  1. I don't dominate English very well, but I am very easy of understanding and of carrying out the projects that he explains, everything it is useful and easy of carrying out

  2. In a field with no published works on making fine doll furniture, this is a gem. Keep in mind that these plans are for 20-30 inch dolls. The basic information is explained, but some basic woodworking skills will be needed. The measurements are quite valuable and illustrated plans are good, and one should take note of the doll sizes that will match the scale. All the furniture plans are colonial reproductions. If time and care is taken using these plans, very fine heirlooms can be created for those little girls in the family.

  3. This book has those things that are very hard to find: excellent plans for doll-sized furniture and good instruction on how to make them.

  1. If you buy ONE doll price guide book, this is the one to buy.
    EXCELLENT!

  2. I have more than one of Jan Foulke's Blue Books. I find them useful not only for the price guide, but for the full-color photos that can be found on almost every page of the book. And don't think that only the prices are updated in each issue. Ms. Foulke also swaps out most, if not all, of the photos, so each new edition gives you more visual examples to refer to. I recommend this or any of her books.

  1. Paper dolls for the edwardian era is a great publication for anyone. I was researching into the edwardian era and found that it was one of the most helpful books i could find. My project is now complete with the help of this publication. I would recommend it to anyone just for the pure simplicity and enjoyment of it.

  1. An excellent book for those interested in the magical art of toymaking! The 19 toy designs presented in this book range from a simple jigsaw puzzle to a more complex automated design with a turn-crank. Introductory sections cover equipment, materials, and basic techniques. All of the toys are presented with lovely and colorful painted finishes. This collection got my creative juices flowing, and I even came up with some spin-off designs of my own. Worth finding a copy!

  2. Most of the toys in here are not for the novice craftsman. If you are serious about toymaking this is a great book to use to take the next step both in terms of toy complexity and intended age group. Most of the toys are not for the toddler as they involve mechanisms and small parts that are not well suited for unsupervised use by the younger set.
Beautiful book with lots of color pictures. The motion mechanisms used by the author are a great idea resource

  1. The Blue Book contains a terrific amount of information for all collectors! It is a guide, and market conditions greatly influence any price - so prices do vary. A great carry along to any auction, or sale! I wish that the Antique and Modern doll information would be split into two books - as I find it a bit distracting having to wade through information I am not interested in. Hopefully in the future this can be done and there will be a strictly antique and a separate modern value guide.

All-in-all, a fantastic reference guide to prices and identification.

  2. I normally enjoy Jan's works on dolls. However, I was disappointed by the lack of documentation on such important features as marks and identification of manufacturers. I realize no book can be the definitive documentation on all dolls ever produced, but had Jan included more specific information, it would have eliminated some matches for me. As such, even for dolls I might have considered mine to be, I couldn't match or dismiss them.

  3. This book will help all collectors, experienced to novice, to identify and price dolls. Set up simply, it's easy to find the doll you're looking for. If you can only buy one doll book, buy this one. It's the book doll prices are based on.

  4. First this isn't an ID guide and no one should approach it as such. Books for the purposes of identification abound. The Blue Book assumes you have ID'ed your doll. Second, this is a guide and more importantly it is a HISTORY of values (prices paid at shows, auctions, etc.) since the last one was published. The market has a way of fluctuating and the book is not gospel, just a guide. If you're buying, you can expect to pay more or less than the book indicates. Keep that history part in mind...! If you're selling... well, these are "retail" prices by-in-large. Selling to a dealer will never net you retail. The Blue Book is still the best of its sort around!

  5. Jan and Howard Foulke did a superb job with this book. I just gave the book to my mother, who has hundreds of dolls, and she loved it. Keep up the good work. Kathrine Peterson/author Dolls Aren't Just for Kids, The Ultimate Guide for Doll Lovers

  1. Ms. Moyer's book is an outstanding doll reference. She sets the current prices in ranges, from played with to mint, a feature that is unavailable in many doll price guides. This is my "bible" for buying and selling dolls.

  2. This book not only gives doll values, but is generously illustrated with clear photographs and details are provided. It is an asset to both the beginning and the experienced collector.

  3. Contains over 600 sharp, full color pictures of collectible dolls, from antiques to moderns. Many listings include a brief description of the doll. Estimated values are shown for each entry. The book is a joy to look at. The back of the volume contains a complete 1,700 doll name page index for ready reference. Dolls are grouped by manufacturer. A wonderful reference book, and a bargain at the paperback price.

  4. This is a good general guide for doll collectors. I wish the price guide section of the book was a little tighten, two much of a difference between high and low values. Another good reference guide I purchased recently was Composition and Wood Dolls & Toys by Michele Karl. Check that one out too.

  5. Patsy Moyer's Doll Values provides a comprehensive fourth edition guide to doll values of the most collectible and commonly collected makers and brands. While arrangement of the book by maker and brand necessitate knowing this information for quick consultation, the many color photos aid immensely in making the identification.
