- Great selection of patterns for children's quilts! I had to shrink down the pattern I wanted to use for a crib quilt, but the book was worth every penny! The quilt was adorable, and everyone at the shower, including mom to be loved it!

5 comments about The Best of Martha Stewart Living Weddings (Best of Martha Stewart Living).
- This book is beautiful. The pictures are great and there are a ton of ideas in it. I am having an outdoor wedding in September/October and I could not have bought a better book. There are ideas about everything from the flowers to soaps to put in the bathroom during the reception. I am using quite a few of the ideas I found in the book. Love it Love it Love it
- First, I would like to personally thank Martha (and her team) for the wonderful inspiration and pleasure that my family and I gleaned from this book. After having copied flower ideas and taken on board general tips given, on the big day we were bowled over with the amount of appreciation shown and praise given by guests. The results were truly wonderful.
I would like to point out that even though at first glance, it appears that a small fortune would have to be spent to achieve any of the ideas sold in this book, that is simply NOT the case. (In our case, where we took advice we saved quite a lot of money.)
In fact, the ideas that we realized turned out to be the cheapest yet offered the most 'wow factor'. Truly, Martha is a wizard at making the most out of the simplest things. She absolutely knows what she is talking about and I recommend this book highly.
- Martha Stewart has been my role model and continues to inspire me. Her magazines are worth subscribing to. They are filled with lots of ideas. she is a remarkable teacher.
- I checked this book out at the library and had to keep renewing it! I used this for so many ideas for my wedding, and we spent less than 10k on the WHOLE thing by doing a lot of the things ourselves. Many people remarked it was the best wedding they've ever been to. I would have bought the book if I could have found it used, but it was too much new for my budget. Get this book! You won't regret it! Another great book for modern but charming wedding ideas is Jo Gartin's Weddings: An Inspiring Guide for the Stylish Bride. You can have a charming wedding without going into debt!
- I was looking for something for a wedding. This book was just what I needed. Lots of pictures. Highly recommend it. Shipping and correspondence with seller was great. I love amazon.com....Thanks, Angie

5 comments about 500 Necklaces: Contemporary Interpretations of a Timeless Form (500 Series).
- As a jewelry professor at a majoy university, I used to recommend these books to my students along with Tim McCreights books. However, unlike McCreight, Lark Books outsourced all the work to China for printing and never review the editorial material before they publish it. The result? A group of objects by jewelers that are poorly shot, badly laid out and really don't aid the jeweler OR the jewelry collector in knowing anything about the current happenings in the world of jewelry design.
- With way more than 500 amazing necklaces out there in the world that could have been in this book, it's frustrating to have some of the pages dedicated to what would better be described as "scarves" or to see the redundancy of including many similar pieces by the same artists (for example, one piece from the "Guarded Gestures" series would have been enough). While I don't expect everything to be wearable, I would have thought the editors would have narrowed their definition of "necklace" to exclude a 2.5-meter arrangement of rocks on the ground. Overall, it's a good picture book with some amazing pieces, but it could have been better.
- I LOVED "500 Earrings" & had high expectations for "500 Necklaces" so imagine my disappointment to receive a book full of 'art jewellery project work'. Some of the work was interesting & I was intrigued w/ the use of found & recyclable objects & I like when artists are edgy & imaginative in their approach, but one pretty necklace would have been greatly appreciated & the only really lovely piece was the boulders & gold stones depicting a necklace.
- I first took this book out of the library, but after having it at home for a few days I knew I would have to own it! I have four of Lark Book's 500 series, and they are all spectacular. I would highly recommend this book for aspiring as well as seasoned jewelers in any medium.
- This entire series of "500..." by Lark Books is wonderful. Beautifully photographed examples of the limitless ideas and materials used by these jewelry artists.

5 comments about Art Masterpieces to Color: 60 Great Paintings from Botticelli to Picasso (Dover Colouring Books).
- Iknow there aren't many out there who enjoy coloring at my age, but it is a very relaxing hobby while watching TV in the evenings. This book is fun and has great variety.
- Wonderful book! I like the summaries of the artist, the orginal pictures for examples, and the amount of detail for a beginner to moderate colorer is not too much. I bought this book for myself (44 years old), Dad (82) and Mother (78). This will be the Christmas gift this year for everyone in my family.
- Who says you can't complete a masterpiece?
For just a few dollars, you can be Picasso! Pick up your crayons, colored pencils or whatever you wish, and repeat the choices of the Masters, or show Grant Wood how it really should be done with some choices of your own. (I've always suspected that those American Gothic folks would look a bit more cheerful with auburn hair!)
Fun and educational!
- This is a great color book. It took me awhile to get started on it because I was a bit overwhelmed by the "classicness" of the pictures. How could I ever do justice to these great artist? But then I started just having fun with it. Sometimes I try to stay with the artists color patterns but sometimes I do my own; I kind of dolled up the Mona Lisa.
It's a high quality book, I highly recommend it.
- I have several of the adult coloring books, from sealife to flowers to several of the famous artist series, including Van Gogh, the Impressionists, Monet, etc. I just recieved this book and am impressed that it is two or three times the size of all of the other books, making it a good value. Each page has a picture on one side and is blank on the other side, which means that one can make good use of each picture, without impressions from coloring one side going through to the other side. There were a few pictures that were duplicates from some of my other coloring books, but only a very few.

5 comments about The Bandsaw Book.
- I bought the bandsaw and figured I better have a book to help me along. I bought this book with the hopes it would help. It has and will some more in the future.
I did find some of the information redundant as to what was written in the owners manual. But, there are great sections on how to tune up your saw, jigs, projects and a whole lot more. This book is in my shop with me and I find myself referring to it.
I would recommend for both novice and seasoned woodworkers. There is just a lot of good useful information.
- I bought this book because I've been in the market for my first bandsaw for a few months. I've been researching the topic a lot and came across a recommendation for this book in a forum somewhere. Given Amazon's great price I thought what they heck. I found this book to be very informative and pointed out a lot of things I should be looking at when determining which saw to buy that I had not though of. It did this without knocking any brands or given slanted praise to any brand either which I really liked. I don't really like taking a recommendation from an author who recommends a brands that sponsors him. Definitely worth the money and the time.
- If you are thinking about buying a bandsaw or are new to them, get this book! This book is packed with information that is helpful for buying new or used saws. It explains the differences in blades and what you need for different uses.
This book will save you money and guide you to the right saw for your needs. Well worth the price!
- I knew I wanted to buy a 14" bandsaw, but knew nothing about bandsaws and wanted a good overview. It accomplished that.
I get the impression that the author expected the reader to select the topics of interest and just read those. As a novice, I read the entire book straight through and as a result, got a bit tired of the repetition I went through.
It is an easy read and I learned effectively. I still have a couple questions, but was able to narrow my saw selection to two.
- In my humble opinion,,The Bandsaw Book is a great book for woodworkers at all stages of woodworking. It had what I knew and what I had forgotten PLUS!
If you have a problem getting that woodworker a gift,The Bandsaw Book would be a great idea for a gift. I'm glad I thought well enough of myself to give me one!

5 comments about The Complete Book of Origami: Step-by Step Instructions in Over 1000 Diagrams (Origami).
- I agree with several of the reviewers here. As a "purist" I object to models that don't start with a square, of which there are many here. I am also bothered by measurements that do not arise from the creases themselves (eg "fold into thirds".) Finally, Lang jumps from very easy to very advanced, with virtually nothing in-between (and uses harder folding sequences than neccessary IMO, Montroll achieves similar complexity in his finished models with far less difficulty.)
If you are willing to look past these objections, the finished models themselves are frequently amazing.
- this book would fit nicely on a shelf in bill gates mansion. If you're a hardcore nerd and grew up within the 80s and 70s, played with erector sets and studied quantum physics at the age of 2 then you may be able to decode the rocket science behind the drawings and instructions given in this book. nay on the origamay
- An excellent book for beginners and continuing students of origami. Many color photo step-by-step illustrations of simple and more complicated models. Well worth buying.
- This book has some of the most original models I've seen among origami books (including a particularly impressive clock). However, many of the instructions are vague or extremely difficult to fold as described. Some of the more advanced models will take lots of experimentation to figure out what the intended fold is.
- I have enjoyed this book for the past 18 years, and have figured out about three quarters of the full content. But I have been frustrated for the past 18 years, too... I have never been able to go past the 32nd step of the grand piano figure... and I wonder if anybody has ever been able to figure out how to finish the whole model!!! I wish Mr. Lang would demonstrate how he does it himself in one of his videos... and then I would be so much happier!!!

5 comments about 200 Braids to Twist, Knot, Loop, or Weave.
- Interesting book, a lot of interesting projects, with instructions. Do not think it is really suitable for a beginner, but some projects are possible for early projects. Recommend this simply for research and familiarity with possiblities of creative weaving.
- A book like this can be used for decades. It's rich textures and colors make you want to create the braids. I love experimenting with designs like this to see how I can apply them. Wonderful.
- I was really astonished at how many different ways to briad was presented in this book. I wanted it for just 1 braid, but it shows you how to make trim and everything. It is much more useful than I had expected.
- This is without doubt the best braiding book I've ever found, though admittedly the title is slightly misleading. When it says "200" there are actually about 50 different types of braids and the rest are variations based on color/color position in the braid. While this may sound disappointing it is actually incredibly helpful. Every braid has detailed instructions and diagrams, helpful tips and colored pictures showing what the finished product will look like when different colors are used in different positions. This book not only shows you how to braid but makes it quick and easy to find the perfect braid for your project. The book also includes detailed sections on starting and ending your braid, as well as making tassles. I purchased this book to make my own handfasting chord and it is PERFECT, but I will also be using it to make my own trim and curtain tiebacks. I recommend getting the spiral copy of this book so you can have it open for reference while you braid.
- wow! Was very surprised at all the ideas in this book. Very good instructions and visual aids. I am having a lot of fun making bracelets with my daughters.

5 comments about The Best Craft Book Ever.
- This book is full of creative, easy ideas for kids. Cotton fabric dolls, beginning cross-stitch, string art, weaving, knitting, string balls, pom-poms, sun dial (from a paper plate!), paper roses, boats (made from "trash" items), miniature campsite, miniature playhouse made out of a box (including accessories like lamp, chest of drawers,...), magic tricks, making masks, painting scary faces, dyeing fabric, decorations (parties, seasonal), making marble paper, and box-making are just a few topics in this incredible book. It's a must-have for any young crafter.
- This is really the best craft book. My daughter loves to do crafts and she found things in here she just "had" to do...... It has some great ideas we will be turning into xmas gifts.
- This is an excellent book to have in your arsenal of craft ideas. Any of the crafts are brightly illustrated and can be adapted for any class.
- My daughters, ages 9 & 12, were looking to replace Jane Bull's "Great Indoor Outdoor Book" which they had lost. This was the closest thing we could find. It is full of wonderful ideas and crafts, with step-by-step instructions. My eldest wanted to learn to knit, which she easily accomplished using the instructions within. We also did many weaving projects, made marble paper, paper boxes, and salt dough. There was enough to keep us engaged and busy for the summer. You can bet I'll get it back out when the vacation doldrums set in again!
- I bought this book for myself as well as my kids. I wanted to learn how to knit, but any "teach yourself to knit" book I've ever seen is too complicated. What better way to learn than when instructions are simplified so even a child can understand! I can't wait to get started on some of the other crafts too. No dull handprint turkeys here - these ideas are exciting and ingenious!

5 comments about The ARRL Antenna Book: The Ultimate Reference for Amateur Radio Antennas, Transmission Lines And Propagation (Arrl Antenna Book) (Arrl Antenna Book).
- The Arrl Antenna Book is a must have for any antenna designer. Amateur radio operators, shortwave listeners and commerical users will benefit from both the theory provided and the practical examples of proper design executions.
- This is the bible for ham radio antenna design. Also covers transmission lines and propagation. Both theory (at graduate EE level) and practice (at the level of mere mortals). -- ws2i
- As this purchase was to replace my copy of an earlier edition that was lost in a tornado, I didn't have any reservations in buying the latest edition, still a great resource. A nice balance of theory and construction how to do it. I do like that the print edition now comes with an electronic edition.
- You know, I'm just starting out in HAM radio and I was very excited to hear that ARRL makes all these books. So I've been buying them here and there. This one, the antenna book, explains it all (about antennas). It's awsome ! Good from new to experianced !
- ARRL publishes a handful of titles that occupy the pinnacle in ham radio publishing, including their license manuals, Operating Manual, Handbook, and, of course, the Antenna book. There is nothing that really compares to ARRL's antenna book in terms of either raw coverage or quality. While there are engineering texts and a ham radio titles that dive far deeper on narrow topics, the ARRL Antenna book covers a vast range of antenna types and topics - and in more detail than the majority of hams will ever care to absorb. This book can be read for its more advanced technical content or, alternatively, be used quite effectively as a project book. I don't often see this book discounted. I couldn't find it new at a discount at the last hamfest I attended, for example, nor is it discounted at my local (unnamed) ham radio store. Couple that with free shipping from Amazon, and it's a deal!

4 comments about Textiles (10th Edition).
- I use this book as the text for teaching a basic textiles course for sophmores. This text provides a sound foundation for students understanding the textiles and the science foundations that are the base for predicting textile performance. Every line is packed with information; there is no fluff in this book. If you want to understand WHY textiles and textile products perform in specific ways, this is the book to buy.
- I had been searching through all of the sewing books I could find to learn more about the nature of fabric and fibers...and everything I could possibly want to know was here, and more. Absolutely fascinating. It is a textbook, but was written clearly enough that anyone with an interest in the area can easily understand it. I've been teaching classes to costumers and members of the local American Sewing Guild, who are equally impressed with the knowledge we got from this book.
- This was an easy textbook to follow when I took my textiles class. It is very informative and interesting.
- It was much cheaper than my college bookstore and shipping was free. I could have paid less for it if I had gone with one of the independant sellers instead of Amazon directly, but I would have had to pay for shipping. I have enjoyed the book even though it is a text book.
