5 comments about Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas(tm) Official Strategy Guide (XBOX and PC) (Signature).
  1. I actually just found out that Bradygames released 2 books, (PS2, and XBOX + PC) for this game. This XBOX + PC Book is almost completely accurate in terms of where it says items or locations should be. Well, I should say that the maps in the "Odd Jobs" chapter are 100% accurate. The maps in the beginnings of the other chapters are -slightly- off (no idea why though), but if you like to explore in the GTA games, a rough location plus a description is all you need!

Lots of maps, Racing maps, weapon locations, actual mission descriptions + storyline, a huge "Odd Jobs" chapter explaining every THING you can do if you're not on a mission, sprays, camera shots, horseshoes, bike jumps (unique stunt bonuses), and oysters will keep you busy for a long time if you're after the 100% completion mark. In addition, the last 5 things I mentioned above have in-game pictures in case you just can't find it.

I recommend it. It makes a good addition to the game itself.

  2. The book was excellent but for those who have a PC would prefer the
X BOX hints also have hints for PC. The light was shining on those who had X BOX not a PC. It does not suggest any of the schools which makes it difficult for those who have trouble, lets say in driving school.

  3. This guide is very well laid out. It will help you if you get stuck. It helps you find some of the bonuses in the game. I only use it when I get frustrated

  4. This guide is in NO WAY easy to use. No index or table of content, and being as big as it is it's not easy to search through without them. However the content is very good, but you can save yourself some money and just Google 'Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas online strategy guide' and you'll find one with the same info, help, tips, secrets, etc you need to complete the game with 100% progress for free.

  5. I have owned both versions of this guide, and I ended up giving away the PS2 Version. It was very inaccurate in some of the locations of items. For a specifice example, the locations of the Photo ops in San Fierro. The locations were not accurate, and not even matched up correctly by number. Even some of the horseshoe locations were completely inaccurate that they were not even the correct location, which annoyed me because I spent a large amount of time searching for something that was not there. I own a PS2, but I use the XBOX & PC version because of its accuracy. There is no real difference, as the guide does not tell you which button needs to be pressed, so the XBOX version still fits.

Also, for those who I know are curious, the XBOX version gives more insight on the dating and "coffee" aspects, unlike the PS2, which skips over it.

  1. This is a helpfull book it tells you the locations to get all 30 crystal skulls, strategies to fight every enemy, combos and strategies for every weapon, in depth boss analysis and stragedy, 160 pages of great secrets so this is a great book like the game is.

  2. This game gets REALLY TOUGH in some spots. The guide has been super helpful getting through those rough spots. It has all the crystal skull locations and good strats for the bosses. Plus maps of all the levels. I'm really happy I bought it.

  3. To the T of where everything is and how to complete the game!!! Great guide!!!

  4. Okay folks.... Most guides suck, but this one is AWESOME. One of the better guides I've ever used.

I highly recommend this WAY ABOVE AVERAGE guide..... You can't go wrong, plus..... it's incredibly useful, even for a seasoned Ninja Gaiden veteran, like myself.....

buy it today, even if it's just as a collectible!! (I'm keeping mine as a collectible!)

    Awesome Guide!!!!

  1. Very insightful, helps me find most of the items I can't otherwise find.

  2. HE RECEIVED THIS AS A GIFT ALONG WITH THE GAME AND IT HAS BEEN REAL HELPFUL FOR HIM TO GO BACK TO SHOULD HE BE UNSURE AS TO WHAT TO DO IN A CERTIAN AREA OF THE GAME.

  3. Good game guide, it's helpful, covering every chapter in full detail, history and free modes, even when sometimes it is not very clear it helps.
It misses some canister locations, among them, the most difficult to find, which is the one in the first chapter, but this is hidden in the elevator ramp behind the crane and it's accessed with one of the cars built in previous sections (attainable only in free mode)
It does not cover the locations for all the red bricks, this would help a lot.

  4. Well illustrated and carefully thought out guide. I played the game through the first time without the guide but then bought and read the guide cover to cover before starting the game over again (in Free Play mode). Really added to my enjoyment the second time through. Helped me find things I simply missed the first time. Enjoyable read, especially for a game guide. Great screen captures and art work. Lots of nice extras.

  5. Most of my questions weren't answered in this book. It's probably because of the lack of pictures and the fact that not all of the missions are listed. The pictures that are in there aren't large enough, either, so it can be hard to know what part of the chapter they're talking about. The book drags along as a written summary of what is happening, including the little clips within the chapters. If I want to know what happens, I'll play the game itself.

  1. I thought I was buying a "Game Guide" as the title suggests. I received some crappy C&C 3 "novel".

    Lame

  2. I beat the game and Beat the last level of nod that had me stuck for 4 months and 30-50 retrys. I was that stuck Sure buying a book cuz of that one level seems a wast, but I WON!

  3. I got stuck in the campaign mode, and i bought this book, it really helped me out. The book looks extremely nice with enough info to help you in any details in the game. Fast delivery and cheap price. I give it 5 stars.

  4. Well worth the wait in the C&C world. Make sure your computer has the muscle to run this game. It does have problems with multiple processors(seperate). It does run well with dual core.

  5. Great purchase - exactly as described - a little slow in arriving compared to the Amazon service.

  1. Great book it tell you where to go in the game. It helps in the game to find health and chest. and hidden art. The only thing it need is more pictures. I would recomand it If you get lost in the game.

  2. Good guide, it has everything necessary, however, it's a little bit short for my taste

  3. THIS GAME GUIDE WAS NICE. ALSO THE GAME PLAY WITHOUT IT, IT'S HARDLY WALKTHROUGH THE GAME. ALSO THE MAP DESIGN WAS GOOD. I UNDERSTAND WELL.
IT'S NICE DESCRIPTION. IT'S GOOD GAME GUIDE.

  4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma is not the toughest game in the series, but it is still plenty challenging, and this book gives you all the information you need to get through the game. I am not one who likes to butt his head against the same wall for hours on end, so having so many hints and the hiding places of the quest items is a very good thing for me. The game itself is tough enough, help with finding scarabs, and health power-ups is welcome indeed.

5 comments about Video Poker: Optimum Play.
  1. I strongly suggest any fledgling video poker player read this manual to learn the basics of the odds and strategies necessary to conquer the casino video poker machines. An excellent basic, introductory text, Paymar also sells video poker training software and strategy cards that are a must for the budding or even serious player. I contribute much of my success at the game to the precepts in this book.

  2. Paymar's book is pretty much the definitive handbook for video poker play today. He discusses every factor involved in beating theoretically beatable games, and at least stretching your dollars and getting the most out of your play in the rest.

Dan disects each of the most popular games in detail, as well as multiple variations of each, and some of the older machines you might still run across. Each is subjected to computer payback and play analysis, and this runs to quite some length (and strictly speaking is not necessary reading). He streamlines all of this information into shorter hand flowcharts on how to play each hand to maximum potential, something which comes as quite a relief after going through his exhaustive and detailed optimum play discussion.

Further, he delves into just what the stats mean. If a game is technically beatable over the long run, what does that tell the player? Well, it means frankly a full-time career of playing video poker, all day every day for months, at almost unbelieveable speed and rapidity and of course with perfect unerring accuracy. It is not easy or simple, and I can't even imagine that it would be fun. Moreover, one's potential edge in even the very best game, with the best payback, is so microscopic, that the fluctuations in the player's bankroll, even with only slight statistical blips, are huge. Don't even think of playing full time at a quarter machine with less than $50,000 to start. His advice in this area is depressing but honest and frankly about the most important stuff in the book.

If the only thing this book does is to show the reader how to shop for a 'good' game and refuse to play short-pay ripoff games, it will be well worth the money. If your play improves as well, that's a bonus. Regular video poker players will benefit by reading this book.

  3. I was very impressed with the amount of good info packed into this book.

  4. Interesting facts on video poker machines. reasonable price fast service. Would recommend to anyone into video poker.

  5. The book is good, but casinos seem to have adjusted their machines so it may be impossible to find machines like there were a few years ago. This means the book may be too old. That seems true on the deuces wild strategy.

5 comments about Winning at Internet Poker For Dummies (For Dummies (Computer/Tech)).
  1. I met one of the authors at a dinner, and he was so articulate and enthusiastic about online poker that I became interested in it-although before that, I had never once thought about online poker in my life (seriously). Later I mentioned the conversation to my 77-year-old dad who had been playing "some" online bridge when he wasn't crashing AOL, and he decided to try it. Well, long story short: while I got this book to see what I've been missing all this time, and read it just for fun (and it was fun, too, written with a sense of humor, and full of information), my dad was getting extremely frustrated and starting to hate the whole idea. After hearing him grumble more times than I could count, I went over to his house, sat down with him, and-completely based on what I'd read in this book-got him up and playing comfortably on a site in about an hour and half.(While reassuring my mom over my shoulder at the same time...) He's been playing ever since, but I'm still too chicken, having played a lot more Yahtzee than poker growing up. Anyway, the book was very helpful for two beginners: a non-poker-playing, computer-confident woman and her un-computer-savvy father who's been playing cards for more than six decades.

  2. First off this is not a 'WINNING AT INTERNET POKER' book...it is a 'EXPLANATION OF INTERNET POKER'. I bought this book hoping to learn something. The first (and I am not exaggerating this) 2/3 of the book has nothing to do with actual poker playing. Throughout those chapters they discuss how to use your computer to choose and download a poker program. I saw that they had a chapter on tournaments. All they do is simply explain the enviroment of the tourney (i.e. how many people are in certain tournaments, how much you have to pay to get into them...) You will not learn any actual strategies or what to do in certain situations. I recommend buying this book if you have never in your life played any poker over the internet. If you saw the world series of poker on your TV and thought to yourself 'hey maybe i can play online' then right at that point this book wouldn't be the worst idea. Let me take an exerpt from the book...page 18 5th paragraph..."If your screen is kind of fuzzy, and you don't normally stare at it for excessive periods of time, you may want to consider upgrading to a new monitor. Gawking at fuzzy images for hours at a time is draining,"...

And if you want more examples of what you are in for buy the book and read the whole thing. Once again to emphasize...YOU WILL NOT BETTER YOUR GAME BY READING THIS BOOK, IT IS A WASTE OF TIME.

  3. I didn't think much of this book when I borrowed it from a friend, but after a few pages I had changed my mind. It's a great book that will teach you to become a very good poker player.

  4. Good for people that know little about playing online. Not much info on playing the game itself.

  5. i thought there was alot of good information and i got my books very quickly. i will use this service again
