5 comments about Nit Free Terminator Lice Comb, Professional Stainless Steel Louse and Nit Comb for Head Lice Treatment, Removes Nits.

  1. This is without a doubt, the best comb on the market. It will not pull out every nit, but if you have a bad infestation, you can save yourself literally HOURS of time. It will get alot of the nits without picking, and then you can look for and pick out the leftovers.
If you have kids, BUY THIS!!

  2. My daughter and children had a lice problem that seemed impossible to eradicate. They tried just about every remedy they could find, but nothing worked. Then they found a professional lice removal person and this is the comb she used in her business. She charged a lot of money for her services, but one could also just buy the comb. Unfortunately, she ran out of combs to sell, so my daughter searched and found the comb here at Amazon.
It is such a great comb! The lice problem has been solved in their household. I highly recommend this product.

  3. I had read all the rave reviews before I purchased this comb, and I thought it would be very easy to use. It works well enough for my 7-year-old daughter's hair, with some pulling of hair and pain involved, but it's very difficult to use for my thick, wavy hair. I also wish that the maker of this comb would also come up with some sort of a cleaner for the VERY tight grooves on the comb. Just washing the comb doesn't clean the dirt that collects. Having said all this, it worked well for my daughter, so I'm happy for her. I just think the product can be better.

  4. This comb is better than most, but it's hard to clean and it still misses some of the tiny eggs. My advice to any family battling lice: Don't waste another minute, go invest in a magnifying lamp like this model... Lighted Desk Magnifying Lamp w/ clamp. I used it to examine my daughter's blonde hair up close after shampooing and rinsing with vinegar. Then when I spotted an egg, I cut the strands of hair (as few as possible) close to the root. Much easier -- and less painful -- than trying to comb or pull it out. This was a daily ritual for a week! I checked her every other day for another week just to make absolutely sure the nasties were really gone.

  5. This comb works great! The fine tines helped us get through our children's fine hair quite effectively, which is something other combs hadn't been able to do.

  1. We tried the pre-mix of Kleen Free for our house full of scabies and it worked fine.. so we ordered the 128oz concentrate to complete the full treatment. After we mixed it 8 to 1 with water we used it to bath in, wash our clothes with it and spray it around the house for a few times. But it killed all the scabies or mites that we had. Our family is bug free now, they were driving us crazy. Thanks .. we recomend it highly.

  2. I'm not sure that there is anything besides vinegar in this product. I sprayed my bed after a bed bug scare. The vinegar smell eventually goes away, but I noticed more bugs (not bed bugs) after I sprayed my furniture than before. I wouldn't NOT get this product. I'm all about being green but this one didn't work for me.

  3. It's hard to tell if it "kills" the scabies mites which might be in your bedding. I think good old soap and hot water is enough to accomplish what they purpote this product does. Buyer beware. I wasted my money, please save yours.

  4. On the web it said it is Insect Eliminator. But on label of the delivered product that said it is leaner for many purpose, it can be used clean the dirt of insect infection area, but can not be used as inset eliminator.
It wasted my money and time. I had to buy another produce to kill bed bug.

  5. This product helps control the dust mites that I am allergic too. Thank you for making a product that is non-toxic so I do not have to worry about my pets.

  1. it really does what it says it does, this has been a nightmare experience for me with my three daughters and this makes it so much easier!

  2. Well it does exactly what it says and if you have spent hours looking through your kids hair you'll know how every little thing helps. It works best with short hair, like my son's, but you have to keep separating and spraying for longer hair like my daughters. It makes finding the eggs soooo much easier. We used it with the RobiComb and the combination of the two did in 10 days what almost 2 months of shampoos, mayonnaise, and vigilant combing had not been able to. Getting rid of lice is not easy, and don't believe what some ads tell you, you have to get all the eggs and kill all the live 'crawlers' every day for at least 10 days to make sure you have got rid of them - and this combination just makes that laborious task that bit easier.
    Yeah, we recommend it!

3 comments about RID Lice Killing Shampoo (Available in 2-oz or 4-oz).

  1. This product and its comb are useless. The pharmacist and pediatrician later explained that most types of head lice have developed resistance to OTC products like Rid and Nix. The shampoo kills nothing and the plastic comb fills with gunk and is impossible to clean, much less sterilize. It almost seems like a [...], since the instructions say you will have to keep buying and reapplying more. I did that a few times before knowing that ingredients in Rid can be toxic.

We ended up using a stinky, expensive prescription solution (Ovide) once, then going through the washed hair daily with tweezers and scissors for a week. Looking through a magnifying viewer with a built-in light made it MUCH easier to spot the eggs. I suspect that's one reason lice are so hard to kill -- the eggs near the scalp are almost microscopic and most combs pass right over them.

If you're reading this, you have my sympathy. Dealing with lice is like having a second full-time job! Good luck to you.

  2. The directions state to shampoo "dry" hair with RID for ten minutes and then rinse out. The second step is to use the provided gel and comb to get out the resulting dead lice, and also remove any nits/eggs at the same time. Finally, repeat process in 7-10 days. DON'T FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS!

The reality is that the eggs can continue to hatch before the end of 7 days since you don't know how old the eggs are. And, per information I read on the internet about the active ingredients, it is highly recommended NOT to use the product before 7 days since it is a pesticide that can cause great harm to some children.

After reading a lot of the available information on the Internet via Google search, we found the best approach is to use a good metal, fine toothed comb (Terminator Lice comb found on Amazon) and Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser as the gel to wet the hair for removing nits/nymphs and adult lice. We are making good progress. Also, we're finding some success rinsing the girls hair with vinegar to help loosen the nits that are literally cemented to the hair shafts. Two days into this process and we are finding fewer and fewer nits/nymphs each time. We're down to less than five and hope to get to zero in the next day or so from what we've read from other parents on blogs, etc..

ONE LAST PIECE OF ADVICE: don't let your daughter or son share helmets for T-ball or junior softball. This is a huge mistake. Go buy one and save yourself the agony of dealing with this dreadful parasite.

  3. I thought I had pubic lice, so i used this. I later found out that it was genital fungus, so I can't really tell if it works or not. But the itching has stopped!

2 comments about Ace Comb 3-3/4" Extra Fine Tooth "Lice Comb".

  1. Life begins with your first "baby comb," a fine toothed comb for that extra fine baby hair. During the '40s and '50s this was sold as an "Ace Genuine Hard Rubber" baby comb. It was featured in drug stores with other baby gear. Alas, at 60, I've returned to to using an Ace baby comb. Gone is Ace. Gone is the "genuine hard rubber" comb. But, still, such a fine comb on thinning hair makes my hair shiny. I love to use first a regular comb, and then watch my hair shine up after passing this fine toothed baby comb through my hair. It adds a significant luster. My 4-star rating is because, today, the comb is plastic. It's no longer hard rubber, and a tad scratchy over your scalp in contrast to its predecessor.

  2. For some 40 years this style Ace comb has been used in the household. (Noted as a Lice comb for removing lice and nits, we haven't needed it for that task. It's fine tooth and gentle profile is great for removing stuff from the hair but also from the scalp. In the winter often members of the family will get dandruff as we are of a sensitive skin nature. When flakes appear, prior to shampooing, we will take baby oil and rub into the scalp and let sit for 5 minutes or so. Then stimulate the scalp with the comb will combing the hair. Dandruff is loosened and removed with a moderate touch. Shampoo with a good shampoo with out conditioners then use dandruff shampoo of choice. Neutragena is my favorite. This will help keep the flakes at bay for a week or more and then repeat as necesary.

1 comments about Licenex Head Lice Treatment Shampoo.

  1. Amazing. I have two children, a girl 7, and a boy 5. When my daughter started school we began catching nits. After 2 full years of school we've had 6 cases! I was horrified at the chemicals we had to apply to get rid of them. My daughter developed a severe rash the first time we used one product and I developed a mild rash the second time we used it. In addition my son has sensory integration disorder and does not cope at all well with the fine combs used to remove eggs.
To avoid putting chemicals on ourselves unnecessarily I began examining any "nits" found during comb-throughs under a microscope, to ensure that they were in fact nits. This saved a number of unnecessary treatments. We tried various natural or herbal treatments, with limited success. Then I discovered this product. Unlike most treatments which rely on either poisoning (usually with pesticides) or smothering, this product uses enzymes to attack the exoskeleton of the lice.
I was extremely skeptical the first time I used it. I did comb-throughs to check for lice 1, 3, 8 and 14 days later, using the microscope if I found anything. I didn't find a single thing on my daughter, and didn't do a repeat treatment on her. I did do a repeat on my son but I think this was because he had wriggled around and rinsed off some off the formula before the full time had elapsed. I never found a thing after the second treatment.
I am amazed at how well this worked. It treats both the lice and the eggs. It has simplified my problems with getting my son to undergo treatment and we don't have to use toxic products. The company offers a money back guarantee and I highly recommend that you try it.
However, be aware that there are several products on the market with similar names (Licex, Liceadex) and I have no idea how well these other products work.
