- I ordered these hoping to save some money.I kept getting negative results from these. If not for my ultrasounds at the Doctor's office, I would not have known that I was going to ovulate. I almost missed it because of these.
- We used this Ovulation kit and it did not detect the LH surge however at the same time Answer ovulation detection kit reported positive.
- This is by far the best way to buy OPK. All you need are these and some tiny disposable cups to save lots of money as compared to the ones in the store.

5 comments about Non-mercury Glass Basal Thermometer.
- I ordered this item to use for FAM charting, since I didn't want to use a digital thermometer that would need a replacement battery (since I figured that would be more expensive in the long run).
However, when the item arrived, it was broken. I know many customers had trouble shaking down the mercury (or, the non-mercury), but the non-mercury in the thermometer I received would not rise. I know this thermometer takes longer for a reading than a digital thermometer, but I had to hold it under very hot water for several minutes for it to show any change whatsoever -- and then as soon as I removed it to read the temperature, the non-mercury immediately slid back down to its original position.
When I first called customer service, I had no luck with the woman on the phone trying to get it to work. However, when I called back and asked if I could return it they were very polite, and told me I would receive a refund but didn't have to return the item (this meant I had to throw it away, but it also meant I didn't have to pay any return shipping).
I now use a digital basal thermometer that I am extremely happy with. I would have probably tried a different company's non-mercury glass thermometer, but it seems that (at least as far as I could figure out), this is the only company that sells glass basal thermometers!
My advice -- don't waste your time. Until another company starts selling glass basal thermometers, you're better off opting for digital. It's better than wasting your time on a glass thermometer that simply may not work.
- Hold the thermometer between the pad of your thumb and side of your index finger about an inch from the metal tip and then loosely wrap your fingers around the glass. Beginning with the thermometer at shoulder height, very quickly snap your wrist down and slightly out to the side. A few hard snaps of the wrist work better than a bunch of lighter ones. I hope this helps. I also had trouble at first, but the thermometer has turned out to work perfectly.
- I bought a glass basal thermometer a month ago, and I simply love it! You don't have to worry about batteries, and the thermometer is internally consistent, which never seems to be the case with digital ones. It's easy to clean, and provided you snap your wrist in the classic mercury thermometer style, it's easy to shake down. It comes with a convenient case with magnifying lens, so that you can see the results better. It also retains the results until you're ready to record them, same as digital. I have had great luck taking my temperature while it's still dark out, then waiting until the sun comes up to record it. When it comes to thermometers, you can't beat glass. Works well for oral, rectal, and vaginal temping.
- Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3GEDMK5PB4RZP The manufacturer says this isn't possible. So I took a video. She wouldn't even look at it. Now you can see that this particular thermometer does not hold a temperature even long enough to read it. The opposite problem of others who were not able to shake it down.
Early-Pregnancy-Tests.com is a good company. They refunded my money and I will continue to purchase other products from them.
- We broke two of these before we gave up and bought a digital one. Because you have to shake it hard to get it ready to use it's very easy to drop it. And you only have to drop it once for it to shatter. The product works like it is supposed to but digital is much less of a hassel.

3 comments about 10 First Response Easy Read Ovulation Tests Kit Tests LOOSE.
- We got pregnant on our first try this month, on cycle #1 (on Valentine's Day!), with the help of the Clearblue OPKs. We used the Clearblue and First Reponse OPKs at the same time every day according to directions during my entire fertile period. However, Clearblue was the only one that came up with positives for my ovulation days. I never got a postive on First Response OPKs during any of those days. If it were not for Clearblue, and I had just used First Response, I would have never known I had ovulated and would not be pregnant today. First Response was such a waste of money, time and worrying. Go with Clearblue.
*OPK = "Ovulation Predictor Kit"
- I was very pleased with the product. It arrived quickly and was in the original packaging, undamaged. I would buy from here again!
- I was very pleased to see that the tests arrived so quickly. They seem to be accurate in determining ovulation and clearly indicate when it is about to happen.

- This test kit is more expensive than the rest, but is well worth the money. Other kits require you to decide which line is darker and you end up second guessing yourself, being unsure if it was positive or not in the long run. Using tests that you end up repeating anyways will cost you more money in the long run. There is a definite, easy to read, indication with this CBE test. I recommend it to anyone, especially if you are eager to get results, and I can't believe the low prices on Amazon! Make sure the box indicates "Easy Read". Best wishes to you in your efforts!
- I know this isn't the correct forum for this, but I'm desperate. I am ttc, but having a hard time finding god opk's with decent reviews. This same product as a single pack (instead of this double pack) didn't get such great reviews because some people said the test holder was not reusable. I really want something extremely reliable, as I have an extremely irregular and unpredictable cycle. I would love to use this, but not if the test holder is not reusable. Can anyone let me know for sure if it is or not?? Can I buy this and then in the future only have to buy the clear blue test strips without any holders?? Help!
- After TTC for a year with non digital ovulation predictor kits this digital kit is a relief. No more staring at lines trying to figure out if they are the same or not. I LOVE these and will never go back. What could be better than seeing a smiley face when you are about to ovulate. These are the best and well worth the money!
- those tests with the lines are NOT worth the money you save to me they are worthless they are worse than using nothing and just guessing because when you are not sure of the way the lines look than aren't you guessing anyways? put out the money for this one IT IS GREAT i have never used such a great product worth the extra money no guess work!!
- This was easy to use. The smiley face really helps. Don't know if I have achieved the desired result yet, but no complaints about the product.

- These seem to work really well. The only problem is trying to decide if the test mark is as dark or darker than the comparison mark. This is what tells you there is an LH surge. I have used these the last 3 months. This last month they were really hard to read because of this comparison. I couldn't tell if the test line was as dark as the comparison line because they were so close in color. My eyes were playing tricks on me. The previous months it was pretty obvious when the LH surge occured. A friend of mine used LH surge strips with out a comparision line, maybe those would be easier????
- great price but the test lines are hard to read as far as if they are the same color or not.

1 comments about First Response Easy-Read One-Step Ovulation Predictor Test, 7-Test Kit.
- I was dissappointed when this came in the mail because the tag on the item that I thought that I bought was for a Urine Pregnancy Test. This is an ovulation test. Much less useful, in fact, I don't care and won't use them. I am NOT trying to get pregnant. I think the information on the product website when you place your order should be more informative.

5 comments about 50 Ovulation Test Strips.
- Actually I bought it in December last year. I think it's quite good, especially the price. The test strips help me to be aware of the moment when I ovulate.
- This product is reasonably priced and works as promised. It is less convenient to use than other pricier products because one has to pee in a cup, wait for 5 minutes before dipping the stick, and then one needs to wait again for another 5 minutes to see the results. But I still prefer this because I am conservative and tend do more daily tests per month than normal to make sure I catch the surge. I can afford to do that with this product.
- These are wonderful tests and a financial God-send. I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), which means I normally don't ovulate - hence becoming pregnant is difficult. Having the information from these strips was great for our "trying to conceive" journey, both for us and for our doctor. But also, having to use these for more than 9 months before we finally did conceive, the difference in cost between these and what is available in stores was wonderful. I knew we were in this for the long haul, and I'm so glad I found these strips before we actually began to try.
I used them for about 15-20 days of each cycle for nine months, never seeing an actual positive result. I admit, I did wonder whether they actually worked or not. But after three months of metformin (glucophage), my body regulated and ovulated, and these tests detected it. There was no question - I had a positive test. And two weeks later, a positive pregnancy test. I absolutely recommend these strips. I ovulated on day 25 - much later than you'd usually think ovulation would happen. Thanks to these tests, I knew.
No, they don't come in frilly packaging. And yes, I was shocked at first at how it just came in a manila envelope, no instructions. But the tests are individually packaged and sterile. Paying for the frills just isn't worth it to me - I'd rather save that money to buy the baby something! Plus, I prefer the "pee in a cup and dip" method to the midstream tests - somehow I managed to complete nine months of never peeing on myself while peeing in a cup, but when I try one of those midstream things, it goes everywhere.[...]
- I just received my order. The strips are individually packaged in sealed foiled packages. The plastic wrap is only used to hold together the sealed packages, not the individual strips. The strips are tiny, slightly larger than a matchstick. Keep in mind that these are dipping strips, not mid-stream strips, so you'll need a cup to capture your urine.
The instructions were e-mailed to me promptly when the package was mailed, so I had them a week before I received the actual strips. They ship from Canada, so it can take up to a week to get to the US.
I've only used one strip so far, and it worked exactly as it should. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and I'd buy these again.
- Do not believe them...there are no instructions. The product is of low quality and a rip off. I don't know the difference between the positve or a negative. They are tiny (which doesn't matter if they really worked)and they fall apart extremely easily. The pos./neg. mark is nowhere is says the mark should be... it is utterly confusing.
