  1. This Guide can be fun, it's colorful and may help younger players. But I don't think you really need it to enjoy the game. In fact, if you follow it too closely you'll be reading instead of playing. And you could really figure it out yourself. Kids and Adults alike will enjoy this fun game. Good gameplay, pretty good camera work. A fun graphics look. Not too difficult to be fun. And exellent mini-games (which don't usually mean that much to me). But the mini-games Tiki Mini-Golf and Penguin Shuffleboard are lot's of fun and can be enjoyed again & again. There are many fun lands to visit in this game. You can switch between characters for different tasks in different areas. I don't think you really need to know a lot about the movie to enjoy the game, but it couldn't hurt.

  1. this game is overrated and there is to much aimless wandering . the same thing over and over hope they dont make prey 2

  2. PRETTY COOL EXCEPT I HAD TO USE SOME FREEBIE WALKTHRUS THAT EXPLAINED SOME ITEMS BETTER. THE ENEMIES AND WEAPONS,DEATHWALK AND HINTS AND TIPS WERE HELPFUL.BUT THE BEST PART WAS THE BRADY GAMES WEBSITE AND THE "HOW TO DEFEAT BOSSES" CLIPS.. COOL TRAILERS AND USEFUL BUT I'LL NEVER MOVE THAT FAST!!! AFTER ALL I PLAY THIS WITH MY GRANDSON!!

5 comments about Pokemon Trading Card Game Player's Guide (Pokemon Trading Card Game Player's Guides).
  1. If you play Pokemon, like Pokemon, and most especially, if you want to be good at Pokemon, this IS the book for you.

No book on Pokemon better covers the strategies and details the techniques needed to win the Pokemon TCG (Trading Card Game) better than this one. Author Brian Brokaw offers highly useful insight into every aspect of the game, from Synergy to disruption techniques, plus three tournament-winning deck designs you can look at to see what a winning deck should be! I cannot tell you how much this book will change your game for the better. I read this book for the first time about four months ago and since then I have won six local Pokemon tournaments. You'll be amazed at what perspective somebody else can offer.

Does every card in your deck help you win the game? It can, and Mr. Brokaw will be happy to show you how.

While this book mainly covers the Pokemon TCG, there are other sections on merchandise, Pokemon Snap for N64, Japanese Pokemon games, Mall Tours and more, including a section on the individual Pokemon and trainer cards, along with strategy tips and helpful rules clarifications for each one (a VERY helpful section, especially for the beginning player).

The verdict: whether you are a beginning player with 10 cards to your name or a multi-talented master of the Pokemon world, this book is bound to help you to see new ways to improve your decks and your game like you never thought possible.

  2. I got this book for Christmas because my decks really blew andI wanted a handy spoiler list. This book has just an awesome deckbuilding section! It goes through every component of building a dreamdeck. The spoilers have a graphic for every card, and you can clearly read the card text. It also has a few archetypes, such as Haymaker, Rain Dance, etc. The biggest bonus was the Pokemon Snap guide, it helped me beat it! I would've liked maybe a few more archetypes and maybe card ratings, but hey, it's still a great book!

  3. This book not only gives you helpful advice on building a deck , it gives individual strategy on each card in the Base Set and Jungle sets . ( If it were a little more updated , it would be a must-have)DON'T WAIT! GET IT NOW!

  4. This book is great because I belong to the Pokemon Trading Card Game League and it gave me tips on how to improve my deck and to improve my skill in dueling Pokemon Cards. This book also said... wait I can't tell you what else it said because then I would be ruining for other people so I will say nothing else then to buy this book for yourself and read its good tips

  5. buy now! even if you are new to pokemon this will tell you all about the pokemon tcg. 5 comments about Legend of Mana Official Strategy Guide (Official Guide).
  1. Okay, let me start off by saying I have beaten Legend of Mana, and used this exact guide.

The guide gives great walkthroughs, nice pictures, cool intro with characters and battle tips explained. Tells you how to do all the events, and has them mapped out in the game perfectly where you don't have to be flipping from one page to another ( which is difficult to do b/c LoM is a non-linear game big time ). Overall I was very satisfied, the only complaint, however, is that the items list in the back of the book is useless, it doesn't even tell you what the stuff does...but if you can see past that little flaw, this is an excelent guide. Would recomend.

  2. This guide is good a helping you complete all of the events in a good order, and the flowchart in the front of the book helps out simetimes. On the other hand, the flowchart is flawed and sometimes doesn't work, and some of the events are out of order (one event concerning Daena is placed in the middle of the book, whereas, it should be in the front, which is the only ime in the game that you can complete the event). Although the guide states that there is an ability list, there isn't one at all. If you're not trying to master this game, I suggest you buy this guide. If you're looking to find everything, find a walkthrough at GameFAQs or something.

  3. If you want a step by step describtion of every event in the game get this guide. If you want to raise monsters, seeds, golems, etc. then don't. The guide only goes over the events in the game and touches on the other stuff only briefly. The other problem is that the guide has you get the final artifact right in the beginning of its chapter 4, this leaves about 35-40 even events to do before it goes over it. I don't know any gamer that would be able to complete the game knowing very well that they could just lay down the Sword of Mana and win the game. The guide was very poorly set up and should have been planned to ensure that the player would get through more than 90% of the game before they could initiate the end game sequence. Don't buy it if you don't have to.

  4. If you are absolutely desperate for a guide and totally lost...go online and find a nice FAQ or walkthrough. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS unless you have no access to the Internet and have money to waste. The walkthrough is very inaccurate, there is NO ABILITIES SECTION, the last third of the book dealing with "information" is useless. It glosses over a great deal of information, and the rest is not mentioned at all. Really, if you're going to buy a guide, buy the Japanese version. It's 20$ more and all, but even if you can't read it at least it has nice pictures, you could probably figure most of it out from them alone.

  5. Legend of Mana is ancient in the game world by now, but just in case, I offer this warning: THIS GUIDE IS A JOKE.

The maps are chaotic at best, the events poorly explained, and much of the information is downright wrong. It's as if the authors got bored halfway through the book and just filled in the blanks randomly. For instance: "Fights: none. When you leave, you will fight Niccolo."

Run, don't walk, to GameFAQS for help on this game.

4 comments about .hack Part 4: Quarantine Official Strategy Guide.
  1. Being a big fan of the .hack games, and wanting to make sure I got everything, I bought the guide. While the walkthrough is superb, and information pretty decent, there are a few flaws that bring down the book.
There are quite a few typos and misspellings throughout the guide, and I found a few pages were information wasn't all correct. Also, this guide only covers aspects from this game, so if you need detailed information for Grunty Races, Bestiary, etc for other games, you'll probably end up getting the other guide.
Probably the biggest flaw is the E-mail combos. They are correct, but Elk and Mia's combos are missing. In addition to the combos for all of the extra characters that you earn after beating the game. There is also errors with the new Grunties, as they misplaced information on one of them.
Despite the fact that you'll have to go online to look up some information, the guide is still worth the buy. It is still useful and informative. And it certainly helped me when I played through the game.

  2. This isn't the first time, and I doubt it will be the last, where I point out that an excellent strategy guide is wasted on the game. In this case it depends on whether you entered the series at Part 4, or if you have been playing all along and started right out with a very high or maxxed out level. For high ranking characters, .hack//QUARANTINE is something of a cakewalk and play will be pretty linear. In that case, the guide will help you find some of the secrets, but there is nothing difficult enough to merit the guide's blow by blow support.

If you are new to the game the reverse is true. Each time you play the main story line you are going to find yourself facing some pretty fierce opposition. In this case, the guide is a game-saver. There arfe maps, combatant suggestions, and very detailed discussions of each of the bosses. And some other valuable tidbits as well. In this case the guide is well worth the price.

This guide is in exactly the same format as the previous guides in this series. Well made and illustrated, it will stand up to the frantic pawing which is the usual approach when you are in the middle of battle and out of your depth. It won't make the struggle any easier, but you will at least understand why you are getting pummeled. There are a couple of errors, but nothing that will interfere your progress.

  3. All the .hack games are short -- very short. So why get the strategy guide? Because "The World", where most of the plot in the game comes from, is vast. So vast that a strategy guide 4 time this size might be able to hold all the maps, items and everything. So why is it missing so much? Because it focuses on only the plot related zones and boasts that it has a "secret" zone. The fact is the combination of servers and keywords is unfathomable! And after the end of the game, every last one should be available. You might as the question, why would I want to go back to level 3 zones? Well, for completionists, that is very important because the Ryu Books of 1000 log so very much, and most importantly, how many zones you have completed (unlocked all the monster portals).

Perhaps I have just been spoiled by books like Star Ocean's strategy guide, but I find this guide to be a joke, because much more "complete" information about .hack is available online for FREE!

  4. Another really awesome game!!! I love how the whole thing works and just everything about it. The guide has its idiosyncrasies. ^_^;;; However, its great to have around! I know I would be lost without it. ^_^

  1. The back says "In-depth walkthroughs of every quest", but a quick examination reveals that they don't even include information on where to find a couple of the class promotion quests, which are very important. Also, they've organized everything around the regions instead of around the quests, which makes it difficult to find the info you want without accidentally seeing stuff about quests that happen in the same region, but much later in the game.

It's an OK book, and does cover the things that are likely to have you stuck, but the MM6 book was superior in many ways.

  2. This book spends a lot of pages on non-important data, as introduction of every monster and weapon and numerous useful or useless items. However, the most important part, the DETAIL MAP OF EVERY REGION and CAREFULLY ORGANIZED WALKTHROUGH are very, very disappointing. Especially the survey map of every region, it's so slipshod! It uses only one hint to indicate a lot of regions and many houses, so a player get nothing and he MUST continuously play his trial-and-error game to find a special house. The survey maps are so small that you recognize almost nothing. Besides, how can a player use fast key? how to learn magic more fastly? How does a player know this item will be useful, or totally useless so he can sell it out immediately? These are the most crucial points a player wants to know in a RPG game. And although you can find the answer in this book ,but it takes a long time to find where these informations are! . I am for a long time a M&M fan, but I must say that I feel very disappointed at this book.

  3. The Maps are to small and poorly organized

  4. I'd give it first-worst but frankly it does not deserve first-anything. It IS essential, if only because the manual is so deficient, but that's the best I can say. I've spent almost as much time searching through the guide as I have playing the game. Surely Prima can do better than this.

  5. I would have never gotten as far as I did without this guide. Very detailed and easy to read. Gives you just about every bit of information you could possibly imagine on the game. Reccomend for anyone who is having trouble or that just wants to move a little quicker.

  1. Like VERSUS BOOKS this guide needs to be given 4.5 stars. The guide has its hits and misses. The guide has a detailed walkthrough with great maps and screens, but what is misses in is the walkthrough somewhat.

The Walkthrough is good and the maps were detailed, but to be truthful the maps have all these symbols there that they cover up so much stuff. This can make it hard to navigate sometimes. Hidden Chest are all located, and ALL levels are explained in great detail.

Nice history and interviews behind Maximo, but this guide also misses a bit in the secrets. The secret level is detaled but its more like a take out poster that could've been in the walkthrough.

The guide actually tells you how much items cost. The bestiary before certain worlds was also very nice, but leaves a lot of page flipping.

    OVERALL:Positive:
    +Good maps and boss strategies
    +Great detail and item descriptions
+More in-depth with enemies than any other guide! A bestiary!
    +History behind Maximo

    +Interviews with the creaters
    +Great Boss strategies

    Negative:
    -A LOT OF PAGE FLIPPING
-Level 31 is like a pull out poster
-Fuzzy Screens and some a little small
    -Not enough on Game Basics

  2. The guide was fine however it took six weeks before it arrived. The seller only replied to one of three E-Mails. I would not/will not buy again from this seller.

1 comments about Tycoon City: New York (Prima Official Game Guide).
  1. Let me start off by saying that you don't actually need a strategy guide to complete Tycoon City: New York. The game basically plays itself, and you'd have more problems with technical issues (eg, crashes) than actually not being able to complete mission objectives. Which makes this book kinda redundant, basically.

Nevertheless, this guide still serves well as a secondary resource, especially if you're looking for a complete list of buildings that you can build in the game. Take note, however, that there're some variances between what was written in the book and the game. The Loews Cineplex, for example, is simply called the Movie Cineplex in the guide, so you may find yourself slightly confused if you use it extensively.

This book also covers all the opportunities, which is what you'd expect for an official guide. Unfortunately, the coverage on the prize opportunities is a little weak, often ignoring the details, and at times, listing the wrong rewards for them. The book also mentions that completing opportunities is compulsory for unlocking new districts in the game, but that statement is erroneous as well, since the key to unlocking new districts is basically to build up to a certain percentage of an area.

On the whole, this is an ok effort for a reference book, even though it's a little mundane.
