2 comments about Terri Lee Dolls Identification and Price Guide.
  1. This book on Terri Lee dolls has some great pictures but not much information. If you really need help identifying the doll and clothes, this is not the book to buy. The book dedicates space to 1/4 page pictures of the author's grand children, Shirley Temple and lots of identical information. The same copy is duped onto different pages.

  2. Basically this book is THE BEST if you are at all interested in the Terri Lee dolls and finding out which one you have, does it have its original clothing and what might it be worth. This wonderful guide begins with the background and creation of the Terri Lee dolls-- beginning with the early compo dolls, the painted plastic dolls, vinyl, and hard plastic, then their recreation in 1999 and also current introductions. It has absolutely fabulous clear color photos and all dolls are pictured with their original costumes and the latest collector prices (for the year 2000). Original boxes are shown for some, enlarged pictures of the accessories, and so much more! You won't be disappointed -- it is truly a well researched reference guide and the author deserves 5 stars for this book.

  1. Though limited in the content there are quite a number of excellent pictures of different models. As a newcomer to the hobby it greatly helped in my learning. There is an excellent list of variations with prices, however they are a little outdated. Good as a starting point.

  1. Any toy collector will find indispensable this survey of 100 years of toys in COLLECTOR'S TOY YEARBOOK IDENTIFICATION AND VALUES, a blend of outstanding, colorful close-up color photos and articles on toy and manufacturer history and toy trends over the last 100 years. Other books focus on pricing alone: this blend of in-depth detail and identification tips offers beginners and avid toy collectors much more and makes for a colorful, inviting reference suitable not just for toy collectors but for any general-interest lending library.

5 comments about The Complete Idiot's Guide to Beanie Babies (The Complete Idiot's Guide).
  1. I really liked this book because it had all kinds of odd information. There is more than 5 blurbs of different facts per page. It has how to avoid counterfits, facts about each beanie, and more. It even has a checklist with pictures. This is definatly the best Beanie Baby book I own. It is perfect for begginers and experienced Beanie collectors.

  2. This is a great book about BEANIE BABIES! This is especialy good for beginner collectors. It teaches you special facts about the beanies and how to collect them. I think if you like beanie babies you should deffintly get this book!!!!!!!!

  3. This book is a good attempt at being different from all of the other Beanie Baby books and guides. However, it is not that easy to read because the authors grouped the Beanies according to genre, not alphabetically. Black and white pictures were not all that useful. Some background information (but not a lot) sets this book apart from the rest of the pack. However, it makes little attempt at saying what makes a particular beanie baby popular or unpopular or with whom. A good guide to starting out in the hobby but not useful if you are already immersed.

  4. Some many books on BBs are simply price lists or have a very limited period of usefulness. This one is different and will be my reference of choice. There is no way to predict what Ty will do, but this is the book that can track what has happened to date. The section on spotting counterfeits is invaluable and has saved me from making a couple of costly mistakes. I also got some chuckles from the creatively posed beanies in the nice color photos. Right after reading my own copy, I immediately sent a copy to my beanie-crazed young nieces.

  5. I just got started collecting, and this book has given me all the background information on what to expect. It's impossible for any book to keep up to date with the actual Beanies, but you won't find a better guide to the hobby itself.

1 comments about Kewpie for Collectors (Kewpie).
  1. This book is filled with lovely color photos of early Kewpie paperdolls, post cards & other paper products that bear Kewpie pictures. Rather than contenting himself with only the very early products that were overseen by Rose O'Neil, John Axe continues with the production of later Kewpies. The most recent are not included, but Kewpie dolls as recent as 2001 are pictured. This is great for a collector such as myself who cannot afford to buy the early Kewpies, but must be satisfied with later reproductions. All photographs are in full color. A MUST for collectors' of the more modern Kewpies.
