1. Tasting like candy syrup, this stuff really calms a cough and cold.
   I inhale it- like 2 teaspoons every 4 hours as much as I can.
   It clears up my cough as I am getting over a virus.
   Nothing else works like this stuff- not even Robitussin DM or strong mentholated cough drops.
   This and blue Ricola= will take care of a cough anytime.
   
   Tastes great and works- but largely only known in the Asian community due to packaging. The best home remedy there is.



2. No vile disgusting medicine taste. This is actually a pleasant minty, herb honey taste. I have been drinking this stuff since I was a kid and I can't stand over the counter couch and throat medicines.
   
   Perfect in a cup of hot water to really get the total effect of this syrup. Great for throats that are getting just a little scratchy to helping loosen phlegm.
   
   Won't ever stop taking this stuff.

1. This Cough Syrup works really well! I didn't buy it from Amazon because I needed immediately during the weekend. My 13 months boy was coughing and wheezing...after only one day of dose, he is not even coughing anymore!
   I love it! I got tired of too many medications....this is natural and I really recommend it!



2. My son had a rotten cold and cough and we'd tried everything OTC and some prescription medication that his pediatrician recommended. Nothing controlled his annoying dry cough.
   
   I've had great luck with homeopathic remedies in the past, so bought this. He stopped coughing after 2 days and didn't once complain about taking it, because it tastes good.
   
   Cold season is coming up, so I bought a few bottles to have on hand.



3. This is GREAT stuff to take when you have a cold. It significantly reduces the duration of our colds, although it works better for some people than for others.

1. Upon seeing a commercial for this, immediately I wanted to get my hands on a bottle. About a week later, I did.
   I'd always been a fan of the orange-flavor, so I was even more excited to taste it in grape(orange, the 2nd best-tasting syrup in my opinion, is no comparison to the flavor of this product). Effects, dosaging, drug and even price are the exact same, the only difference is that the box is an awesome purple and the formula is a yummy, thick syrup.
   I've tried different syrup brands, possibly in the mid-double digits. This is the most delicious tasting syrup available, unless and until they make a generic that tastes similar(it could be less thick).
   The drug works for around 12 hours, sometimes less and sometimes a little more, depending on circumstances(other medications being taken simultaneously, full/empty stomach, drug/alcohol consumption, etc). Most find that the recommended dosage seems to last all day, and work effectively. To note, MAOI'S may be fatal if taken with DXM, as the same for many other drugs(all vary in danger, from moderate discomfort to fatality.) So do your research before consuming this product or giving it to your children. My daughter also enjoyed the flavor(she's three and not exactly picky but hates the other nasty flavors of other syrups)
   Dextromethorphan is the d-isomer of Methorphan, the other being a potent opioid agonist in the same class of narcotics such as Oxycodone(Percocet, OxyContin), Fentanyl(Duragesic, Actiq) and other 'strong' opioids.
   Instead of acting on opioid receptors, its action is almost completely different besides some similar side effects(euphoria, itchiness, dilated pupils, etc). DXM is an NMDA-antagonist, and when taken in unrecommended dosages may cause similar unpredictable effects similar to PCP and Ketamine. Dextromethorphan has been shown to lower opiate-tolerance mildly, although no solid evidence can suggest wether it can increase or decrease effects of concurrent opiate adminstration(reports have been contradictive and insufficient for any facts).
   Dextromethorphan is a serious drug, even if its sold OTC. That does NOT mean it is safe to abuse, but quite the opposite. Its a distinct possibility that, like it's relatives, DXM in large doses over long periods of time can cause damage to the brain known as "Olney's Lesions'. Very serious stuff, so be warned and BE SAFE.

1. This is a good product, although if you are looking for an extended release product like the adult Mucinex, this is not it, still standard 4 hours dosing!

1. I recently caught a very bad cold and was looking for something specifically for my sore throat and drippy nose. I liked the advertised "cool burst" effect that temporarily cleared my sinuses and soothed my throat. I don't think it's as bad as gargling listerine, as the previous reviewer stated. Yes, it's strong, but only for a moment and I follow it with a little water chaser. The flavor is akin to mint gum. This is a nighttime medicine containing doxylamine succinate (the active ingredient in Unisom), so be prepared for some serious sleep. I was knocked out for a good 10-11 hours and a little groggy when waking. As for alleviating my symptoms, I think it worked well. I was able to sleep soundly all night without being kept up by my nose and throat. Recommended.



2. This is the most disgusting tasting medicine I have ever taken in my LIFE! i almost threw-up trying to swallow it. The "Cool Burst" did nothing but clear my nose for a few seconds, similar to gargeling with Listerine. I still coughed in bad fits after taking the medication and the after taste lasted for hours. I Took two doses before going out and buying my old stanby. I will never buy it again, and most likely, will not finish the bottle that I have.

1. This review refers to the 3 pack(8oz each) of Tylenol Cough and Sorethroat with Instant Cool Burst(daytime)
   
   In my house, when one person gets a cough or cold, no matter what I do to fight off the germs(I'm a maniac with a can of Lysol spray or wipes),it still makes it's rounds. and sometimes if it's a really nasty bug, it'll start all over again. The coughs are the worst, because not only does it make you feel awful, but if it's not under control, it keeps the rest of the household awake as well.
   
   Tylenol Cough & Sore Throat, comes in both daytime and night time,varieties. Neither contain alcohol. It is for ages 12 to adult. And two tablespoons(just use the little dosage cup included) does the job. It says it lasts 6 hours, but I have found it has lasted through the night. The relief is almost immediate. It's got 2 medicines. Acetaminophen to take care of sore, throats and body or headaches. the other is Dextromethorphan HBr, which is some really good stuff for controlling the cough. My problem is getting it down. The "Instant Cool Burst" is a menthol kind of taste, and I thought it would help. But I still had a hard time swallowing it. The taste is really bad.
   
   However it works, and I have to try to set a good example, you know, for the kids(who are not as big a baby as I am when it comes to downing it!). Check the price for a 3-pack of these 8 0z bottle. Absolutely worth stocking up for the winter. I checked my neighborhood market, this is like getting one bottle for free. Also when I added it to my cart, although it doesn't show it here, the little free shipping icon came up(with required amount from Amazon.
   
   So effectiveness...definitely 5 big stars....economical....such a deal!...taste... that's a big EEEEEWWWW from me!
