  1. I personally do not reccomend this book. There are many errors in it, incomplete walkthrus and pointlists. Inconsistencies are numerous in this book as well. This was definately NOT worth the money I paid for it. The only good thing about it, really, was the screen-shots (B&W, though). All-in-all, good for collectors, bad for gamers; it gets the official "Herk Thumbs-Down"

  2. I don't know what the other people are talking about; it has the full points list for all of the characters. The only errors I found were that for the fighter's path, it doesnt' give all of the correct bets for the combat arena.

  3. I found very little wrong with this strategy guide. The character descriptions and the puzzle solving hints were very helpful. The only problem I found was that the book gave incorrect arena betting information for the fighter's path.

  4. Comprehensive help with everything you need for all levels of expertise

  5. A good coverage of the different paths taken in this game is provided in fairly detailed walkthroughs. Not much in the way of weapon, armor, or monster stats is provided; then again, there isn't a large number of enemy/weapon/armor types to deal with. There are some errors concerning points lists, but it is not that important; following the book will give you a perfect score of 1000 anyway. One problem -- it does not properly show how to win Katrina's love. [....] Overall, it does provide you with some neat strategies and tricks. A good companion while playing.

  1. This Strategy Guide is great. It has extremely well detailed and defined color maps for every level, and depicts where each Field Task is on larger, Region maps. Just as an attempt to clarify something that, when I purchased this product, wasn't clarified by Amazon: this guide is not really for the Xbox360 version of the game (I know many of you may already have known that, but for those who didn't, just trying to help). Now, the basic gameplay and levels are the same, but there are indeed a few minor differences that could occur when trying to use this guide with the XB360 version of the game. Also, there are many more medals for the PS2/Xbox versions, and the guide only tells those, and doesn't separate XB360 medals from them, leading me to believe that it is not specifically designed for XB360. Just wanted to help out those who may make the same mistake I did.

  2. I bought this to learn the PC version, which seems quite different than the console...

However, it looks like a very good guide for xbox, etc.

Don't buy it if you're playing BF2 on PC....better (and really only) information is online.

2 comments about Amarillo Slim's Play Poker to Win: Million Dollar Strategies from the Legendary World Series of Poker Winner.
  1. Play Poker to Win is filled with many of Amarillo Slim's famous anecdotes, as well as some advice about the game itself. You can go into this book not understanding much about the game, and after 1 or 2 reads, play a decent hand.

Not great if you are looking for a book on playing poker really, but good if you want poker humour, and action.

  2. _Play Poker to Win_ isn't the usual kind of poker strategy book. It's about 60% anecdotes (the anecdotes are the usual mix of hilarious Slimmagisms; two or three are repeated from _Amarillo Slim in a World of Fat People_, because they are worth repeating) and 40% poker advice. The poker advice is often over-specific. The reader has to pick through to find the useful advice, and then thoroughly analyze what Slim is saying, working out how to generalize it enough to actually use it. You definitely would not want to use this as your first or only poker reference.

This is offset by the occasional gem of insider thinking, and the exposure to the way Slim thinks about hands and games. If you just read this book with a lively and open mind, you may very well get infected with a winner's attitude, which is worth far more than the price of the book.

Besides, any book that casually calls Former World Champion Phil Hellmuth, Jr. "soft as butter at the poker table. ... only half kidding[ly] ..." (p. 154) has got to be worth a look.

5 comments about Super Mario 64 Game Secrets: Unauthorized (Secrets of the Games Series.).
  1. I found the book to be only somewhat helpful. I did not find this book to be very clear on descriptions of the courses and how to find the stars. I felt that "Super Mario 64 : Totally Unauthorized (The Super Mario Game Series)" by Ronald Wartow and Christine Cain to be a much more helpful book.

  2. The tips are great, but the author doesn't know the names of the courses and some enemies. For the names of courses, check the bottom of the screen or press Start. You can find names of enemies from other video games;I would pick Mario Party 2. For example, "pink bomb guys" are really Bob-ombs.Thanks for reading!

  4. THIS IS A GOOD BOOK ONLY IF YOU LIKE TO READ A LOT OF BLAH BLAH BLAH. I EXPECTED THIS TO BE A BOOK OF CHEAT CODES OR SOMETHING TO THAT EFFECT, AND IT WAS NOT IN THE LEAST. IF YOU PUT A BOOK IN A LIST OF CHEAT CODE BOOKS, MAKE SURE IT IS JUST THAT. OTHER THAN THAT, IT WILL DO I GUESS, BUT IT IS TOOOO EXPENSIVE FOR THE INFORMATION GIVEN.

  5. Here, I noticed this was a great guide, but with a few errors here and there. One is that the author doesn't know the names of the courses, even if they are right in the game. He calls them Bomb World, Tower World, Water World, Snow World, Haunted Mansion, Cavern World, Fire World, Desert World, Submarine World, Snowman World, Water Puzzle World, Mushroom World, Green Pipe World, Clockwork World, and Magic Carpet World. Also, I noticed several spelling errors. The thing that annoyed me the most is that I noticed switched pictures. Yes, and there were A LOT!!! For example, the caption for one picture really goes with the other picture. Good, but with these errors. The author should've noticed these switched pictures and sent out a new revised version of the guide.
