2 comments about Band-Aid Anti-Itch Gel for Insect Bites and Poison Ivy,Oak or Sumac, 3-Ounce Tubes (Pack of 4).

  1. Rhuli gel was the best product I have ever tried for fast itch relief from insect bites. I was so disappointed to find that I could no longer buy it. Now I'm thrilled to find that Band-Aid brand is actually the old Rhuli gel reincarnated! This is an awesome product. I highly recommend it.

  2. I had been using Rhuli-Gel for years. Now Band-Aid brand has bought them out and is selling it as Band-Aid Anti-Itch Gel. My sister introduced me to it when I'd received a particularly bad mosquito bite, and the itch was gone almost immediately. I often use it for heat rash, where it's equally effective. Now I live in New Zealand, where this product isn't available, so I either pick up extras when I'm in the US or have my relatives send me some when I run out. I NEVER want to be without it!

1 comments about Gold Bond Medicated Powder - 10 Oz.

  1. Gold Bond Medicated Powder is an essential. This external analgesic product helps us relieve our minor skin irritations, including little rashes, scrapes, and bites. It helps dry the oozing and weeping from poison sumac, poison oak, and poison ivy. When the weather is hot, we need it to heal our rashes; when the weather is cold, we put on more clothes and we need our Gold Bond then. It absorbs moisture, relieves itching, and cools our skin.

We have to be careful not to allow it to make contact with our eyes. It can burn any mucus membranes.

It is medicine that helps us. It has been helping people since 1908.

    Highly recommended!

5 comments about Bug Off! Glow In The Dark Biting Insect Repelling Wrist Band - 1 ea.

  1. This is the best thing on the market. I get attacked with candles burning. The bugs always find the one spot that didn't get sprayed with the repellant. Bug off keeps them all at bay. I do wear 2 of these on the worst days since I am an extreme case. My husband wears these when he works construction everyday. I can get my son to stop and slip this on before playing outside. There is no sticky mess, no hot wax. I keep this in the plastic case and if you take care of them they will last a long time. I always have half a dozen in my house.

  2. Last year I had a 1st degree burn on my right hand and I was scheduled to go into the jungles of South America on a missions trip where they have exotic bugs and mosquitoes that cause severe injuries. My doctor told me if i had gotten bit, EVEN ONCE, my hand will be in danger of a DANGEROUS infection with very coslty hospital bills. This came highly recommed by several people I knew and I purchased it and it was GOD-sent! not one bite, except for literally one i felt on my toe about ten days later when I returned to the United States. Yes, I AM A VERY PLEASED CUSTOMER !!!!!!

  3. I'm a mosquito magnet who lives in Florida. I hate the oily feel of bug repellent (and do not like exposing myself to chemicals), so I wore two of these bands on my ankles when I went to look at trees at a tree farm in Bokeelia. In 25 minutes I had 52 bites everywhere my shorts and tank top didn't cover. To add insult to itchiness, some of the bites were RIGHT NEXT to the wristbands. I believe the reviews that said it worked for them; it just didn't work on me or perhaps the vicious Florida mosquitos. I've been putting up with the oily feel of Herbal Armor, which is all natural and seems to work; however, my husband went back to the tree farm WITHOUT me.

  4. I am one of those people who gets eaten alive when no one else gets a single bite. I literally got over a dozen bites when I was waiting for a bus for less than 5 minutes (yes, this is in a city, doesn't make it any better). Needless to say I was skeptical, especially since citronella candles are generally pretty useless, but it worked like a miracle! I've tried it on my ankles (I get most bites on my legs) and on my wrist, and I have never got bit ONCE. It's totally amazing. I stored it in a ziplock bag and it lasted for nearly two weeks (although the package says it will last for about one week). HIGHLY recommended from a highly satisfied, very tasty (to mosquitoes) Amazon customer.

  5. I used this bracelet on my four year old child at a woodsy lakehouse in east Texas. Generally we have to spray him down with "Off", which is sticky, stinky and contains DEET. He chose to wear the bracelet on his ankle most of the time (we used the same bracelet over a 3 day weekend) and he never got a single mosquito bite. I have tried another brand that worked also but it had snaps, where this is just a stretchy cord that a child can easily put on, plus it can be worn out of the way on the ankle. The glow in the dark version is fun for kids also, but I am buying more of these so we can all use them. It comes with a case to store it in to retain freshness. The only drawback to the bracelet at all is that the smell can be strong (citronella-like) if it is near your face--another advantage to wearing it on the ankles. We found that wearing it in water did not affect its effectiveness or scent.

5 comments about Tecnu Extreme Poison Ivy Scrub 4 Oz..

  1. I have suffered from poison oak-ivy for as long as I can remember and I am in my 50's now. No matter how I try to avoid it I still seem to get it about 3-5 times a year. Most of the time I get on my face and have to go to the doctor and get at least two shots. Last time it took me 4 shots to get rid of it.

I will argue with anyone that this stuff does spread. It starts on my arms and ends up everywhere until my eyes are so puffed up that I can't see out of them.

The only thing that helped me from getting this stuff was a series of shots, that was given out about a decade ago, and is now not available.

So I plan on buying this stuff in bulk for the future. It works. If you follow the directions it works. Just a few weeks ago I was doing some weeding and got it on my face and arms (was wearing long sleeve shirt pants, and socks. Followed the directions got a few spots still, but it did not spread and it did not drive me nuts from itching.

Thank you tecnu, I can have a life again,

    Linda Creswell

  2. I was sold on this product until I used it. It does not help poison ivy outbreaks at all. It does NOT shorten its rash life. It does NOT reduce itching. It does NOT reduce rash life. This product is good for nothing except emptying your wallet.

  3. This product is a great alternative to scratching. I'm not sure how much it actually helps in stopping itch altogether, but it's a wonderful prep for another treatment, such as Ivarest. I use this as the first step of treatment of a confirmed outbreak, not as a preventative cleansing. For that I use regular Technu. When I know I've been infected, I use this product to thorougly scrub the infected area, which cleans away all the offending oils. The abrasive texture also gives a nice, scratching relief, which help in avoiding scratching with your fingers. After the scrubbing I immediately start treatment with Ivarest.

For me, this is an essential ingredient in treatment of a real outbreak.

  4. Like most people, I'm allergic to poison ivy and poison oak and have had innumerable cases throughout my life ranging from mild to severe. Absent a shot of cortisone for a moderate-severe rash, Tecnu Extreme works well at reducing itching and speeding healing. However, Johnson & Johnson has come out with Cortaid -- same function and effect -- for less than half the price of Tecnu.

  5. I *love* this product. It really works.

I am extremely sensitive to poison ivy/sumac/oak. Very small exposures cause terrible itchy rashes. What's more, I am allergic to common ivy as well. We have outdoor cats, and ivy all around the property. When I pet my cats, therefore, I am often exposed to ivy oils.

This stuff has the following properties that make it so excellent:

    1. It removes the oils that cause the reaction. When I know I've been exposed, I scrub the exposed areas with this stuff and it usually prevents all reaction. If I've waited too long, it still cuts down drastically on the severity of the reaction.

    2. It is abrasive. Often I don't know I've been exposed until my skin starts to itch something fierce. Scrubbing with the so-called "fine scrubbing beads" feels like the most satisfying scratch you can imagine, which is a relief. (I assume that it also helps remove oils by mechanically removing the top layer of skin.)

    3. It relieves itch. This product has an anti-itch ingredient that works very well (better than cortisone in my experience). After scrubbing with this stuff, my maddening itch goes away completely.

The scrub rinses easily with no residue, and has a neutral odor. I keep my tube handy at all times! I can strongly recommend it to anyone who has sensitivity to plant oils!

1 comments about Avon SKIN SO SOFT Bug Guard Plus IR3535® EXPEDITION SPF 30 Aerosol Spray.

  1. We recently purchased several bottles. Our family goes fishing quite often during warm weather. Ask any NY freshwater fisherman, part of the experience is walking through woods infested with all kinds of bugs to fishing areas.
Just when you think you're in the clear on the water there's more bugs. Not
to mention the sun beaming on everyone. Avon to the rescue! Not only does
it keep bugs from invading our personal spaces, SPF 30 also allows us to get tan without any red burns. Bonus: You don't smell like poison - like other bug repellents.

4 comments about SC Johnson #01842 Off! 6OZ Deep Woods.

  1. I'd rather fend off the bugs than come down with West Nile virus.

We used this product on a recent camping trip and found it to be safe and effective.

With Off you can camp out, without a net encasing your entire camp site, and without mosquito netting hats.

Go camping, and put on some Off. Enjoy the woods and the open air.

  2. I bought this mainly for fleas because i have a lot of pets and even though there have there collars you still get a few fleas around the house the first day of using off the flea bits were less and less and now i spray myself just to be on the safe side but i have no more flea bits. WONDERFUL

  3. i bought this insect repellent to take with me to Palestine, where mosquito bites are a fact of life. this product has a distinct odor that is unbearable. this product works, however, i used this product twise and then i simply perfered the maddining mosquitoes to the smell of the repellent.

  4. Okay, here's the thing. I'm all about organic and natural is good and all that, but use a little judgment and think critically. Knee-jerk reactions to DEET because it sounds so synthetic and toxic are not necessary. It's been tested. It's safe for your kids, even as young as 6 months old. It's not good to get it into the eyes and mouth, so do what makes sense, don't spray the fingers of a pre-schooler, but use it on the arms and legs, a light spray. It doesn't have to be a high concentration of DEET. From what I've read, I don't think you gain much in efficacy at 50% over 20%.

I don't go out of my way to have chemicals around me. But what do people think is in those citronella candles? Somehow that's seen as benign, and who knows what chemicals get liberated as that smoke fills your little picnic. Anyway, watch those bugs fly right through the plume of smoke on those candles and try and convince yourself that they are effective.

DEET is not natural. Mosquitoes are all natural. Eastern equine encephalitis is an all natural virus, not man-made, not manufactured in some cold, sterile lab.

Malaria. All natural. Arsenic is natural too, completely organic.

I once knew a guy with head lice who wouldn't cut his dreads because his dreads represented something very important to him. Nice guy too, I wanted to sympathize, but I thought a little misguided. Another buddy of mine, in admonition, adlibbed: "Dude! Peace and love, but bugs are bugs." Hearty laughs all around. Guess you had to be there. But that line has stayed with me.

Strive towards organic solutions, but do what makes sense. Be smart, be safe, protect your kids.

1 comments about Cortizone 10 Hydrocortisone Anti-Itch Intense Healing Formula Cream - 2 Oz.

  1. This was my first use of any oner-the-counter cortisone product and I was pleasantly surprised. I had been bothered by a nagging rash on my chest for several weeks and even the doctor recommended would not get rid of it. The Cortisone 10 worked so well I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs itch relief.
