1 comments about Noxzema Shave Cream, Regular - 11Oz.

  1. Sadly, Noxzema shave cream is not what it used to be. As originally formulated and marketed by the Noxell Corporation, the product was "medicated" and contained a number of "soothing" active ingredients. The product label recommended, "4. After shaving, rinse, dry, and rub a small amount of Regular Shave into your skin for extra soothing protection from drying and irritation." It was that good.

Later, under the Noxzema trademark and similar packaging, Procter & Gamble distributed a similar product that lacked the original active ingredients but for the most part was true to the remainder of the original formula. Proctor & Gamble revised the Noxell label a bit, including removing the "medicated" claim and adding the banner, "Thick Rich Lather," and the claim, "Dermatologist Tested." It continued to be a pretty good product.

After that, the quality of the product went steeply downhill, where it remains today. The product is now made in Canada and "Distributed by: UNIVERSAL GROUP . . . under license from The Proctor & Gamble Company and related companies." The order of the ingredients has been revised so that sorbitol, which was seventh in Noxell's list of inactive ingredients, is now the fourth ingredient, after water, stearic acid, and isobutane. Some ingredients have been moved further down the list, and thus are present in lesser quantity, likely for the purpose of reducing production costs. The net result is a product with nowhere near its previous quality. Spreading it evenly on one's skin takes an undue amount of time and effort, and the results are less than satisfying. The label still claims, "Thick Rich Lather," but the product lacks the consistency of its former incarnation. The claim, "Dermatologist Tested," is irrelevant without the test results, which could have been positive or negative.

You likely can find a better product.

Note to Product Manufacturers: Consumers are not stupid, we know about inflation. Please stop lowering the quality of your products to hold a price point or enhance your profits. It's a losing strategy. We are willing to pay a little more with each advancing year so we can enjoy the same level of quality that led us to buy your products in the first place.

2 comments about Earth Mama-Angel Baby A Little Something for the New Baby, 1 gift.

  1. While everything smells great in this little gift bag, I'm bummed out that the sample size of the lotion is so small. I wasn't really impressed with the bath blossoms because they instruct you to place the blossoms in the accompanying bag and place in hot water for some time before putting into the bathtub for baby. I have an 8 wk old and frankly between getting the towels, diaper, clothes, wipes, baby wash, washclothes and lotion together for bath time...who has time to let dried flowers soak in a hot cup of water for 10 minutes?

The lotion however does smell like orange creamsicles, which smells nice. The bottom balm is great too, but it has a very fragrant, almost medicinal smell to it. I know it's all natural, but it still has a strong smell. But a little does go along way. I do like it though.

If you interested in trying out the lotion or baby bottom balm, this might be an ok way to go for the price. However, if you're not into the bath blossoms, which is the largest sample in this gift pack by far, then think about just purchasing the lotion or bottom balm on it's own.

  2. The lotion is sooo nice! I absolutely love it. that smell is so delicious, and the lotion is high quality. The ingredients are easy to pronounce. Safe on baby's skin and mamma loves it too. It is quite simply, divine.
The baby rash stuff is also very good quality. I like the lavender smell, but the tea tree smell comes through as well, giving it an herby/medicinal fragrance, most strong smells give me a head ache but this is refreshing. However it isn't for everyone. It has worked well for me though, and you know you aren't putting any bad things on your baby. I've had no trouble with it, and even use it for other things as well.(like emergency chap stick.) I will re-use the little containers when they are empty.
The bath flowers are wonderful, and they work. It really calms my fussy baby. Getting the little muslin bag out of the container without making a mess is a bit of a trick, but not bad. Only wish this stuff weren't so incredibly expensive. It is really a treat.
Also it's hard to find ALL of the ingredients listed online as they are on the container label, so here they are. I will add the lotion ingredients later, as I can't find it right now. I loved these so much I bought 2 of them. The lotion and the diaper rash cream are sized just right for travel. The containers are cute and not easily breakable.

5 comments about Eucerin Dry Skin Therapy Moisturizing Creme, Original, 16 Ounces.

  1. I initially started using this on my child for extremely dry skin and now our entire family uses it. It's the best on the market.

  2. I have been using Eucerin Creme for the past 15 years when my Dermatologist recommeded it for dry skin and hives on my hands due to allergies. He said, "it has lanolin in it which helps the healing process". I use it twice a day on my hands "and face". Forget expensive moisturizers for your face ladies as my skin looks 10 years younger than I am!!!
    undercroft

  3. Thumbs up to Eucerin Original Moisturizing Creme! I've had continual problems with dry areas on both hands around my ring fingers and, due to this creme, it's finally solved!! Previous to using this product, I continually tried different products and lotions, but nothing seemed to help. I'm excited to share this creme with the rest of my family for their problem areas too. The creme is a little thick, but I think you'll find it's worth it, having your dry-skin problems solved. The container is very large and will probably last for a very long time, because it is very concentrated.

  4. This was definitely the best moisturizing creme I've ever used. It literally cured my chronically dry elbows and knees! My skin was so smooth and soft that I even got compliments on it. The creme is really thick, and it doesn't spread very easily. So this isn't a product I can just slather on in a minute, or use in a rush. It takes a couple of minutes to rub it in -- but it's worth the time. I also really liked that it's odorless, since so many of the synthetic scents in lotions make me sneeze. I'm definitely going to use this creme again.

  5. I really liked using the Eucerin Creme. My hands are very dry and chapped from doing a lot of dishes and cleaning around the house. This cream was fantastic! It really was absorbed into my skin and didn't feel the least bit greasy! It's also very thick, not like the drippy lotions I sometimes find. I'd highly recommend this cream to family and friends.

5 comments about Clearance Kinetin Intensive Skin Cream.

  1. The product being sold here at a discount is now MORE than one year past the "best if used by" date, the date that WestCoastSkin says that the company will guarantee the product to. I have called WestCoastSkin by telephone and also emailed them through Amazon.com to ask them if they would be getting any new(er) product in at the discount rate, since the product they are selling here is now PAST THE ONE YEAR PAST EXPIRATION, and probably will be getting rancid now. They said they would call me back with an answer on the telephone, and never did. They have ignored my email that I then sent through Amazon.com. And they are still selling the product that has a "best if used by" date of 9/2007. It's really a shame that they won't answer our questions.

  2. I have been ordering Kinerase lotion from West Coast Skin for several years. The last shipment I got, however, was not the Kinerase lotion made in Costa Mesa, CA, but said on the box it was made in either Canada or UK by Valeant. I called them to make sure the formula was the same, and they called back a couple of days later to tell me it was. So I used it. My face broke out, and I am definitely too old to have acne. So I dug around in my travel stuff until I found an old tube of the Kinerase lotion, and low and behold, the ingredients are different. So, 1) they gave me bad information and 2) when I called about this, they said they had to talk to "shipping" and haven't gotten back to me. So, if you have sensitive skin, and like Kinerase, watch out.

  3. Kinerase cream is my favorite skin cream. It feels great, it is very moisturizing. I have sensitive skin & rosacea. It does not aggravate my skin or cause blemishes. I have used it for a few years now & would recommend it hands down. Worth every penny.

  4. I had originally bought Kinerase cream from my dermatologist at a much higher price. So I was glad to find this seller. The product was as promised and delivered promptly.

  5. West Coast Skin sold me product (Kinerase cream) at a lower price - however when I got the product it was expired. It was past the use by date on the product. When I called West Coast Skin they said the manufacturer guaranteed this for one year past the date - however I have my doubts and I don't think I will purchase from them again. MS Salt Lake City

  1. One concern was the lack of a smell with most hypoallergenic products, however this one had a mild nice little smell. It did not disappear completely into the skin though....left a slight greasy film.
Overall pretty good, but in retrospect I prefer the Davies Baby balm.
