5 comments about Final Fantasy Tactics: Prima's Official Strategy Guide (Greatest Hits).
  1. ...because I think that the strategy guide is quite useful. You would have to be a buffoon to need actual STRATEGIES to win the battles - this is not the intended purpose. However, knowing that the marquis has an entire complement of Genji armor, which otherwise cannot be found, makes the gaming experience much more enjoyable. Also, knowing WHERE to find Cloud's materia blade, without which he cannot perform any special attacks, is quite nice. I guess I COULD complain that Square put these things into the game in order to get us to buy strategy guides, but hey, that's not a complaint against the GUIDE, right?
All in all, I found the guide useful, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get everything possible out of the game. However, if you need the guide simply to get through the battles, well, maybe you should switch to another game, like Candy Land.

  2. I got the stratagy guide almost the earliest day possible. I hope to do business with this person in the future.

  3. Final Fantasy Tactics is a game where you have to use tactics. You have to THINK. You can't expect a book to do your thinking for you. The guide's strategies are a joke anyway.
WHat is usefule, however, is some of the job descriptions and the other million details you want for a perfect file. However, be warned--there are many inaccuracies and errors. Besides, you usually find better information on the net anyhow.

Buy it if you're a die-hard FFT fan, too dumb to think of a good strategy, too lazy to bother yourself to think, or don't have internet access (then why are you here? hmm...). Otherwise, you don't really need color maps and fancy fonts, now do you?

  4. Very Good Nobulaks.......om kotomou mato nu!!!! mamatai ko dogo?? patazon kui ziau doino... bantaton katatanak...

  5. This is a pretty good strategy guide. I had already beaten the game once before I actually bought this guide of Amazon for 10 bucks. When I played the game the 2nd time using the strategy guide, it helped me find secrets and other things that I had no idea about before. It also has a very useful appendix that lists all the Armour you can buy, all the monsters, missions, etc. Along with a very useful description of each of the 20 Job classes.

5 comments about Animal Crossing (Prima's Official Strategy Guide).
  1. I dont know if this is the animal crossing guide i have or not. But the one i have is full of useful information on this game, that's fun to just look at.. even if you have the game if you ask me.

  2. Animal Crossing is a real world type game.It has great graphics and is not violent. It has a lot of stuff you would do when you move out of your parents house like bills house ware and of course geting letters from your mom! By:Andrew Fink

  3. This guide is a great tool for Animal Crossing fans to find out what pieces they are missing from their sets, and when activities happen (in general) and items can be found. Beware, however, if you are looking for a guide that will tell you every detail of your game. Due to the nature of Animal Crossing, no guide can give you a complete list of what to expect. The guide includes a calendar of the events for 2003, so if you're playing the game at the current date and time these events will not be accurate. This guide can tell you what to expect, but can't tell you exactly when and where it will happen in your Animal Crossing town. The only way to do that is to play your game every day ;) The layout of the guide makes it easy to catalog what you have collected and see what you are still missing, but looking up items takes a bit of page turning. There are nearly complete item lists, and approximate timetables for catching fish and insects. Overall, this guide is a great resource for collecting, but it can't replace the months/years of gameplay necessary to 'complete' the game and do all there is to do in your town.

  4. Since this item is no longer in stock it would be nice if you would delete it from the listing. I have been looking for this title for a long time and was very disappointed to find that it is sold out.

  5. If you play Animal Crossing a lot then you have to have this because there is so much to the game. There are some problems but it still is handy and can help a lot. That said you still will have to get some info on the internet. Is there such a thing as a casual AC player? I don't think so.

5 comments about Player's Guide to Faerun (Dungeons & Dragons d20 3.5 Fantasy Roleplaying, Forgotten Realms Accessory).
  1. A USEFULL GUIDE FOR FAERUN PLAYERS

    This book contains 3 specification
    - 3.5 Updates of FR Realms Campign Setting
    - A gathering book from other FR Rule Books
    - Some new addition things

The most important thing of this book that is care us; it is a gathering guide book from main books of Forgotten Realms. (FR Campaign Setting, Faiths & Pantheons, Races of Faerun, Magic of Faerun) This Guide takes the important things for players from these 4 books and collects together. It is a Summary of them.

Player Guide to Faerun includes nearly all things for Forgotten Realms players. The players can find necessary knownlodge for their characters in one book. But if they wants more details and other specific things they should to have ektra books.

The main reason for to get this book is; The standard Faerun Players may use this book without need the other books. They may take only two book to games; The Players Handbook and Players Guide to Faerun. This may be second main book for them.
Also, they can create their characters and play after for dont need the FR Campaign Setting.

It is only few new additon things whose is not other books. So dont think to buy for only new additions.

If you thing to have minimal number books to play in Forgotten Realms, you should buy only two books; FR Campaign Setting, Player Guide to Faerun. (After to have 3 core rule book of D&D)
The players who have other FR books, they may also get this book if they want quick summary guide under their hand during their games.

    Includes the Collection of these:
Races, P.Classes, Skills, Feats, Domains and Spells, Magic Items, Epic Levels.

This was my fifth FR book, I have had before these books; FR Campaign Setting, Faiths & Pantheons, Races of Faerun, Magic of Faerun, but I want to take this guide also because I want a usefull thin guide for bring it to games. Sometimes it is some difficult to look and find your needs other 4 books, it may took time.

I recommended this book for Players of Forgotten Realms Players, but not for any DM. It is a Player Guide like name. And I repeat this; it is a summary book for FR players.

  2. I'm always a little leary about buying "Player's Guides" since I'm a DM most of the time, but this one was almost necessary to correct the errors and region system in the original Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (Dungeons & Dragons). Also upgrades spells from the Magic of Faerun! Very cool and worth every penny I spent so far.

  3. This book was well worth the money I spent, it was delivered to me in quick timing, and was in almost perfect sondition.

  4. Player's Guide to Faerun is a very good FR supplement, but it lacks any information on the facts that happened (are going to happen depending on the year your campaign is going on) after the Year of The Rouge Dragons. It focus a lot on the planes other then the material plane and prestige classes, but not much on geography and politics between the realms.

  5. This is a usefull book for those useing the Forgotten Realms as there campaign world. It has info from the main capaign guide and other books to help the players. I also use it for other games when I am looking for races, feats etc.

5 comments about Star Wars Battlefront II (Prima Official Game Guide).
  1. I'm terribly sorry, but this is just one of those games that does'nt really need a guide. The layout and gameplay are simple, and the need for a walkthrough is rather moot. It is an good way to pick up odd hints or if you can't find something, but much of the info and "exclusive tips" are rather obvious. "wrap the AT-AT" or "try to get the hero". I mean, duhhhhhh. Of course you want to do those things. It's a waste of money unless you can find it dirt cheap. Save for a game instead.

  2. I agree with the other guy who wrote this review also....you don't realy need the walk through part. I think that the vehicle and character descriptions are helpful though.

  3. Star wars battle front 2 is a good game and the game guide is just as good.do not listen to these people.Lets say you are a jedi and lets say your mace windo.it will tell you the quickest way to kill CIS droids. This game guide gives specific details and great maps.

  4. This is a simple and easy to use strategy guide. What a strategy guide should be, complete and thorough.

  5. I found this manual very helpful, a nicely detailed walkthrough and maps that make sense, generally very usefull especially when you are stuck.

5 comments about Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness (Prima's Official Strategy Guide).
  1. Tombraider is an awesome game, i would highly recommend this book. There are several puzzles, secrets etc..that without this book you would not be able to find.

  2. The Prima guides for all of the previous Tomb Raider games have been spot on and extremely helpful for those times you when your in a tight spot and don't know how to get out of it. The guide for AOD however is plain misleading. I chucked mine aside and decided to wing it on my own. Apparently the guide was written way before the game was finished, so some things just don't add up, somethings don't even appear in the game and some things are completely missing. I hate to say this but don't waste your money. If you're really stuck, you're much better off hitting the various tomb raider BB's on the web. Much more helpful!

  3. This guide is good most of the time but there are parts of it that are totally wrong. Lots of time it'll tell you to kill the guard and collect his gun. Only there is no gun there. This is either a problem with the game or with the book. There are so many bugs with the game it is hard to tell. Anyway, both the game and the book are terrible. Eidos should be embarrassed.

  4. I'm on the 26th level, and this book got me through the last 25 levels. I'm so happy that Prima came out with this book. It tells where all the items you need are, it tells where all the secrets are, etc. It even gives detail on what you're supposed to do on both Lara and Kurtis's missions. It was very helpful to me, so it should be helpful to you!!!

  5. A week after Tomb Raider: The Angel Of Darkness came out, i bought my PS2. Along with the console and the game i bought Prima's *official* Strategy Guide. Upon starting to play, the first few levels are simple so there really isn't a use for the book until a level like Louivre Storm Drains and some of the levels following it. The guide helped me easily through some tough levels, but others like Louivre Galleries, i had serious problems. In the galleries, the guide instructed me to shimmy over four trip wires (2 of which were moving), i later came to find out this was IMPOSSIBLE. You instead must do a running jump over the wires from one of the display cases. Another problem surfaced in the Hall Of Seasons level. In that level i spent an hour trying to figure out why the door in the basement wouldn't open, i came to find out that you had to place 4 crystals by the entrance door (this wasn't mentioned in the guide). The guide caused me hours of frustration, making gameplay very uncomfortable. However, i'm giving this "official" guide 2 stars because it helped me through some levels in the game. The reason, i later found out, for these glitches in the book, were because Prima made this guide for the Sep. 02 release of AoD, they never updated it after the delays. This guide, in my opinion, isn't worth the almost twenty bucks i paid for it, the only thing i got out of this guide that was enjoyable was the full poster inside.

5 comments about The Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past (Prima's Official Strategy Guide).
  1. I never played the original game for the Super Nintendo but, I picked up this game very quickly. I beat this game once without the guide and after I looked in the guide at a store I decided it was worth it for all the extra's I may have missed. With the help from this guides step-by-step fashion I beat this game a second time with a hundred percent completion. It was the greatest feelling ever to know that you had all of the items and heart pieces that the original game designers had put in there, hoping a few selected people would find all of them. This guide also has the multiplayer Four Swords guide but, I haven't looked at that yet. This guide is a worthwhile investment for any Zelda fan. It is a huge commitment to beat a very long game, such as this one, because it really tests your patience level. Patience is required just to beat it without one hundred percent, this guide is for those perfectionists who can't leave a game unbeaten. Bryan Stratton did a very good job on this guide. Best guide I have ever played from and believe me I have played among many confusing guides and this one was well laid out compared to some.

  2. This guide is very, very dumb cuz all it duz is take the fun out of the game. A game is supposed to test your brain in mysteries and adventure, but with this (so- called helpful) guide, it takes every little step for you, and all you need to do is move your finger to move your Link dude, and that's that. Game Over.
    -sucks

  3. This book didn't help me at all! The maps are useless, there aren't any good tips and it overall sucks!!!!!

  4. THIS BOOK IS THE BOOK FOR THIS GAME. IF YOU CANNOT TELL ME THAT THESE MAPS LOOK EXACTLY LIKE THE DUNGEONS LOOK LIKE, THEN U MUST BE BLIND, HAVE THE IQ OF 2, OR JUST CRABBY CAUSE U CANNOT BEET IT!. Seriously though, this book is the greatest, it tells you everything you need to know, even the new qeust, dungeon , and sword move. Trust me, the maps are beutiful, and they are so sharp, you can point out a bush, and count its pedals, you know, the little ones you slash with the sword, yeah. Take it from me, A gamer whos beet it 6 times, 3 from the book , by then i knew it by heart, so, trust me on this, buy it!

  5. When you pay money for a gaming guide, you'd expect a comprehensive coverage for the game. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past : Prima's Official Strategy Guide (now, that's a long title) does exactly that. This guide has all the information you need to beat the game handsomely, including tips to collect all items, strategies to beat various enemies, and some very well-rendered images of the maps.

I particularly like the layout of the walkthrough, as it provides a step-by-step guide to doing things. While it may be too structured for some people, I personally find this should be the way to do things. The sidequests are listed as and when you should do them to minimise backtracking, and this helps you to save time. The dungeon walkthroughs are also nicely structured. Prima used the "numbered room" approach, which links the text to their own numbering on the maps. This makes sure that unless you're really bad, you won't get lost. Of course, the book also provides effective fighting strategies, which could just be the information for you to destroy that tough boss.

All in all, this is a great guide book for one of the greatest Legend of Zelda games ever. If you need help in progressing, you should do yourself a favor and get this.

5 comments about A Beginner's Guide to Second Life version 1.1.
  1. This book is not as pretty as some of the other books on Second Life, but it has plenty of useful information for the beginner. It's occasionally a little snarky about newbies, but that's my only complaint. I would have given it 5 stars if the illustrations had been better. I found it well worth the money and still refer to it while my 2 other books on SL are gathering dust.

  2. Second Life is a place where you can acgtually learn.
There are many real Universities who provide classroom hours,
    lectures, conferences and simposiums.
It is a place where you can learn how to run business,
how to construct, design, and build super architectural structures.
It is a fun place also, to go skydiving or swim in the ocean,
and it is certainly a great place to make friends.

In order to be able to be an active happy participant of the Second Life world, you need to learn how to quit bumbing your avatar into corners, not step on each other's feet, not to fall into ocean while flying, and not to accidentally dress into a LAMPSHADE instead of the new clothes you've just gotten...

A Beginner's Guide to Second Life is a textbook for newbies, an absolute necessity, if you want to improve sooner and lear the basics of how to BE in this amazing environment full of wonders and great opportunities!

  3. The book "A beginner's Guide to Second Life" gives a good introduction on basic topics,
such as objects texturing and building, Orientation Island, Help
Island, places where to find items of various kind, how to take
pictures and movies/snapshots, and so on. Moreover, the book faces
other interesting topics, such as avatar modification to change its
aesthetic, land management, and how to get free money -- a suggestion
that's always useful especially to the beginners.

A very good point is that this book seems to be more practical than
the official guide, therefore, it provides lot of useful details that
are extremely useful for the beginners. Unfortunately, the Linden
Scripting Language -- a very interesting topic -- is not faced at all.

For instance, among the topics faced in the book, Telereport is
explained with a good detail. Moreover, the author clarifies some
issues with respect to the Telereport itself. Sometimes, in fact, the
Telereport does not properly work. Therefore, once we have looked up
for a place P, we might be transported to a different place (useful
information to avoid unpleasant headache for the newbies). Likewise,
searching for a pattern does not always produce the desired effect -- looking for "sand box" is different than looking for "sandbox".

  4. The bad news - it's expensive for what you get.
The good news - it gives you clear and illustrated instructions to get you going. Plus some exercises so you have something to try once you get into the Second Life grid.

  5. This is a great book, it walks you through every aspect of SL. It even shows basic building and content creation in Second Life. If you are looking for an introduction this book is not bad. Some of it can be a bit confusing since SL has redesigned the user interface since this book's screen shots were made. However, its not hard to figure out!

  1. This guide is well laid out. The bestiary, photos, and campaign walkthrough are top notch. I really liked the sections that explained the Greek myths, which provided extra background info about the characters in the game. It was definitely an abbreviated history lesson. The guide also contains lots of concept art in the back. You also get a nice rundown of all the hitpoints for all the enemies. All the combos are explained. If you are a fan of the series, you can't go wrong with this little guide.

  2. The GoW guides are some of the best out there because the include every tiny bit on what you have to do in the game. I also liked that the Bestilery has improved and is a lot more clear. The only problem I have with this is that it doesnt show you the bonus costumes that you unlock as Kratos. So overall this is a very good guide and it comes in handy a lot.

  1. I am age old gamer. I love these type of games that are similar to the C&C games. A totally great feel and the AI will kick your butt if you not sharp. This is all about Kill. Not farming for resources. Kill, Kill and get resources. That the game. I love the view zoom. Down to my shoes almost totally free moving around the field of view. It a Winner to any gamer collection.

  2. This is a well-written guide for new players. It focuses on the single player campaign, but much of what you learn can be used in multi-player. I would purchase it again.

5 comments about Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Official Strategy Guide (Bradygames Signature Series).
  1. this guide is a perfect complement to the game it, let get to the good points of this guide.
1.it gives you an in depth guide to beat the missions, shotcuts to take if you are doing tricky missions.
    2. it gives you a map with the hidden packages on it to get rewards.
3.gives you a look at the cars, wepons, and planes
but using it is like cheating. still great buy.

  2. This book is okay and moderately helpful, but why would you need to spend anything to get only one point of view on strategy for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City? Just go to GameFaqs.com and check out all the *free* stuff that has been written about this great game. (See: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/game/33074.html.) Waste your money, if you want, but at least check out GameFaqs.com before purchasing Bogenn's book.

  3. ok this guide is helpful but i completed all the missions before i bought the guide i only got it to find the hidden packages easier but just like the gta 3 guide there is some wrong info in this guide so be careful

  4. Now THIS is a real videogame strategy guide. The official strategy guide for "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" is an extremely helpful little tool in your quest of chaos and mayhem. It'll help you out if you're in a tough jam or need to know how to get out of a rough situation pronto. The guide offers step-by-step descriptions of what should be done in order to complete all of the missions that are thrown in your way. Pictures are included, as well as alternate routes and techniques to get the job done.

Not only is this guide helpful by just merely explaining the missions and how to achieve successful outcomes of those missions, but the guide also gives you some excellent tips and secrets. You also get complete profiles of weapons, cars, and your friends (along with your enemies). The guide helps you figure out what vehicle/weapon would be the most useful to you on certain missions. Full details of side missions are also at your disposal as well. A downside of the guide is that there are some typos and errors present. Looks like somebody doesn't like to proofread--although, I should be the LAST person to complain about such things. Besides, it's not like you're reading the guide for literary qualities.

The guide is most useful when you use it as a reference tool. This meaning that you only refer to it when you are in a tough spot and do not know how to get out of it. Or, you're stuck on a certain mission and no matter how many times you attempt it, you end up either dead or arrested. Then, this is when the guide becomes the most helpful. The pure fun of the game itself is how unpredictable it is. There's always a nasty surprise that awaits you around every dark and trashy corner. So, I would not recommend that you use the guide for the entire duration of your joyriding in Vice City.

This very well laid out strategy guide for "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" is a more than helpful tool that will get you out of many binds during your stay in Vice City. With excellent step-by-step mission layouts, colorful pictures, and detailed profiles on characters, vehicles and weapons, this proves to be a truly informative guide that no "Grand Theft Auto" fan should be without. Keep it close to you, is my advice to you. You never know when you're going to need it... -Michael Crane

Although this is probably the least error-ridden volume in BradyGames' Grand Theft Auto strategy guide series, it does contain a few errors. Although BradyGames hasn't (to my knowledge) released a corrected-version, they have released some corrected information on their website:

    Page 9: Robbing Shops
The correct location of the Deli is as follows: Deli (Cafe Robina) - The cafeteria in Little Havana where you receive the CUBANS: Umberto missions.
    * Screenshot: [see image uploaded to Product Images section on this item's page on Amazon]

Page 144: Pizza Delivery Missions--150 Max Health
During this side mission, you're tasked to complete a certain number of pizza deliveries. It starts out with one delivery, followed by two, three, all the way to 10. Successfully complete all 10 separate deliveries (from 1 to 10) in one attempt to unlock Max Health of 150hp.

Page 147: Having trouble finding the PCJ Playground Odd Job?
First, check out our Odd Jobs map on page 133. See where it says "Street Race 2"? Now find the little orange square just below the word "Street" on the map. That's where the PCJ Playground mission takes place (on a corner where Washington Beach becomes Vice Point). The PCJ cycle is parked right beside the wall of the apartment building on the NE corner of that intersection. If it's not there when you arrive, then perform a jump on the nearby ramp with any vehicle. When you return to the correct spot, the PCJ 600 will definitely be there.

Page 172: Having trouble finding Hidden Package #43?
It is still located in Studio C on Prawn Island, but there isn't a bathroom stall. In the movie studio lot, enter the first building on the right. The hidden package is located just inside to the left.

Page 175: Airport Hidden Package #97
This hidden package is located in Gate 1-8, not Gate 8-1.

Hidden Stat Line: Keepie-Uppy beach ball
Visit Starfish Island and go to the house across the street from Diaz's mansion, then find the beach ball in the empty pool in the back. Run into the ball to knock it into the air, then get it to bounce off Tommy's head. This adds the line "Highest score with Keepie-Uppy beach ball" to the Stats page.

    100% Completion
If you are stuck at 99% complete, try the following: Return to shooting range downtown and get a score of 45 or higher.
