2 comments about Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness (Prima Official Game Guide).
- At first i'll say i'm Italian so my english could be not so good to understand!!!
I hoped to find a book such complete as the edition released for the first pokèmon series games, i know that pokèmon repeates itself for many thing like moves, items and many other things so yes you'll find it all in the guide.
But as you find so many picture and a near complete walkthrough, the book lack in strategies for the most important battle and for the solution of the 50 battle cd!!!
You want to do a STRATEGY GUIDE so write it COMPLETE!!!!
Buy it if you are a collector if not leave where it is....
- An adquate game guide for an average GNC game. The guide is actually very helpful. There always times in game play when one becomes stuck, so a game guide is useful.

5 comments about Versus Books Official Baldurs Gate II: Throne of Bhaal Perfect Guide.
- The Throne of Bhaal Strategy Guide copies the handy class kit tables and information pages from their Shadows of Amn guide. There's also a useful item list and section on spells and effects. I just wish they had actually finished the guide before getting it published. A number of sections are incomplete, such as the final confrontation with Demogorgon in Watcher's Keep and details on Yaga Shura's Lair. In fact the section on the fire giant's lair had identical text repeated a number of times and blank boxes where pictures should have been. Awful spelling (on every page!) and poor grammar made the whole thing smack of a 1st grader's first attempt at writing. I found this book pretty much a waste of money and used a much better strategy guide by another publisher.
- I've found this book to be ulest
- It's hard to believe that this rag is from the same company that gave us the excellent Final Fantasy 7 and Resident Evil 2 guides. Hard to believe but it's true. This guide fails and it fails miserably:
-A lot of the information is either wrong or misleading. For example he says that the Turn Undead ability is "weak". Wrong! At really high levels Turn Undead can kill a lich instantly making it one of the most useful skills in the game. He never explains how useful the Use Any Item skill can be, in fact he never offers any strategy with regard to this skill at all.
-The item list leaves out a lot of items and some of the descriptions for the items which he does list are wrong.
-The character profiles are a joke. Instead of showing you how to use every NPC most effectively he simply tells you to avoid certain NPCs altogether.
-The bestiary doesn't offer much helpful advice at all.
-The boss strategies are simply pathetic and probably the worst part of this guide. Often there is little to no strategy. He basically tells you "hit the boss a lot and it will die" not exactly like that but this is pretty much what his boss strategies amount to. The strategy for Demogorgon for example has wrong statistics and offers no advice other than "kill him as quickly as possible". Well duh, but how exactly am I supposed to do that if you don't even show me what strategy you used to defeat him. If I wanted trial and error I wouldn't have bought the guide.
Don't waste your money on this. There's an excellent guide on gamefaqs.com by Dan Simpson for BG2ToB and it's free.
- This was an excellent help in the game I couldn't have continued without the book
- I just started reading this guide and I was amazed that a book with this many errors was printed. In the walkthrough sections, the same text is printed, word for word, in multiple sections! The first time I thought somebody goofed but when in happened again I thought this is just crappy proof reading/editing. I'm only on page 40 so I don't know how bad the rest of the book is but I do know that pages 26-31 are all messed up. For $14.99, you'd think they could at least have someone proof read these things before they go to the printer.

4 comments about Phantom Brave: The Official Strategy Guide.
- I was really surprised by the book's size. It's really small and I don't mean content wise. I'm talking about height and width. This thing's tiny, but it's colorful and in my opinion beautiful. It's very helpful providing many hints for the storyline battles. The line at the back of the book basically tells you what this book's for. To get EVERYTHING. It has charts for skills, characters, and items in the back. They even realize there are a few things that aren't done being researched and they tell you that it will later be included in their website.
- And that's exactly what you'll do to Phantom Brave after you've invested in this guide. This is by far the most comprehensive strategy guide I've seen! It may be tiny (height and width wise) but it goes to show that big things come in small packages.
If you're having any trouble with Phantom Brave, this is the guide to get! The walkthrough is DETAILED... VERY DETAILED. If you say this is a bad guide, you must be reading it upside down.
Speaking of upside down, there actually is a section that is printed upside down intentionally. This is the section that has the spoilers and such. It's printed upside down for good measure too. How many times have you casually flipped through a strategy guide and seen a "certain something" happening to a "certain somebody" (BradyGames FFVII guide anyone?); or even worse: an ending spoiled? This guide prevents that and even at the top of these pages it says in big bold red letters "SPOILERS".
The walkthrough is the most incredible aspect of the guide. Most guides are decorated with tons of artwork to take up space. Well not this one! This guide has text virtually EVERYWHERE and its really helpful too. Nice BIG and clear screenshots with helpful captions. That's not all, the guide has a good sense of humor and doesn't take itself so seriously. It's always nice when a guide reads more like a companion as opposed to reading like a computer. In all essence: The guide speaks to you. Detailed maps and helpful tactics that'll let you win.
As if that wasn't enough, the guide has advanced techniques. In these advanced techniques you'll find a way to beat the game in less than five hours and STILL have all the best items you can get! How incredible is that!?
There's one small little bonus too. If you look at the top corner of the right page (odd pages) you can make the guide like a flip book. Just flip the guide and stare at the top corner and you'll notice Ash is moving. Okay, a little useless but you can tell the authors put their heart and soul into this guide.
Lastly, don't miss an interview in the back with Nippon Ichi. Not only will reading this interview help you learn about Phantom Brave and its creation but you get insight on Disgaea: Hour of Darkness as well.
This is one incredible guide and no one should miss ou ton it. This is the perfect companion to Phantom Brave. Much more detailed than any other strategy guide out there.
- This guide, besides i haven't use it completely, is a very nice piece of art, from the drawings, to the organization of the guide itself. many information and tables. Good work
- I want to start by saying that I don't normally buy strategy guides; I typically use online walkthroughs/FAQs. But I knew with all the intricacies of Phantom Brave, this would be a good guide to get. I definitely wasn't disappointed. Double-Jump has once again put out a fantastic, informative, and humorous guide to help you through another great game by Nippon-Ichi (NIS). It has all the technical information you'll need to really master the game, and understand all its finer points. Almost all the formulas used in the game are laid bare, but at the same time its set up to be simple for those who don't want all that extra information. They even added an extra "upside-down" section to prevent you from accidentally reading some information that could spoil the fun of discovery in the game. On top of all that (and the reason I gave 5 stars instead of 4), they give you a web site you can go to, to get any information that may have been left out (a formula or two), as well as to correct any misprints (such as the stats for Archers). Another great guide, from a great company, to help you enjoy a great game (from another fantastic company).

5 comments about Banjo - Kazooie (Prima's Official Strategy Guide).
- The guide is in depth and informative. It has a good map sestem and is a big help if you are ever stuck.I was stuck serveral times were this book helped.I suggest you try the game without the book but you will probably need it.The game is somewhat simple but the puzzles are hard. All in all a very good book.
- This is the worst strategy guide I have ever bought. What a totally waste of money. I should have bought a Redwall book instead.
- Really liked the way this book was set-up. Has all of the info. you need to get through the game. Also, has info that you need to just "do it yourself".
- The description at the beggining is very informative, but that's where everything goes down. They randomly place the location of Notes, Jiggys and Jinjos below pictures describing where is it. But they put it unorganized.
Next time, i'll test-read a guide before i buy it.
- This guide provides a lot of help if you are stuck on one of the confusing worlds or if you need to find Jiggys and Jinjos. The one problem: it doesn't really provide where the note location are or in detail where the jiggys are at. It just shows you a very small picture and a brief description. Overall, great guide. This is a must buy.

1 comments about Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom (Prima Official Game Guide).
- This is a good game guide covering most of everything you would want to know about the game, as you would expect.
I found an error in the specific level at which an ultimate weapon enhancement item is to be purchased. I dont specifically remember it, but here are all of them:
Pristine Lightstone in Library Tower for 2000
Oozing Orb in Silver Cathedral for 3500
Rune of Anguish in the Kiln for 5000
Orb of Suffering in City Slums (South I think, before proceeding to the Grinder) for 7500
Overall, if you want to enjoy playing the game knowing all secrets, I would recommend buying this.

5 comments about Keno Winner: A Guide to Winning at Video Keno.
- Outstanding book! Just hours after receiving it, I was standing in front of the machines doing better than I ever had before. This is thing is full of secrets so simple and easy, I can't believe I never thought of them before. Pays for itself easily. Highly recommended!!
- Best book of it's kind I've read so far. It has a lot of good information, and it's presented in a way anyone can understand. Also, I do have to admit, it does seem to have helped improve my percentages in winning at keno. Definitely worth a read.
- After reading this book I went to the casino and after a short amount of time of using the strategy presented in this book I hit 6 out of 7 numbers in Keno! Great book, quick read, definitely a book to teach you the right way to play.
- I play almost every weekend on IGT Game King keno machines at a local Indian casino in California. I will admit that I HAVE won more money blocking numbers. I've also seen other people in the casino do very well blocking numbers and playing straight lines, but in the end it's all up to luck. My brother-in-law has won thousands more than I have and he plays scattered numbers. My advice is to stick to whatever has paid you the most money and keep at it. If you're like me then you'll have a few special machines that seem to always pay out more than others. This book is a fine quick read for anyone getting into video Keno gaming. Good luck!
- The book provided very little information regarding winning techniques; but basically information that anyone could acquire at a casino but pushing the HELP button on the video machine; such as payouts, etc. I was hoping for some tried and true methods of improving my odds and did not find any.
