2 comments about Mortal Kombat: Armageddon (Prima Official Game Guide).
- The Armageddon guide may seem intimidating and interesting due to the number of pages it's toting - but do not be fooled.
I had the chance to check this guide out at a local Walmart and after looking through the information - I couldn't buy it. Now, before you question me - I have been an MK fan since MKI, and the recent streaming of guides has been horrible. From bad to worse, and this one takes the cake.
In the middle of the information, the authors decide to randomly throw in UMK3 strategies. This is an MKA guide, not UMK3. It completely throws off the flow of information the guide gives. This however, is not the worst of it.
The Deception guide at least featured all of the character renders, aside from Liu Kang. This guide does not. You'd think with the page count, new renders and the character's accurate story would greet you - however, it doesn't. There are some renders for characters - again, some. However, it's reused from Mortal Kombat Deception, and Shaolin Monks.
There are little to no screen shots, no pictures of the fatalities, there's no mention of the Vault, and the guide's overall composition is horrible. If you bought the Deception guide and knew why it was so horrible, get ready for another horrible guide.
Do not buy this Guide. Your best bet is to contact their customer Service and tell them to just recall it and do it over - much like Brady did with their MKD guide and released a special Code Book.
One Star.
- This book was nice. It had a comprehensive walkthrough of the Konquest Mode and had tips for Motor Kombat. It had maps of every fighting stage in the game and explained all the death traps in each very thoroughly. It talked about Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 because the Armageddon premium edition lets you play that game as one of its special features. This book has an unlocking guide and complete move lists. Some of the pictures of moves are flip flopped around but that was the only thing. About renders, does a book really need good renders to be good? Overall, the book really halped me because it pinpointed all the best combos for every character in the game giving you a percentage of health that it takes. This is an excellent resource!

3 comments about Official Nintendo The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Player's Strategy Guide.
- I've liked Nintendo guides because they seem to have good insight and great mapmakers. The downside is they sometimes rely a little too heavy on the maps. Yet overall a great guide.
Pros
+Very colorful
+Great Maps
+No spoilers
+Concise the dungeon walkthrough, it is easy to follow you just navigate from number to number on the map and then read the paragraph it correlates to.
+Tells you all the movements for Link
+List all the items and which mask's can use them
+Gives you hints on how to survive
+Good fairy guide with screenshots
+Side quests are incorporated right into the walkthrough.
+Bomber notebook guide (includes a graph of the times available, list of the requirements and rewards, and a walkthrough with screenshots)
+Masks Guide (Tells who to get it from and were they are, also a walkthrough with screenshots)
+Pieces of Heart Guide (A screen shot and paragraph on how to get it)
+Bottles and Upgrade Guide (Paragraph with screenshots on how to get the bottles and upgrades)
+Majora's Mysteries, which is a section of fun things to do
Cons
-Choppy walkthrough, it just highlights the key and difficult points in the game and expects you to get there on your own
-Expects you to use the map to navigate from point to point
-The dungeon walkthrough can seem too concise in a little under five instances, which aren't difficult to figure out, i.e. you'll need a key to enter and you'll need to find it on your own
-No Bestiary
-A little thin
Overall its a great guide. I would definitively pick this guide up if you buy The Legend of Zelda Collectors Edition or decide to go retro and pick up and N64 and LOZ:MM.
- Thank you for responding back. I've been looking for a Player's Guide in this game because it gets confusing for awhile. So, I don't mind cheating, which is my best bet in most games. I found what I've been looking for.
- Never get lost in this game again. With this players guide you will find everything and never get stuck in the game again.

5 comments about Kingdom Hearts II Limited Edition Strategy Guide (Official Strategy Guides) (Official Strategy Guides) (Official Strategy Guides) (Official Strategy Guides).
- I just got the KH II Limited Edition Strategy Guide shipped to me yesterday! It was great! The outside is a hard cover of sora and the gang, the cover holds the books. There are two books the Jiminy's Journal and the official strategy guide. There are 4 different covers: Valor, Wisdom, Master, and Final form of Sora. U can only get one of them. I luckly got the Final form version of Sora for the cover.
-(The 1st book)Jiminy's Journal:
- Has 400 stickers of the same size as the 100 dalmation in the first KH strategy guide.
- The Strategy guide has info on all the character you meet and the worlds. Even the Heartless and bosses.
- The journal is like a grocery list, like a check list for everything in the game that you wont miss and it even tells you what kind a cutscene there is for what world. Every world you go to, they have a picture for every you get, like certain potions or maps, shards, AP Boost. It even tells you where in that world to get it like for example: there are 2 potions and 1 HI-potion in the Mansion(Foyer) in Tranverse Town.
- Every character you meet and every boss, or heartless , and even CUTSCENES are in there. Once you have meet that character or defeated that certain boss or discover a new heartless or saw a certain cutscene, you put a sticker there to indicate that you are done with it. For example: In Agrabah, you have to meet characters like Aladin, Jasmine, Genie, and etc.. Once you have met them already, you can get the sticker with their face on it from the back of the Jiminy's journal (one of the 400 stickers)and put it in the box next to the picture of Aladin indicating that you have already met that character. There are also stickers of potions to put on so you know which and what kind of potions you still need to find.
-(The 2nd book)The Official Strategy Guide:
- This book has all the info on important characters. The moves, ability, level-ups, limit-commands, and their stats.
- It is basicly a walkthrough of the game. Every step to the end.
I hope this helped all of you and encourages you to buy it. It is really worth it to buy it! Especially if you are a bbig fan of KH and Final Fantasy like me! ^_^!
- This is the ultimate gift for the ultimate Kingdom Hearts fan. Not only is the back cover customized with a beautifully glazed image of one of Sora's four forms, there's also an extra character booklet that gives you even more detailed information on every single character within the game. To top it off, the entire package is neatly stacked in a stylistic cover case.
This makes for a great gift and the price is absolutely worth it.
- I bought this for my son 15. y.o. He already had the same book but hisone is the better one I guess, well he LOVES it and cant put it down! So I am very happy with my purchase!
- This is the best biggest guide to any game I have ever bought, I love it! I read it just like a book, it is so awesome!
- Very informative, has lots of detail, comes with many extras. Must-buy for any Kingdom Hearts fan.

5 comments about Super Mario Sunshine: Prima's Official Strategy Guide.
- To say this guide was bad would be like throwing the game out of your bedroom window! It is so cool you would not believe it!
The text is well laid out and they have used screen shots in all the right places! The only problem is that it dosen't run in order. The hub world comes before everything else(apart from training). And for shine number 10,11,12 and 13 you need a nozzel you can't reach. The good: +Well laid out. +Lots of shots +Detailed. The Bad: -Not in order
- Super Mario Sunshine is a VERY hard game, luckily, I found this guide, and it told me EVERYTHING I needed to know
- I sometimes need help from games through strategy guides, but there are some guide the publishers make, that really don't seem to adequately carry on very well. Prima has made a few of them. Their guide to Super Mario Sunshine for the Nintendo Gamecube, really doesn't seem all that helpful. Although the designs as nice and very well put together, it really doesn't coursely enough show the maps and hints in there, to get through certain areas, and to find shines needed to beat Super Mario Sunshine. All in all, it only seems like a must have, if you don't have the original guide from Nintendo. Instead, I absolutely suggest you get the Nintendo Power strategy guide of Super Mario Sunshine. It is a much better guide for that exact same price as the plumber gets the pipes.
- The Good
Loads of colorful screenshots
Nice Checklists
The Bad
none as i know of
This guide comes with cool mario sunshine postcards ' and i brought this guide through ebay and i went to look at it ' during playing the video game and finally i beated the game and i couldntve done it without this book so i suggest buying it if youre having trouble with SMS
So buy this book you wont regret it :)
- The book is messy. First, it's impossible to find a blue coin in this stupid guide. They give you crappy hints

5 comments about Arms and Equipment Guide (Star Wars Roleplaying Game).
- To add a better sense of diversity, this book is an awesome tool.
It give a greater depth to the technical players out there
- Glad I bought this book. The Star Wars RPG left many questions about weapons and technology open. This book answers about 30% of those questions, which is a lot of material.
- For SW fans who absolutely MUSt have every possible variation of weapon, speeder and droid available, then this book is a good purchase, however, nothing in this book is a vast improvement on what's in the core rules.
On the up side, there seems to be no redundancy in this book, meaning that if it's listed in the Core Rules, then it's not listed here. The downside being that you have to have both this book and the Core Rulebook handy for a complete list of items.
A MAJOR NEGATIVE is that there are no weapons/droids/vehicles/etc. tables for quick reference like there are in the core rulebook, which makes comparing items at a glance much more difficult (I got around tis by printing up a comparison table in excel).
Also, to my great dissapointment, there are not starfighters, cargo ships, etc. at all in this book. Only speeders, walkers, bikes, etc., none of which are all that impressive. Infact, save for the armor and possibly the droids, there's nothing impressive about this book at all.
I did, however, like the ability to customize and personalize weapons, armor and--to a limited extent--vehicles.
Some weapons have minor benefits here or there to the ones in the core rules, such as an increase in damage, but at the cost of range and/or accuracy. Spending more will not really get you a superior weapon (unless you personalize). Sorry folks.
I have a HUGE beef with the armor section. Armor lists the type, proficiency requires, cost, max dex bonus, speed, armor check penalty, weight, availability, era, and damage reduction, but not the DEFENSE BONUS the armor provides! WTF???
All in all this book could have been done MUCH better. I don't recommend it.
- WEAPONS
The selection of weapons is HUGE (even adding more types than the RCRB has listed). Each weapon has WPs & break DCs (which I also like). Along with new rules on Customizing & personalizing weapons.
Species chip (a optional device for Sonic weapons) - which increases effectiveness against a selected species (a few species is listed, but a GM can add more if he/she wishes) - and they are pretty cheap too.
ARMOR
Vast selection of armor & protective gear. Also rules for non-human species.
DROIDS
All Astromech units are included (which are my favorite). They also have many, many more droid types & units listed.
VEHICLES
Rules on custimizing. A big selection including : airspeeders, swoops, speeder bikes, and many more.
Also for the STAR WARS fan who is familiar with Tatooine, this book also includes the popular "Sandcrawler".
OTHER
There's even a section on jetpacks & other devices that let you fly.
There are a lot more things in here (buy the book, I'm not telling you everything).
- This is a very useful volume filled with lots of information and ideas for gear. My GM has already used it to modify some of the ships in our game with information from the book. Thanks to that our survival percentage has just gone up. (I'm not thinking about how the danger quotient of the bad guys has gone up too.) ;-)

3 comments about Crackdown (Prima Official Game Guide).
- Does not help in any way, I got this for the help in finding orbs, but the only orb map is so jumbled because there are 500 orbs, you can't figure out what is where. And the pictures of each orb are horribly done, it'll show an orb on a rock next to the ocean and say "Goodluck", or on top of a building with nothing but sky in the background so there is no landmark to show where that building is. Doesn't help with any races, any Secret jumps, and if you need this guide to beat the bosses then you should trade in your 360.
- Absolute waste of time. I tried scanning the maps so I could cross off orbs that I found but it's impossible to decifer with this guide. There's step by step instructions on how to beat the ENTIRE game (storyline) but who needs that?? I purchased this for one thing and thats ORBS. Tips are useless too and the weapon/enemy descriptions are pointless. "Beware snipers," yea great advice. Just search for Crackdown map in google and you'll get all the help you'll ever need and then some. There are entire FREE websites dedicated to what this "guide" tried to accomplish.
- Overall an alright guide you will need it if your into acheivments on the 360 some of the hidden items are spot specific and you will need this for those insane jumps but i didn't give it five stars because the thumbnail pictures of agility and hidden orbs is pointless-TRBL STRYKER-on live everyday-see you in halo3

5 comments about Heroes of Might and Magic V (Prima Official Game Guide).
- Don't buy this. There's more accurate information online about HOMM5. This is the poorest Game Guide I've ever bought.
- Overall the book is useful, but like most of Prima's game guides it is a mass of errors and typos. They really ought to consider hiring an editor.
- With a complex game like Heroes you want some good fold out tables and charts of the different troop-types and heroes. You dont get that. The entire book is in black and white. Most of the guide is simply a walkthrough of the Campaign missions. Bleh. That would have been fine to include that but fans of this game want tables and charts in a readable format. Very unfortunate how bad this "guide" is. I regret buying it.
- The game looks nice but except from the graphics nothing else has been changed from the previous version. You should by this game only if you missed playing heroes but do not expect much from it.
- I read the reviews here and hesitated to buy this guide. So I went into a game store and looked at it in person. It had everything I expected it to have: monster descriptions, spell descriptions, ability descriptions, campaign walkthroughs, and even some stuff I didn't expect, like what all the "Week of..."s meant.
It's certainly a grand improvement on what the game's rulebook gives you. Now I know in mechanical terms what items like "Battle Dive" and "Shield Bash" mean, and can use them properly--not hit a button and not know how the outcome was determined.
I still don't know what a Crystal Dragon is yet, but maybe it will turn up. :)
