5 comments about Frio Cooling Wallet - DUO PEN - Keep insulin cool up to 45 hours without EVER needing refrigeration!.
- I live in Florida so keeping my epipens cool is important. When using the regular tubes the epipens comes in they barely fit. It definately doesn't fit when you have them in the protective hard plastic tubes. I haven't tried any other sizes but if it keeps working I might upgrade for the large size frio wallet instead of the double pen size that I have right now. I have had it for a couple weeks and it seems to be working - the negative is that there is nothing to hook it up to so carrying it may be difficult since you're not supposed to cover it up yet you have to carry it in a bag unless you like me run a string under the fold over lid. I also wish they made them for epipens as well.
- My wife, Clara and I took a trip to Seatle, WA and we were concern of the long hours in airports and planes carrying her insulin, wondering how to keep it cool. She even considered not taking the insulin on the trip. Quick thinking, I searched for products that I could purchased quickly and I came across the Frio Cooling DOU PEN Wallet. The product description sold me on it and it worked as descrived and as expected. Clara recommends it!
- This wallet has made my life a lot better. No more worrying about where my pens are or if they are staying "cool". This is a great thing for those of us who need insulin daily and have to worry about keeping it cool after we take it out of the refridgerator.
- I bought a Frio wallet and followed all of the instructions (there aren't many instructions). I always kept it in a place where the air circulates. Within four months, it became moldy and smelled like dirty wet socks. The gel failed to expand, hence, no cooling.
I called the distributor who acknowledged that she had the same problem, but there was nothing she could do for me.
Buying a Frio is like throwing $25-30 dollars down the toilet.
- Makes taking medicine easy while traveling. I recomend this product to anyone who wants to leave home.

- A really cool idea especially if you've ever dropped an insulin bottle before and had to pay out of pocket for a new one! I just don't use it as much as I expected to, especially since we're on the pump and don't have to take insulin everywhere with us anymore. Good idea if you have tile floors!

- This is so great to have pre loaded syringes especially in the mornings when I'm still so groggy or out and about in the heat of the summer while the rest of my insulin is safe in the fridge at home. I wished I had bought a few more, which I'll do when I make my next order.

5 comments about Frio Cooling Wallet - INDIVIDUAL-Keep insulin cool up to 45 hrs without EVER needing refrigeration!.
- This product is awesome. I travel a lot & there is no more fooling around with ice & wrapping the bottles so they do not freeze. I've also had insulin freeze before while in motel freezers before because the setting on fridge wasn't adjusted correctly. Not a problem or worry now. I do volunteer trips to disaster areas & have had my ice packs thrown out or misplaced in the freezer by others....not knowing my situation. I can keep the Frio with my stuff until I'm ready to travel again. I just soak it in water & it's ready. There is no thawing on long car trips or flights!
- This is the 2nd pouch that I have ordered. It is the right size to fit in your purse and keeps the insulin pen cool. I purchased another brand (poucho) and was very disapointed...the cooling pouch only lasted for several months. The previous Frio pouch I had lasted over a year....the one drawback to these pouches is that when you need a new one you have to purchase the whole package, when the outer cover is still in good shape. This product should be offered as a package or as individual items.
- I spent 60 days on the road on my motorcycle. I didn't think I could go 60 days camping with out airconditioning. Shade and air flow were the key, I had no problems with insulin going bad, not one of the 2 vials and 2 pens I took with me.
- Used as directed and lost 3 pens when the temperature hit 100 degrees. Foolish me, I kept thinking that the error was mine because of all the supposed reviews about how great this item is in hot weather. We had a small and a large pack. The small pack was essentially worthless, the larger pack seemed to be large enough to keep for for last for a few hours. Works great as long as the temp doesn't go much over the recommended maximum temperature for your insulin and/or you keep it cool by adding some kind of ice pack. If you're expecting the answer to having to carry around all the stuff in the heat...this isn't going to be it.
- Was diappointed in how tight a Opticlik insulin pen fits in case, causes gell to seep from seams, needs to be bigger.
