  1. This isnt the biggest book on Corgi Toys but its better than most and affordable. This book is superb.High quality colour photos throughout of a wide variety of many Corgi Toys and accessories. The photos show various toys from a good angle not the side on view as per the wide short type books printed by the publisher.A very enjoyable book, high quality and inexpensive.

  2. This is a wonderful guide for anyone who is into collecting Corgi toys. I especially enjoyed the value guide in the back even though this book was published 10 years ago.My only disappointment was that the author didn't put more information about the "Character" cars which I am so fond of collecting.

  3. I'm just getting into Corgi collecting and have found this book to be very helpful and enlightening. A thorough history plus great color pictures and graphics. Well-done!

  1. I found this book highly detailed and very very informative. The authors not only did an excellent job of clearly explaining the differences between the 4 basic styles but showed all the many many colors , shades and tints .I especially liked and found interesting, all the little notes and stories of the background of how and why some of these changes came about. The high quality paper and clear photos make the pictures jump out at you right off the page. The photo effectiveness really shines thru, when it came to showing all the various tints and shades of the same color. The pictures were not only close and clear but very vivid. I especially liked the authors simple, straight forward and very effective way that they cataloged these various changes. This easy, open ended system, allows more additions to be included later when they are found. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK. Kudos to the authors, for taking, what had to be a huge amount of man hours to bring this much needed book to the next level . I predict this will be the Barclay " bible " for identifying the small Transports.

  2. I believe that this book will be the one people will turn to to get valuable info. on the Barclay Transports & Cars. It must have taken the authors years to compile all the information in this book . If you collect Barclay's then this is a must have book .
The book starts you off with a brief history of the Barclay Manufacturing Co. and as the book progreses through the pages it gives up more and more detail of every known Transport and Car . The book is very well layed out with it's easy to understand no. system . For easy reference it has lots of color pictures to refer to .
Thank goodiness we have people who are wiling to do the work involved to compile such a book and get it to this high level .
If you don't have this book then you are at a disadvantage .
    Loved It !!!

  1. A brand new year 2001, 448 page reference volume with more than 6,000 very clear, black and white photos and a 16 page full color section. Year 2001 values are provided. A complete index facilitates item location. There is a nice, informative introductory section, and a section detailing the toy makers. Enthusiasts will love looking at the huge variety of photos. If you're interested in these toys, you'll find it of real value.

  2. Either there is a major error on page 256 and 263 or everyone and their brother happens to perceive it incorrectly. The photo and caption are of a John Deere 30 series (2030, 2630, etc.) and it states it is showing a 2010. Two completely different machines! Accuracy and definition are critical in a book like this.

2 comments about Warman's Bobbing Head Field Guide: Values And Identification (Warman's Field Guides).
  1. Very, very disappointed. Book is basically for Baseball, Football, Hockey bobbing heads. Most are much, much older bobbleheads, like many years ago. Not any bobbers from present day Nov. 8, 2005 to last ten years, if not fifteen years ago.
Very disappointed. Don't buy if you're looking for any bobbers produced in the last 10 years. Only ones listed are: Michelin Man no price,Orange County Choppers Mikey & Paul Jr. no price, Bill Clinton, no price, Surf's Up Surfer no price, Three Stooges newer issue Curly, Larry & Moe no price and the last one is Uncle Sam newer issue, no price. Sorry, but that's it. Bad choice on my part to purchase.

  2. Lou has done a magnificent job with this new book. A great and most valuable edition to vintage bobbing head collector's library. A great compliment to Tim Hunter's book with newly uncovered information not yet before available to collectors.

If you are looking for new bobble heads, this is not for you. If you are looking for vintage nodders from the 1960's this is a must have book.

Thank you for the efforts Lou!

  1. This guide gives you an in depth look at pictures and prices for the collectibles you have! Helps you to identify those pieces who may not have tags and assess their value. A MUST have for the Ty Plush collector!

  2. We Ty plush collectors have been waiting for this book. This guide contains pictures and information on Ty plush that I had never ever heard of! The pictures are very well done, very clear. It also has information on Attics and Beanies, but it's the plush section that really makes it unique.

  3. This book is an excellent source of information on Ty plush animals! It is a valuable addition to any collector! I got this for my mother, she collects Ty Bears, and she didn' realize how many were actually out there. Excellent book, very well put together!

4 comments about Toy Bop: Kid Classics of the 50's & 60's.
  1. Tom Frey has put together the greatest book on toys I have ever seen. The book is not a price guide. Its a wonderful trip back in time. Back to the days when us kids had imagination. The pictures are outstanding. I have spoken with Tom and find him to be a very good source of information and you can tell from talking to him that he really loves his toys. If you were a child in the 50s to 60s and want a real trip down memory lane, then this is the book for you.

  2. TOY BOP! This could be THE bible for toy enthusiasts and creators...each page gives reason to why millions flock to fleas and why I personally have chosen my profession. Toy Bop is a what's what map to the never forgotten gold in yer the great mind shaft of memory. And in Toy Bop, the gold never glimmered brighter. From the quirky haphazard classic toys spawned by Marvin Glass to adorable machine guns and one color Marx's, Toy Bop displays its wears like GE at a Worlds Fair long ago. Pick it up, waste away a few hours, and tell Odd-Ogg and King Zor that I sent you.-- Daniel Seifert ---Toy Designer Guy Oddzon/koosh/hasbro

  3. This is a great addition to any toy lovers library! There are quite a few toys shown here that I have not seen in previous books, and believe me I have a few. I thrilled at nice clean pictures of Video Village, the Talking Casper doll, Major Matt Mason, Johnny and Jane West. Lots of Marx Toys, reminiscent of Pennsylvania and my youth.
A time machine for anyone at or approaching 50!

  4. Tom Frey is an authority on Toys from the boomer era.I bought his "Remco Movieland Drive-in from him in 1991 from Toy Shop magazine. His photography and commentary is priceless! If you grew up in the late fifties, early sixties and bugged your Mom and Dad for a "Great Garloo" or a "Remco Drive-in"(like I did),then definitely BUY this book!!You'll LOVE IT!!

2 comments about The Collector's Guide to Transport Toys: An International Survey of Tinplate and Diecast Commercial Vehicles from 1900 to the Present Day.
  1. If you love tin toy and diecast toys then you will love this book. Most double pages feature toys catering for such things as buses, trucks, emergency vehicles and so much more. You will love looking back through the past of toys you probably had and I bet you say:"I had that one!".
The photos are clear,in color and the text to describe each one is exceptional.
    This book is a must.

  2. This is a magnificent album of gorgeous double page color spreads. Everything from pedal cars, die cast, tinplate, and other materials.
A useful feature is the inclusion of the same figure in each spread so that one can immediately see the comparative sizes from one to another. This is especially useful in the case of the early Matchbox which were not made to any consistent scale. Instead they wer made to fit the box!
Thus the overall dimensions in inches are given instead.
More modern diecast is often made in 1:50 scale (metric O guage) and 1:43 scale is close enough to look well on an O guage model train layout.
Not a reference but a dream book: Especially the hard-used timplate Buddy L and pedal cars which were not made as collector's items.
I well remember the Doepke line of construction equipment made in the late forties. Twelve fifty then, now extremely collectable and expensive.
