5 comments about The Movie Book of Answers.
- Carol is a multi-disciplinary artist who has a passion for quotes and incorporates words into her two-dimensional and sculptural works. She told me she was working on a third book and finally it has been published!
This one gives even better answers than the first two, to the point where I am starting to wonder if I am being watched when I ask the book a question. One time last week, I asked the book the same question three times! The book almost said: "I told you the answer the first time." The answers I kept getting for the first question finally concluded in me reading: "Anything you do could have serious repercussions on future events."
Talk about a warning!
The picture here at Amazon does not do this book justice. It is about two inches thick, the size of your hand, and is covered in a classic blue cover. The book feels good in your hands. If you saw it on a coffee table you would reach out for it intuitively.
To research this book, Carol had the immense challenge of deciding which movie quotes to include. I was pleased to see she included quotes from: It's a Wonderful Life, The Sound of Music, Casablanca and Gone with the Wind. Some other favorites include:
It sounds better in French. -Jerry Mulligan: An American in Paris
I've warned you fairly, don't change your course. -Faith Wishart: Ebb Tide
Make Time. -Frank Stark: Rebel Without a Cause
Yes, but don't hold that against me. -Peter Warne: It Happened One Night
My first introduction to Carol's books was: "The Book of Answers." It is a book of mystery and you are instantly intrigued when you see its unique size and the first thing you will think will be: "What is that book about?"
I was one of the last people to a book signing party. They were just putting the books away, when I became intrigued. I walked over and found the last Autographed copy...as if it was waiting for me. I opened the book and saw a few words on each page. What I didn't realize was that I had to ask a question first, and then open the book!
Fortunately Carol Bolt was there to save me and explained how the book worked. Carol Bolt is one of the nicest authors I have ever met. She is just as fun to talk to as her book is to read. She said that the idea for "The Book of Answers" came from the advice her parents gave to her while she was growing up. She told me it held "all the answers to her life."
As soon as I knew the secret of how to play with this new toy for my brain, I was laughing and told my husband we had to buy this book. Carol explained that her books have the intrigue of a magic eight ball, but unlike the magic ball, this book has so many more answers.
You supply all the questions, and then you can find one answer printed in capital letters on each page. The instructions are on the back of the cover on a removable sticker and are also in the front of the book. You place your hand on the cover, reflect on a question, and then when it feels right you open the book and read the answer.
In the first book: My husband asked: "Will I make more money at my new job." The answer: "In a year from now, it won't matter!"
Well, since then we have moved to an area where you can make the same amount of money and afford to live better.
So, how about that!
I can highly recommend all three of Carol's really fun books! They are great for parties and will have your guests intrigued in no time!
So what did it say when I asked: "Will everyone love this book?"
"Once you have found it never let it go." -Emile: South Pacific
~The Rebecca Review
- "The Movie Book of Answers" compiled by Carol Bolt is pretty much a cross between Bartlett's Famous Quotations and The Magic 8 Ball. The process for using this volume is the same with which Virgil's epic poem "The Aeneid" was used in ancient times: you hold the book closed, take 10-15 seconds to concentrate on a closed-end question, stroke the edge of the pages (yes, that is in the instructions) and when you sense the time is right, you open the book and PRESTO the right answer will be there before you.
I have to tell you in all truth and honesty that Virgil worked a lot better for me than this volume. Maybe I am not stroking it the right way, who knows? I read Rebecca's review and of the great success she has had with this volume and I think "Will she like this review?" and I ask the book and it comes back with "Oh Yes, You Can...You Must" (Captain Von Trapp: "The Sound of Music"). I am so confused (Grandfather: "Moonstruck"--I am just quoting here, I do not know if it is really in this book). Maybe I am just under a curse. Did I mention that Virgil works really well for me? I tried it again: "Will Amazon.com edit this review?" and the books says, "[You] can never go back" (Narrator: "Rebecca"). Wait! There's a link! If only I was asking about Rebecca when I got the "Rebecca" quote. Maybe I am just one off here by one. Wouldn't THAT be ironic? Look, I happen to like The Magic 8 Ball and I like movie quotes, so this is a great combination in the tradition of peanut butter and chocolate. Maybe I am just under a curse. That would explain why I am having all these problems.
- Either it didn't work for me, I'm stupid, or it's a piece of [junk]. Because when I asked it questions, I got stupid answers that no one would understand!
- This book is a really nice personal wisdom tool- if you can take a couple of quality minuets in your day & use it as instructed and seriously(without asking lite-hearted or stupid questions) it will give some pretty insightful replies for you to ponder on. I understand that Carol Bolt has also released "The Souls Book Of Answers" which answers more "open-ended" type questions(i.e. "what should I do about....."). This form of divination is relativly new to me, having studied the Tarot for several years, but I find it a refreshing break for using from time to time. The truth about all forms of divination(Tarot, Crystal Balls, Dice, Books, etc.) is that they are not "special" in themselves, but they help you to connect to the answer(s) deep within you. There are some fortunate individuals in this world who already possess highly developed "sixth senses", but for the rest of us there are tools like "The Movie Book Of Answers". Try it & find out for yourself.
- I liked this book and the only reason that I didn't
rate it a 5 is because some of the phrases do not
make any sense. Most of them do though and that is
good. The book itself is fun and I use it every time
I have a yes or no question. It is suppossed answer
your question, which most of the time it does. You
would not want buy this book if you just wanted to
read it like a chapter book. This is more for reference.
I do like the quotes, and the design, and overall this
is a good buy in my opinion!

5 comments about Ultimate 3D Game Engine Design & Architecture (Charles River Media Game Development).
- At the heart of any complex computer game there's an engine that handles the actual stuff you see on the screen. This book is on programming such an engine. It isn't a beginners book. You should have a pretty good knowledge of programming in C++, some concept of file formats, graphics design, and so on.
The layout of the book is to build a working engine. It is neither the most simple, nor the most complex but is a solid foundation for understanding what such an engine entails and can form the foundation upon which the engine can be customized and expanded to fit your needs.
There are several reasons for reading this book:
You may want to build your own engine
You may want to work for an engine company
You may be thinking of using a commercially available engine and want to know more about what's in them.
Or whatever?
Gaming engines are among the most complex probrams being written today. This book should be viewed as a basic introduction to how they are written. The CD supplied with the book has several ancillary packages as well as the full source code for the engine being developed in the book.
- This book does an OK job of walking through the basic anatomy of a game engine. You won't have anything too complex at the end of the day, because at only 500 pages, this allows only roughly 50 pages per chapter. Imagine trying to get everything you need to say about game physics in 50 pages! What was David Eberly thinking when he wrote that 800 page book on the subject? The book walks through the basics, adding features to the game engine as it goes, while never going very deep at all into any one subject. It's a good first book on what the skeleton of a modern game engine looks like, but you'll almost need a separate book to match the subject matter in each chapter in this book if you intend to put meat on those bones. On the plus side, the author uses standard C++, making the code easy to read and understand. Also, this is one of the few books on game engine design that mentions network programming issues and audio along with all of the 3D graphics issues. Another plus is that several of the chapters include student exercises, making it a good textbook choice in a class on basic game engine design. One odd thing the author does is that he continually uses UML diagrams in the book. Beginning game programmers need to focus on engine architecture and not get befuddled with software engineering issues. In general I thought the author's figures subtracted more than they added to the understanding of the book and its subject matter. The following is the table of contents:
Part 1 INTRODUCTION TO GAME ENGINES
1. Introduction to Game Engines - a "flyover" of the entire book including coding conventions used.
2. Engine Core - A discussion of data structures used, memory allocation and file I/O, and timing utilities - the basic workhorse elements of the engine.
3. Input, Sound and Networking - A long chapter that includes a look at the XBox 360 and XInput. OpenAL, which is a free API for 3D audio, along with XACT, which is Microsoft's cross-platform audio creation tool, are discussed for adding audio. Finally, networking with sockets is discussed.
Part 2 GRAPHICS AND ENVIRONMENTS
4. Rendering Systems - Includes a basic math library as well as a discussion of geometry primitives, shaders, and texturing.
5. Rendering Scenes and Scene Graphs - Describes the scene graph and how to work with it. Talks more about special effects than the more important subject of Level of Detail. Geometry sorting and culling is also discussed.
Part 3 PHYSICS, AI, AND SCRIPTING
6. Physics - Newtonian physics and games are discussed some, but there is a relatively long discussion on cloth simulation, which seems odd.
7. Artificial Intelligence - Barely touches the surface of the subject. It mentions path finding, finite state machines, and scripting, but not in near enough detail to be helpful.
8. Scripting - A very general chapter on this subject, and all too short.
PART 4 DEMOS
9. Game Demos - Discusses two demos using the engine - "Black Jack" and "The 3D Walkthrough Demo". A pretty good chapter.
PART 5 GAME OVER
10. Conclusions - A short and very general discussion of how the engine might be improved.
Appendix A. Additional Resources
Appendix B. Additional Tools
Appendix C. About the CD ROM
This is an OK first choice on understanding the basics of game engine design, just don't expect to walk away an expert after reading it.
- I purchased this book in hopes of learning how a game engine worked; and while I did not come away with nothing, I did not gain much from this book.
The tutorials and ideas presented in the book are helpful, I must admit, but they are geared entirely around building someone else's engine - not a very intuitive or personal learning experience.
I do not recommend this book.
- I was looking book on 3D engine and bought Ultimate 3D Game Engine Design & Architecture book. The primarily reason to buy that book was reviews. I was disappointed because it used OpenGL as a base for rendering. Why on earth I have to know OpenGL, why not from scratch? That was my goal to buy for engine. I do not want to look or watch picture of cubs, rather I would like to see how that can be done if I am developing an engine. This makes this book absolutely meaningless.
- This book is not an instruction manual for a programming language. Rather it designed with the avid game designer enthusiast in mind. This book will cover briefly the code necessary to create game engine components. Moreover it will focus primarily on the structure of a game engine.
In other words, from a architectural point of view it will describe how the various components: Game Physics; System; Network; Interface, etc come together. Unlike most books who give broken snippets of code it brings attention to how these components interact with each other. Thus it is an essential book to add to any game library as it describes the critical necessities of all game engines. Again this book is not focussed on learning the code, you should already be familiar with classes, and data structures in both C++ and OpenGL.
This book simply shows you how to organize what you know into something powerful. I highly recommend this book. I keep it in my library and refer to it often.

5 comments about City of Heroes (Prima's Official Strategy Guide).
- I use my book all the time. To help myself and to help other players. It is a little outdated in that it doesn't have the badges n it, but being that I have 2 computers, it is no biggie to pull the site up on one and the game on the other. Hubby and I both love it...though I use it more. : ))
- The strategy guide is outdated, and should be revised for the current issue of city of heroes, the book still refers to the villains "council" as Fifth Column, and there are other things that are clearly outdated, it would be nice if Prima would take the time to give us a quality product, all in all, I would say, if there is a marketplace seller with a cheap price on this, go for it, it's been useful, but don't pay full price for an outdated strategy guide.
- Very helpful guide. Much of CoH is not easy to understand and this guide really helps.
- Sadly, this book was outdated and inapplicable the day it hit the stands. Repeated changes to the City of Heroes interface, infrastructure and gameplay have moved the game so far away from this book it often seems to be discussing an entirely different game. In many ways, it is.
If you're looking for a quick start guide, strategy guide, or even just a collection of helpful hints, this is NOT the book you want.
- After owning the paper-back original version of this guide for COH, I bought the ring-bound version. The ring-bound version is up-to-date through Issue #6 and it is in a totally different printed format than the paperback version. It is also designed differently and probably has much better information in it since it was created well after the game had been out for a long while. Go for the ring-bound version if you want more current information. The paper-back version is good for starting, and most of its basic strategies and concepts will help you design a good character with good powers.

5 comments about Game Modeling Using Low Polygon Techniques (Charles River Media Graphics).
- This book has to many vague descrpitions that will leave the reader referencing every other reading material they own in order to figure out what the authors are talking about. The picture which the authors tell you to reference in the book are small images in black and white, which are impossilbe to make out, I bought this book used and I wanted to return it. These aurthors tell the readers to reference models which are clearly not the original model they started working with as an easy way for the authors to move on, while the reader is left scratch their heads because what they have doesn't match with the authors, Any one learning modeling aviod this book, it will only fustrate you, save your money for something else.
- Please pocket your money. Don't shell it out on this book. This book is ALL about using the extrude feature in your 3D program. Extrude this, extrude that. It's tutorials are also VERY unclear and leave you hanging in the dark with unanswered questions. It uses awful, uninspiring art for sample work throughout the tutorials. You're better off learning on your own, experimenting with the controls and what not. What a "lie" . The title is very misleading. I am never buying anything from that publishing company ever again.
- The book will show you enough to know how to make a model and UV map the thing and to be honest when your new and want to get into modding games or somthing thats all you care about however in a way I agree with the ones that were unhappy with this book in regards to the fact that you do the same thing over and over but when your new thats all you do anyways so if you want to get your feet wet and "have the EXTRA money" go ahead and buy the thing it will teach somthing you didn't know.MAYBE:) Everyone has to start somewhere!!!!

- This book would have been relevent in 1995, but lots have changed in the game modeling world since then. The really weird thing about the book is the fact that they are working entirely in triangles instead of quads. It's close to impossible to really see your mesh flow and get proper "edge looping" in areas like the shoulders and knees, an issue not even mentioned in the book. The models may look nice, but when rigged, they will move like crap. Deformation is not even mentioned and like the above reviews state, all the pages talk about "Extruding" the edge profile. That's just a start. What about poly clean-up and edge spacing? You could easily trim this book down to about 10 pages. I recommend GAME CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT WITH MAYA(even for max users) instead because Antony Ward goes into "deformation testing" while modeling a character with proper edge loops.

4 comments about SOULCALIBUR?III Official Fighter's Guide (Signature).
- This game guide is about as thorough as they come. The game's fighting mechanics and strategies are covered in detail, as are the various game modes, characters, weapons, and various unlockable content. Everything is extremely well organized, making it easy to quickly locate the information you want. The artwork and general layout of the book also looks great.
The guide has been an invaluable reference in learning how to use each fighter effectively. In addition to a complete list of the moves for each fighter and the damage they cause, there are suggestions for the best combos to use, and general strategies for using each fighter along with specific recommendations for fighting at short, medium, and long range.
As deep as the fighting system in Soul Calibur 3 is (minutes to learn, months to master), a guide like this is essential for getting up to speed quickly, and the more quickly you can learn to use each fighter effectively the more enjoyable the game is.
If you get the game, get this guide. You'll be glad you did.
- I own a good amount of strategy guides and this one seems to be just another run of the mill strategy guide. It gives descriptions of each characters most efficient range to be in, it also gives descriptions of what each chracters moves do like damage and what level they hit at, it gives the price of each item in the Shop mode and how to make the availible in Shop mode, and there is a nice poster with a picture of each character with all the weapons on it with the description of each attribute of each weapon. But this guide doesnt give you a recommended character to fight or not fight against for each character. But this guide is still very convenient to have around and that is the pupose for a startegy guide in my opinion, convenients.
- I loved this guide. That is such a complete guide. The details of the characters are incredibles and the photos... GREAT.I recommend this for everybody.
- The Strategy Guide basically consists mostly of profiles for each of the main characters. Included in these profiles are some rather trivial piece of personal information about each of the characters as well as the recommended attacks to use with that particular character. However, I believe the guide doesn't give you enough help when it comes to unlocking features of the game. To unlock these features, certain conditions have to be met. For the most part, most of these features are listed with the conditions needed to unlock them. However, I think the guide should have done a better job of explaining what you need to do in order to unlock certain events, armor types, and weapons.
This guide is somewhat useful. The artwork is very attractive. And would be worthwhile purchase for those who collect them. However, there are many other sources of information online that you could go to if all you need is help with the game.

5 comments about Diablo: The Official Strategy Guide (Secrets of the Games Series.).
- This book is very helpfull with Diablo. The most helpfull thing about it is the shrine listings. This book also helps alot to get through the single player game very well. It list all of the items (even unique and enchanted) and lists their stats too. In short, this is a very helpfull book for playing Diablo.
- biadlio was a wonderful romantic comed
- I love it, but i have a queston how do you get a trainer(AHH)? E-mail me at sportschik83@yahoo.com
- This book is a good one to become proficient at this classic role-playing game. It's key info is needed to quickly defeat Diablo. I wrote this review after winning Diablo as all three characters; swordsman, archer, and sage, over 6 months as a single player. Diablo won the 1996 game-of-the-year by the computer mags and is phenomenal game that one grows to appreciate its complexity as you get better.
In a nutshell, Diablo is a first person shoot-em-up game against 19 classes of enemies. Diablo stays interesting as the 16-playfield layouts change for each game and the 1000s of creatures have a complex variation of personalities, strengths, and weaknesses. The first 4 levels have sprawling layouts of Dungeon rooms; levels 5-8 have Catacombs which are smaller layouts of rough rock walls; levels 9-12 are Caves with large excavations and meandering streams; and the final 13-16 Hell levels are laid out as interstitial quadrangles. The game play is a nice blend between isometric 3D visualizations, character animations and sounds, and multimedia video clips. With this book, playing success is an exercise in developing strong Diablo problem-solving skills. Initially looking on the Internet for Diablo cheatz which were few as its a legacy 6-year old game. What this book provides is info and strategy that can help you defeat the myriad of creatures and quests. My book has become a much thumbed, reread, indexed, and enhanced with scrawled notes on how to defeat them. For example, I found that the easiest character to win was the Rogue archer-woman and won Diablo in 3 games, as archery is a distance scenario. The next easiest character to win was the Warrior swordsman, completed in 5 games, mainly because of hand-to-hand combat experience as a kid. The most difficult character, of course, was the sage Sorcerer, which took me 9 games to win because of the myriad (26) magic potions that need to be mastered. This book gives you an informal discussion and tables of characteristics without all the trial and error. Although it discusses general tactics, it is weak in overall game strategy and specific tactics on specific minions. This book provides details on the power of weapons and armor and strength and weaknesses of enemies. It also covers the 17 special Quests quite well. The author writes in an entertaining prose and presents key info is in complex tables. I found that Blizzard's production release of Diablo v1.04 and internet update download to v1.08 was very stable and reliable on a P5/233MMX, Socket7 PCI mobo TX chipset, ATI Rage PCI video, 64MB RAM, 52X CD, 10GB HD, and SB16 running Win98SE. The book is divided into 10 chapters including the making of, but has no index or glossary, which is a serious beginner's omission as the game's jargon is voluminous. There could have been a List of Tables too. And these tables could have had summaries or group breakouts so that the many character(s)(istics) are better organized. The screen shots could be larger and less dark. I bought it at a local used bookstore and the game at a garage sale. Of course, certain key subjects and data tables had erroneous or omitted information. Each game is saved in the game folder as single_X.SV, where X is 0 to 9; ten games max. Thus create a historical archive subfolder and keep old and partially played games there. Second, game files vary from 200KB to 3MB. So burn game files onto a CD, email, or save on a Zip to impress friends and foes. Finally, do judicious saving for replaying level(s) that eventually went sour. Use the keyboard Ctrl+Alt+Esc to toggle to Windows for making notes and performing file maintenance. To win maximize building experience points and accumulating gold and key special weapons. Finding, identifying, and redeeming EVERY single weapon, armor, chest, scroll, staff, book, ring, tomb, library, and shrine on every level to maximize your power. Often the first 5 levels and what you accumulate therein can give you a premonition on the final outcome of the game. For example, the Sorcerer is quite vulnerable in the beginning and the player must strive to play almost perfect levels. Waste the least amount of resources on the minions and don't let them touch you. Learn to run away and lead them into a trap. Accumulate and convert your operating weapons and armor from standard to special ones. Sell as many of the std weapons for health, mana, and ID scrolls from Adria, the Witch. Buy ID scrolls from her as much as possible compared to paying Cain to ID. Categorize the specials and unique weapons and armor into red and blue (fire and lightning resistant), in rows on the ground so that best combinations can be easily selected. Run a pre-level scouting expedition to find what's new on each level. Return to town near the beginning of each level and always re-visit Adria. Apparently attacking minions on a new level triggers her to provide a new list of scrolls, books, and staffs. Accumulate and deploy key fire, lightning, and mana shield spell books rapidly, compared to duplicative staffs and scrolls which are redeemed for more gold. Spell books, and their cumulative power from multiple units, will affect later quest outcomes. If it is taking too much to finish off a minion; its probably because you are doing it wrong. Finally, Quests do not have to be completed serially; do the first five levels without doing the Butcher and King Leoric. Then when stronger and with Arkaine's Valor armor, return back and efficiently finish off the buzzards. Use fKey to Holy Bolt for dealing with skeletons, zombies, King Leoric, and finally Diablo.
- Diablo is one of the easiest games to beat. Also, its usually only fun on B.net, and on B.net people are always hacking. There is just no need for a strategy guide, only for D2, its fun on the single-player mode.

5 comments about Lineage II: The Chaotic Chronicle (Prima's Official Strategy Guide).
- I purchased this guide recently, and don't feel I got my money's worth. It is a valuable tool, yet most of the information contained within is already listed on websites like wwww.l2orphus.com. There are multiple typing errors - some paragraphs aren't even complete, and it appears whole sections are missing, - like in the Dark elf section they don't even discuss the Shillen Knights in depth like they do the rest of the other class choices. To correct; it isn't discussed at all. Though overall I guess these details could be labeled minor - I still don't think this is worth the money so look around before you buy it I am sure you will be able to find the same information online, for free.
- This book has some general tips and information. there is no in depth information concerning quests, maps, or anything that is really useful in playing the game. I wouldnt waste my money on it if i had to do over again.
- This is my first review on Amazon. That aside, let me get this clear:
I normally am very impressed with Prima's Strategy guides.
That out of the way, this book is horrible. A joke. A mockery. Entire paragraphs are paraphrased OR copied word for word from one class to another! They don't EVEN change a word to make it more personalized. This is not some general comment. I can back it up with specific references if need be.
Also, it contradicts itself very very often. For example, it may say that a class exceeds in several areas, specifically its speed, attack speed, and magic resist. However, in the next paragraph, it will mention, "however keep in mind that do to your slow run speed you should avoid..." Uhh..durr....
Sentences often trail to an end mid-statment. The dwarves class tips are a joke, there are not even any tips on the Elf Wizard, and at LEAST 3 other classes that I cannot recall the names of at the moment but I know they are missing. All 3 archer classes (Hawkeye, Silver Ranger, and the DE Equivalent) are almost exact copies of one another, with maybe 1 paragraph different.
This book is ONLY good for referencing the lists of skills (which it is superb at) and maps for a few dungeons, but not all! This guide would disgust any mediocre L2 fan, and anyone new to the game will be dissapointed at no maps for any starter town. A lot of mispellings as well. A LOT.
A side note: I understand that most strategy guides for on-line play cannot be expected to be accurate when describing actual strategy for in-game actions. However, this guide does not even hit the target close. The author(s) seem to love referring to different classes with one phrase to sum them up. I.E. Hawk Eye being the best siege archer, the Silver Ranger being the best kiting archer... pretty true in this example, though the difference is miniscule, however the descriptions of many other classes leave much to be desired.
You can definetly tell what classes the author(s) played. Read through the Orc class descriptions and tips. It is full to the brim. Then read the Elf Mystic, Elf Fighter, Dwarf, or pretty much even Dark Elf or Human pages. It is empty and copied and pasted from each other. The Dwarf description is laughable! One paragraph to describe a 40-70 class?!?!
One thing is clear, this book was RUSHED and quality was thrown out the window because of it. Prima editors must have been on vacation for the week.
To sum up, this guide is good for referencing skill lists for the classes. Anything else, and this book is a waste of hard earned adena, err, money.
Thanks
Alan
- I found it very informative. There is definitly more in this guide the Prima Beginner's guide given with the game. I would recommend it.
- I would recommend this stradegy guide to everybody because it has a full description on quest from level 1-50,Items drop from monsters and vice-versa (what monsters drop or what items u can get from monsters)and the %percent ratio of the drop item from monsters. A full spec of skills from 1st profession to the 3rd profession. Maps from starter village to end game maps. You get crafting recipes from no grade items to S grade items. a complete guide of warping directions to towns(very helpful because some town u can only warp to one direction and have to go another town to just warp back).I like the fact that i could see how much an weapon cost from any town and what type of weapon it is and type. The npc guide is superb and it shows every npc on map and stores and warp npcs. The leveling guide is good to. It shows u where to camp out at your level solo or grouping.I can go on and on telling you about this guide but its too detailed for me to speak it all. overall i got my money's worth and you won't get dissapointed of your purchase. I give it a 5 star +++++ .

- It really doesnt get better than this folks. This book has it ALL. There is absolutly nothing you could possibly want that isn't presented in this magnificent tome. In fact, you could go through the whole game plot and all just by reading the book! It is CHOCK FULL of pictures and is made of nice durable material with a semi-hard cover. ...
- Although FFA was superbly done, this guide leaves...something to be desired. There wasn't much space devoted to character stats, and the mpas could have been presented in a better way. Overall, though, this guide will get you thourgh FFA, without giving away ALL of the plot, and giving you many of the secrets needed for mini-games, etc. A must buy for a FF fan, but not for many other people.
- This is an essential guide for the Anthology. It covers weapons, armor, accessories, and abilities well. A few reservations, though: 1) There is no extensive list of where to get Blue Magic spells for FFV (you'll find hints scattered throughout the wlkthrough); 2) There is no clarification of which classes can equip a certain item for FFV. Otherwise, you cannot ask for a better guide.
- This is a remarkable book with hints and tips on how to beat bosses, get secret items, and completely beat both 5 & 6. I would recommend you first try to beat it yourself before buying this book. If you still have trouble getting the best out of these games then go right ahead and buy it. If you still are stumped after looking at the book then I would give up and play another game.
- My girlfriend got me this guide for Christmas the year the game came out. I wasnt to sure how well it would help me, mainly because Cassady had to cram two games into one book. Well, he managed to do it, and to do a hell of a job with it. Each game has step by step walkthroughs that are a great help and helps you with tons of secrets. This is a very good guide.
