  1. Having lived through the last 50 years of these freezes, and being a student of them, Dr. Attaway has written a reliable, remarkable, and poingant account of these devasating events. I'm sorry that I am the first and only reviewer of this magnificent account of a piece of Florida history.

Also you find informations about water use, photosynthesis nad all other plant related information you right and in one book. No sharp colorphoto is present, but the informations you find writen here, is a compression of the 5 volumes 'Citrus Industy' by the University of Florida. Just a book you need and you should read if you realy have any buissness with citrus trees...

1 comments about Graft-Transmissible Diseases of Citrus: Handbook for Detection and Diagnosis.
  1. This is the best and most valuable book I have bought for my work as a plant pathologist. Subjects are well-defined and easy to find. Lots of color pictures with good explanations. Text is well written and the information is to the point and clear. Each disease has its own chapter on how to detect using indicator plants. Separate chapters on biochemical detection, growing healthy plants in the greenhouse, grafting methods. Every person working with graft-transmissible diseases of citrus should have this book.

1 comments about Citrus Varieties of the World.
  1. I live in Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean and my Supervisor who has travelled extensively around the world has recommended "Citrus Varieties of of the World" having himself bought a copy a few years ago while in California.

I presently work in the Citrus Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Trinidad and I wanted a book that can explicity explain the various types of Citrus varieties that we propagate having originally acquired the planting material from California. I had very little knowledge initially on the new types until reading this book.

Now my work seems less hectic when I have to explain to farmers about the different types of Citrus.

The book explains the varieties from history to development to taste and I would recommend it to anyone that has an interest in Citrus.

1 comments about The citrus seed grower's indoor how-to book.
  1. I wouldn't really recommend this book to anyone, particularly if you have ever done any other sort of gardening. The entire book can be summed up in a couple of sentences - Put the seeds in some dirt and keep them watered. The end.

It can be charming at times, as Perper often waxes poetic about the joys of fresh fruits, how nice it is to smell the aromatic leaves of a lime tree, etc., etc. But, unless you really go for Reader's Digest sweety-sweet stuff, or you've never gardened before and need reassurance about how easy it is, I wouldn't pay more than 25 cents at the used bookstore bargain bin for this one.
