- I keep my grandmother stocked with these mints because she has a very dry mouth from medications and these mints have helped her with that condition. She is careful not to use too many per day because they can have a laxative effect. The mints taste good, are chewy and last for quite awhile.
-
After searching in person and on line, I was delighted to discover that Amazon had this product. My 97 year old mother insists that the mints help to relieve her dry throat and scratchy cough. At her age, she must be an authority on lozenges and cough drops. How great to find something that makes her happy.
- These mints are amazing! Great throat soothers for that little tickle or dry cough. And they are gel-like so they don't hurt your palette.

- 10mg of menthol. When you have the cough that won't quit, this thing will make it take a break at least. Strong taste, so I wouldn't use it on the kids.
- I use this more as an expectorant than for traditional cough relief. I will find myself clearing my throat constantly throughout the day. I have tried every drop on the market and Fisherman's Friend is the only one that relieves it and does so almost instantly!
- I have been using these lozenges for cough as well as before speaking. They clean my throat and open my chest for ease in breathing. Each lozenge last for over an hour, making speaking comfortable.
- I've tried all sorts of cough drops and most of the time they were marginal at best. By the time one of these has disolved, I have forgotten I was coughing my head off.
- These really do work! As mentioned, may be too strong for some. They are cheaper at Walgreens locally.

- I was surprised to see "cornsyrup" on this cough drops. Why they can not use only sugar instead of something that is not good for you. I wonder what doesn't have cornsyrup nowadays?
- I love this product. I discovered these when I lived in NYC; now I live in LA and cannot find them anywhere...so, I am incredibly grateful that they are available through Amazon.
They are decently priced and I appreciate the speedy delivery.
Thank you!
Jennifer
- Honees is amazing, the liquid center opens up your sinus and you can breath again.
- I found these initially in Stillwater Minnesota. Picked them up so the next time I had a sore throat I could try them. Well, I had a doozy this spring (2007) and used up that first packet in 1 day. Need more and found them here on Amazon. Ordered a whole case. Honees are what got me through that illness. They have a nice sweetness from the natural honey and also the menthol & eucalyptus open your sinuses. Honees are the best!
- These cough drops are amazing. They are strong tasting (eucalyptus). They open up your sinuses when you are stuffed up. The liquid honey/eucalyptus center also soothes your irritated throat. If you buy two 24 packs you don't pay shipping. My yoga students swear by them!

- The herbs settle the stomach while soothing throat irritation and curing dry mouth. Perfect for singers, smokers, and speakers or anyone who suffers from a dry mouth or phlegm in the throat.
- I have found these throat discs to be invaluable for a wide range of throat ailments, from minor throat dryness to a more intense sore throat. Unlike many other products intended for the latter purpose, these do not contain menthol, which I find bothers my stomach after an extended period of use. Rather, the mild licorice flavor (which I usually don't like) of this product is actually quite soothing. Furthermore, the disc shape itself sits comfortable in the throat--so much so that I have often gone to bed with one of these discs in my mouth, comfortable that it would simply dissolve away (it is more like a flat tablet and less like a piece of hard candy than other products). The only downside is that I am finding it more difficult to locate this product in stores--I need my throat discs!
- These used to be called Parke-Davis throat discs. My mom used to carry them all the time and I remember (back in the 50s) sneaking them out of her purse because she would only give me one occasionally because they had chloroform in them back then - there's a picture of the original packaging and ingredients here: [...]. They're pretty hard to find nowadays, and I'm happy to run across them again, even without the chloroform. I just like the taste of them :)
- For many years, I have frequently had a dry, tickly throat when sleeping (especially in the dry winter air in New York). Throat Discs, which don't use menthol and hence, don't upset the stomach, are the only discs that seem to relieve the tickle efficiently. They dissolve slowly in the mouth and I think it's the black licorice and peppermint that really soothe the throat and make it feel better. Well worth the money.
- For many years, I had struggled with my voice cracking as I talked and/or sang plus constant hoarseness. After only a few days of using these throat discs, all that was cured! I take one any time I need to talk for longer periods of time and definitely take one before singing in my choir! No other over-the-counter OR prescription drugs worked to help me, yet THIS product has brought me a miracle!

- These are great. That also goes for the Original and the Cherry. Beats anything that is U.S. made.
- Found these at a local store once...then couldn't find them anywhere! These things really work and they don't leave a nasty taste in your mouth when you're through.
- These do not have the same menthol taste as the original Fisherman's Friends. I'd say they are about half as menthol-y as the originals. These are more like half cough drop and half breath mint. They taste a lot better than the originals. If only they were the full strength too. They don't eliminate the cough tingle; as soon as you finish one, you need another one. Suggestion: improve cough elimination properties of the mint flavored Fisherman's Friends.
- Every one in the family got a flu and coughed over a week. I finally had to get up in the middle of a night because my daughter couldn't stop coughing. Even though I did not get Fisherman's Friends the next day, but I went to a drug store to fill the gap. And my daughter had two tablets that day and totally stopped coughing that night. I am glad that Amazon is carrying this product because you can get it in fewer retails now than years before.

- I have depended on Chloraseptic sprays in the past that only work for a short amount of time. When I found the "Chloraseptic Max" I was happy to find longer lasting sore throat relief. The plus is the liquid center that helps to coat your throat when you are finishing the lozenge. It has been a real quick fix for a sore throat for me. My kids even will take these lozenges, where I have been unsuccessful at giving them a normal cough drop. It gives me peace of mind that my kids can get instant sore throat relief as well. This cold and flu season had been bad in our area, so lot's of sore throats. This was the answer for me, and I highly recommend it for your sore throat. Please consult with your family physician to make sure it's safe for you, if you aren't sure you can tolerate them. As far as I'm concerned, I'm happy that this product is out there.
