  1. I wanted to love these! They're economical and, seriously, how difficult can a pee strip be to make! However, since this is my first month testing ovulation, I also purchased an Answer OPK (no affiliation, those were just the cheapest at Wal Mart), intending to use it during my fertile week (to double check the results of these cheap strips). The Answer results were always quick and clear as a bell-- a nice, clear, solid line, all one color. These cheap strips were extremely confusing-- sometimes both lines were almost too faint to read; sometimes half the line was dark, but the other side was light; and they really DO take 5 long minutes to develop! The cheap strips showed I was surging 3 days in a row, as opposed to the Answer kit, which showed (almost immediately) my levels were rising, but I hadn't yet peaked. This morning-- the Answer kit told me I was surging, a clear POSITIVE (matching all my other fertility factors). The cheap strips-- a clear NEGATIVE! With a history of an ectopic pregnancy, NO WAY am I relying on their pregnancy tests! Quality control on these strips is clearly inadequate. Save your money and your sanity, ladies. Buy a better quality product.

  2. My Husband and I starting trying for a baby in the first week of february didn't really know the exact time to"Make it Happen" so decided to buy the 40 pack of ovulation predictor test with the 10 pack of early dection Pregnancy test Great idea for the next go round well I picked free shipping so it took about 9 to 10 days to get to my house. When I found them in the mailbox when I got off work what did I do, took a Pregnacy test just because I had them, it was Positive!! I have taken 6 out of the 10 test all read positive but but went to the local clinic there test said negative????? Went to CVS bought first response early dectection for like 15 bucks it was Positive. Have an appointment for an ultrasound in 2 weeks life is crazy!Oh sorry ladies never got to use ovulation test now I have 40 just laying around.

  3. These OPK's detected my LH surge accurately. I cannot say for the the HPT's whether they work because I have not successfully conceived yet but there were no false positives and I am fairly confident that the HPTS will give an accurate positive if it happens in the future. Pleased with these and will continue to purchase and use these.

  4. If you've read Toni Weschler's book, Taking Charge of Your Fertility, then you know that OPKs (ovulation predictor kits) are misleading for a number of reasons (Toni mentions 10 reasons, see p. 148). Despite this, I felt I needed to arm myself with all the available information and technology due to my irregular cycles and my desire to get pregnant. So I purchased these OPKs. As it turns out, I'm one of a "significant number of women who peak (LH surge) below the threshold that the kits actually test."

I used an OPK every day of my last cycle. Every day this OPK said I was not ovulating (NEGATIVE). However, thankfully I was charting both my temperature and my cervical fluid and they both told me that I WAS ovuluating and WHEN. 11 days post ovulation (11 DPO) I tookd the pregnancy test that came with this package. NEGATIVE. I bought a well-known over-the-counter pregnancy test and it came up POSITIVE. I just got back from the doctor's office today and my blood test confirmed a POSITIVE pregnancy.

Moral of this story: OPKs have several inherent problems with them. Don't waste your money and instead chart your temps and cervical fluid. Get to know your body. Also, ask vendors at what HCG levels they test for. I was able to find this information on the website of the over-the-counter pregnancy test. This product, however, does not label their product with this information.

  5. I used the ovulation sticks for two months and they have been accurate both times. Definitely cheaper to buy these than the ones at drug stores. I have not used the pregnancy test yet, but hopefully will soon.

  1. I bought these with reservations (since they were so cheap), but for my purposes, they worked great! I didn't feel the need to know early, and I wanted to be able to use the test whenever I wanted without worrying about wasting a lot of money. Got a faint reading about three days before my period was due- even then there was no mistaking the two distinct lines- and the readings got darker and darker each day. If you're wanting to test often, these are for you.

  2. I don't know why people in reviews say that these tests can detect hormone at 20. Instruction that came with them said that I can start testing one day after my missed period. I used to buy tests made in Canada and distributed by early-pregnancy-[...], they could detect at 20 as early as 7-9 days after ovulation day. 3 stars for being cheap, though.

  3. I bought these pregnancy test strips after paying highway robbery prices for tests at the drug store. Since these tests are affordable, you don't feel so bad about doing several pregnancy tests every cycle. For those previous reviewers that said that the lines are too light, I don't totally agree. While the second line was definitely lighter than the first line, the second line was dark enough to draw the conclusion that I was pregnant!

  4. When you are trying to conceive, we all now how hard it is to wait until your period is due to test. On top of that tests are incredibly expensive. I bought these tests and got a positive result 5 days prior to my period being due. It was very very very light, but it was there. And of course because I have 25 tests for a low low price, I was able to test every day and watch the line get darker. Buy these tests, you won't regret it.

  5. This product might work just fine, but the sensitivity of the test is not included in the directions (nor on the amazon site except in reviews). I bought similar strips made in Canada that had that information easily accessible online.
I'll go with them next time.

I have no idea the the sensitivity of this product, and I specifically want to test early.

The package is green--that's a plus.

  1. I have just got to the end of my 2 Week Wait of my 1st IVF cycle and am on official test day and so was keen to know if it was a success. I used a First Response test this morning and got a BFP (big fat positive) within 1 minute! I also did a ClearBlue+ Plus test on the same day, just to make sure, but that was negative! So I used the 2nd First Response test in the pack and that was a positive too!
Therefore the First Response test must be more sensitive at detecting hcg levels much earlier on than the ClearBlue test and gets my vote!

  2. I have taken this test 9 days after ovulation, not expecting anything. To my amazement small part of the test line has changed color. I followed the instructions carefully. I did not know what to think of it, so called their support line. The
representative had no idea why that happened, but speculated I might have some HCG in my system. I got very excited, but the next day the same brand test went negative, with not a speck of color. Few days later I got my period. Was it a chemical pregnancy? Possibly. Maybe the test did detect it , but I will never know for sure because of unclear results.
My suggestion is: wait till you miss your period either way, even if you decide to use this product. Is not worth the heartache and aggravation, trust me. As for me, I will never buy this particular test again. The company refused to refund me the money. I felt its the least they could have done.

  3. Great product, great price and fast shipping. Also these are the new tests which allow you to test 6 days before your period!!!! 6 days!!! WOW

  4. Easy to use and read. A little hard to get enough urine on it from holding in the stream, but the instructions for using a cup worked great for me.

  5. What can I say it works as described. I am now 8 weeks pregnant, I started testing 5 days before my missed period and to my surprise there was a faint line which got brighter and brighter each day. It works.

  1. These pregnancy test strips were very affordable and worked just as well as the expensive name brand ones you get at the pharmacy. They gave results within three minutes and were very accurate. I would purchase them again.

  2. I love how simple and cheap these are! I got some years ago and they lasted thru three pregnancies and I was able to share with friends as well! These made the big expensive tests seem a waste of money. If you are trying to get pregnant and want to test often without spending a bunch of money, get these!

  3. It is great for frequent pregnancy test. The price is the lowest I can find. The results are the same as other name brands.

  4. No need to waste some $10/test. These work just as well and are great for those who have to test early and often (like me). Save yourself some money.

  5. These are a great test for a great price. I like them much better than the kinds you can pick up at the drug store for $7 or $8 apiece. I used one of these the same day I had some blood drawn and a very faint line showed up. The next day I found out that the blood test showed that my HCG levels were at an 8 (Which I was told is consistent with about three weeks pregnant.) I was really impressed that they are able to detect such small amounts. If you want to be able to test often and not have to worry about the cost, these tests are the way to go!

Early-Detection Pregnancy Tests: Pack of 5 Tests By Early Pregnancy Tests. Sells new for $2.85.

5 comments about Early-Detection Pregnancy Tests: Pack of 5 Tests.

  1. Shipped internationally quite fast. They work well, got a faint positive on 11 dpo, which is usually about as early as you can get them. They are cheap which is good since I also use them to ensure that my HCG is rising. More HCG = darker line, to a certain point.

  2. I do not write many reviews, but I felt I just had to share my joy over these early pregnancy tests. Bottom line...they WORK and the price does not compare with the drugstore pregnancy tests. I begin testing VERY early. (Why not at $0.57 per test!) Just 8 DPO, I got the very first positive. It was quite faint compared to the control line, but it was there. I tested the following 2 days and also had a positive bHCG (blood test) at 10 DPO. The one person I told said I needed to wait two days before my period before the home pregnancy tests would indicate a pregnancy, but that is NOT the case with these pregnancy test strips. I ordered 5 packs (25 total) because I figured I would be testing for several months, but if all goes well...I will have used only about 7 of them. You cannot go wrong ordering these pregnancy test strips. The directions are SIMPLE and you can see results in less than 3 minutes. As your HCG levels increase, you can see a result in a matter of seconds.

  3. These test strips detected my pregnancy at 10 days past ovulation. The positive line was light, but very clearly visible. A first response early result pregnancy test taken at the same time had a line so light I couldn't see it without squinting (and thinking I was imagining it). I lost that pregnancy, so I'm back for more! And this time I won't bother with FRER, I'm sticking with these.

  4. I have always wondered about the accuracy of these things, being so inexpensive. Trust me, they really work. I have just gotten three (light) positive results from them and the doctor has confirmed. In fact, these might work just as well as the kind at the doctor - they told me there that the line was very light, meaning that I am not very far along. So if these tests could pick up my not-very-far-along-pregnancy, they must work pretty well.

One note, though: you really do need to wait the five minutes or so before checking the test. I did not see the line show up right away and mistakenly thought it was negative. It was quite a surprise when I returned later and happened to glance at it again!

  5. Wow, I was very happy.
I was very doubtful about using this product since it was such a cheap price-and alot of people had complained of the lain being SUPER faint.
Well I used it and it showed up nice and thick!
-I just had to wait a bit!
    thankyou so much! <3
I got very pleasing results ^_^

  1. Faint positive 6 days before missed period. Very sensitive but you will have to look closely. Fun to see the line darker and darker with each passing day too.

  2. Arrived quickly. These no-frills tests work fine at telling me i'm not pregnant. Glad I didn't blow a bunch of cash for peace of mind. Instructions are printed on each packet. Easy to use, and less plastic to throw away than with the mid-stream tests. Nice to have a big pack.

  3. I bought these after testing many times for many months and spending way TOO much money at the drug store! I have only had my earliest results with clearblue easy digital. These tests are great and they gave me the same positive result the same day as the clearblue easy (of course i had to test it and see if these were worth it!!) ugh!!.... anyways... dont go spending tons of money... use these! Wait the 5 minutes (or more) for your results.... a positive does not show up right away.

  4. About 30% of the strips I received are not manufactured properly. If you look at where the "dipping" portion meets the main part sometimes you will see it is not connected. When that happens the urine will not flow and be tested.

  5. These work just fine and they are CHEAP! They detected my pregnancy before my missed period. When you're TTC it's nice to have a bunch on hand and take them whenever you want without feeling bad about the cost.

and so cheap now i have extra 9 strip any body want this
and best of luck of you
    who try to concive

  2. I have been TTC for 11 months now, and every cycle I am a total POAS addict! Instead of spending 10-20 dollars per test at a drugstore or grocery store, these tests offer a great savings. Very accurate and can read levels of 20mlu and up.

  3. The product came very quickly and when I asked a question they emailed me back right away.

  4. I got these tests because I hate running out to the store and spending at least $10 on just one test! I've used one...came out negative, but they seem to be the real deal. And they are sooo much cheaper! I got 10 for half the price of 1 in the drug store! I will definitely be buying these again!!

  5. While TTC, I have gone through A LOT of pregnancy tests. This is my second purchase from this buyer and both times I have been extremely satisfied! Quality products at a truly affordable price! I would recommend over and over again. I lucked out and only had to use the first two out of this kit to find out that I was indeed pregnant! Both said I was pregnant, but I had to take another to actually believe it. I have since gave the additional sticks in the kit to a cousin of mine who has been spending tons of money on the traditional store-bought tests.

  1. First of all, this is the best lubricant I have ever tried. The applicator tube works great and it really just seems like a natural wetness, which KY never feels like. But the best part about Pre-Seed is that I got pregnant the very first month I used this product! I used it in conjunction with Instead Softcups, which are going through the process of being marketed legally as fertility aids. I left a softcup in for almost a full day, had intercourse four times during my fertile week and ta-da, I conceived my first child. GREAT PRODUCT! Many other websites are full of excellent reviews of this product. I was shocked to see it has two poor ratings on Amazon which is why I decided to give my two cents! Give it a try. We loved it!

  2. My husband and I got pregnant on our very first try using this product! I can't say enough about it! If you are TTC, you should definitely give it a try! Plus, I was able to use the early pregnancy test strips that came with it to confirm my pregnancy without having to go out and buy a home pregnancy test!

Glass Basal Thermometer Mercury Free Basal Temperature By Fairhaven Health. Sells new for $15.95.

  1. I bought this thermometer as well as a digital one, and took my temperature with both for a week to see how they compared. The digital one was all over the place (seemed very imprecise) and made a loud beeping sound, which was very annoying. The glass one seems to work really well, is very precise, and you can get your temperature to the nearest 0.05 of a degree! I read a bunch of other customer reviews before I purchased it, and lots of people said that it's difficult to shake the thermometer down - I was laughing out loud when I read the review about putting the thermometer in a clean sock and swirling it around!!! Too funny... Anyway, I don't know why anyone's having a problem, as I think it's super easy to shake down! Really, a non-issue. Another great thing about the glass thermometer is that you can take your temperature (takes 3 minutes) and then read it later.

  2. This is a great thermometer. I looked at quite a few before purchasing. I am very happy with this one. Several people said they have trouble shaking it back down, but I have yet to have any problems. A few shakes and it goes back to normal. I received this in a timely fashion. I would suggest buying if you are looking for a basal thermometer for natural family planning purposes.

  3. I have no trouble shaking this thing down unlike the old mercury ones that seemed to take much longer. However, it does seem to take longer to get the accurate reading. We tested a few times when we first got it, and the longer we waited (3-4 minutes) the better it got. I would not recommend any shorter than 3 minutes...

  4. My quest for a suitable mercury thermo replacement continues. I have tried the BD digitals, the forehead scanners, the in-ear thermos, and now this. I don't trust any of them! Digitals give a different reading each time you use them so I wanted something more accurate. Basal seemed like the way to go. I know this thermo is marketed for pre-natal temp testing but it clearly states that it can be used orally or rectally. The tube is HUGE! I'm a grown man and have a hard time keeping the basal in my mouth, under my tongue because of the size of the tube. It's extremely uncomfortable. I am sick right now as I type this, forehead literally on fire (but I'm freezing) so I obviously have a fever. After 5 minutes of the basal under my tongue it doesn't even read above 98. And yes when I purchased this I tried it immediately to baseline it to prove accuracy. It didn't read 98.6 then either but I figured hey, probably a fluke. So now I have no way to get an accurate temp reading, that I trust, for myself or my family. Save your money and skip this one!!

  5. I read in many reviews that people were having a difficult time seeing the thermometer go down below 97 degrees. I made the same mistake of looking at the blue line when it should have been the SILVER line. If you hold it between your thumb and first finger and either tilt it up or down, you will see the silver line. It comes with a magnifying case to make the numbers larger. And in order to get it down below 97, you don't need to flick it with the wrist, which was painful. You just hold it in one hand between your thumb and first bent finger and tap it against the palm of the other hand gently, it will go down. (Sort of how a teacher used to hold a ruler in one hand and tapped it against the palm of her other hand.) (Or how you would hold a credit card in your hand). Hoped this helped.

  1. THIS PRODUCT IS GREAT! I WOULD RECOMMEND FOR SURE. WHEN I EXPECTED I WAS PREGNANT I TOOK AN EPT WHICH WAS NEGATIVE. I TOOK THIS ONE FIVE TIMES AND THEY WERE ALL POSITIVE. I THOUGHT MY EYES WERE PLAYING TRICKS ON ME DUE TO THE NEGATIVE EPT.

  2. I had better results with Fact Plus than w/ First response. My positive BFP came in faint but very clearly a BFP @ 11 dpo. First Responses results were so faint that my BFP was questionable. Had I not bought Fact Plus I would still be questioning pregnancy w/ First Response and isnt life stressful enough. I just want a product to give me a clear answer and this one gave it!!!

  3. This is a good pregnancy test. It never gave me a false positive, which is great because that would have been great disappointment. Overall I would say that I would use this test again.
