- Projects using an unusual technique of gluing natural materials to fabric in designs reminiscent of fine embroidery. The work is painstaking in its detail; the effect is stunning. Many small projects for cards, bookmarks, & framed items such as pendants and paperweights. An annotated list of plants used in the projects is included. Paperback

- I work in a library and always look through books on wedding flowers. I saw this as a new title, and suggested we purchase it for the general public. I was disappointed to find however that this author seemed to follow the same approach as most of the others on wedding flowers. They all seem to try to come up with something different(and it's always weird).. Why can't someone write a hands on practical book to instruct and inform on how to do attractive designs and color combinations. For example on page 30 there is a very colorful but obnoxious arrangement with peppers for a brides bouquet.. I don't see any of those going down the aisle.! I know the general public wants useful information in this area. anyone know of a book that fits that description? I sure haven't seen any. This book only offers one design. The hand tied bouquet. People want to know how to put it together and how to do something as simple as make a bow. Sometimes we at the library feel we should be writing our own books!
- This book is just what you need!, I understand the sentiments of the previous reviewer but if it was just that simple! A wedding bouquet has to last a very important day and to contemplate a full wired teardrop shape via a book would be crazy,(We florists work years for the privledge) If you must do it yourself, stick to something simple, such as a super fresh hand tied bunch, something charming perhaps. Remember flowers like most other wedding items are entirely dictated by fashion, and although chillies may seem ridiculous,Intense colour Yellow and Red chillis with Orange roses and glossy green leaves would look Great, I could imagine a mexican cantina theme wedding where it would look fabulous, Enough of those boring bouquets that everyone has seen over and over again, Best advice Ive ever had is " if it looks anything like your mothers or Grandmothers, dont do it!!!! Inspiration is what this book does best.
- This book, like most others currently in circulation, is full of lush photography with basic floral information. It is not intended to be a page per page instruction manual, but to serve as inspiration for anyone planning a wedding. Personally, I love this book and find it useful in guiding brides towards their own final choices. To expect books of this nature to fully instruct the novice in creating an entire wedding ensemble is not an easy task. Floral design is an art form that comes to some as a natural gift or is achieved through persistent practice however, if you are the daring sort who wishes to try your hand at it I recommend reading in addition to this one "Bouquets - a year of flowers for the bride" by Marsha Heckman. Alone both books are worth reading, but combined they are full of insightful help, instruction and ideas.

- Contrary to its title, this book was quite "incomplete" as a guide to flower arranging. It is beautifully illustrated and offers several very creative ideas for floral centerpieces, but offers limited instruction on arranging itself. It is definitely not a book for beginners. I rated the book "3 stars" for its price (very economical) and its photography.
