1 comments about Blood: The Official Strategy Guide (Secrets of the Games Series.).
- Mel Odem and Ted Chapman have put together a book that any Bloodite such as myself would want. If you are into First Person Shooters, then you are into Blood. This book has it all, shows a full walk through of every bloody level. It also shows all the secret areas, and super secrets. If you like to read buy this book, it shows it all. I recommened it. I gave it four stars because some of the wording could have been better, but if you are into these games, you should understand what they are refering too. So buy the book, its worth it! Also anything done by Monolith Productions is good work!

2 comments about Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 Official Strategy Guide.
- i need to find gaps! thats all i care for. i need the last secret charecter!!!
- For me, nothing will ever replace Pro Skater 3. I'm a simple guy. Pro Skater 4 just has too many tricks and contests for me, and they are too hard. I would not have been able to get through Pro Skate 4 without this book. There's just so much going on in this game, that you either have to be a teenager, or a wiz-kid to get it. For an old man like me, who just wants to play this game with my son, the strategy book is a must have.

1 comments about Croc 2 (Prima's Official Strategy Guide).
- I thought this was a great book. If you have started playing the game there are a couple of sticky points that can be quite frustrating. This book was very helpful in the stratagies and walkthroughs for those who have difficulty. Even my young children found this book helpful to them. The color pictures are also great and can be corolated to the game itself.

1 comments about Dragon's Lair 3D (Prima's Official Strategy Guide).
- For all who didn't know, Dragon's Lair 3D: Return to The Lair was a game which almost didn't make it to shelves. Bogged down in development hell for some time, then after some trouble finding a publisher, Ubi Soft rescued this title, and it made it to shelves after all--enjoying moderate success for some months after launch across all available platforms.
As far as guides go, you're certainly getting everything you could want, or expect, and then some. Bestiary, item's lists, secret item locations, treasure item locations, walkthroughs, puzzle solutions, and full 3D maps. But as if all this weren't enough, you're also getting a short history of Dragon's Lair, profiles of the creators, and even a time line revealing every entry in the franchise (unfortunately, a couple of the more obscure sequels are so rare collectors will be hard pressed to ever find them), and that Dragon's Lair has appeared on almost every gaming platform ever made. My only true gripe with this guide is that while the guide tells you that collecting the treasure hidden in the levels opens new gameplay modes, it doesn't tell you what those modes are, or how much of the treasure you need to collect to unlock them (hopefully not all of it, as some of the treasure is VERY difficult to get--particularly in one specific room where the guide offers no suggestions or hints about how to get it). I'll have to ding it for that too--most people buy guides for the sake of puzzle solutions, finding secrets, and unlocking bonus content--sometimes even to the point of having the plot given away, being led by the hand, or having puzzles spelled right out; not to be given vague, inspecific hints, then left to figure it out on your own through repetition. Fortunately enough though, these instances are rare--in the overwhelming majority of cases, it does offer suggestions on how to get treasure (generally in a sidebar). You can argue that the best guides give away secrets without handing out plot spoilers, but in a game where the primary objective is so straightforward, is there really a point to it?
All in all, while not perfect, this guide is an excellent companion for the game, almost completely ensures that you won't get stuck, is in full color, and has all the extras we've come to expect from modern strategy guides. It's also out of print, and near impossible to find on shelves unless it's by chance in a place that handles second hand games and guides. But people who bought this game as a permanent addition to their collection because of nostalgic value would do well to grab a copy of this guide while it's still available. It's the only official guide available for the game, it's inexpensive here on amazon, and I highly recommend it.

1 comments about Title Inside Babylon: The Unauthorized, Uncensored Guide for Fansof Babylon 5.
- This book was obviously a labor of love by the author - but he didn't love it enough to get it right. The book is filled with errors, misspelled names, episode titles and actor information. With so many terrific B5 books out there (such as Andy Lane's book) this book is truly a waste of money and anyone should be advised against buying it. If there was a "no star" rating (see above) it has certainly earned it.

- I just got the guide and have looked through the book as it pertains to comments on how to advance your career. I have been active on several of the on-line discussion groups. Most people are looking for more comprehensive instructions on how to best design cities in the different city assignments. This guide is certainly not going to guarantee that someone will work through all the issues they will face to win at these cities. I would recommend people look at the on-line forums by Sierra or Impressions to get more helpful suggestions on the more difficult assignments. Some more maps and illustrations on building designs to support different types of housing would also have been appreciated. It is not a completely useless book, but I was definitely underwelmed.
- This book seems to have been written well before the game was released. They make numerous references to fire prevention, which should have been changed to Prefectures. Overall, the book is good, but minor things like that drag the star rating down a little.
- Granted that this book is no walk-through nor is as detailed as some on-line posts, some of us who don't have time to wade through newsgroup archives will find it valuable. Its strength lies in its organization. Reading the mission descriptions and the third chapter will give a sense of city design. The description of the structires is more accessible than the manual's tables. It's very handy as a quick reference and has given me several "Afa! So that's how it works" insights that saved me alot of time.
However, it MUST be used in conjunction with the manual. Some options, such as Trade Center, are easier to find in the manual. A good buy for the gamer with limited time.
- This Guide is a MUST i was pretty stuck and my money was low the Plebls were even Killing my Troops! THIS DAMM THING SAVED THE DAY!
