1. I'm a 44 yr old woman (with grown children and a naturally conceived 3 year old) and I had painful cysts in both breasts for many years. The obgyn was no help in addressing them. My thyroid is also starting to shut down and my gp said 2 yrs ago my only recourse was taking synthetic hormones. I've been turning to homeopathic and naturapathic remedies for issues for the past several years, and came across some information on mercola.com about iodoral. Bought Brownstein's book as well and read through some pertinent areas before taking the iodine. I had thought of getting the 24 hour load test and the other urine test but didn't. Brownstein's book recommends 50 mg a day, but also acknowledges different people need different dosages, one size does not fit all. For his 24 hour load test you to take 50 mg of iodine so I wanted to get up to that amount gradually before taking what I considered to be a large dose right off the bat (you can take only 25 mg-but you have to let the lab know). Glad I did.
   
   I began taking one 12.5 mg tab a day and within 2 days noticed increased energy. Within the week I was warmer, and was waking up in the middle of the night feeling like I could go running. (keep in mind I am not a runner, I am not a jogger, I rarely even walk...so for me to feel like running was huge!) Second week I began taking a second 12.5 mg tab at night. I increased incrementally over 3-4 wks until I was taking 25mg in the morning and 25 mg at night. The first day I was ok, but a few hours after I took the 25 mg dose the second morning, I was extremely nauseous and felt totally ill/green. I had a bad headache and tasted the iodine through the salivary glands. (stopped taking it for a couple days to clear my system) I reduced the dosage back and finally settled on one tab every day. My warning on this issue-if I had taken the 50 mg for the 24 hr load test, I would have gotten very ill. Luckily, iodine flushes out of your system through urine within 48 hours.
   
   The other important issue I noticed is the iodine made me very edgy and borderline manic. I had been diagnosed bipolar (which I do believe is a hormonal imbalance issue) but am no longer taking any medications for it. (just keep me away from ebay when I have a glass of wine) While taking the iodoral regularly, I felt like I was drinking 3-4 cups of strong coffee a day. I was really tightly wound. I have an older male friend who is also bipolar, and he had the same issues with the iodoral. He is currently taking a kelp supplement instead that is a lower level of iodine, and takes it several times a day. He says he feels like the kelp calms him down versus the iodine revving him up (though he does get the energy from it as well). I also cannot take the iodoral and drink coffee-way too much stimulant.
   
   I continued taking one 12.5 tab a day for about 8 weeks then found I was tasting the iodine all the time-a sign of overdose. At that point I backed off to taking it just a couple times a week. I know you will detox bromide and other heavy metals etc while taking the iodine, but I don't think my symptoms were related to that. Also, most importantly, after 6 weeks ALL the breast cysts are GONE! I have noticed if I skip a couple weeks of taking a maintenance dose, my breasts will start hurting again. After reading Brownsteins book and iodine's cancer fighting implications, I highly recommend anyone with any type of cancer or cancer in their family to start taking iodine immedidately. (in a nutshell-iodine gets into a cell causing it to have a normal life cycle and death. My understanding is cancer cells do not have a normal life cycle, and don't really die-they just keep going and dividing and growing. Iodine gets into cancer cells as well as others including fat cells causing them to die in a normal cycle. Brownstein cites many of his patients who've had cancer-mostly breast-who totally recovered by taking iodine, with no surgeries or chemo)
   In summary, you should not just blindly take a quantity of iodine. Be methodical, write down the amounts you take and the effects. It should be treated as any medicine, though necessary for life you can also overdose on it-just like water.

3. I suffer from Graves Disease and use Iodoral to supplement my Thyroid medication. The snergy between the two is dynamite. Without the Iodoral I would be cold (shivering) and tired.

   Hospital had know about this product and told me about it. Now my teeth have rotten from no salvia and they want to pull them. I am going to put it off a long as I can.

1. Iodides tincture colorless. The odor is unappetizing but this stuff works! After two weeks of application my nails have greatly improved. I only wish it came with a brush that attached to the bottle.



2. I had been having difficulty finding this product, which had been recommended to help stop splitting nails. I was so happy to find it here. It arrived promptly, in appropriate packaging and perfect condition.



3. It smells like ammonia. I did not want to put it on my skin so I threw it away.

1. I am not sure if the medicine has changed my thyroid count until they do another blood test in 3 months. It is very bad tasting if taken with water as directed. If you have a weak stomach like I do can make you sick. Tried Sunny D seem to be better.



2. I have low thyroid levels on my tests but my doctors were nervous about increasing my thyroid medication because I have heart failure. I decided to try Iosol to see if it would help.
   
   I have always been allergic to iodine in seafood, medications and topical disinfectants to I just started by rubbing a few drops into my skin. Within a few days I was sleeping soundly after several years of severe insomnia. My hayfever literally disappeared overnight and the best surprise was that my heart rate dropped and my oxygen saturation jumped to 98-100%.
   
   I did a little research and found that decades ago iodine therapy had been used to treat congestive heart failure (some types are worsened by hypothyroidism). I've had no indication of overstimulation of the thyroid and will just stick with my topical routine.
   
   I haven't had my repeat blood tests yet but am warmer and have more energy. I highly recommend this particular product. I have tried potassium iodide (Lugol's solution) in the past and had unpleasant side effects and kelp did nothing for my symptoms. It's a very cheap therapy compared to all the money I've spent on medication and supplements in the past!

4. Iosol has been a great help to me, in that, being a perimenopausal woman over 45, my periods, which used to be very heavy and somewhat prolonged, are now normalized. I have used this product for a month, and am noticing improvements in hair loss (less than before), and energy levels (greater than before use). At first I didn't much care for the flavor of the product, being unused to it, but have gradually adapted to it, and now I hardly notice it at all. I started using this product at the dosage of 4 drops in 16 fluid ounces of bottled water, and now am gradually tapering down to two drops in the same amount of water, with no reduction of benefit. I highly recommend this to anyone who is hypothyroid, since hormones can be expensive.



5. It arrived quickly as does all things I order from Amazon. I was having a lot of trouble with feeling cold all the time when no one else in the house was. After taking the Iosol for only 3 days I noticed I wasn't freezing like I had been. After 2 weeks I reduced the dosage & would notice occasional days when I felt cold but would just take 1 or 2 drops more for a couple of days & it seemed to take care of it. When the bottle is gone I will be ordering more. I would recommend it.

1. When you work out at the gym, you are bound to get something if they don't keep their equipment clean. I was one of those "lucky" people last summer. I guess all those sweaty bodies made for the prime fungal habitat. Most people won't know that athlete's foot is a type of ring worm. I didn't know until I contracted ringworm from the dirty equipment. My doctor recommended I try Lotrimin. Within a week the ringworm started to fade away. By the second week it had a light pink tinge to it. The third week, a shadow of it remained with the whole thing cleared up by the 4th week.
