5 comments about Paper Mario Official Strategy Guide (Bradygames Strategy Guides).
- This guide to Paper Mario doesnt contain everything that you need to complete the game, but its not far short. This guide tells you instantly if there are any items to be collected in every are, and it gives you details about all of the characters. This is the best guide about at the moment so if you are stuck and need a little bit of guidance then give this guide a look over. (its not cheating, its a little guidance)
- This strategey guide really helps if ever you get suck on a puzzle or anywhere just take a look inside this nifty strategey guide.
- This strategey guide really helps if ever you get stuck on a puzzle or anywhere just take a look inside this nifty strategey guide.
- I got this guide used so I only paid $2 for it, yet I still feel ripped off. The main reason I wanted a strategy guide for Paper Mario were the lists and side-quest information, but that is exactly where it falls flat on its face. There is no list of Koopa Koot's favors (which the guide errantly says there is on page 47), the list of recipes is missing 15 of them, the Chuck Quizmo questions list gives the wrong answer at least once (#9: 5 should be 6), there are no in-depth strategies for things like leveling up(as it says there is on page 39), the badge list is missing 5 badges and lists one of them twice (First Attack), and the great in-depth strategy on defeating the master tells you nothing more than his basic stats. That's like telling a boxer how much Mike Tyson weighs and how long his reach is and then throwing him into the ring. The one thing that this guide does do well is the basic walkthrough and puzzle solutions, unfortunately, the puzzles in Paper Mario usually involve stepping on a single switch, so the extraneous attention in that department was unnecessary. Also, keep in mind that the errors I listed above were discovered on a casual read of the guide. Under further scrutiny, I'm certain that many more holes and mistakes would be found. It's a shame that many of these problems could have been solved by a $10 an hour proofreader. However, other problems with this guide would not be so easy to fix, such as its obvious incompleteness. Reading this guide makes me long for the official Nintendo Power publication. I would not want to suffer through one of Brady Games guides again, and hopefully readers of this review will be spared ahead of time.
- The walkthrough in this guide is good and will allow you to get through the game; however, unlike what it claims, this guide does NOT cover all of the side material. The Koopa Koot quests are not covered, and the list of Tayce T.'s recipes is incomplete. There is also no list of badge locations. Overall, the Nintendo Power guide is a far better guide; the only thing this one does better is the list of Chuck Quizmo's quiz questions; it provides the answers, while the NP guide does not. Overall, just go with the NP guide.

1 comments about Black (Prima Official Game Guide).
- I bought this guide hoping,as if falesly claims, to give the complete stats for the weapons in the game.
Well,if complete stats for weapons means, "this gun is heavy",then I suppose its true. Forget about rating the damage or the rate of fire for each gun - these things are NOT listed! But it will tell you what kind of sight the gun utilizes. Worthless.
The walkthrough and maps are good. Just don't get your hopes up to find out about the "Stars of the Game", the guns.
Im so disappointed....

5 comments about Battlefield 2 (Prima Official Game Guide).
- Gives great strategy tips on each map, but needs more info on how to operate the different vehicles. Plus changes have been made since the game's inception through the patches. Scoring, game dynamics and rankings are different now. An updated guide with better vehicle training would be great.
- Battlefield 2 is hands down the greatest game I have ever owned. The only thing is that you should heavily consider upgrading to 1 GB RAM on your computer.
The ZBoard gaming keyboard is also a must, so get one set up for Battlefield 2.
- This book explained a lot that the software package didnt. Worth the money.
- This strategy guide is useless to anyone able to search sites made by Battlefield 2 fans. The statistics such as weapon firing rates are outdated because the many patches that have been made for the game have altered numbers for balance reasons. It doesn't even mention over a half dozen of the game's weapons & several vehicles because it was published before either expansion pack was released. Finally, the advice/tips are no better than the stuff you can read for free from player guides throughout fansites.
It's not that anything in this prima guide is bad...it's just not good enough to be worth money.
- I'm seeing comments in some of these reviews about the game being released by Prima. That is not true, EA/DICE released the PC version.
Excellent book, by the way, very detailed.

3 comments about Game Development Business and Legal Guide (Game Development).
- This is a great book for anyone that wants to know the actual details of media related law and intellectual property, but doesn't have the time to get a law degree. I own a small software and web company and we are constantly paying attorneys to review "potential" copyright, patent, and other infringements. I have wasted so much time paying for legal advice, but it seems like these experts never can give me a straight answer. I have been looking for a book that can be understood by a non-attorney, but that has explicit examples of copyright law, trademarks, what is legal, and what is not. After reading this book, I feel 100x more confident now, and I immediately no longer need legal advice in many areas, I KNOW the law in the areas, and can be confident that my decisions are reasonable. I highly recommend this book to any executive or business person that is in the intellectual property loop, but is sick of not understanding what is what.
- I manage nearly 50 software engineers at a fortune 500 company. Once I got this book, I realized that our engineer contracts are extremely weak given the volatile nature of many software developers (something I've personally witnessed), and if anything ever went wrong under our existing terms, we'd be in a very litigious situation. Thanks to the information presented here, however, I've been able to outline a strategy for our legal department to consider for a revised draft that could potentially save our company millions of dollars and countless manhours of paperwork in averted lawsuits and other such nightmares. Take it from me-- most engineering managers and entrepreneurs are not as well versed in legal issues as they should be. This book was a huge eye-opener and I recommend it highly.
- I've been running a video game company that is now over 10 years old. It is refreshing to read a book that distills the important information, approaches the industry with a clear mind, and promotes useful thought even for veterans. Well done!

- Great guide it realy helps when you get stuck. Nice pictures and very helpful.
- So far the "Steam" online loader will not allow my game to run. After the first scene the screen freezes up. My system is newer (Only 6 months old) so it is not due to an ancient computer/ graphics card. Once I can actually load the game I will give a more detailed review.

1 comments about Dragon Quest.
- A note before reading the review. Piggyback Interactive is a guide company based in the UK. This strategy guide is for Dragon Quest VIII: The Journey of the Cursed King. However, due to the fact that Dragon Quest VIII is the first game to appear in Europe, it goes simply by the name "Dragon Quest". This guide is, however, for Dragon Quest VIII: The Journey of the cursed King.
Dragon Quest is a giant game. No matter how you look at it. The only way you'll be able to conquer the game and find every amazing secret is by investing your time in this guide. Piggyback hasn't just contruscted a guide, they've given you a friend. Here you'll find secrets that cannot be found in any other guide. Tips that work without flaw. This is how you master a game, by investing in a Piggyback strategy guide.
If you purchased BradyGAMES guide to Dragon Quest you'll note that the guide had a lot of information missing. To the point where it was almost entirely useless. Piggyback's guide, however, is a fantastic one with tons of information and even covers severals secrets and optional bosses that the BradyGAMES guide doesn't even hint exists!
The book is divided into sections. The "How to Play" chapter is exactly what it says. It's very concise and to the point. New to the world of Dragon Quest? Then this is exactly where you should begin with this guide. However, this isn't just a guide for the beginner. Piggyback has also considered if you're an expert of the game. Therefore, even pro gamers can find some useful tips they may not have known before in the "How to Play" section.
Afterwards, the guide moves on into the characters section. Here, you get a run down of all the characters skills, spells, and weapons. Each character is also presented with an experience chart. In this chart you'll be able to see what each characters stats will look like at each and every level. The staff also provides fantastic tips on just which skills you should concentrate on, and why you should concentrate on them. You'll feel nearly invincible using this guide.
The items list is also extremely detailed. For each item you don't just get the basics, but also what it takes to make it, and what recipes you can use it in. In addition, for the weapons and armor sections you'll be able to tell which characters can equip what items. Afterwards, there is an exhaustive recipe list for the alchemy pot. Every single recipe is listed in this guide.
Each monster in the monsters section is detailed with all the stats that are important. Each monster has its stats detailed. HP, MP, attack, defense etc. In addition, you'll learn the habitat which this monster roams, special attacks they use, and (most important) the rewards for defeating these creatures along with the chances of them dropping these items.
By far the best part of the guide is the walkthrough itself. Each section is littered with 3D maps (and 2D for towns, which really helps as well). These maps are populated with item locations, and preferred routes. The walkthrough is brutally detailed. You won't miss a single item. You'll find every infamous monster. You'll defeat every boss in your path. All this is done without spoiling any aspect of the game whatsoever. So even those who are afraid of a guide spoiling the surprises will be quite surprised. For example, the guide doesn't show you screenshots of the bosses to keep your surprised. Dragon Quest is a fabulous game, and Piggyback knew it. This walkthrough is spoiler-free. Even better, the guide reads well with the respective screenshots. In several guides you've got to interpret which screenshot goes with what text. Piggyback gets rid of that. Their screenshots are labeled with numbers. If you come across something you don't understand, they'll tell you exactly which screenshot you should look at. And it helps.
Perhaps the biggest reason to invest in this guide is for their secrets. Every little secret is explored in this guide. About halfway through the secrets section you'll come across a Top Secret section that is sealed. This section is specifically made for those who have completed the game. The guide even tells you so. Here you'll find the most lucrative secrets of any Square-Enix game. There are minor spoilers in this section, but you were warned before you ventured into it. Still, as a whole, this is the only way to master all that Dragon Quest has to offer.
As if Piggyback wasn't kind enough already. With a guide so big, so exhaustive, and full of such fantastic advice, you might find yourself lost. Luckily there's an index. Navigating a strategy guide has never been easier.
If you want to master Dragon Quest and learn everything the game has to offer, then you owe it to yourself to buy this guide. If not for the walkthrough, do it for the secrets. Piggyback hasn't just given you a strategy guide; they've given you a friend. One who is willing to tell you all the secrets of Dragon Quest without spoiling the game for you. By far one of the best strategy guides ever written.

5 comments about Pokemon Crystal: Prima's Official Strategy Guide.
- This guide is good. but not too much. It didn't give me much help on the unown puzzle. I recommend you buy this game guide if you really want it, or get the versus book or the nintend guide.
- this is one of the best things that happened to me i tried codes but they were so hard to do.after i get this, you will to! i tellin ya.it doesnt help on unowns or battle tower though
- This guide helped me BUNCHES with my Crystal Version. This has;
A calender of events A walkthrough A breeding section A pokedex guide to 251 pokemon (missing out Celebi) It is VERY GOOD. ^_^
- Game guides for the Pokemon series like these are usually for casual players, or used by serious players mainly for the maps. There are a number of online, in-depth FAQ's on sites like gamefaqs.com which cover strategy that printed guides cannot. Prima's guide is certianly eye-candy when compared to the text file FAQ's found online. The maps are large and useful (by contrast, their Ruby/Sapphire guide has smaller maps which are harder to read for some locations.) However, there are shortcomings. It's ordered by area, so there are times when you must flip back through the book (after Team Rocket moves from Mahogany to Goldenrod, for example.) The Battle Tower is barely mentioned, the Pokedex only lists level-up moves for Pokemon (not TM or egg moves), and team rosters are only supplied for major opponents. It does have a very good breeding section and a listing of items. I recommend Prima's guide for the player who needs good maps, or who would like help getting through the game without spoilers for everything.
- I waited about two weeks for my new book but received an old book with alot of rips marks tears!and I contacted you to see is there anyway you can solve it,but you never replied.bad seller,is that ture?

4 comments about MechWarrior: Technology of Destruction (Mechwarrior).
- This is, by far, the best BattleTech universe book I've ever read. It has great background on the Classic BattleTech universe and the MechWarrior: Dark Age universe. It also has some great computer-generated images of the new (and old) 'Mechs, vehicles, power armor, and infantry. A must for any BattleTech or MechWarrior fan.
- This book truly lives up to its name. You basically have a collection of data on most every category of mech, infantry unit and vehicles in the Mechwarrior: DA universe. The book is primarily an eye-candy book for those Mechwarrior fans who can't get enough. The short story (involving Tamara Duke of the Stormhammer faction and Thos Cardella) is an excellent read which serves to tantalize those who have been reading the DA novels. Astute MW clixers will note that Duke and Cardella were the prizes for the DFA marquee.
A must have for avid Mechwarrior collectors. Others should be able to live without it.
- Just for the pictures, if you are a battletech fan youll love this book, battle armor to vtols to trike squads in computer drawings- really cool. it also shows pictures of the board game which i dont play put they still ook cool. the sizing chart is kind of funny and it seems like they though it togethe rin 5 minutes, like mech cougars are as big as assault mech atlases and medium legionairres are bigger than both. I wondered why they barely mentioned aero space fighters and had no pictures of them?? awesome graphics and a good 3 or 4 page short dark age story about stormhammers thrown in but dont use it as a real reference for anything
- I was told about this book by a friend, a fellow BattleTech fan. I saw it here online and decided to purchase it. While it wasn't wholly a waste of money, I was disappointed that I didn't look into the details of the book carefully enough.
While having some information about the Classic BattleTech universe that FASA created, the book is mostly about the WizKids version. I don't care for Dark Ages; I've always been perfectly happy with the classic BattleTech, and Dark Ages to me feels like a shift from gritty sci-fi to anime. Many of the faction logos look like low-budget designs that someone pounded out in a weekend, not the elegant ones from the Classic BattleTech series. Many of the 'Mechs are just cheap, lazy redesigns of Classic BattleTech 'Mechs with creative names like "Mad Cat III" or "Mongoose II," and I was surprised to learn that the Atlas now has horns growing out of it's mouth, and a glass-topped head. The Summoner (aka Thor) is even worse, as apparently now the cockpit is a soup can, and the shoulder-mounted missile pack is larger than the torso. The images in this book are a mixed blessing. There are some awesome 3D images in it (namely the cockpit view and cutaway images near the center), but fans of Classic BattleTech will likely feel left out. The whole Dark Ages concept feels to me like a colossal raping of everything FASA did. In short: If you're a fan of 3D anime-ish walking robots, or if you like MW: Dark Ages, buy this book. If you're a Classic BattleTech fan and don't fall into the two above categories, don't.
