High School Profficiancy Assessment) agreeing or disagreeing with the hypothetical decision of some kind of governmental authority (I forget which one, congress maybe?) to ban all noneducational video games. I'd read the first few pages of the book and it helped. Now I regret ever believing that waste of time stuff.
- Gee's background in linguistics and current interests in education inform this discussion of video games, as he clearly outlines over thirty good learning principles that teachers can glean from the practice of gaming and apply to their classrooms. Gee's book should be commended for its detailed analysis of particular games--too often, theorists discussing games tend to shy away from minute description of their own interactions with games and go straight for lessons learned or abstract ideas garnered from gameplay. Gee also has a talent for talking openly and humorously about his development from non-gaming baby boomer to avid but still sometimes inept gamer.
If you're already convinced that video games are cultural objects worthy of study, Gee will only confirm your opinion. However, if you look at the book's title and can't contain a derisive snort, give Gee a chance. According to Gee, good video games (and yes, not all video games are good) model active, participatory, and embodied learning, a kind of learning often scarce in traditional school curricula. Good games demonstrate the effectiveness of pattern recognition over rule-based or rote learning, and they encourage players to reflect at a meta level not only about their own identity but also their practices, often via the formation of affinity groups both within and outside of the game world. At their best, gamers become producers, creatively "modding" their own gaming experiences and sharing information with others who take play seriously.
