1. I bought this book because I had checked it out of our local library a couple of times and thought I should just buy it! It has easy (beginner) pillows and also has sophisticated pillows for those who want a bit of a challenge. Well written with easy instructions and beautiful pictures to get you motivated!

1. A lovely book with excellent, clear diagrams. The step-by-step instructions are superb which makes the designs achievable by any level of painting ability. The designs are classic and can be easily integrated into any decorating style. No "cutesy" stuff here! The paint conversion tables at the end of the book were a complete surprise - that's what sold the book to me. Bravo!

1. This book is great for the beginner that is curious about using soft pastels. Author wrote it like a textbook in the way of explaining what he is going to do; using a couple of examples of his drawings, then walks you through creating a new drawing using the lesson he just explained. As you progress through the book, the drawings get more complex and more detailed, but the beginner can still draw them and get reproducible results. I recommend this book for those that want to use this easy media for drawing.
   
   This book provides you with the basics of using soft pastels, but at the end, touches on how to draw more complex drawings like the masters: Monet, Redon, Degas, and Mir, by drawing one of their most famous paintings.
   
   Great book!
