  1. Half the prescription strength, so take two. Slows down the proton pumps (works great).

  2. Effect of Prevacid is similar and much more powerful than Prilosec's.
My doctor prescribed me Prevacid some time ago, it worked. Now it's over the counter and I am glad I can buy it freely.
Of course, everybody's case is different. For me - this is the pills of choice for my gastric problem. It's definitely worth trying.

  3. I came down with GERD so badly that I couldn't eat without feeling like I was choking. I lost 40 lbs in a couple months. I took 60mg of prevacid daily and eventually recovered. Don't take too much for too long though, or abdominal pains may occur. I now take 30mg daily without side-effects.

  4. prevacid does work well if you take the correct dosage. I took prevacid by prescription 30mgs and it work wonders on my reflux. Then I stopped taking it and it came back. Doctor put me on acipex, then my health insurance starting charging a 100 dolloar co pay. I started to take prevacid otc, but only took on pill 15mgs. the refux came back in a few days. I looked at the bottle and realized it was half of prescription strength and starting taking two pills. reflux improved after days and no problems since. its not unusual a drug that goes otc to have a lower dosage than when it was available by sript. so if it is not working for you, take two pills at once and you will be taking prescription strength dosage.

  5. Pricing on this product was super, but I do not think that it works as well as the Prilosec does, at least for me. I have a hiatal hernia and severe reflux and this is not controlling it as well as the Prilosec did. I have been on it long enough for sure now that it is at full effect.

  1. This Water-Jel Product is quite handy to have around your Kitchen, Shop, Restaurant, Car Repair, Travel or Camping.
For Burns, It contains 2% Lidocaine HCL, glycerin, Tea Tree oil & other ingredients to give it a longer shelf life.
Most other Comments, based on 'Actual Uses', are very good stories and probabaly the best advice left by someone is "Try Not To Get Burned In The First Place",
but we are Humans and there is always going to be Accidents, nothing New there.
Here's some other possible uses, that you might want to know about when in different scenarios:
    * To make it even better in your Home or Shop, get some Aloe Gel and make a 2:1 (Burn Gel/Aloe Gel), and put it in a used or old Prescription bottle (amber), Always LABEL!
    * For Hornet/Wasp/Bee Stings, Make a Mixture of 1:1:1 of Burn Gel with 1 or 2% Hydro-cortisone Crm/Gel + Benadryl Gel.
Keep some in the House First-Aid Kit, Shop, Boat, Truck, etc.
    ALWAYS LABEL & DATE!
    * For Poison Ivy/Oak Skin dermatitis > same thing. Take some when you go Fishing or Camping.
    * If you are out Camping or trekking in the Wilderness, and you get the 'piles', this will also work Externally, in an Emergency situation. Mix 2% HC Cream + Gel + Aloe Gel
+ Burn Gel, in a 1:1:1 mix and put in your Gear pak. Not for the squeamish, but might be a Life saver under a bad situation. Label & date!
    * Keep all mixtures in a Dry, Cool, dark place, whether at Home, car, Boat, Back-pak, and it should have a shelf life of at least 2 years.
    * I also recommend that you have some nurses or surgeon's exam gloves, to use any of these mixtures, and you can just put a half-dozen in a zip lock bag.
Perhaps, you could just put your mixture bottle in with the gloves, so everything you need is there, just make sure your hands are as Clean as possible, BEFORE you use it.

  2. My forearm touched the inside edge of a 350 degree oven while I was taking something out (resulted in a 2nd degree burn about 1.5 inches long). I iced it for a couple of minutes and then remembered I'd bought Burn Jel a few weeks ago. I put a bit on the burn and it was AMAZING: the burning sensation was gone - immediate and total relief. I will definitely make sure I have lots of this stuff in the house at all times.

  3. The first rule is not to get burned. However, working with a number of hot hobbies including a Fisher wood-burning stove in the workshop, accidents do sometimes happen.

For this review, I'll be referring only to 2nd-degree burns resulting in white, melted skin, blistering and peeling.

This Burn Gel has appeared in my Amazon.Com recommendations for months. I've ignored it each time. I've walked around with ice packs strapped to some medium-rare chuck of flesh for years, why change now? Why are men so stubborn and reluctant to change?

Hot mufflers on motorcycles hate me. In fact, most hot things do.

It took a cast-iron skillet in my favorite Mexican restaurant to convince me to change my errant ways. The tantalizing aroma and sight of SIZZLING chicken fajitas captured my eyes and caused my stomach to kick my brain under the table. I missed the big padded handle and grabbed the skillet.

The server always warns of a hot skillet when he places it on the table. It was not his fault.

In one ear and out the other. Another dominate male trait in my family.

Although the pain was intense and the napkins full of ice were a dripping mess, trying to eat with my left hand was a bigger mess.

My biggest regret was the embarrassment I suffered from the workers running around afraid that I might file a lawsuit. Any person who would do such a thing because they were stupid ought to be shot and removed from the gene pool.

As soon as I got home, I logged in, careful not to drip water into my keyboard, and ordered the Water-Jel Burn Jel from Amazon.Com.

Less than a month later while in the workshop, a 3-inch burn magically appeared on the back of my forearm. My doubt turned to jubilation as soon as I covered the burn with Burn Jel. The pain instantly vanished. The most amazing thing was the healing. Burns have always left scars on me. This time, there was no scar. It's been two weeks and the burn is barely visible. I am 100% sold on this product and am ordering more for every vehicle emergency kit and workshop location. Keeping one of the tiny sealed packets in my pocket at all times might be a good idea.

    Don't get burned!

  4. The shipping was quick, the package arived in good condition, and everything was just as advertised. These are a great sized single use individualy packaged unit, perfect for adding to your custom tailored FAKs(First Aid Kits)...

You can, and should always build a kit to suit your needs better than the large mass marketed kits which generally tend to be filled with nonessential cheap filler items like small bandaids and sanitising wipes. Those and similar items can often be easily improvised if need be, and those type kits really should be marketed as "boo-boo" or "snivel" kits, as opposed to First Aid Kits. A firsst Aid Kit, in my humble opinion should be heavy on over the counter mediciness, decent large wound dressings, and other essential Aid items...

One good solution is to buy one of many small basic kits and add to them, these make a great addition!..

  5. While I fortunately have not had to use the product yet, it appears as advertised. I purchased it mainly for emergency use. The shipping was quite prompt and arrived a day or so early. Can't comment much more right now. Everything seems to be fine..

  1. I have been working in kitchens for years and have my fair share of burns. I have tried tons of products to heal the burn and prevent nasty scars with little success until i bought this product.Would highly recommend this to anyone.

  2. I had a prescription for this product under the name Siverdene, very expensive. This product does exactly what the script does at a fraction of the price and without a doctor. A word of caution. As with any burn, an intelligent decision should prevail as to the extent and degree, but for the average everyday ouch I touched the hot handle of the pan what a miracle to have in your medicine cabinet. A+++++.

  3. I keep mine in the refrigerator. When/if I get a burn, the cold coupled with the medicinal properties of the cream, really sooth the burn. And, I find this cream to be something of a miracle cream. Not only does the burn not hurt after application, but I have NO scarring when I use this cream. Just love it. This is me after using it: :-)

  4. I use this medicine for my Pekin duck (Bentley) foot condition, bumblefoot. I was unable to buy it at my local vet and it was suggested to try on the internet. I was grateful to find it and receive it so quickly and in great condition. Bentley was also appreciative.

  5. Working in a commercial kitchen brings along with it many burns...some more severe than others. A friend of mine recently loaned me her Thermazene Silver Sulfadiazine Cream for a more severe burn I had incurred. After thoroughly cleaning the area, using this cream really helps the healing process and inhibits the occurrence of infection. Plus, my scarring from this particular burn is minimal. I highly recommend this product..I have one at work and one at home.

  1. I've been using this product for several years, and it is fabulous. The adhesive bandages are the only blister dressings I have ever used (and I have tried them all) that stay on no matter what I do. They even stay on when wet (great under scuba fins). I do karate in bare feet, and sometimes get blisters on my feet. I stick on some second skin and a blister bandage, and I'm pain free and ready to go. No matter how much I slide across the floor, no matter how much I sweat, the dressing stays on. As much as it stays on, it is also easy to take off when I'm ready. I love this product and don't know why it is not in every drug store.

  1. This stuff is indispensable for burns. Unfortunately, the dispenser is ridiculously inappropriate. You will probably NEVER get all of the product out of the bottle. But you won't know for sure until you can't GET anymore out of it, because it makes no noise when you shake the bottle and you can't see into it. It is a fairly thick gel and the squeeze bottle is very hard to squeeze. After a few uses, I have to HIT the bottle HARD against my palm to get anything out of it - a pain in itself and a real nuisance when you are in a hurry - like when you have a BURN!! This product package calls out for redesign. A pump bottle, A tube. A wider mouthed non-squeeze bottle. a jar. ANYTHING BUT THIS D*****D squeeze bottle. I have called the company, but the customer service lady said it was just perfect. I am writing this review so that perhaps the manufacturers will do something about this situation.

  2. Burn gel in a bottle great idea i use it alot even for a sun burn.

  3. Whether you have been burned by the oven, a curling iron or any other hot metal it works!

  4. This stuff is great! It works immediately and takes the pain away. I wish I had stock in the company!

  1. I happened upon this med in a drug store while waiting for a RX to be filled. I have Discoid Lupus with severe scarring. I have used EVERYTHING over the counter AND prescription. I have only been using this for about a week and a half, and I already see a noticeable improvement in my scar. By the way, the scar is on my face, right beside my nose, and was originally larger than the size of a quarter. This stuff really works!!

    Thanks to ScarGel!!!!!!!

  1. It heals blisters quickly, and it's great for dancers who wear pointe shoes especially. I suggest the square ones because they are easier to use. It's hard to get at a local pharmacy. I love it!
