- Very nicely constructed -- durable and light. However, if you're looking for something that has pre-formed foam placements for your Magellan GPS, you won't find it here. The case comes with two oblong foam inserts that come close to fitting the Roadmate form factor, but obviously were not made with that intent. There are also velcro straps that you can use to secure the foam inserts. To make this fit my Roadmate 2200, I had to add additional foam inserts and cut out sections of the supplied inserts.
- A necessity if you want to store your Magellan either temporarily, as when you park so no one will be tempted to steal it, or to keep it put away at home until you need it again. Also a good idea to have if you move your GPS from one vehicle to another.
- This case is large enough to hold the GPS unit, power supplies and mounting bracket. My only complaint is that it came with two large styrofoam inserts that appear to be used for the GPS unit! One is all that is needed and the other can be discarded since it will not fit into the pouch with the other parts. The case is sturdy and has an adequate zipper that should not fail under normal use.
- This case protects the GPS very well. Unfortunately, it's bulky. Perhaps the combination is unavoidable.
- This case is perfect for your Magellan. It has plenty of room for acessories and offers a safe and secure custom foam frame for the product. Once the Magellan is in place, the foam prevents it from moving inside the case. I would recommend it for anyone who owns a Magellan.

5 comments about Magellan RoadMate GPS Dash Mount.
- I'm 100% satisified with the performance of this dash mount with my Magellan Roadmate 760, installed in a Subaru Forester. It was easy to attach to my GPS (even though I'm all thumbs), and it doesn't slip around on the dashboard at all. It holds the GPS nice and steady, and the viewing angle is super-easy to adjust. The windshield mount that came with the GPS was wiggly, unstable, unreliable, and eventually nonfunctional. In cold weather, it wouldn't keep its suction on the windshield unless I reinforced it with ever-more layers of clear packing tape. Eventually the little locking mechanism broke and there was no suction at all. It really annoyed me to have bought an expensive techno-gadget and have to "mount" it with an unsightly and unreliable wad of tape! I wish I had bought this dash mount right away, instead of struggling with the dinky windshield mount for over a year.
- I bought this system for 2 reasons. I wanted to use it between 2 cars and I did not trust the suction cup to hold over time. So far I am VERY happy with its performance. It is very easy to move the legs so they conform to 2 very different dash boards. I do not see any reason why it will loose its ability to hold on the dash over time. I very highly recommend this!
- This is a much better alternative to the suction cup mount that came with my GPS. Just place it on your dash and it stays in place perfectly.
- Magellan sells this product as an accessory. From Magellan's site and product description: "Convenient, adjustable mount holds your Magellan RoadMate 300, 500 or 700 series stable and steady."
I live in California, and any type of suction windshield mounts are illegal in the state, so I purchased this dash mount to use with my Magellan RoadMate 300. I find the mount to be very sturdy and stable. Below is the specific issue I have with this product, though.
In the assembly instructions, it mentions attaching the product to the cradle of your GPS unit. The Magellan RoadMate 300 does not come with a cradle. Apparently, the cradles are made for the 500 and 700 series. In effect, the RoadMate 300 must be directly screwed into the swivel ball attachment on the dashboard mount. I was disappointed that Magellan did not mention this fact in either the dash mount's marketing product information or in the dash mount's assemble instructions. I called Magellan tech support to confirm my findings, and they were confirmed. I also confirmed that there is no cradle available for the Magellan RoadMate 300.
So, to use this dash mount, I must screw my unit directly to the mount's swivel attachment. In order to remove the unit from the mount, I need to completely loosen the swivel ball's adjustment knob. Furthermore, since the unit now is attached to the swivel ball attachment, it no longer snuggly fits into my Magellam Roadmate pouch. To use the pouch now, I have to either unscrew (4 screws) the unit from the swivel ball attachment or cut a slip into the pouch to accommodate the size of the swivel ball attachment. Of course, if you never have the need to remove your unit from the dash mount, then this will not be an issue for you. In the area I live, visible GPS units have been stolen from parked vehicles, so I always like to remove my unit from site ans store it in my console when I am not using it (i.e., when my car is parked).
So, if I had a cradle (500, 700 series), I'd give this dash mount a 5-star rating. But, since it does not allow seamless dismounting for the Magellan RoadMate 300, I give it only a 2-star rating...if you own the Magellan RoadMate 300 and are thinking about buying this dash mount, I say, "Buyer Beware."
- This was exactly what we were looking for. It wasn't designed exactly for the product we had but it was easily altered to work with it without any compromise for functionality.

2 comments about Garmin USB 2.0 Data Card Programmer for Garmin SD Data Cards (010-10776-00).
- Most USB 2.0 devices are backward compatible with USB 1.0 interfaces. This is not one of them. While I have not seen any published specs that specifically say it is *not* USB 1.0 compatible the read me file on the driver CD explicitly states that it requires a 'pure' high speed environment. If you check the Garmin FAQ file for this device (recommended) you'll also find that there are problems with non-Intel USB chip sets. Sure enough, when I tried this on a different computer with an aftermarket USB 2.0 adapter card, no luck there either. Probably works fine with built-in USB 2.0 on name brand computers, but this is the first USB device I've ever had this kind of problem with, so that's why I'm giving it just one star.
- This USB card interface provides a method of programming a Garmin data card to exchange infomation between your computer and the GPS unit and to install software updates for your Garmin GPS. It installs easily and works great. I now have detailed map info on a 32mb data card installed in my Garmin GPSMap 178c GPS/Sounder. It is great.

5 comments about Pioneer Navtraffic Tuner.
- Hello,
I purchased the AVIC-D2, XM and the iPod kit from Amazon. I then went to my local installer and confirmed with them that they could install all three devices and still allow my factory rear entertainment center to function in the new setup. After 3.5 hours they failed.
I decided that I'd return the items because I needed to get an alternative gift before Christmas and I didn't have time to find another way to get it installed. I was able to return the D2, but the GEX-P10XMT and the iPod kit are not returnable. It turns out that Amazon brokered my sale to three other companies that have differing return policies. Had I realized that Amazon would sell me something that I can't return I would have purchased elsewhere. At this point I will never purchase anything else from Amazon ever again.
- I have this unit, with a Pioneer AVIC-D2 headunit. I use it for both XM and NavTraffic. I have to admit that NavTraffic's incident report isn't always very up to date, and I really wish they would write WHEN the event occured. Now it just says "Accident, next quarter hour" but come back in 30 minutes and you still have the exact same message up on the screen. However, it is much better with the highway information. And also if highway traffic is slow, and you have a router programmed, the unit will ask if you wish to go around the traffic jam. Sometimes the alternative is worse, because the unit doesn't know "speeds" off the highway, so if you choose to avoid, you may get in a worse traffic jam.
As far as the XM, reception is good, some channels at times sound like a 56kbps mp3, but most of the time it's good. Also, it sometimes doesn't get artist and song title information. I'm not sure if this is the unit's fault or xm's.
I would definitly buy this unit again, especially with NavTraffic.
- I give it a 5 since the product does not deserve a 1 star from Rick. Rick made the product look bad instead of the seller. Uncool :Cheers
- I purchased this unit with my Pioneer AVIC-N4 and it seems to do the job pretty well. The flashing red/yellow/green lines on congested roadways is very helpful. The first time I used it, I was driving and noticed that the route I was going to take (across the East River) was blinking red. I looked across the river and saw a severe traffic jam.
Coming home from that same trip, it alerted me that traffic was slow ahead and asked to reroute. I said yes, and it diverted me onto a highway I didn't even know existed and cut my travel time down an hour or so.
The only think I don't like about it that it's an extra charge with XM and some of the information is dated (ie. road closures that I knew were no longer closed, but listed on the screen).
Overall, if you own a pioneer navigation system - you might as well get it. It's worth it.
- The Nav Traffic tuner works great! No issues and easily installed. Nice install all the way and I'm no expert to be sure. thanks.

1 comments about Garmin Power and Data Cable for Garmin GPS and StreetPilot Series (010-10082-00).
- This product performs exactly like it is supposed to. The only nick I have against it is the use of the round (old style) fuses. I think the unit should be fused but why not upgrade to a common blade style? The old glass fuses are getting harder and harder to come by these days. I removed the fuse anyway because I was connecting it to a fused block with a dedicated fuse and running the power from a switch.
