  1. I was very pleased with the speed in which my game guides came in. They were perfect when they arrived and I was very excited to start using them.

  2. This strategy Guide is very very resourceful full of information and its awesome! Tells you where everything is and how to get there. If you wanna complete the game with 100% this strategy guide book is here for you!

  3. My purchasing experience was excellent and my daughter was very impressed with this item as a gift. It was received timely and in excellent condition.

  4. Nearly all the way through the game and a 100% completion in one run. Without a guide like this I don't see how anyone could get 100% even after several times through the game.

  5. The shipping was fast and the product arrived in lovely condition. However the book itself was poorly written, and if you're buying this I STRONGLY recommend reading the mini games section first as the only way to see the entire ending of the game is if you complete some of these things, a fact which is not mentioned until well AFTER you're 1/4 of the way through the book itself. I was very satisfied with the purchase, but as most of you know FF isn't a short wham-bam game and it was horribly disappointing that after getting 15-16 hours in we realized we'd be watching the end of the game on youtube anyways =p Also, there were still parts that were explained in such uncertain terms we ended up using the internet to find the answers anyways. A die hard FF fan....I was extremely disappointed in Dan Birlew's product this time.

  1. This book offers sound advice on almost all aspects of Second Life from social interaction to scripting, building, and texturing. It goes into fine detail on the workings of the user interface with great time saving tips and tricks for all levels of experience. It's by no means a dry technical read. The author does a good job of tying all of the topics together through examples of practical experience within Second Life.

I keep this book on my computer desk for quick reference. As an experienced user with a bloated inventory I found the topics on asset backup, inventory searches, and inventory organization extremely helpful.

  2. This is the most up-to-date and comprehensive guide to SL that you'll find -- no need to look any further. It includes general information about how to get started in SL, what to do and where to go -- and it also contains easy to follow, step-by-step information about the things you are likely to be doing there: building, shopping, meeting people. Handy quick keyboard guide inside the cover that will be useful to both new users and seasoned veterans!

  3. I actually created a second life account and canceled it because of the frustration of not nowing how to navigate through the environment. This books is the most awesome ever for SL and how to navigate through the environment. It includes a lot of shortcut keys and scripting to further advance your knowleddge in the Second Life Environment. This book is highly recommended for those that have no idea of how to navigate the platform and would like to learn how to use the grid, create skin, camera moves, buying land, buying shapes, creating textures etc. This books discusses everything you want to know, desire to learn and more!

  1. Very helpful product, especially for a new player like me. In fact, I would say it is essential. The strategies and intel information are as good or better than those available online, yet are handy in nice, glossy paper content whenever you need the information. Screenshots are plentiful.

My major criticism is that the book focuses on online multiplayer action, so not as helpful to a single player like I am.

I would like to see more details on the game basics, such as on weapons (caliber, magazine capacity, stopping power, range, etc.), and strategies for why you would choose one weapon vs. another (there is some of this, but I would like more).

That said, it is very highly recommended for every player, and a must have at around $15, or less.

  2. I asked a buddy whether he liked Oblivion more that Final Fantasy VII. He was dumbfounded and was about to suggest something, and then I cut in.

"It's like asking which I like better, Call of Duty 4 or Tetris. I can do that. I like Call of Duty 4 better."

  3. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Official Strategy Guide.
the guide is up to date and very helpful.

  4. Simply put, this guide is really low on information.

The single player info is pretty sparse and the multiplayer info is just not that useful.

  5. Pulled my time in Somalia a while back. It feels like real combat having to make quick decisions, while being in a confusing situation. Started having PTSD all over again (LOL).
Really I am 43 years old and definitely not any kind of gamer, but it was easy to pick up. I bought the strategy book and that helped me a lot.
    Well worth the money !!!

  1. This guide is good because it tells you how to do things. It has great maps and tells you where to get items. It gives great tips to get legends. Good PokeDex which people always complain. It really helps you find the Pokemon. BUY THIS!!!!!!!

  2. Like most Prima Game Guides this guide is packed with hints tips and Walk through. Great guide if you love these games! :)

  3. Let me just say that I loved Prima's Ruby and Sapphire guide but this guide is such a let down I can't believe I wasted my money on it. Most if not all of the maps are from Ruby and Sapphire (I compared). It doesn't give you much information either. Everything is crammed together and the things that you have to go back and do later blend into everything else so you forget to go do something after you've completed a certain task. This guide didn't help me at all. The extra information you buy guides for just wasn't there and I honestly could have just used my Ruby and Sapphire guide and it would have helped me MORE. Buy at your own risk or if you're not that interested in the game and don't care about quality.

  4. This book is nearly useless. Instead of providing a walkthrough, where one typically can follow the steps and progress through the game, the editor chose to sort by location. This means that when you look up Meteor Falls you see something you may be able to do now as well as what you'll need to do in the same location later in the game. To make matters worse there is no distinction made between the two events so it's difficult to know if the later events are able to be done now, or if it's something you'll have to come back for.

The only real reason to pick this up is for the Pokédmon listing that corresponds to this specific game, in other games Pokémon acquire abilities at different levels

  5. Book came in very good condition. It has all the information my son need for his games.

  1. This book is honestly an answer to my prayers! I'm using the first half of this superb book to remodel my introductory game design class & after school game design club. The included exercises are definitely geared toward capturing the attention of the type of kids I want to attract to my program. I think I'm going to have to buy a 2nd book as my son is using the last half of the book to develop and market his senior game project and plan for his Indie game company :)

  2. This is an amazing game design book. Trust me, I should know. I've been
playing vids since I was in junior high and my brother-in-law works for a major game publisher, and he brings home every new title there is, so I've played them all but never quite grasped the process of making a game of my own. Game Design Workshop takes you step-by-step through the process. After reading just the first few chapters, I actually could grasp the mechanics necessary for constructing a video game.

Unlike other books that focus on genres of games, this book gives you the
building blocks and its lessons teach you how to use them. It also has some really valuable interviews with top designers, and from those alone you can learn a lot. I cannot recommend this enough. 5 stars, at least!

  1. There are some good tips and advice in the pages of this guide for legendary which I beat, but I was disappointed that they did not show the location of the skulls. It is fun to read through the guide to find some interesting advice. Its worth buying for this price. Enjoy

  2. This is very helpful for game play.I would greatly encourage the xbox live gamer to get it because it tells the respawn times for the weapons on each multiplayer map.

  3. I am not a "gamer" This was a purchase for my grandson at christmas. I am able to relate to his delight. Further, I feel that as intense as this game is the guide book was a good thing to include with the X-box and Halo game.Jamie says it is "way cool" with real great tips and tricks. I bet that you did not think that it was possible to get a big old bear hug from a 13 year old boy in front of his friends.

  4. i just bought this iteam.i love halo...i also just orderd halo3 ...i was wondering what is the content of the guid...help would be great

  5. This book is not recommended to those who want to play Halo 3 without any know how on how to play but it is a very very good book to those that are struggling on Legendary difficulty or that you might just want to know some ways to do the levels as quickly as possible. Note: Sometimes some pages might fall off though.

5 comments about CRISIS CORE -FINAL FANTASY VII- Signature Series Guide (Bradygames Signature Series Guides) (Bradygames Signature Series Guides).
  1. When looking for a guide you look for a few things:
    1. Be able to find things that you may miss if you don't look everywhere closely
    2. Help you get through the game quicker
    3. Help you achieve 100% on everything
    4. Good tidbits that helps you play better and enjoy it more so you don't have to keep restarting from game overs

Well this guide has all of those. The guide helps with all the missions, and gives insight to the game. Much recommended

  2. I played the game all the way through 2 times before I got the guide. I was glad I did because it explained how to unlock missions that I couldn't figure how to get unlocked. I shows where all the Items are during the mission... Which is a big help not to waist time running where you don't need to go. There we're a few mix-ups in the mission parts, like where there are barriers that wern't marked and some that were marked that wasn't blocked.

My first guide that was shipped from amazon was damaged but not during shipping. I contacted amazon about this and they had a replacement out in no time free of charge. Great service... Great guide... AWESOME GAME!

  3. I bought this guide expecting nothing more than info. But, alas, the guide is a PIECE OF ART itself. It has every detail of the game pretty neat presented and even has a art gallery, a poster, and so on. Eye candy I must say.

  4. There are two main things that determine if I'll buy a strategy guide: Do I care about the game enough to go for 100% completion on everything, and would it be easier for me to achieve that if I'm looking at one book rather than clicking around between four different guides online? My other concern is, if the book isn't helpful, will I at least get lots of pretty pictures of my favorite characters? The Bradygames Guide's touted poster and Art Gallery section were definitely factors in my decision to buy.

If you're going for 100%, this guide will get you there, but I gave it a modest rating because I found the information poorly organized. As I was mid-way through my second play-through when I got this Guide, I've only used the walk-through for the end-game, and I found myself flipping pages more than I should have to. The Bestiary section is neither alphabetized nor indexed, instead enemies highlighted in the walk-through are listed with the page number they appear on in the Bestiary. So far I've found the sections dealing with Accessories, Shops, and Fusion Items comprehensive. The Materia section is also good at detailing how and or/where to get specific Materia. The leveling up section left one of my questions unanswered though, and that is HOW to level up Materia. Their explanation would have you think it's completely random, whereas my experience is that the more you use a particular materia, the more likely it is to gain a level. Since there's an invisible Experience point counter for Zack, I assume there is also one for Materia.

The Missions section is very good, giving all the necessary information. Unfortunately, I have found one annoying mistake in this part (a mistake repeated elsewhere in the Guide when referring to this), and that is that it incorrectly gives Fire as the second spell you need to cast on the Magic Pot in Mission 10-2-3. (It should be Fira.) Otherwise what I've read of this section seems great.

On the "pretty pictures" front, Nomura's illustration of the cast (not the one seen in the game's save screen) alone made the book worth it. There are also beautiful high quality CG renderings of the characters scattered throughout. However, the poster was disappointing: as the reverse is the Materia Fusion chart, the need for a long composition gets us a picture of Zack looking over his shoulder, the Buster Sword being the focus. The Art Gallery likewise was anticlimactic; space devoted to NPC's and gadgets could have been put to better use, and should have avoided inclusion of production art of settings already placed elsewhere in the Guide.

Lastly, me being the huge FFVII geek that I am, I was perhaps more disappointed than newcomers to the world of FFVII by inaccuracies in the Characters section. The biggest of these was that it says Tifa met Cloud during the events of Crisis Core; even if you haven't played the original FFVII, events later on in CC let you know this is not the case. That this assumption is restated elsewhere in the Guide makes me wonder if the writers truly are the "fans" they profess to be in the Introduction, and about the accuracy of info relating to characters who debut in this game.

Long story short, if you like playing with a book to guide you, go ahead and get this if these deficiencies don't override that desire.

  5. Meh...

That pretty much describes my attitude towards this game. I have been a big fan of the Final Fantasy series, but Crisis Core just felt tedious and was not challenging (even on hard). It will give you some nifty background on the FFVII world, but has zero replay value. If you find yourself desperate for some FF action check out War of the Lions first and if still hasn't come out yet, and you are still desperate, check out this.

3 comments about Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Atlas: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides).
  1. Not much good to say about this. The pages are quite dark and difficult to read and to make matters worse the text is really tiny. They have added in some key locations to the map that will be useful but not worth this price. Don't bother with this. In a matter of a week or so much better and clearer information will be available on the web.

Prima stop putting out sub-par game books and get with the program. I would have loved to have a good game atlas : (

  2. While the Guide is useless, the Atlas is just 'mostly' useless. There is a little real information on the maps, some of the most important information is missing. One of the poorer efforts from Prima; rushed to get it out at game release, I suspect. Not recommended.

  3. I bought this knowing that it would be out of date before the game launch. Prima has been pretty good in the past about updates. It would appear they fired all the people responsible for keeping their customers happy. Missing and false/misleading information, and no way to find any updates on their page, if they exist.
