5 comments about Assassin's Creed: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides).
- Great gameplay and scene just a hint when playing the 4th kill you will have to find the view points just a hint
- This guide will get you through the whole story, but there are quite a few mistakes that will definitely hinder you if you're trying to get every little thing the game offers. One example is the locations of the Templars on the Kingdom map vs the given screenshot examples. The screenshots are listed 1-30, but on the map, the numbers 31 and 32 appear while 23 and 24 don't exist. With this mistake in place it causes a major mismatch with the numbers to the screenshots. It took me a long time to figure out what was happening and even longer to correct the mistakes. Guides are supposed to help you on your missions and quests and this one didn't do a very good job. Instead of having fun, I became quite frustrated only because the guide was not carefully put together.
And for those who did buy this guide and happen to read this, one other notable mistake on the Kingdom Map for the location of King Richard's Flag, is that there are two number 30s and no number 67. The number 30 on the top right of the map is supposed to be number 67.
- I actually bought this guide as a quick add-on purchase to bulk up my order for free shipping! I've never bought game guides before and generally considered them to be a bit of a cop-out. However, I realized that I just wasn't getting enough time to play Assassin's Creed on a regular enough basis and I thought that a guide might help me to "pick up" the game easier after some time away from it.
What I didn't realize was that the Guide would actually improve my enjoyment of the game entirely!
The guide is jam-packed with hints and tips of how to get around some tricky parts of the game, yet doesn't give away too much that it becomes completely unchallenging. The guide helps open up parts of the games and the maps that might otherwise be un-explored. So not only am I enjoying the game more, I'm playing the game on a much deeper level.
SO - about the guide itself. Its quite well layed out, so information is relatively easy to find. However, no index makes searching a little tougher than it needs to be. Thankfully its not too thick, so you can navigate the pages relatively easily. There have been some complaints about the maps not being accurate. There is an update on the website with pdfs of the maps if you need them. But I'm guessing that they updated the print version, because I've yet to see any issues with the maps so far (I'm about half way through the game now). Outside of the maps, the guide is full of information about each district and provides a very informative and fun way to interact with this fantastic game on a deeper level than the casual player.
I recommend it!
- This game is easily the best of it's genre. That being said, there aren't many games like this, with free roaming, duty free game play tied so nicely to a storyline complete with interrogations, pickpocketing, and of course, assassination
- This book explain the games perfect and the map design was good. It's easy to finish the game. I didn't miss anything. This book described excellent.

5 comments about LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT-G Programming Guide (Technology in Action).
- The book consists of 26 chapters plus 1 appendix.
The first 2 chapters cover the questions of "What is a robot" and "What is a program" and introduce the topic of pseudo code. There are many different methods when it comes to pseudo code, but this method will hopefully help teachers, parents, and students to understand how to take an idea for a program and turn it into actual NXT-G block code.
All 36 blocks are covered (the book is useful for both the retail version software and the educational version), and each block has its own chapter with the exception of a couple of blocks that share a chapter (such as the Random block and Number-To-Text block that share chapter 14).
There is a chapter dedicated to the concept of data plugs and wires (Chapter 7). This can be one of the more confusing elements of NXT-G, so this chapter uses a simplified method of showing how data types (number, text, logic) are passed between blocks.
Another chapter provides a walkthrough on creating a My Block. My Blocks are powerful methods for simplifying NXT-G programs, and this chapter shows how the ability to re-use My Blocks can be helpful.
Finally, the appendix covers some basic math such as converting back and forth between degrees and rotations. It also explains the LCD screen's resolution and how the X/Y coordinates work.
Teachers, parents, coaches, and kids should find this book useful. It's written in a very friendly and easy-to-read style and provides plenty of sample programs in each chapter to demonstrate how to use the blocks. Also, coverage of each block's configuration panel is also provided. Overall, the book can be used as an additional source of information on the NXT-G programming language to supplement the Help files included with the software.
- There's no other book out there that covers the NXT-G programming language. Jim Kelly covers the subject thoroughly, in a clear, friendly and encouraging style.
The book not only covers NXT-G, it's also a primer on what programming is and how it works. With this book, teachers, students and beginners will have everything they need to understand how NXT-G works and how to use it. Advanced users will learn a thing or two as well, particularly with respect to some of the lesser known blocks within the NXT-G program.
- When it comes to wanting to do Lego Mindstorm NXT-G, this is the first book you should get. The book shows the reader what different blocks are and how they work. The book also reads in terms that middle school students can understand and follow. Programming is the most difficult item that you have to do with a roboit. This book shows is a great resource for people that are in to lego roboits.
- We bought this book for our nine year old son who had recently received the Mindstorms NXT for Christmas. He could not put the book down - read it from cover to cover and thinks it is a great book. Highly recommend.
- This book covers a lot of ground on NXT-G programming and is a must have resource for anyone serious about programming in NXT-G as the on line help included with the NXT set is not adequate.
As a professional programmer and a robotics hobbyist, I would recommend that anyone wanting to bring out the full potential of their NXT creations move to a text based language like Robot-C instead. While NXT-G is good for simple programs, it is just to difficult to create anything of any complexity as the graphical elements and all those connecting lines distract you from what you are trying to accomplish.
I am giving this book 5 stars because it does well at what it is, a reference / guide to the NXT-G programming language. It is NXT-G itself that I would only give 2 stars.

5 comments about WarCraft Archive (Warcraft).
- All 10million users of World of Warcraft should read these books! It should be mandatory reading, for the pure simple fact of making the online world we play in richer. Blizzard has created an amazing world with an in-depth history, these books (there are 4 books in the Archive) will provide more in-sight and change the way you look at some of the NPC and locations.
While reading these books you will find yourself thinking about locations you have played in during questing, you will go to the website to look up the world map so you can picture where the characters are at. You will love them, and you will want to buy all the WoW books, I have.
- simply: a great background, but does perfectly on its own as well. well-written, fully engaging.
- My son is a WOW-head and plays the game all the time. Being a parent who wishes he spent more time reading, I found these books to be a great way to extend his interest in WOW, and have him read as well. They aren't 'game guides' but actual stories set in the World of Warcraft. This contains four stories and he seems to love them.
- This was the most exciting collection of Warcraft books since the "War of the Ancients" series. All four books within take place within the same time frame. All of the Authors from Richard Knaak to Christie Golden seem to create the images through words and when you read their stories it feels like you are watching them on the big screen. If you are new to Warcraft then this is the book to read.
- Really enriches my game playing by absorbing me in the history of the places and races in the game!

5 comments about Super Mario Galaxy: Prima Official Game Guide.
- This has been very helpful to undersatnd the game without telling directly how to do it.
- This has to be one of the most disorganized, hardest-to-follow guides I have ever read. The maps of galaxies are small and pointless. Explanations are sometimes great, but more often very hard to understand. If you're looking for the hidden stars, the guide has them listed but not in any kind of way that you can easily find the right page.
- After reading some of the reviews on here I feel much better knowing that I am not alone when I say this guide is out of order. I hate to say this because I am one who has owned many guides and never had to complain about it being all over the place and this seems to be the very first one where I must say it's disorganized. Take for an example...After you beat The Good Egg Galaxy and you flip the next page states about the comet which will appear..ok when exactly and how many stars do you need so that can take place?! That really got me angry because it's suppose tell you when this event takes place I only came to find out when I had went to other planets and had a certain amount of stars that then the comet appear but that happend many stars later!! The guide did not tell me that at all! Then after they tell you about the comet they say Luigi appears in good egg galaxy but that ONLY happens after you go to another galaxy to another planet!! Then way post it in the good egg galaxy part when that event is not going to take place at that moment!!! As far as the maps it's really great and the pictures are great too also the author gives some educational tips but thats all. I payed 20.00 for a book thats unorganized. It bothers me because for such an award winning game you think they would make sure the guides do justice. I was doing really good with out the guide really but I knew if I didn't get it and I got stuck I would be kicking myself so I gave in. Sorry but this guide only gets one star. It may be beautiful but in the end the organization and words are way more important then that.
- Don't waste your money on this POS. If you need a walk through go to YouTube.
This book is impossible to to learn from. The photos and text are far too small to read. The book does not follow any logical order.
Please save your money. I could never find anything I was looking for.
- It works great. What else can I say? The only thing missing are cheat codes :)

5 comments about Sinnoh Handbook (Pokemon).
- Meant as a Christmas gift, this book was intercepted by my two boys, who absolutely loved the artwork and creature descriptions.
Well worthwhile for any Pokemon fan.
- My 7 y.o. daughter caught the Pokemon craze from her 15 y.o. brother who has loved those pocket monsters since he was very little. This book was read cover to cover within the first day and it is taken along on doctor visits & car trips to pass the time - great selection!
- I ordered this book for my 6-year-old son who is really into Pokemon at the moment. He absolutely loves this book.
The book features many of the most popular Pokemon, gives a brief summary of their abilities and even states their height, weight and possible moves.
What's best about this book for me as a mother is that my son, a first-grader, practices his reading without me asking him too, because he is so fascinated by all the informative stats about all his favorite Pokemon. And the book does actually use some big words that he would not encounter in the typical first-grader reading books.
I can recommend this book to any Pokemon fan or parent thereof!
- My 8 year old loves this book. It has all his favorite characters, the pictures are big and detailed so he enjoys drawing them on paper as well. A+
- The Pokemon Sinnoh Handbook was released to give information about the Pokemon that are part of Pokemon: Diamond and Pearl. The first page of the book explains why the book was written. The second page explains what the reader will find on the page for each Pokemon (the Pokemon's name, what species it is, a pronunciation guide for the Pokemon's name, its possible moves, what Pokemon type it is, its height and weight, its evolution chain, and interesting facts about the Pokemon. Five Pokemon (Abra, Blissey, Cleffa, Golduck, and Seaking) also have a special "Remember When..." box included in their entries for trivia from the TV series. There is also an introduction to the Sinnoh region, which explains how a trainer starts out in the region.
After all of the pages about the Pokemon, there is an appendix titled, "Ash & Friends," which gives brief biographies for Ash, Brock, and Dawn; included on each trainer's page are pictures of which Pokemon they have. At the very back of the book is a fold-out poster with all the Pokemon featured in the book.
I did find a couple of errors in the book. Blissey's height is included, but the weight was left off. Also, Cherubi's Solarbeam attack is listed twice under its possible moves.
From the design of the book, as well as the way the book is written, it's obvious that children are the target audience. However, there is valuable information included, so adults shouldn't shy away from purchasing the Pokemon Sinnoh Handbook.

5 comments about Pokemon Emerald (Prima Official Game Guide).
- this book is very useful for beating the initial game, and it provides sufficient info on how to catch the legendary pokemon. overall, it is a very good guide for beginners, and veteran pokemon gamers.
- This guide is good because it tells you how to do things. It has great maps and tells you where to get items. It gives great tips to get legends. Good PokeDex which people always complain. It really helps you find the Pokemon. BUY THIS!!!!!!!
- Like most Prima Game Guides this guide is packed with hints tips and Walk through. Great guide if you love these games! :)
- Let me just say that I loved Prima's Ruby and Sapphire guide but this guide is such a let down I can't believe I wasted my money on it. Most if not all of the maps are from Ruby and Sapphire (I compared). It doesn't give you much information either. Everything is crammed together and the things that you have to go back and do later blend into everything else so you forget to go do something after you've completed a certain task. This guide didn't help me at all. The extra information you buy guides for just wasn't there and I honestly could have just used my Ruby and Sapphire guide and it would have helped me MORE. Buy at your own risk or if you're not that interested in the game and don't care about quality.
- This book is nearly useless. Instead of providing a walkthrough, where one typically can follow the steps and progress through the game, the editor chose to sort by location. This means that when you look up Meteor Falls you see something you may be able to do now as well as what you'll need to do in the same location later in the game. To make matters worse there is no distinction made between the two events so it's difficult to know if the later events are able to be done now, or if it's something you'll have to come back for.
The only real reason to pick this up is for the Pokédmon listing that corresponds to this specific game, in other games Pokémon acquire abilities at different levels

5 comments about Warcraft: World of Warcraft: Rise of the Horde (World of Warcraft).
- I could not put this book down!
The author does such a fantastic job in descriptions, details, excitement, and adventure. You really get the feel for each character and can feel their emotions. EXCELLENT read, especially if you love the Warcraft lore!
- This book is very interesting. I would recomend this book because it is so cool.
- ... from a WoW novel. It was stunning, really. Okay, maybe that isn't the right word. But if you're a diehard fan of the games like me, you'll find yourself very attached to the storylines, especially if you're an Orc and/or Draenei fan. Some of the scenes near the end of the novel had me very emotional as you watch a genocide, one of a race and another of an ancient culture.
I suggest this to every single WoW player out there who wants to start reading the books.
- As literature, it isn't one of the best books I have ever read, but as a book based on a game (or RPG) - what usualy results in not very good histories, and I have read many - it's good. It's well written.
In order to have how to compare my taste would be good to you to know that to me "Tides of darkness" was bad (too descriptive); "Cycle of hatred", tasteless (no emotion, no surprise); "They of the dragon" worse, it's boring; "Of blood and honor" is nice; "The last guardian" is very cool"; and I think that "Lord of the clans is good", but "Rise of the Horde" is a bit better.
It's very cool to "see" guys like Gul'dan, Ner'Zhul, a young Doomhammer and Hellscream, as well as Kiljaeden and Archimond yet as "normal" people (hahaha).
The way it's explained why a shamanistic and relatively peacefull race, became engaged in a war with his very tranquil neybohood, was a great idea (demons rules!)
The rise of the horde (the fact, not the book) is terrifying. Durotan seems a very lucid german, before the second war, seeing the third reich rising and he can't do anything to stop it. Chirstie Golden makes you feel Durotan's pain.
To finish: the book is worth it's price. Buy it! You will have some fun.
- This was a wonderful book, I really enjoyed the background it gives, it helps to flesh out the story a little better, and gives you more insight into the Orcs, and the Draenei. Well worth purchasing.

5 comments about Final Fantasy X-2 Official Strategy Guide.
- I was very pleased with the speed in which my game guides came in. They were perfect when they arrived and I was very excited to start using them.
- This strategy Guide is very very resourceful full of information and its awesome! Tells you where everything is and how to get there. If you wanna complete the game with 100% this strategy guide book is here for you!
Cody Collum
- My purchasing experience was excellent and my daughter was very impressed with this item as a gift. It was received timely and in excellent condition.
- Nearly all the way through the game and a 100% completion in one run. Without a guide like this I don't see how anyone could get 100% even after several times through the game.
- The shipping was fast and the product arrived in lovely condition. However the book itself was poorly written, and if you're buying this I STRONGLY recommend reading the mini games section first as the only way to see the entire ending of the game is if you complete some of these things, a fact which is not mentioned until well AFTER you're 1/4 of the way through the book itself. I was very satisfied with the purchase, but as most of you know FF isn't a short wham-bam game and it was horribly disappointing that after getting 15-16 hours in we realized we'd be watching the end of the game on youtube anyways =p Also, there were still parts that were explained in such uncertain terms we ended up using the internet to find the answers anyways. A die hard FF fan....I was extremely disappointed in Dan Birlew's product this time.

5 comments about Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire (Prima's Official Strategy Guide).
- My daughter love the whole Pokemon genre, and especially enjoys the GameBoy Pokemon games. She has poured through this book many times already and just loved it. I highly recommend it.
- Man, this is an awesome guide. I just got it in November and I already am at the Victory Road, about to enter the Pokemon League! Some reviews says it tells lies, and skips around the world of Hoenn; it doesn't! Some people even say that it skips Trainer imformation; but that's because Trainer's Pokemon are random. And for the "skipping around" part, just use the Quick Walkthrough to be guided and then head to the events of Hoenn in "Maps of Hoenn"! Some reviewers say that the guide calls Rock types Earth types, but that's usual. The guide even contains a Pokedex section, a List of Moves and a list of items! Here are the good and bad details about the guide (although it isn't that bad.)
- The Good,
- Nice walkthrough that connects to the Quick Walkthrough.
- Thorough Pokedex, containing every Pokemon.
- Nice charts for moves, and items.
- Strategies for all Sub Quests and Pokemon Contests.
- Good strategies for gym leaders, rivals and proteges, a.k.a. Wally.
- Nice maps showing every building.
- Locations of all Pokemon
- The Bad,
- Doesn't include Secret Bases.
- On the battle with Archie in the Seafloor Cavern, he doesn't have a Golbat, he has a Crobat.
- And the Ugly(I'm just kidding!)
Anyway, buy this guide; it's well worth it!
- The only real problem with the guide is the Pokedex in the back does not give enough information.
-
I bought this book for my son and he really enjoyed reading it becuase he was really into the game he had. It's a good manual if your kids play the game.
- I regret bying this peice. I bought it right when fire red and leaf green first came out. It does not halve the complete walkthrough. It cuts out on the islands, only showing you three of the seven islands. I think it might not even tell you there are seven Islands.Nor does it mention anything about getting ho-hoh, lugia, or deoxys. if you get stuck there, you'd be screwed. you think they put in a few more pages to give you all of the game. by time i got to the end and did not have four islands, i was so mad. And their is a different book which did include them, from a different company. Spend your money on a better product. If you like the pokedex, than buy just a poke dex book.

5 comments about Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Official Strategy Guide.
- I'm not much of a gamer but my friends encouraged me to get this for my kids for their XBOX and told me I'd better get it for the PC because I'd never get a chance to play it on the XBOX...I'm glad they did...this is an amazing game...the storyline and graphics are tremendous! I highly recommend it.
- Very helpful product, especially for a new player like me. In fact, I would say it is essential. The strategies and intel information are as good or better than those available online, yet are handy in nice, glossy paper content whenever you need the information. Screenshots are plentiful.
My major criticism is that the book focuses on online multiplayer action, so not as helpful to a single player like I am.
I would like to see more details on the game basics, such as on weapons (caliber, magazine capacity, stopping power, range, etc.), and strategies for why you would choose one weapon vs. another (there is some of this, but I would like more).
That said, it is very highly recommended for every player, and a must have at around $15, or less.
- I asked a buddy whether he liked Oblivion more that Final Fantasy VII. He was dumbfounded and was about to suggest something, and then I cut in.
"It's like asking which I like better, Call of Duty 4 or Tetris. I can do that. I like Call of Duty 4 better."
- Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Official Strategy Guide.
the guide is up to date and very helpful.
- Simply put, this guide is really low on information.
The single player info is pretty sparse and the multiplayer info is just not that useful.
