  1. I like the fact, that there are more tests in the box as in other test kits, but I have trouble to read the result sometimes. Probably because of the pcos... So dont waste your money, if you have pcos.

  1. I thought I was ovulating and used the test to confirm. It worked PERFECTLY and we got pregnant the 1st month trying. Great for the price (although I now have like 35+ ovulation tests left now that I am pregnant but have enjoyed passing them on to friends). Worth it!!

  2. Each strip comes in a hermetically sealed foil pouch. Easy to read. I received instructions with my order but instructions are also available on their website. I took my temperature during the testing period to have back up data. Fun tool to figure out your bodies chemistry.

  3. fast delivery; value for money; easy to use; Indication is clear and easy to read.

  4. I wasn't sure what I would think about the strips but I thought for the price I would give it a try. Unlike the other reviews my strips came in proper packaging with directions included. I went out and bought plastic dixie cups so everything can be trashed after the testing process. This is my first cycle to use the strips and they are very accurate. I'll for sure suggest them to all my friends.

  5. The test strips are easy to use and are a great value compared to drug store prices. The only problem I had was that they e-mail the directions and there was a problem the first time they tried to send them to me. The tests are very self explainitory, but the directions do give answers to a few questions that might be handy.

The strips come all stuck together which is kind of inconvenient. I took five or ten minutes when I got them to separate them and put them in a couple of sandwich bags (one for the ovulation strips and one for the pregnancy strips)and put them in the cupboard in the bathroom. This just saved time and annoyance later. A small basket or storage container would work just as well. Also, if you don't normally keep paper cups in your bathroom, it's a good idea to buy a box/bag of the smallest size bathroom cups and keep them handy too. I wouldn't go for the most expensive or the bigger sizes because its a waste. I just got the 3 ounce store brand and they work fine.

  1. I loved this product when trying for my daughter, who is now 20 months old. I had to wait 6 months after a failed pregnancy to try again and I wanted the best way to detect ovulation. This works, but you have to use it. I gave one to my boss and she used it sporadically and probably incorrectly and then complained that it didn't work. I used it daily, morning and evening and could see definite pattern changes. When the ferning is there it is obvious. I got pregnant in 2 months.

  2. I used this product in May of last year trying to get pregnant...It worked the first month...My daughter is 7 months....I had tried the ovlation urine test for 2 years to no avail...I used maybe mom the first month and got pregnant right away......I gave it to my sister n law who was also trying to get pregnant at the same time needless to say Violeta and Edward are 5 weeks apart...THis product works....If you are having trouble getting pregnant using this product you are either not using it correctly or you may need to see your obgyn....Make sure the saliva is completely dry, and the microscope is fully focused...

  3. I read the reviews and decided to test this out. When I use it first thing in the morning it shows no ferning (even after a half hour or more), but at night when I come home from work and check it again, there is ferning. Seems like there is some kind of ferning every day. It may just be me, but I don't think that this is a reliable product.

  4. Thank you, MaybeMOM! Every once in a while I had so-called "confusing results", however, it turned out that it was not a defect of a device - it means just the opposite: MaybeMOM dit it's job PERFECTLY. Based on my personal experience, I can tell you this: if you do not see you results clearly, or if they appear "confusing", you do not see a distinct ferning pattern, it means that your ovulation did not reach it's peak. If it happens more then during one cycle, you should go to your OBGYN and/or endocrinologist and check yourself - your hormonal levels may be off, and it may be a sign of medical problem. Also, after a certain age women do not necessarily ovulate each month - some times you can only ovulate twice a year, or even less!!! So if you did not see a distinctive ferning pattern, it only means that you DID NOT OVULATE fully! Before you get dissapointed in the product, please make sure you read the instructions, do research on product vendor's site. I tried them all, and MaybeMOM is the best.

  5. This little guy works wonderfully! It's very quick and easy to use and is perfect for someone like me with irregular periods to know when they are actually ovulating!

5 comments about 10 First Response Easy Read Ovulation Tests Kit Tests LOOSE.

  1. My wife tried these from Aleegold Sales with Expiration 03/09. We were impressed by the price and quick shipping, but were let down by the extremely vague results, which did not resemble the examples included in the instructions. Shortly after receiving these, we bought the clearblue easy digital ovulation tests, which were not vague in the least and only gave two positive results on consecutive days near the expected time of the month.

Alongside the clearblue tests we used these first reponse ones and would not have known from the first response strips when my wife was ovulating. In fact the test line seemed strongest a week prior. These ended up being a total waste of money. Perhaps they were stored improperly, or perhaps first response kits generally don't present clear lines. In any case, I contacted the seller and have not received any response.

  2. This product does what it is intended to do. However, it did not come with instructions. Luckily, I went to the website to retrieve them.

  3. We got pregnant on our first try this month, on cycle #1 (on Valentine's Day!), with the help of the Clearblue OPKs. We used the Clearblue and First Reponse OPKs at the same time every day according to directions during my entire fertile period. However, Clearblue was the only one that came up with positives for my ovulation days. I never got a postive on First Response OPKs during any of those days. If it were not for Clearblue, and I had just used First Response, I would have never known I had ovulated and would not be pregnant today. First Response was such a waste of money, time and worrying. Go with Clearblue.

    *OPK = "Ovulation Predictor Kit"

  4. I was very pleased with the product. It arrived quickly and was in the original packaging, undamaged. I would buy from here again!

  5. I was very pleased to see that the tests arrived so quickly. They seem to be accurate in determining ovulation and clearly indicate when it is about to happen.

5 comments about Vicks OviTrack Basal Thermometer.

  1. Because I am a little high strung when it comes to accuracy when taking my temperature, I tested this thermometer by measuring my temperature on both sides of my mouth -- every day. Fortunately, when I ovulate my temperature jumps SIGNIFICANTLY, so I am sure when there has been a change. But for women who have less significant temperature changes, I found this thermometer consistently inconsistent with its readings -- even when taking my temp on the same side twice in a row the readings were different enough to be statistically significant for many women.

I also had the same difficulties with turning it on and off with the little push button at the end that other commenters had. And the lack of lighting is a frustrating non-feature as well. There are far better options on the market.

  2. Despite the other reviewers comments, I actually love this thermometer. Yes sometimes you think its on and its not but this doesn't happen a whole lot.

Some of the complaints people have:
Complaint: It doesn't beep as it takes your temperature.
My response: When I'm taking my temperature and my husband is sleeping next to me, I don't want to wake him with a constant beeping. The beeping the thermometer makes when you turn it on/off is not annoying...however, I'm sure a constant beep would annoy my husband. I've had a beeping thermometer in the past and I've hated it!!

Complaint: It doesn't have a light
My Response: Get a small flashlight and keep it on your nightstand. Or press a button on your cellphone to get a light to see the temperature.

Complaint: It doesn't save your reading once you turn it off.
My response: How hard is it to remember a temperture reading until you can record it somewhere else? I have been doing this every day for the past 6 months and have never forgotten the days temperature when its time for me to record it elsewhere.

Complaint: It gets stuck in its protective cover.
My response: Why do you need to always put it in its protective cover. I certainly don't store mine that way.

All-in-all I think this is a great thermometer. It has been very accurate for me!

  3. I am buying a new thermometer--I HATE this one. Here's why:
1)It gets stuck in its case. Then, when I try to pull it out, the "button" cover comes off and exposes the electrical parts and then it won't work that time.
2)It doesn't have a light so I have to fiddle around with a flashlight to read it.
3)The chart that came with it is USELESS. The boxes to write in are ridiculously small.
4)Sometimes it beeps like it's on and I sit there with the thing in my mouth, but it's not on.
5)It's hard to push the button in the right way such that it recalls the last temperature--sometimes it just doesn't do it. So, I have several days of empty data.

Spend the money on something better.

  4. This basal temp taker is a definite NO. It does not save the last temp. So, when you are taking your temp a 6:30am everyday and you have to go to the ladies room but you need to wait until you temp is taken and you are trying not to wake your husband., its hard to remember to take the thermometer with you; then turn on all the lights; try to focus on the numbers and find some way of remembering the temp after you turn it off. This is no ok. Secondly, its hard to turn on. The on /off button is on the end of the thermometer, so you have to use two hands to turn in on/off. I can't tell when its ready or if I've turned it on correctly because it gives no indication unless the lights are bright to see the screen. It does beep when your temp is read and I would say that's the only normal thing about this product. I would NOT recommend this product. Its bad enough that women who have trouble conceiving spend a lot of money on products to try and help them reach their goals, I truly feel that Vicks did not do their homework on this one.

  5. I have used a BD Basal Thermometer, but lost it. So I got the Vicks one to replace it. I am frustrated that it doesn't save the last temperature - so I have to read it in that bleary eyed half sleep each morning with a flash light. I am tempted to buy a new BD thermometer, cause this one is a pain (Toni W. of Taking Charge of your Fertilty fame recommends the BD Thermometer, so I recommend you take her advice).

  1. All of the positive reviews for this product are true. We had been trying to get pregnant for several months, using the CleaBlue Easy Digital Kit (for which I never got a smiley face). Our first month using this kit, and we are now pregnant!

  2. This is a great buy if you tired of spending $15.00 on 7 tests. Just to make sure they worked I tested with one of these as well as a "name brand" product and received the same results.

  3. I've only been using the sticks for 2 months, and although I'm not pg yet, these do seem to confirm ovulation for me. They help to pinpoint my most fertile days.
