1. If you or someone you know likes BattleBots, Robotica, or Robot Wars, this is a great book. It has tons of high quality still and action photos. It also has great descriptions and pictures of famous bots and bio's of their builders. Find out how much your favorite BattleBot cost or how long it took to build! The book also has basic instructions on how to build a bot plus simple examples of different design types. It also has the Win-Loss record plus stats (like # of Knock-outs) for every bot. This book has something for everyone. It has enough "meat" to it that die-hard fans will love it and the photos and stats will keep even young kids engaged.



2. Great book! The history and the personalities behind Battlebots are really interesting. The machines are given the level of attention you always wanted to get on the show. Great looking too. Put it on you coffee table; guests will actually pick it up (and spend half an hour with it!).



3. This glossy coffee table book is packed with photos, robot CAD drawings and a thorough history of the BattleBots competition. The abundant photos, in depth builder and robot profiles and stylized design caputres the real spirit of BattleBots. I love the chapter on "How to Build a Bot"- the step by step tutorial and comparison of materials provides solid advice to newbie builders like me. It is the best book on robotic combat I have ever seen. A must for all robot enthusiasts.



4. Fun book, lots of great pix, and a spread on my favorite robot: Dr. Inferno, Jr. What's not to love?



5. I've really been enjoying this book, ten minutes at a time. It explains the rules (I'm not sure I had realized there were any)behind the action, and includes capsule looks at number of bots I've seen locked in the box. The author talks about the costs of some bots, the time involved in designing them, and the number of upgrades they've gone through. I suggest this book for any fan of the TV show or the sport.

1. This guide was just a perfect tool to beat Quake II for me. It reminds me so much of the Doom II Guide by Prima ; a lot of helpful strategy with a sense of Marine humor. I probably wouldn't have beaten the game without it. The add-on disk was awesome!

1. I received the book I bought quickly. The book really helped my husband get over a really hard part of Tak. I will be buying him the second book for Christmas. It was inexpensive and again it came rather quickly.

1. Make no bones about it Prima's strategy guide for Grim Fandango written by Jo Ashburn proved to be the ideal solution for this almost (but not quite) lazy gamer! I love long, involved and challenging games but I hate getting stuck for too long and here is a guide that gives as much (or as little help) as required. The system of tiered answer that become more specific the stupider you are (and I can be very stupid sometimes!) is not a new idea but the way these clues and hints are set out is truly excellent. They give you enough information to avoid frustration whilst retaining the game's essential challenge. Here is a strategy guide that has been produced by someone who obviously loves the game and it is beautifully crafted. It also contains a narrative account of Manny's exploits in the Land of the Dead, some full colour design sketches and the diary of Grim Fandango's creator Tim Schafer. It truly enhanced my enjoyment of a wonderful game which is the best compliment I can give to the author.



2. When I first got this game, I was really stuck.When I got the game- guide I succesfully beat the game.

The game's great and this helpful strategy guide only enhances the enjoyment of your trip to the 9th Underworld ... the only thing I'm going to hate is the end of the line ... but next time I'm going to try to play WITHOUT the guide, and see how much I remember from my first trip! The game and its guide are a must for anyone - even someone who's not particularly into computer games, like myself. Bravo! (PS - Any you guys out there anything like Manny????)



4. I didnt like the walkthrough, or the game. It didnt make n e sense. therefore , it only gets 1 star.

It has both progressive hints (with the real spoilers upside-down, no less) and a walkthrough written in a sort of short story format, and some nice samples of storyboard art and cool stuff like that. Even the brief character sketches are amusing -- most of them contain puns that you understand after you've played the game.

   My only complaint was that the game itself had a few really weird and arbitrary puzzles. I loved the look, and the characters, and the cut scenes, but I don't see how you could possibly solve the game without either the hints, or randomly trying every permutation of actions.

1. Great game. I had a blast playing it. Especially using the cheat modes. I mean how can you not like a half naked vampire, with six sexy outfits and some badass weaponry.



2. This is a great game for gamers that like gory games and jokes that are only funny in the game. BloodRayne 2 is alot better than the first one but to understand the 2nd one you must get the first BloodRayne.



3. Strategy Guide arrived in excellent quality and condition. Strategy Guide arrived in a very timely fashion.



4. I was stuck and now with the help of Amazon.com I've put a stake in my troubles with the game!!

2 comments about Mechwarriors Guide to the Clans.

1. This field manual is much like the Comstar one. It tries to cover too many different nations, and as a consequence, feels lacking after you are finished reading it. On the other hand, it provides decent updates of every major periphery nation and excellent information on their armed forces. Also, the manual is written from the point of view of the Word of Blake overall, but incudes sections by the periphery powers themselves, creating an interesting set of viewpoints to compare in the book. As far as new 'mechs and equipment go, the manual has logical developements, but that still didn't hide my disappointment that nothing cooler was coming out of the periphery (I always like to root for the underdogs, especially the Outworlds Alliance). Overall, though, I think that this is a solid book, with regard to its information on periphery leaders and personages, and on periphery militaries (including pirates!). Also, for any Mechwarrior players, the manual excels here, providing over ten life paths with their own individual event tables. The only thing I noticed with that was that many of the next path options list a path called Tour of Duty: Periphery, but the manual (disappointingly) has no such path, so I don't know what to make of that. Like all the other FASA manuals that I've seen so far, this one is well written and layed out, but it falls below the excellence of the Lyran and FedSuns manuals, being more like the Comstar book.



2. The descriptive accounts for gamers and battletech universe readers of Clan life, history and most interesting of all characteristics bring to life the Clan way.The background information is formidable.A few of the early clans that were absorbed or lost are missing but overall an excellent read to pick up time after time.
