1. Hexen 2 is probably the best game as of this day. It combines beautiful 128-bit graphics with strategy & action that only Raven software and its staff can create. Doom had worse graphics and was quite boring since there was no decisions you had to make (you were simply supposed to shoot everybody). Raven software was very creative in making this game (for example no other 3-D game ever had their boss grow in size so realistically and the archers in this game are by no means stupid--they will quickly dodge your attacks). The strategy guide for this game explains almost everything. The illustrations allow you to imagine the creatures and places better. Since Hexen 2 came out I have never seen as better game. And there probably won't be (at least until Raven software creates a new game in the Hexen series.

1. This is a book that lists combos and moves. For that it is great. The major failing point is that this is all that it is. You can get the moves sheet from gamefaqs.com. I need a book with all the strategies and methods for each character. Virtua Fighter is a deep and complicated game that is full of anticipation and knowing which moves to use and when to use them. It does not show in what situations to use certain moves or tell you the exact timing of the combos ( really important ). In fact it fails miserably. Don't get this book, all it is is shiny paper with pictures of moves but no substance.



2. The Virtua Fighter 3tb strategy guide is a good guide but not great. I've seen better guides for other fighting games such as Killer Instinct and Super Street Fighter 2 which highlighted ALL of the characters moves with pics. This guide has good pics but not as much as I would like.

   The guide also gives some sort of backround info on the characters but it is not a necessity for a good guide. More depth and fighting strategies would have been apprecieated. I was not fond of the names for some of the games basic moves such as a slap by the Sumo Wrestler named the "demon killer" or "demon winning raise". Such names are not necessary as served as a slight turn off. I don't know much about Virtua Fighter as this is my first VF game I also did not like the satanic plot for Judgement 6, the evil organisation behind the tournament. Such things were not apprecieated and took away from the guide. As I said i'm no expert on the game and do not know if these names of the moves or the plot are "offical" and straight from Sega or not.

   As I said earlier readers would have apprecieated a more indepth guide with strategies for beginners to experts and even some interviews with VF 3 experts and tips on how to play. Good guide but not great.

1. This strategy guide doesn't have anything that you can't find on the internet. However, some might like the portability and convenience of having an actual book instead of just looking at your computer screen. You make the call.

1. I love having pets for the sims. This helps a lot. But I have to say that the game stinks.



2. This is the latest in the Prima's series of Official Strategy Guides for the Sims and it's expansion packs. As with the previous books for the expansion packs, the first half of the book deals with the basic strategies of playing The Sims regardless what expansion packs you have. If you've bought a previous book in the Prima series, you'll want to go right to the second half of the book.

   There's not a lot of earth-shaking information here. A Sims junkie with any Internet skills can probably find all the information that's in this book. But if you depend only on what you find online, you'll find lots of incorrect garbage as well. What you find in this book you can take to the bank as being correct. You also won't find all this information in one place online, and it won't be organized as well.

   If you're looking for some previously unknown secret to be revealed, you won't find it in this book. If you want a little more insight into The Sims, and the Unleased expansion pack, you'll find it here. The insight I gained from this book has helped me enjoy the game a little more. I have no regrets about buying the book.




3. This book reads like it was written for four-year-olds and doesn't say anything more than the manual would. (If there was a manual.) Don't even bother ...



4. This is all about the original Sims and then towards the end gets in to the basics of Unleashed that one could learn from the program itself!

   Complete waste of money that only looks good on a shelf!




5. Okay not to start off on a bad note I will say that the tips where very useful to me. However here are the two main things I had problems with:

   1) Re-reading the Orginal Sims strategy guide which is the first half of the book. I've already read the strategy guide on its own, in Livin Large, House Party, Hot Date, and the Vacation strategy guides (is it necessary to have it part of every strategy guide?)

   and

   2) The pictures some of which where nice, but when trying to show the different pet tricks it was hard to see them because they're small, black and white photo's hard to notice the small dogs and cats in the pictures.

   There are useful tips on housebreaking, breeding, winning the pet show, gardening, and caring for other pets like the turtle and fish. Also very helpful tables showing the new career choices. This was usefull for me at least as well getting to see all the new objects laid out telling me the cost and motive enhancments. Also this strategy guide is very easy to read, which helped me read through it in a breaze so I could go play the game as soon as possible.

1. an acceptable strategy guide if you don't want to spend unnecessary hours finding hard-hidden items and hard-hidden keys to locked doors

   while the book provides you with sufficient info. to get through each world, it does not hold your hand too much- it allows you some self-discovery while covering the essentials

   the major drawback is that the book gives false information on how to access the necromondia cave level. apparently the guide was written using an earlier 'draft' of the game.

   considering this is the longest, most difficult level in the game, and considering no one at prima temp would help me with this problem when i called...i knocked two stars off this review




2. Very disappointing.

   First, the overworld maps are no where to be found. You will have to rely on the game's built-in maps to travel around. The author only did maps for the dungeons and provide tactics to deal with Normal mode.

   Second, the Mystic stones coverage is pathetic. The author only mentions that you must cover all 4 modes-Easy, Normal, Hard and Legendary to get them all. Who doesn't know this?! No in depth descriptions of where to get all 25 mystic stones individually; nor does it show you in its basic walkthrough how to go about doing it. Just one paragraph summary. All secrets revealed? Hardly.

   Primagames' guides are a mixed bag. And this one written by Rygar looks like it was rushed and very haphazardly done. Stay far far away from it. You can win the game with common sense. I did; and I bought it on the promise of "secrets" hoping to complete my collection of mystic stones. Sadly, it fails to deliver "every item detailed" as advertised on the back of this book.
