1. I have a same problem with the below review.
   
   So far as... I even have no chance to use this GPS because not only 'setup CD' but also 'map CD' doesn't work. IOGEAR said they will send other CDs but I should wait 1 week more. Don't order this GPS if you need to use it immediately.
   IOGEAR website doesn't offer download of setup programe.



2. I have owned the IOGEAR Bluetooth GPS unit for almost a year now and I absolutely love it. This GPS unit locks on to satellites very quickly and it has never dropped out of reception. The mapping software (and maps database) however is another story. Keep in mind I made my purchase a year ago. They might have made improvements on the software since. I did not have the bad CD woes a couple of the reviewers have. My complaints are as follows. While making turns (usually onto or off of a freeway ramp), it sometimes gives off a rapid succession of contradicting instructions. It gets back on track once the turn is completed however. Sometimes, it doesn't give enough advance notice before a turn, although this doesn't happen very often. The software package is not ALL bad. For example, I love how it automatically computes a new route every time you make a wrong turn. It also lets out a sound right at a turn so you know whether you've made a right turn. The voice giving directions is crisp, clear, and pleasant. On my Axim x30 624 Mhz, the routing/re-routing computation is done very quickly. I also love the ease with which the maps on the CD can transferred to my pocket PC. I was able to load the entire map of CA and NV onto my pocket PC with unbelievable ease. How much map data you load is entirely up to you and the only constraint is the capacity of your SD/CF card or harddrive (for those using a laptop). All in all, despite a few minor shortcomings (annoyances mostly), the software is very usable -- it's never failed to bring me to my destinations. Due to budget constraints, I'm sticking to the bundled software for now. But if you can afford it, do a little research by reading reviews for other GPS software such as TomTom, Mapopolis, etc. among many others. Hardware-wise, the GPS unit is superb and I strongly recommend it. I am awarding 5 Stars for the hardware and 3 Stars for the software.



3. STAY AWAY IF YOU INTEND TO USE WITH A POCKET PC. It will not work on Windows Mobile 5.0, and IOGear knows it. It will slow your device to a crawl. I use a powerful Dell Axim x51 (fastest processor availabel and lots of RAM). They said they would patch it in 2005, but it's almost 2007 and they still haven't.
   
   They guy who said it works with his Pocket PC was running WM 2003, and yes, it works with that.
   
   iGuidance uses the same software base and they have patched their's. Consider iGuidance if you don't want to have to hook up your laptop to the car just to use GPS. Their customer service is outsourced and unhelpful



4. Originally I want to have this GPS working with my notebook. After two RMAs and long hours w/ the support, I still could not get them to work with my two notebooks. They refused to refund also.Bad service and bad product. Do not buy.



5. I got this GPS to work with my pocket pc. After instllation it asked to an file called 'IOgearnavsysqvga' but it was nowhere in the instllation cd. I called IOgear support and I asked where I could find the file. I was left on hold for an hour and had to finally hang up. Their support SUCKS! Needless to say, I am unable to install this on my ATT 8525. Don't buy this JUNK or anything else from IOGEAR!

1. Awesome product.
   The ability to see individual topo sheets is very useful, as is the ability to create custom seamed maps.
   Dowloads of GPS waypoints to the computer, and the upload of GPS points fron the computer to the GPS unit is easy.
   Customer support is phenomenal! They resopond quickly and personally answer your questions and even take recommendations on what might be nice additions for future updates (such as a Baja map set, or the addition of other datums besides NAD27)

   I can't say enough about this product! The best mapping software out there




2. This version is VERY OLD! The maps are from 1985 and do NOT include trail data. Get the Trails Illustrated maps instead, you'll be MUCH better off!



3. Allows you to export tif images with GIS/CAD world files for easy upload into Programs such as Petra. Downside is that if you are looking at a large area, you have to continuously change out disks (there are 5 or 6 of them).



4. The maps were useful and plenty detailed, however not all of them were current or up to date. It served as a starting point, however, I still had to purchase more current versions of the areas I needed from BLM and USGS

1. I cancelled order but there customer service people were very good. Replied to e-mails super fast and issued a refund. Very good service and I didn't even buy anything from them. They should be great if you do.



2. This thing just doesen't work period. No differenece with the included antenna. Save time and money, get the original OEM part for your GPS wich now cost me $28 more.



3. I am very happy with the results of using the antenna. It has enhanced the
   sensitivity of my Lowrance 500 iways. I would highly recommend it as an
   accessory for a gps.



4. I live in Plano, TX and traveled to the northeast for a job, living in Stamford, Ct and working in Rye Brook, NY. I kept getting lost and a friend told me about Megellan GPS, I put in the addresses and go.
   
   The area that I am in there are quite a lot of trees and buildings, maybe the cause of what I have experienced losing connection to the satellites
   
   The external antenna is the greatest purchase that I have made besides the Megellan GPS. With the factory antenna I kept getting antenna signals sometimes in green (good signal) mostly in the Low (showed yellow) and sometimes no antenna (showed red). Using the Magellan High Performance External Remote GPS Antenna also amplifies the signal to the GPS; the Magellan compass is showing excellent antenna connection showing in Blue for a strong connection to the GPS satellites.
   
   Now in the NY and CT areas, the only time I loose my signal, is going through long tunnels and I get almost completely through the tunnel before I loose the signal.
   
   I have traveled to Chicago, IL. throughout Texas with the GPS and external antenna. I never get lost anymore, and have to stop and ask; "How do I get to ______?" With the GPS and the external antenna, I never feel embarrassed going into a convenience store or service station anymore.
   
   This external antenna can be purchased for all types of GPS units. Good Luck and Great Traveling.

5. Works great! My Roademate would not work well in cloudy or tree covered areas with the built in antenna. It works fantastic now with this external antenna.

1. I bought this to mount my Garmin GPSmap 478 on a bicycle, Sun EZ-1. It works great. It securely holds the GPS and adjusts easily to any angle. The kit came with two U-bolt sizes and a plastic insert. Simple to install and works great.
