- This book made me like, think and stuff. when i red it i was like "wow, this book is awesome! i think that you should buy it because it was relaly good and very much makes you think about stuff. 5 stars out of 5!
- This book is fantastic way to gauge your mental strengths and weaknesses. The puzzles give you a very good idea of which brain hemisphere you utilize more often, then gives you puzzles designed to stimulate (and strengthen?) the hemisphere opposite the one you favor in everyday life.
- This book is really good. It has explanations of the brain biases (left and right) and what they mean. Then it's divided into two sections - the first is full of tests to determine if you're left or right brained. The second is to help you strengthen the weaker side of your brain.
One downside is that to work out your brain hemisphere, you have to finish all of the puzzles - and there are quite a few. If you took the maximum allocated time for each puzzle, you could be there for over 9 hours looking for patterns and the like! Once you've finally finished these tests, you may not feel like doing more of the same in the second section of the book! But then, at least it's comprehensive and thorough. I thought it was really interesting.

4 comments about Brain Teasers And Mind Benders.
- When I first opened this book of 365 puzzles (yes, one for each day of the year) back when it was originally published (1981), little did I realize that I'd still be reading it almost 20 years later! The puzzles (created by Ben Hamilton, one of Britain's most respected puzzlemakers and the former Puzzles Editor for the monthly "Games and Puzzles" magazine) are short and concise in presentation, and are fun to solve. There are a variety of word, math, and logic puzzles to keep you from getting bored. Similarly, the puzzles range in difficulty so readers of all ages can enjoy this collection. The only weak point to this book is that while all the answers are provided, they tend to simply state the solution without reviewing the logic or mathematical proof, so if you don't know HOW to solve the problem, the solutions won't help much. Still, it is an indespensible and enjoyable collection of marvelous puzzles -- one that will likely stay on your bookshelf as long as it has on mine.
- Gee Golly, When I fist started reading this book I thought well golly gee I must be in heaven. Later on I founed out that I wasnt, but It sure felt like it You shoul Read it.
- The first time I read this book, I found the puzzles very challenging; some, in fact, were very difficult. I re-read the book a few weeks later and found, however, the puzzles were not as difficult as I recalled. I was really disappointed by my third and fourth reading - the puzzles were not challenging at all!
A good book overall, but either I got a lot smarter during the three months I read and re-reread this book (I been taking flaxseed oil daily, which may explain this), or the publishers have devised some way to revise the book while it is in my possession.
- Like climbing mountains, puzzle solving is all about the effort in getting there. Once you reach the top, it all looks so easy, especially when you can see the smooth slope on the other side that would have been so much easier. A puzzle is like that, in that after you have the solution, it is obvious.
This collection primarily contains puzzles of a type that can be considered oldies but goodies. The primary categories are letter rearrangements, finding words or names embedded in phrases, fill in the blank letters to create specific phrases, finding words, phrase recognition and number manipulation. There are 365 puzzles, one listed for each day of the year, although few if any are related to their day and solutions to all are included at the end. The puzzles vary enormously in difficulty. Some I solved in seconds, and others totally stumped me, at least until I looked at the solution, which caused me to immediately whack my forehead. In general, I found the number manipulation problems to be easy and the word scramble puzzles to be hard. Your opinion of this collection will largely depend on your experience with puzzles. If you have a lot, you may fly through most of them, but if you are a novice, you most likely will struggle, although it will be well worth it.

2 comments about Leonardo's Mirror & Other Puzzles (Mastermind Collection).
- Did you know that Leonardo Da Vinci was fascinated with the idea of dissecting curved figures and transforming them into squares? So says Ivan Moscovich, the designer of these puzzles and games which provide a learning experience that he calls "recreational mathematics." This collection of puzzles and games contains a tribute to Da Vinci in the form of mirror writing and a dissection puzzle that is quite difficult to solve. Also included are puzzles based on lines, parabolas, curves, and hexagons.
Interspersed among the puzzles in this collection are fascinating facts about such things as the Kinemat art drawing machine, Fibonacci numbers, and the best way to pack circles. The answer pages provide not only solutions, but also explanations for the answers that present simple principles of mathematics. These puzzles are not just challenging and educational, but they are a visual treat as well, since each puzzle has one or more colorful and esthetically pleasing illustrations. Some of these puzzles are real mind benders, but that makes discovering the solution all the more rewarding. Happy puzzling!

- If you are a puzzle-hound, you will love this book. Not only are the puzzles genuine stumpers, but the colors used are so bright and distinct that the pages would keep the attention of an infant as you turned the pages.
The puzzles in this book cover a broad area; there is no real theme to their basis. From the title, some of the puzzles are from the work of Leonardo Da Vinci, the most talented person who ever lived. Several deal with the area of a shape, others with traversing a figure and there is even one about a bike with square wheels. The diversity of the puzzles is one of the most attractive features of this book, as you never know what the next one will be.
Puzzles are good, clean and frustrating fun, the best are in the Goldilocks category, not too hard, not too easy. That is the way to describe these puzzles and if they are not just right for you, you can always do a little (Bo) Peep at the answer in the back.

3 comments about Artful Anagrams Puzzle Book.
- This book of clever anagram puzzles is a must for scrabblers, crossword addicts, and anyone else obsessed with language.
The book contains illustrations. Each illustration can be described in two ways, each way an anagram of the other. Polsky gives you one anagram. You solve for the other. The linguistic challenges range from simple to maddenningly difficult. The answers are always amusing.
The book is a new word game that is both absorbing and satisfying.
- If you like to solve anagram puzzles, you'll love this book !!!
It offers a new twist by providing both cartoons and words as clues.
This is not your typical "words only" puzzle book.
The answers to the puzzles are extremely clever and often humorous.
I found it to be challenging and entertaining!!
I highly recommend this book.
- My niece loves this book and passed it on to me. These are cute and clever. A+++++++++++++++++

3 comments about King James Games: More Than 200 Scripture-Teaching Puzzles Based on the Holy Bible.
- Doing the puzzles is very challenging. I almost feel like I am in a theology seminary. This book really helps to increase your knowledge of the bible. 100% recommendation.
- This item was ordered for a friend. When the item was received, she was surprised to find that a section was not included. It was her understanding that an eraseable sheet for questions and answers were to be included with and/or inside the book. Apparently Timothy E. Parker appeared on one of the Christian T.V. shows, and indicated that an eraseable sheet used for questions and answers inside the book would be included with the purchase of the King James Games. She was disappointed to find out it was not included.

2 comments about Games Magazine Big Book of Games II: 10 Great Years!.
- I absolutely loved this book! It has fun and challenging games for all types of people. Some of the games are classics, others are twists on classic games (such as a maze in the shape of a fingerprint, or oddly shaped crosswords with modified rules),and still others are completely original. The original games are brilliant, and so are the modifications they've made on some of the old favorites. Every kind of puzzle is in this book: observation puzzles, math puzzles, riddles, word games, mazes, logic problems, crosswords, trivia, and more. They range from quite easy to nearly impossible, but they are all on an adult level. Make sure you read the instructions to each game carefully, or you'll end up pretty confused. I would definitely recommend this book to anybody who loves games, no matter what type of games they love.
- I love to use this book in my classroom. I will copy certain activities to try and get the kids to think. There are a variety of brain teasers from the easy to the more advanced. If you like brain teasers, this book is for you.
