- I bought this guide and the game at the same time. I finished the game long before I would need the book. The game was way too easy to complete, making the guide useless.
- I bought the book long before I got the game. I like to have the guides to go with my games. The book arrived in a timely fashion, and as described. I am happy with it. Thanks get_it_for_less.
- This was an awesome guide. It helped me beat the game in 1 month.

5 comments about Xenosaga Episode III: Also Sprach Zarathustra Signature Series Guide (Bradygames Signature Series).
- great game. I am still playing.
- This guide contains everthing a guide should have except one maps! MAPS! MAPS! It contains absolutely no maps! But everything else is well done. Overview of storyline, character strengths, weaknesses, and abilities. The guide itself is also good and contains absolutely no spoilers. It has good tips for bosses. In the back details all side quests and missions that can be completed as you play through the main story line. And man does this game contain one heck of a story line just like the first two!! Gotta love Xenosaga! Overall a good investment!
- Xenosage is one of the best roll playing games I have ever played. The story is unfolded over three episodes which allows for great character development. The story line is wonderful and kept me never let me down. I would say it is a must for anyone who likes roll playing and quest games. I will playing it again. This guide was very helpful and full of hidden secrets and information that helped me in my quest to get everything I could out of the game.
- Great and fantastic series.
Never thought I'd play a game on a console but this one changed all that.
Each game changed a little and added something special each time. Loved the ingame movies and the characters are not to be forgotten. They changed with each game and for the better. Great story line and the graphics are fantastic as well.
- This guide is pretty complete and very good-- I never feel like I'm missing anything while I'm playing along. There is complete sidequest information (while a little bit more space devoted to Hakox would have been nice) along with good boss strategies among other things.
The one thing it is sorely lacking, however, is MAPS. Even a little poorly-done overhead sketch of some of the areas would have been appreciated, but this guide has nothing. Unfortunately, the long, drawn out pages of text are not always sufficient in helping me to find a specific item or location. Things could be said in significantly less words if simple maps could have been provided.
I do recommend the book, overall-- it is very helpful in getting all one can from the game.

5 comments about Heroes of Might and Magic V (Prima Official Game Guide).
- Don't buy this. There's more accurate information online about HOMM5. This is the poorest Game Guide I've ever bought.
- Overall the book is useful, but like most of Prima's game guides it is a mass of errors and typos. They really ought to consider hiring an editor.
- With a complex game like Heroes you want some good fold out tables and charts of the different troop-types and heroes. You dont get that. The entire book is in black and white. Most of the guide is simply a walkthrough of the Campaign missions. Bleh. That would have been fine to include that but fans of this game want tables and charts in a readable format. Very unfortunate how bad this "guide" is. I regret buying it.
- The game looks nice but except from the graphics nothing else has been changed from the previous version. You should by this game only if you missed playing heroes but do not expect much from it.
- I read the reviews here and hesitated to buy this guide. So I went into a game store and looked at it in person. It had everything I expected it to have: monster descriptions, spell descriptions, ability descriptions, campaign walkthroughs, and even some stuff I didn't expect, like what all the "Week of..."s meant.
It's certainly a grand improvement on what the game's rulebook gives you. Now I know in mechanical terms what items like "Battle Dive" and "Shield Bash" mean, and can use them properly--not hit a button and not know how the outcome was determined.
I still don't know what a Crystal Dragon is yet, but maybe it will turn up. :)

3 comments about The Movies (Prima Official Game Guide).
- A very colorful and helpful book. It gives many of the numbers behind the game. Did you know that you can only use each of the cars three times before that item reaches its overuse limit and future copies of that item only generate about 40% effectiveness rating? This book gives this and many other figures behind the game. It is very, very colorful and detailed in the game's style. It also explains what all the buildings do and what effect they can have on your stars. Also, it tells you about the different research packs you can get. It gives more instruction on how to play the game. The back section tells you how to create your own movies for people to watch online, and gives tips for making a good movie. There is also a guide to winning the Platinum Lifetime Achievement award.
This guide did help me a bit, and explained many of the calculations of the game's ratings system. Still, it is not all that big a help for me, because I played the game for 10 hours already before reading this book. However, it still gave me insight on many of the "behind the scenes" rules and ratings calculations. This knowledge let me improve my rankings on the charts.
- I haven't actually read it, but I own The Movies and I think it's a great game. If this guide will acknowledge you with everything you need to know about it and provide walkthroughs, I'm guessing the guide should be awesome.
- Okay, let me start out by saying that I found thids guide very helpful. That being said, I bought it to learn cheat codes for the game or see how to make a bigger studio lot. The guide does not provide ANY cheats for the game, and I did not learn any way to make the lot larger, which is a drag because by the final third of the game, my studio lot is always too full to add anything else. So, the new technologies and sets I was researching were useless to me unless I wanted to delete earlier things.
This book is heavy on stats and figures, which can be quite helpful. The only reason it didn't get the entire 5 stars is that it didn't really help my game. I didn't pick up any vital new information that I needed for the game.
The writer also seems to forget that this is a book about a game. How writing is so serious. It does not seem to be written by someone who actually enjoys playing the game itself for fun. Yes, that's what this book lack. It isn't any fun.
I must admit that I only read game manuals or help books if my computer is down or I can't play the game itself, like if I am waiting for the game to show up in the mail. I learn how to play games on my own or with the help of an in-game tutorial. If I can't figure out the game, I don't play it. I don't like things with large learning curves. Let me learn on my own or forget it.
I also want to make it clear that The Movies along with its STUNTS exapsion, are my most played games. I LOVE making the movies: hiring the players, crew, stuntmen, and writers. I olove creating and filming scripts and competing with the other studios. It is a great game.
The book about it is good enough. It just didn't wow me with new info and it wasn't that fun to read because the magic and imagination of the game was missing from it.

5 comments about Digital Video Hacks: Tips & Tools for Shooting, Editing, and Sharing (O'Reilly's Hacks Series).
- I learned so much from this book. In fact, I've already implemented several of the ideas and have had great results. If you're semi-professional (video has been added to your responsibilities but you have no experience with this medium) BUY THIS BOOK.
Who would have thought of parchment paper and clothes pins to diffuse light and create a softer, more natural light over the subject? That's just one of the great tips I've already started using.
I've bought several digital video books while trying to learn this medium, and this has been by far the most useful.
- I found the book to be very practical and have the
kind of "nuts-and-bolts" pointers that I like. You
don't have to read it cover to cover (I didn't) but
can pick it up and go to the points that interest you
or where you are currently in need of help. It refers
to various "commerical products" that the author has
used to get the job done. I found this helpful. With so
many competing products to chose from it's nice to
hear, "If you get product X you'll be able to do Z,"
rather than buying and hoping (or not buying and
wondering). Kuddos to the author.
- This book covers many aspects of video. Labeling tapes, making excel spreadsheets for saving information, time code on tapes, how to achieve certain effects, lighting, and green screen effects just name a few. The book is general to most all video software and is a very usefull tool I'm glad I purchased. Don't let the term "HACKS' fool you it 's only refering to tips or tricks.
- Great book with great content I recommend it to anyone who want to take there film making a step forward and is to busy or lazy to download the information from the internet becaue it is all there. Spread around of course but you will find every piece of information even most of the pictures used in this book so. If you have time and dedication you can save yourself the money by looking it up on the internet.
- Not soemthing I would read cover to cover, but the individual "Hacks" that I have read are pretty good. I have lots of books along this line and this is one of the bet. I put it up there with Stu's "DV Rebels Guide" which is also incredible. If you like the Rebel guide, you will probably like this as well. Lots of good stuff. Enjoy!

5 comments about Myst IV: Revelation (Prima Official Game Guide).
- I found the guide very helpful in getting me past the places where I was stuck.
- This game was exciting and interesting at every turn. The graphics are interesting and beautiful. The puzzles are challenging. The characters are well fleshed out and interesting.
The only fly in the ointment is the several puzzles that require dexterity to get through. The problem solving in the Myst universe has never required such a level of expertise in timing and placement before. . . just find the answer and go has been the solution in the past.
- I have used Prima Official Game Guide for all my Myst adventures. This one is taking me though the adventure without a hitch, so far. I am about 2/3 though. I like to play the game while reading the guide. Its more like the game is a high quality support for the guide. I don't like to spend too much time exploring on my own and spending hours on puzzles. I like the story, not the play. If there was no Prima Guide, I would never have finished Myst. I have however experienced and enjoyed them all and have ordered the final one.
- Great to have helps the story to read with the game. Enjoy, The Larghe's
- This game is completely awesome, awesome awesome awesome. But very difficult. Nice graphics, beautiful soundtrack, interesting storyline, and highly immersive. Some drawbacks? Static (i.e. non-freemoving) 3D graphics tend to make you feel "stuck" at times, however the visual quality makes up for that. Also, some of the puzzles' solutions felt a bit arbitrary and did require some online hints to get past them. Nice to have a cameo by Peter Gabriel (voiceover and a remake of the song "Curtains").

5 comments about The Sims 2: Open for Business (Prima Official Game Guide).
- I think I have bought every one of the Prima guides for the Sims and Sims 2 games - I will never buy another one. Most of the book is in 8-point or 10-point font ... fine if you're 15, but if you're over 35, it's infuriating. Trying to read the tiny type with my contacts in gave me a headache, reading it with my glasses was impossible, so I ended up reading it without my glasses with the book about an inch away from my nose. WHAT A PAIN! Does Prima not get that not all Sims addicts are teenagers? Stupid, stupid book design, and stupid for future sales if Prima doesn't figure out that customers, like Sims, do grow older ...
- Like all the other Sims 2 Prima Guide, this is just great! I find it incredibly useful. So much good info, some that you may never find anywhere else... and even if you do find it somewhere else, at least you know this is official!
And yes, even the official guide includes cheats and tricks! This one includes new ones that you can only use if you have Open For Business. :)
- Prima is "Premium", the most useful and helpful tool that my wife and I have gotten for the Sims games!
Thank you so much to all those involved with the making, publishing, and marketing of these Wonderful Help and Instruction Guides!
Sincerely,
Gary L Hoffman
- To the reviewer who complained about the font. I'm 42 and can read the guide just fine. Please do not lump people over 35 with you, evidently you have bad eyesight, and that's not Prima's fault. Definately buy this guide no matter what age you are!
- well i have the other guides to the other ones but this one cant be ordered at barnes and noble and i come on here but i want to know why its so expensive..??i cant figure out how to play it without the book...
