1 comments about Tiger Woods PGA Tour '07 (Prima Official Game Guide).
- Amazon advertisement for this item is deceiving. I just received the book today and was quite disappointed to read on the cover for Playstation 3 or Xbox 360. Amazon "Better Together" is wrong! Do not buy this book with the Playstation 2 game...it will not benefit you. Now I have to spend additional time, effort and money to return the item.
I have ordered many items from Amazon...this is the first time I feel deceived by their advertisements. I am sending a copy of the screens to Amazon in hopes they will correct their mistake!
Otherwise, I love the Tiger Woods 07 game for Playstation 2. Go Tiger!

5 comments about Battlefield 2 (Prima Official Game Guide).
- Gives great strategy tips on each map, but needs more info on how to operate the different vehicles. Plus changes have been made since the game's inception through the patches. Scoring, game dynamics and rankings are different now. An updated guide with better vehicle training would be great.
- Battlefield 2 is hands down the greatest game I have ever owned. The only thing is that you should heavily consider upgrading to 1 GB RAM on your computer.
The ZBoard gaming keyboard is also a must, so get one set up for Battlefield 2.
- This book explained a lot that the software package didnt. Worth the money.
- This strategy guide is useless to anyone able to search sites made by Battlefield 2 fans. The statistics such as weapon firing rates are outdated because the many patches that have been made for the game have altered numbers for balance reasons. It doesn't even mention over a half dozen of the game's weapons & several vehicles because it was published before either expansion pack was released. Finally, the advice/tips are no better than the stuff you can read for free from player guides throughout fansites.
It's not that anything in this prima guide is bad...it's just not good enough to be worth money.
- I'm seeing comments in some of these reviews about the game being released by Prima. That is not true, EA/DICE released the PC version.
Excellent book, by the way, very detailed.

3 comments about Mortal Kombat 3: Players Guide (Gaming Mastery Ser.).
- first off i liked all of the graphics and pictures in this book. I hate guides that only tell you what to do and leave out a picture (it can make a game more confusing than before). i liked all the fatalities and animalities that they show. And it one of the only sega genesis player guides still on the market. A good buy for anyone i highly recomend it!
- The best part of the book is the retrospective on the evolution to this then current 3rd incarnation. Covers the different versions for the vast array of game systems all MKs were on. You know it is a act of love not pure cash in when Street Fighter and Night Trap (the infamous uber censored "hot" game)are mentioned and given screen shots in the first few pages!
- I've only just got back in to the mortal kombat series after recently buying shaolin monks. After compleing that and remembering all the history there from my childhood, I decided to buy other games in the series. So naturally I went for the all time classic Mortal Kombat 3. Not being much of a pro at mortal kombat and after losing in the game on the 3rd fight (that was my best score d'oh!), I thought it a good idea to opt to buy a strategy book.! This book is fantastic; it has the history of mortal kombat 1 and 2 (incluing special moves, fatatlities, kombos and character bios - what more could you ask for?) It has a great sysytem, in which the author tells you the best way to defeat your opponents using each character (including the hidden cyborg smoke character). It really helped me, even though i'm not what you could consider a kombat pro; I feel much more confident in my tehniques and will endeavour to finally defeat that maniac Shao Kahn mwa ha ha ha!!

5 comments about Shenmue: Prima's Official Strategy Guide.
- This one is one of Prima's top guides. It is very well put together and it did exactly what I buy guides for: To help me when I am really really stuck.
The amount of information in this book really is staggering. There are individual profiles for just about every character in the game, right down to their blood type! But what really makes this guide great is the vast amount of extras! From strategies for the arcade games, to a complete list of the mini-collectibles, this guide is loaded. It also includes a very clever "sealed section" which I greatly appreciated. The bottom line is that if you like Shenmue, this is the ultimate companion
- I've had a lot of issues with Prima not delivering a guide with all the info that it could of had. Prima's guides frequently do not deliver all but the bare essentials and can be poorly put together, but the Shenmue Official Strategy Guide does not follow tradition. From start to finish, the guide is absolutely packed full of information regarding the game and solutions to the many puzzles within it. Full, complete, well designed color pages document each event as it should happen with exact date, time and location, along with full color screen shots. It also includes complete index's of all the bonus items you can collect throughout the game and where to obtain them, as well as a full index of all note-entrys that can be imputted into Ryo's journal. As well, it features complete biographys taken from Shenmue Online, that include virtually every single individual you see in the game, regardless of weither you're ever able to interact with them or not. This is not a guide to pass up, and even if you're not one for cheating, it's virtually impossible to see all there is to see in Shenmue without this kind of a guide. A must have.
- This is a great strategy guidebook for SHENMUE. It really covers a lot of information in the game. I've already played SHENMUE all the way through and I thought i had covered everything in the game. Wrong! There is a lot that I misssed! There were things in the game that you could get that I just didn't know about. For instance you can win a couple of Sega Saturn games as prizes for Ryo's Saturn at his house!
I recommend you to read this book after you've already gone through SHENMUE at least once. You'll be suprised at how much you may have missed. It may even make SHENMUE even more rewarding the second time around. If you loved SHENMUE as much as I did, then this book is a must have!
- this game has a five star graphics, gameplay, and plotline. the graphics are like real people. the fighting scenes are great. in this game you can go to an arcade and play those games!! the plot is great and if fun to go to the city and get info and find all this stuff about the murder of ryo's father's death! this is a must bye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Really good. I bought this after I beat the game. And used it to find all the "Side Events" and extras. Its good for people that want or need help during the game and for people that want to find the extras etc. One cool thing is that in the back you can see ALL the characters in Shenmue and it has a little description on them. So its good. Very good walkthrough book. Definately worth the money.

2 comments about Grand Theft Auto 3 Official Strategy Guide for PC.
- Okay for anyone who thinks I may be writing an overly kind review, refer to the one I wrote for the Strategy guide for the PS2 version of this game! Needless to say I was somewhat underwhelmed by the book written for GTA 3 for the PS2.
HOWEVER!!! Everything that I conplained about and I mean EVERYTHING that was wrong with the PS2 version strategy guide was addressed and fixed in this version. Apparenly the guy who wrote this book played GTA 3 a lot and it showed in the incredibly detailed and powerfully enthusiastic manner in which the book was written. Where one map would have done okay as in the firt book, he gave you several, all with different colors and excellently labeled icons! His depiction of mission levels including the Off Road missions (which by the way were all but completely ignored by his predecessor) were written with precision and step by step, easy to follow directions. One example of the differences in the two books: Hidden packages map: THe first strategy guide for the PS2 gives a map of each island and a little icon corresponding to the package location, and on the adjacent page a shore sentence telling you where each one is. In this new book, there are not only maps and FAR MORE detailed explanations of the packages but little thumbnail screenshots showing EVERY package in it's "in game" location! Talk about going the extra mile!!! While the first attermpt at a strategy guide is more of a glorified hints and tips manual that reads as if it were slapped together after the author went through the game once or twice quickly at most, this book is a bona fide walkthrough of every single facet of the game. Oh and if you are buying GTA 3 on PS2 and not on the PC? BUY THIS GUIDE ANYWAY! Forget the PS2 version's guide, trust me! You just have to get used to the differences in the control scheme is all. But you will thank me for it later on. Hey if you need the control buttons, the game itself comes with a manual! In short, while the PS2 guide did have its very limited usage, it becomes all but completely pointless in light of the bigger, better and far more enlightening strategy Guide that was written for the PC, and again this is true even if you only own the PS2 version and have no intention of buying the PC port of the game!
- I never have the PS2 version of this book, so I can't compare both version. Just wanted to ammend extra to Dr. Paul C. Graviano reviews, and personal point of view as I never seen the PS2 version.
This book is great, however, I still spotted many mistakes that should be fixed. Some of the hidden packages on the map are marked in wrong location. One of them is on the pier, when I went there but couldn't find it, actually it was on the OTHER pier further up. Some of the hidden packages discription & screenshots are misplaced. Don't rely too much or totally on this guide, use your imagination. it will be much more fun. I use this guide to help me to locate hidden packages, rampages location, unique stunts, secrets and path for checkpoint-to-checkpoint missions. Which is very handy as reference. Map arrangement could be improved, I hate to flip for description at the back of the page everytime I needs them. It would be better if the map placed on the left page; description on the right page. However, the paper quality is kind of bad, which can easily peel off. And due to bad maps arrangement, causes too many flipping front and back vice versa, the pages actually peel off from book, and I actually forget about the main portion as I only need the map ;) If you are buying this book, make sure you get it stamped before start reading.

1 comments about Tie Fighter Collector's Cd-ROM: The Official Strategy Guide.
- A great reference to a great game. Rusel Demaria pads out the dry strategy sections with some fan-fiction to flesh out the story. It reminds me of the "choose your own adventure" books from the 1980s, which isn't a bad thing. Without it, this would be a dry tome full of stats and tables, the kind of thing one could print from an online listing.
The only criticism I have is that laying all the code on the table like this takes away a lot of the mystery and fun of the game -- it becomes painfully clear that it's a computer program when you know all the trigger points for the game's events. For the purest experience, use this as a reference if you get stuck, not as a companion piece to every mission, lest you spoil some of the surprises.
