5 comments about TomTom GO 720 Carry Case and Strap (9M00.000).
  1. I was concerned about use with the TomTom GO920 but several reviews said it would work. Fits great, small in size, easily fits in purse or briefcase for security, semi hard for protection yet pliable. Highly recommend

  2. Perfectly sized hard case to protect your TomTom in your briefcase, purse, pocket or glove box.

  3. I bought this case for my TomTom 130. It was poorly constructed, and the case's seams had to stretch to fit around the GPS unit. It did not simply "drop in" as the packaging described. Plus, the inside wasn't too soft, so I was worried about scratching the screen.

I ended up returning this, and buying a different type of case at Staples (marketed as an IPod case, but it fits perfectly). This new case cost only $6, had room to store the power cord, and was completely lined to prevent the screen from scratching.

  4. This is case is great! Like many of the other reviewers have said, it has a sleek design and is both well constructed and durable. One additional thing that is worth noting is that the case fits the TomTom GO 930 like a glove.

I had seen this case on several websites before purchasing. The case is always advertised as an accessory for the TomTom GO 720 -- with no mention of the other TomTom GO models. I was relatively dissatisfied with the available cases for the GO 930. When I compared the dimensions of the GO 720 and the GO 930, I was delighted to see that they were almost identical in size. Based on that, I decided to order this case.

I can tell you from first-hand experience that the case fits the TomTom GO 930 like a glove. Moreover, I am very please with the design, construction and function of the case.

  5. What can I say? It's a case. It's designed for the shape of my TomTom 720 and protects it well from scratches and probably a short fall if it were to be accidentally dropped. I would call it a semi-rigid case, but don't try letting your girlfriend have at it with her high heels or backing over it with your car... I'm sure TomTom will be quite dead, but the case would be a suitable coffin.

5 comments about Garmin External Microphone for StreetPilot C550 (010-10804-00).
  1. When I first got my Garmin nĂ¼vi 760 Portable GPS Automobile Navigator and started using its Bluetooth feature, I got consistent complaints from callers saying they couldn't hear me. This $15 microphone has made a world of difference. No more complaints from callers!

I only gave this little microphone four stars instead of five, because despite its three different mounting clips, I haven't yet found a way to keep the mic close and the clip/wire out of the way. Just a minor nitpick though!

  2. Yes, it's louder than the mic built-in to my C550, but it's not as clear, and it doesn't have noise cancelling ability. I am searching for something better. This really isn't it

  3. This product is great for the hands free cell phone user. The sound quality of the calls is much clearer and it helps block out traffic noise.

  4. Product is absolutely worthless. People complained that they barely could hear me. To be fair, I paired with a verizon LG 8350 and that could be part of the problem. Had better luck with the Blue ANT product.

  5. This item works as stated. I understood the limitations with any microphone used in an area where other noises can also be picked up. In using this device when having conversations with others they stated it was as clear as my phones external mic. My only complaint is the mounting clips use a ball which snaps into a very weak socket. The slightest movement of the visor causes it to fall off the clip. Normal driving it stays in place most of the time. Like all electronics, it's over priced for what it is. Maybe a government bail out would help (just kidding)

5 comments about Tom Tom iPod Connect Cable and Audio Cable.
  1. I bought this cable to use with my brand new TomTom 720 and it works great with my iPod video 30GB. The on screen touch controls are very convenient and accessible and I can easily control my iPod safely while driving. Very handy. I love TomTom !

  2. I am not sure why so many other people had issues with this device. If you use it correctly and are using a tomtom 720 or higher there is no background noise and it even works with my iphone. I am glad I do not have to touch my phone while driving ever again.

  3. Hey guys I was thinking about buying this for my TomTom but heard of the poor sound quality which was a huge deal to me. I normally plug my iPod in through the auxilary port of my car but that will be taken up by my nav system now.

What did I do? I went to radio shack and got an audio splitter for about $10. This allows me to plug both the iPod and TomTom into a single port with no interference. The only downside is no controlling iPod with the TomTom but I'm used to that anyway.

  4. Tom Tom iPod Connect Cable and Audio Cable

    Pros:
    1) Allows touchscreen control of your iPod on your TomTom

    Cons:
    1) Sound quality poor and volume was lacking
    2) Doesn't resume song when turning TomTom back on
    3) Didn't work correctly with my 3 Gen iPod (wouldn't pause iPod when turning off TomTom, but seemed to work correctly with my iPod Mini)
    4) Doesn't charge iPod

Don't waste your $30 (you can have mine)

Harmon Kardon Drive+Play is a MUCH better option for controlling your iPod.

  5. My car stereo could connect to ipod directly using its ipod cable which looks to be a better option in case you want better sound quality. Routing voice through tom tom go 720 and then input to car stereo using auxiliary input audio cable deteriorate the sound quality.

5 comments about Magellan 702176 Roadmate Universal Cradle.
  1. This is one of those situations where the cost of a cradle is 1/3 of a new GPS system... is it worth it??? Well if you have the 700 or 760 I say trash it and take the money for the new cradle and new maps and go buy a Garmin!!

  2. What can one say about an OEM replacement? They work like the one they replace. After 5 years, my original started having problems staying powered up and I traced it the power jack on the cradle, so I bought a replacement. Just a thought if you're buying one and you want multiple mounts ... Since these screw on to their respective mount, you might want to have one for each type of mount. I have the windshield suction as well as the weighted dashboard "pad" but to switch back and forth between them I need to unscrew the cradle. I know ... not tragic, but I like to keep one in my travel bag and the other in my car.

  3. Considering the power pin in the mount appeared to be loose, I thought this would fix my issue. The power cord appeared fine. Sorry to say, this did not fix the problem and only when I bought the power cord (a gamble) did both work. It's almost like the mount and the cord were made for each other and neither would work by itself.

  4. The little tongs you see there a extremely delicate and if one gets bent which it will you will lose connection to the GPS. A couple of years ago we had to buy a replacement cradle and at the time they were way cheaper-like $30. Now I guess since they are so delicate and constantly needs replaced and this is your only option if you want your GPS to work they've jacked up the price to $70. Nice company. Not money hungry or heartless or anything. Since we've replaced the last one another tong has been bent so guess what that means? To be honest we're selling our Magellan and buying a Tomtom. I refuse to keep handing them money because they've sold us a bad product.

  5. Magellan 702176 Roadmate Universal Cradle work like the original equipment. I am very satisfied with it.

  1. the mount is fine but the rubber on the suction cup gives up after about nine months

  2. the mount, vehicle suction cup mount I purchased came with the Garmin. I would like to return the extra. It is unopened.

  3. Not clear as to what models it fits vs won't fit but it did fit my NUVI 680

  4. It was never adequately explained that this item was already included in the purchase of the Garmin portable GPS. Within a couple days I returned it, unopened, with the mailing label provided by Amazon.com returns. I've yet to receive a credit.

Additionally, the Garmin GPS was severely out of date. My husband used it the first time, (it was a birthday present for him) SURPRISE! He was out of town and couldn't find a restaurant that moved but had been in business for many years at the new location.

It's been a credit card nightmare. I had to stop payment after spending 3 hours of my time trying to communicate online.

5 comments about Garmin External Speaker with 12-Volt Adapter for StreetPilot ( 010-10477-01).
  1. Our StreetPilot stopped working for unknown reasons. Rather than send it to Garmin to look at, I thought it would be easier, quicker, and cheaper to first try a new adapter cord. This one one delivered quickly and did the trick. Our GPSr is now working great.

  2. Second time my dog chewed this up and the same company provided a replacement quickly at a good price. The adapter is perfect, works great, excellent quality.

  3. The one that came with my GPS broke, and this one works as good as that one. No difference.

  4. Rather than shell out $30 to $40 for another flimsy replacement, one can just go to Radio shack and buy a "Y" cigarette lighter accessory (allowing 2 accessories to plug into one socket). This assumes you can salvage the pieces from your broken plug-in. Simply reassemble the broken pieces (make sure the fuse is there), and slide all into one of the sockets on the "Y", then tape the Garmin plug and "Y" socket together to make sure it remains secure. You now have the new "Y" to plug in and out of the cigarette lighter and an extra socket on the "Y" for your celphone!!

  5. The product works fine and the delivery time was excellent. The price was still a little high, but much better than you could purchase it from Garmin. I love my Garmin GPS, but I find that this integral part of the system is prone to failure and repeated replacement. Because of poor engineering design or whatever, Garmin should stand behind their product better and either design a better adapter, or at least discount the existing design to GPS owners.

5 comments about Microsoft AutoRoute Europe 2007.
  1. I upgraded to the 2007 edition of AutoRoute to see maps in countries not included in an earlier version of the software that I had. Specifically, I was interested in maps of Hungary and Greece. Though these countries are now included, the detail is largely limited to Budapest and Athens, with not much in the rest of the country. That was a disappointment.

About the software itself, I am a real fan. I have AutoRoute and also the US version (Microsoft Streets and Trips) and I use both to create small maps of cities to download to my PocketPC. When I travel, I have all my maps with me with all the important locations marked with pushpins. I wouldn't travel without them!

  2. Purchased this product because it was the only GPS software that claimed to cover Greece. Well if you are going from Athens to Cornith it looks like it will work well. Don't try to go to any smaller towns. Not covered. Well there goes 40 bucks

  3. After an e-mail exchange with Microsoft Technical Support, I land in London to find the GPS features of AutoRoute 2007 won't drive my (De Lorme) antenna contrary to their assurances. Next I try to go on line, but find Win XP SP3 has knocked out my WiFi. Finally, reaching the internet, I find it full of blogs from others like me. support.microsoft won't deal with it, linking to some third party site that is no help. HELP? HELL NO! NO MORE MICROSUCX for me!
    It WRECKED OUR TRIP.

  4. Easy to install and should work well with the Pharos GPS unit that I use with MS streets and trips 2005.

  5. We used Autoroute in Amsterdam for 3 days. Using the Microsoft GPS Antenna supplied with Streets and Trips 2008. AutoRoute Europe was the worst package I have ever worked with and was continuously slow to warn about turns and frequently planned turns the wrong way on one way streets. It was enough to convince me to by a TomTom GPS for the car and what a difference. The TomTom is an excellent product and will certainly leave you much less frustrated.

5 comments about Garmin City Navigator Micro SD Data Card for Garmin GPS Units, North America.
  1. Works great! I had no idea that the software would be so sophisticated. I use it all the time to navigate the streets in Atlanta.

  2. This is a mini SD card with an SD card adapter. I've had no problems finding any road from firebreaks to interstates. Works great to turn the Garmin Colorado 400t Handheld GPS Unit with US Topographic Preloaded Maps into an automobile navigation unit as well.

  3. Using this product probably could not be more simple, all you really have to do is plug it in. After doing so I was finding Geocaches faster than before and was confident to travel places unknown afore. Not only does this card unlock new details on top of the basemap but many more features I had no idea my Garmin Colorado could do. Bought it from Amazon because they are trusted and only a few bucks off the best price I found on the net. If you have a Colorado I highly recommend this product. I didn't give 5 stars because the maps certainly are not flawless but come close I suppose. My one negative; and this is being very selective shall we say, is because a couple days ago coming back from a hike I called up the nearest gas station and the map was 0.15 mile off.

  4. I'm sure this item performs admirably. BUT BE CAREFUL WHEN ORDERING. Amazon's website can be misleading if you don't read carefully. I accidentally ordered the item in the wrong format...one incompatible with my GPS unit. Amazon's website implied that it was compatible; my fault...I didn't read carefully enough! I was unsuccessful trying to get satisfaction from the vendor so I am out $84; a bitter pill for retired fella to swallow. I have yet to try Amazon's Money Back Guarantee..........but I will try it and I hope to recoup some of my loss.

  5. Received in time, inserted and worked better than I thought with a Garmin Zumo 550.

  1. I have owned this item for about a month now, and have utilized this product everytime I turn the GPS on. From my standpoint, this product is a 5 star rating. It is a great protector against any scratches to the lense of you'r GPS. However, the only thing I would change is the packaging, which comes with two 4.3' screens as well as two smaller sizes. The two smaller sizes to me are ueless, and are a waste of money, time, and resources for those who have a larger screen size. As for the shipping, my product was on my door step in less than 3 days from it's order date. Overall this is a great product in my books. No problems thus far. Thanks Amazon!

  2. this product is to small for the screen and will not stay in place it falls off. I would not purchus this product again.

  3. TOO HARD TO INSTALL CORRECTLY AND MAKES IT HARD TO USE TOUCH SCREEN. NICE IDEA,BUT SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TEMPER.

  4. Except I struggled to get rid of bubbles under the protector sheet, it works great.

  5. The film wouldn't stick to the surface of my Navigon screen, bubbles were constantly there no matter which way I put it on the screen. Just not worth the money I spent. Sorry

5 comments about Navigon 3.5" Protective Hard Shell Case.
  1. This product is ideal for protecting your GPS when removing the unit for storage or moving the unit from vehicle to vehicle. One of the best I have seen for the money and a lot better than the more expensive ones.

  2. Navigon 3.5" Protective Hard Shell Case

Great little case. Does the job for me.

  3. I got this case for my Navigon 2100. It looks cool. Gray and orange is not bad. The material for the case is decent both outside and inside. The zipper sucks big time. Very cheap and hard to open/close. Like other people said, the case is big and your unit will move around in it. Just your average case, something that I needed.

  4. This case is NOT hard. It is just a little purse with a zipper. Do not waste your money!

  5. The case is great. The zipper is on the outside part so it will not scratch the gps. It has a little bit of room inside for the gps to move but it's just a little bit. The look is very nice in and out. It has bands on both sides (one for each, left and right) so that the gps will not fall off if you open it. This is a hard shell case so it will definitely protect the gps more than the soft padded cases. The picture is exactly how it looks like. The shape of the case is the same as the shape of the Navigon gps although you could fit other types of gps in it since it has a little bit of extra room inside. Overall, it is great.
