5 comments about The Bride's Bouquet.
- A gorgeously photographed book with a very clever "contents" page, this book is a must for anyone involved in weddings and/or floral design. Each bouquet is richly photographed and simply labelled. The Bride's Bouquet is an invaluable reference and resource.
- The book is organized by color which makes it great for the bride who knows what color she wants. Good designs and many ideas for the bride to choose from.
- This book is gorgeous and great for generating ideas for wedding bouquets. Highly recommended!
- As a professional florist who specializes in weddings and special events, I own nearly 40 different design books, many of which I use for client consultations. This is a very nice book, full of nice designs in large, clear, photographs. This book, The Bridal Bouquet Book, and Wedding Bouquets (Over 300 Designs for Every Bride) are my top picks for bridal bouquet and wedding floral books filled with the most amount of photos. The only criticism I have of this book is that since all the designs were created by the same designer, they look similar and there aren't a lot of differences regarding overall bouquet shapes and patterns. The designer does do a good job of altering colors and flower types though, and she showcases bouquets in a range of price points which works well for using the book for consultation reference. Too many bridal bouquet books today showcase only designs in the higher price ranges and that causes disappointment for brides when they discover the bouquet they fell in love with costs 2-3 times the price they've budgeted. That shouldn't happen too often with this book. There are many bouquets to choose from in a variety of price ranges, and they are all photographed beautifully and printed on quality paper in this nice, hardcover book.
- This book was so highly rated that I decided to get it even though I had not read it. I was disappointed in the bouquet ideas. Not too much that was unusual or unique in spite of the large number of pictures. You would do better to look at bridal magazines. There are no instructions, or anything else, just pictures of bouquets. I was glad I didn't pay full price for it.

3 comments about Begonias.
- North American gardeners who want to learn about begonias now receive all the information in Begonias, a book devoted to this one plant alone. From its history and key discoveries to its culture and propagation, Begonias packs in details on how to handle and successfully grow a variety of begonias.
- This is a very good, concise book covering history, cultivation, propagation and even hybridizing methods of tuberous begonias. When I purchased this book, I didn't know the difference between tuberous and non-tuberous begonias so I was a bit disappointed to discover that begonias of my primary interest, the non-tuberous type, are barely covered. This review is mostly a warning to those who might not know the difference. The focus of the book is tuberous begonias which are primarily grown for their flowers (and are well-represented by the excellent photos). The author includes a brief chapter covering the various types of non-tuberous begonias (which interest me because of their foliage) and short propagation notes. Non-tuberous begonias include varieties which are cane-like (including the "Angel Wing" varieties), thick-stemmed, rhizomatous, trailing-scandents, Rex and semperflorens (wax leaf - common bedding begonia). If you are interested in these types, you should keep searching for another book.
- Beautiful book for tuberous begonia growers. Unfortunately, I did not realize that it was focused on mainly tuberous begonias when I ordered it, I would have preferred to have had more information about angel wing and other types of begonias.

- You could get this for the photography alone. Some really neat ideas, some goofy, and they always tell you what kinds of flowers you are looking at -- cool!

2 comments about Ponds & Water Gardens.
- Bill Heritage has put together one of the easiest to understand and complete guides for installing water gardens, for both the beginner and experienced water gardeners, on the market. The various construction methods are explained completely and no existing knowledge is assumed
One of the most valuable aspects of this book is the way he walks the reader through setting up a pond so it will balance naturally, without expensive pumps and filters, thus allowing a minimal expenditure of money for maximum pond enjoyment. After six years, I still refer back to this book frequently for trouble shooting, cleaning schedules, and planting ideas.
- This book should not be missed! Bill Heritage is one of the true experts in water gardening. While you can find books that are more current and have more photographs, it is hard to find one that is so well written and factual. Whether you are a novice or experienced water gardener, you will frequently refer to this book.
