1. If you are looking for a great beanie collectors guide,this is the one.Very informative and easy to understand.This book has it all. Pictures,prices and information on all the TY beanies.If you are a collector looking for information,look no further and grab up this book.



2. I just got this book in the mail today, and I must say, I'm impressed with everything!! First of all, I live in Canada, but it still arrived BEFORE the estimated time given! My day just got better when I opened the book. I've been collecting the Ty products for almost a year now, and this is the best combination of information I've seen yet! It's nicely colored, easy to use, and has all the information you'll need to keep track of a collection! Although new beanies have hit the market since this was published, I still highly recommend this book for all the background information it gives.

1. This is a great reference book. This is the only book, so far, that I have found all of the limited edition raggedy dolls pictured. The prices are realistic for the secondary market and the book is easy to read. This book and Kim Avery's "The World of Raggedy Ann Collectibles" are the Bibles of my raggedy collecting. I understand that Jan Lindenberger has an updated version of the "Raggedy Ann and Andy Collectibles" being released. Her first book was my first Bible and an excellent handbook which has now become outdated. I look forward to reviewing the latest edition to see if it is equal to the first and to this one. If you purchase this book I know you will enjoy it.

4 comments about Tomart's Price Guide to Hot Wheels: 1968-1997.

1. This book has been long awaited by the veteran and the novice Hot Wheel collector. Mike Strauss is assumed the "all knowing" Mr. Hot Wheel. This book with the previous, is the most comprehensive and detailed book on the collection since its conception. It would be impossible to conceive the cost to photograph each vehicle and give detailed definition should the collector assume such an endeavor. This book will be an added collector piece to the actual Hot Wheel vehicles. Thanks, Mike



2. If you ever had any Hotwheels as a kid and have have wondered what they would be worth now, or how many colors and versions there were this is the book. Hundreds of color photographs and wheel variations through the years along with current values. Quite a bargain, excellent investment.



3. Lots of great pictures, but the pricing levels are very arbitrary. Also, there are a few errors in the guide as to the existance and availability of some cars.



4. This book gives you a great history lesson on Hot Wheels. The photos are great too! Good for the new comer.

4 comments about Collector's Guide to 1990s Barbie Dolls: Identification & Values.

1. Maria Mmartinez-Esguerra has written a book about Barbie in the 1990's and that is fine for those who began collecting in that decade. However, to really learn about Barbie and her history, I don't see the purpose of this book. A reference for one decade will be lacking because Barbie was born in 1959. That is a lot of history and the years between have told the story much better than this book.



2. The author of this book gives us exactly what she claims to offer. Concise illustrations of the regular "pink box" Barbie dolls of the 1990's. There are other wonderful books featuring the older Barbie dolls but the regular dolls from the 1990's are frequently left out. The full body and close up shots have been helpful in identifying my recent thrift store finds. The author provides us with issue dates and stock numbers and approximate values at date of publication. The specific head and body markings are unfortunately not included.



3. If your looking for a book that would have Barbie, Skipper, ken, stacey, Kelly and friends. This is not the book you want.
   It doesn't even have all the 1990's barbie dolls, it is only from 1980 to 1997. It Only has Barbie, Friends and no family.



4. Ok, Let's get the negatives out of the way:
   1. This book is seriously incomplete. No Skipper, No Kelly, No Ken.
   2. Does not cover the 1990's decade. Only covers 1989 to part of 1997.
   3. The only description provided is year, name, Item # and an inflated price guide value
   
   BUT
   The reason you buy this book is for the pictures. This is THE best book for identifying Pink Box Barbies from 1989 to 1997. She provides two pictures for every doll, a full length picture from straight out of the box and a close-up of the face. And when you have a nude barbie found on the 50 cent table at a garage sale, the face is all you have to identify it. This is a valuable resource for Barbie resellers as an identification tool, but you may as well ignore the over-inflated price value. These are Pink Box Barbies, not Exclusives.

1. This doll book is one of the best currently available in print. I am a big fan of Constance King and her doll books. She is very knowledgeable of dolls and has really done her research. She covers dolls from early woodens (from the 1800's) all the way through to dolls manufactured in the early 1900's. The prices are in British pounds which isn't very useful (unless you take the time to calculate them based on the conversion rate to US dollars), but the pictures and information is worth the price of the book. You will find yourself paging through the book over and over, at all the beautful and fascinating dolls. This book is a very nice and beautifully illustrated reference guide for all doll collectors!
