3 comments about Ultima Collection : Prima's Official Guide to Ultima Collection.
- At first glance the early Ultima games seem quite simple, but don't let the stick figures and pixilous graphics throw you, this is hardcore role-playing at its best. This book gives you everything from the beautiful detailed maps of every game, to prices of every item at every store, plus hints and walkthroughs (and dungeon maps!!) But watch out, there are a few spoilers for some of the puzzles as well. So if your in a stuck, or maybe just looking for a quick way to beat one of the games, this book is for you.
- Not much to say... I love RPGs and these are some really cool classics.
- All essential information for playing Ulima I-VIII and Akalabeth is in this book. One small problem: the Ultima VIII section is based on an older, slightly inferior version of the game -- it should have been updated. However, it is good enough to get you through most tough spots.

5 comments about Legaia 2: Duel Saga (Prima's Official Strategy Guide).
- Besides the poor graphics, the much-touted arts list features at least 3 typos. If you're going to rave about your inclusive list, at least spend some time proofreading. Couldn't they have afforded an editor?
And...why can't anyone get this...if you're going to list weapons and armor, why not do it by listing them in order of strength instead of alphabetically? If one of the purposes in an RPG is to strengthen characters, shouldn't the lists reflect that? Duplicate explanations of stategy (sometimes in the very next paragraph) seem to me to be unnecessary filler. Attention could have been given to explaining conditional aspects of the game (availability of sidequests, etc.) In short, a guide should give you what you need to thoroughly explore the game. It should not repeat the obvious information available simply by viewing the cinematics or listening in on conversations in camp (things you do in the game regardless)
- Legaia 2 is a HUGE game with TONS of secrets and sidequests. Eventually you'll find the need to grab a guide and while this isn't the best guide it helps to do SEVERAL things that the others here have not mentioned.
To begin, the pre-walkthrough in this guide is full of amazing detail and combat tips. It gives off great strategies of how to battle and take down your opponets. The game also has handy character bios and such as well as an arts list. However, as handy as the arts list is the list has a couple of typos. It's handy and helps but some arts they list off twice and for Sharon there's one art that isn't listed at all. The Walkthrough is not done too badly. Before each section there's a map that points out items and other things. Then in the text it elaborates on the other points. It list the monsters at the beginning and strategies for taking down each one in the area. The guide won't take you to every item (that's what the maps are for!) but they give you an idea on where to find the ones that aren't in plain sight. All the puzzle solutions are given perfectly. There are a few problems that exist. For example the main portion of the walkthrough is fine but boss strategies, monster strategies and all around tips are in a strange font. The font IS readable but it takes a while to distinguish between some letters (such as a "h" looks like an "b" in this font). Screenshots are NOT crystal clear. It's a good thing that the screens you need actually can be used. Some screens are blurry while others are too bright. The guide covers ALL the hunters guild sidequests, the centaurion challenge, helps you get every recipe, helps out in the battle arena, gives you the low down on cooking and gardening. The guide has a lot to offer really and it lives up to it all. The guide has a complete monster list. It is all text but this isn't such a problem. Every monster is listed in here but I WISH they were listed IN the walkthrough. The guide has them completely in the back. The monster list also has a couple of typos. None too serious (as long as the HP listed is correct I'm okay). Thank goodness the ingame has a bar below each enemy. The item, weapon and armor list give the same description as the game does. No problem there, EVERY RPG guide does that so don't worry about that. The skills list I was hoping would be much better described than the game did. My biggest gripe with this guide is it doesn't help you find all the heaven's secrets! Some you will get such as when it helps you out on mini-games, hunters guild and a few other sidequests. But for some like finding the Supreme Weapons shop Heaven Secret it doesn't detail that at all! It also doesn't help you find all the nicknames for characters. So the overall effort is this: It will help you get through the game and take care of a few sidequests but it won't help you master the game. The list have typos in them and while the walkthrough and extras help it isn't enough to help you get the full experience from Legaia 2.
- I am a big fan of Legaia 2: Duel Saga. It's a terrific game, and it deserved a terrific guide, due to the expansive nature of the game. It needed great lists and a great walkthrough, along with important boss strategies.
Too bad Jason Young did none of this. The lists are inaccurate and poorly done. He forgets some items entirely, and most of his descriptions are taken straight from the game. And don't even get me started on the walkthrough, as it's one of the poorest things I've seen in a long time. He'll forget how to explain how to get all of the items. He provides a list of them, then explains how to get about a quarter of them. Nice job. Plus, the guide is short and looks HORRIBLE. It's poorly organized, the font is crap, and the details in the walkthrough are lacking. There's very little included about side quests, and the game basics are laughable at last. Do me a favor and read my Legaia 2 guide at GameFAQs (under the name Psycho Penguin). You will get more information for free instead of paying money for this garbage.
- first of all...i truly don't recommend buying this book. It really doesn't help at all for most parts. Sure it got all the items and stuff but most of it, it doesn't tell you how to get them and the walk through are so lame....geesh
For those wishes to buy the book..all i can say is good luck getting your money worth
- For the money that is being charged for this item, it is better to just go on-line to any of the game stores and get a text walkthrough that is more accurate and easier to follow than this strategy guide.

4 comments about Threads of Fate Official Strategy Guide.
- Threads Of Fate is a really challenging game and many parts I thought were impossible. This really helped me through it.
- This book rocks. It's way better than anything else. Tim Cox is the best author ever. Thanks for such a great guide!!!
- Threads of Fate is the most entertaining game there is! With help from the strategy guide you can go through this game with ease. I also recommend this game for the girls who play(like me!). You have the choice of being a cute little boy who changes into animals or a girl with magical powers and a attitude to go with it. As I said before its fun and entertaing. Everyone should buy the guide and game!
- Threads of Fate is not a long, complex game by any stretch of the imagination, and I was honestly expecting the guide to reflect what I'm more accustomed to; a cursory overview of the two quests, the basic navigation and boss guides, and a list of hard-to-find items.
What I was pleasantly surprised by was the fact that not only does Tim Cox delve into the things one expects from the guide, but he also touches upon several of the things that make the 'real' Threads of Fate experience; the useless asides that you can engage in.
The game itself is highly linear in overall presentation, but what it benefits from is that, throughout, there are times when you can take a side-trip somewhere and have a miscellaneous conversation, or not engage in a certain battle and have the dialog change down the line, or else find a string of hidden conversations that add interest, if not vital information. Tim Cox does what many guides will not do, and actually explores the routes to some of these hidden gems, or makes notes about altered dialog trees. In reading the guide, he even reminded me of an alternate dialog path that I had long forgotten how to reach.
In short, it's a wonderfully constructed guide that touches upon thing that really make this game what it is, and I would recommend it not only to people who need the help, but to anybody who is a fan of the game itself. It's a real treat.

- This strategy guide tells a lot about Kirby 64 and is great it will be very helpful to you in trying to get all the crystals.
- This is a great strategy Guide for Kirby 64: the Crystal Shards, packed with detailed infor mation and combos.
- Kirby 64 : The Crystal Shards is a very complicated game that is truly a bit hard to master. But with another book in a series of Prima strategy guides will help you. This strategy guide is complete up to date and has everything from how to get all the shards and how to master Kirby's moves. It will teach how to successfully block, swallow, and destroy all the enemies the gamer will face.
Prima's guide will fully explain each of the 6 levels and the final boss level. Colorful pictures show where each and every single shard is. It even comes with a list of enemies an friends. Easily understandible and never a bore to read. The guide also explains each of Kirby's 30+ moves and tells you how to master them, use them, and vary them. This guide is definetly useful for anyone stuck on a level or boss or planet. With 6 planets and at least 3 levels on each plus a boss battle, most gamers will get stuck, but its time to get unstuck! Kirby 64 : The Crystal Shards : Prima Official Strategy Guide is a gamer's must have! To contact me please use the email address silver4000@go.com
- WOW! if you have Kirby 64 (like me!) you MUST order this! It will help you finish the game in no time! That's why I ordered it....
- This is an excellent, easily usable guide that helped my six-year-old Jackson and I collect all 100 shards and get to the end of the game...
Except that it's NOT the end of the game. There's one more level -- the Dark Star -- that isn't even mentioned in this guide! And since it's not mentioned, we were left on our own in defeating the final boss, O2 and officially beating the game. Which we did, of course.

3 comments about Tak: The Great Juju Challenge Official Strategy Guide (Official Strategy Guides (Bradygames)).
- Thanks for having this book online for me to order. It's really helping me with the game. I appreciate your service.
- The book is very helpful. The only down side is that the illustrations are extremely small and hard to view.
- This strategy guide is quite good and covers almost everything in the game but is not as complete as previous guides for other Tak games.

5 comments about Alone In The Dark: The New Nightmare: Prima's Official Strategy Guide.
- This is one of the many strategy guides by Prima and it definitely lives up to its name. Alone in the dark the new nightmare blows resident evil out of the water with its amazing fast-paced graphics and intruiging detailed and "pull you in" story line. With Prima's official strategy at your side you are ready for anything. As you take control of Edward Carnby or Aline Cedrac, you are faced by the minions of evil and the horrors that lie in the shadows. This guide has all the necessary tools for your survival in the mansion overtaken by evil on Shadow Island: -walkthroughs for BOTH characters. -complete character, monster, and item stats. -great training tips for enhanced playing. -exposed secrets, item locations and puzzle solutions. - and as an added bonus, it has the history of the Alone in the Dark series and behind-the-scenes look at the making of the game. Prima's guide sums up the term of excellence all game guides should have. This guide appeals to gamers of all ages, its extensive walkthroughs help each character unfold their destiny, and with all the exposed secrets and items, it will have you playing and guessing at every corner....NOT! With the revealing walkthrough you will know what is coming around every corner...but it'll still be scary trust me...the graphics make this game in a league of its own NOTHING yet so far can compare with this game, and with the strategy guide at your side as your extensive info companion, you'll be almost unstoppable...unless mom accidentally unplugs the playstation while plugging in the vaccuum...hope you saved! That's another good point...SAVE A LOT!!! and mark the page where you are in the guide...just incase it closes by accident...or was it Obed Morton??? Just kidding...this game will give you nightmares, well it makes sense since that's the title of the game..."its what you fear..." anyway I'm getting off the subject, (I'm playing the game right now, writing this review, AND looking at the strategt guide) well there you have it...get the game...then arm yourself with the power of knowledge with Prima's official strategy guide-"Alone in the Dark: the new nightmare."
- If I didn't get this book, I would probably still be stuck in the office trying to figure out how to get that darn projector to work! Thankfully, Prima came to the rescue! It's a good book that gives away ALL the secrets, so if you want to keep on guessing this book is for you! The grreat thing about it is that it gives you a lot more background info on characters and plot. The bad thing is that it is a little confusing as to the organization of the info...and their is a lot of information to organize! Overall a good strategy guide and worth it if you feel like giving up!
- You must buy this book if you want to finish the games. Both solutions to-the-finish are here for the Edward Carnby mission and the Aline Cedrac mission. All the secrets are here. You might even find some of your own. Item locations and what you need to get and what you need to do next is all here. There are over 1,110 photos of both games to help you get through each scene step by step. The skill and determination is up to you. It is possible to complete both missions. I highly recommend the book and buying a Playstation red, emerald or blue memory card for your Playstation PS One. You will get through Alone In The Dark: The New Nightmare game alot quicker. The book is helpful for all systems you play the game on.
- I picked this up at a game store for an insanely cheap price a few weeks ago. I don't get why it's going for over fifty bucks here at the Used & New section...I'll gladly sell mine to anyone who wants it and doesn't want to get ripped off.
Anyway, as a veteran of the AitD series I didn't think that the fourth one would be all that hard. The first two games were pretty easy (but still awesome) and could be completed in less than 40 minutes each. The third installment took much longer, and I even needed a guide for it to make sure I was doing everything right. But The New Nightmare just plain kicked my ass. Resident Evil and Silent Hill didn't scare me one bit (I think they try too hard), but AitD4 definately did. I could only play for 15 minutes at a time. Running around looking for an item I missed, not knowing if the hallways would have zombies or not messed with my head. That was back in the summer of 2002. Just a few weeks ago I finally found the guide and bought it without hesitation. Now I had the courage to take on that damn mansion and its creatures. This guide isn't "unorganized" as others have put it. I found it easy to follow along with. There may be an extra box or two on each page just to explain a little more about the monsters you encounter, so I don't get how that could throw anyone off. It gives you great strategies for not wasting precious ammo, and quick ways to do away with some of the peskier creatures. Both Carnby and Aline's sections are thorough and help perfectly. I doubt I could've went through the game without this guide. Go for it if you find it laying around somewhere, or just email me if you'd like it. Unlike the sissy and linear Resident Evil series, AitD4 has challenge, and requires you to use logic to take on some of the puzzles. Oh, and this seems to only cover the PlayStation version, but the PC and Dreamcast ones are the exact same, only have much better graphics. So this works with all variations of AitD4.
- I totally got ripped off buying it here. I don't know much about game guides but I bought this book because I was desperate to get past a certain monster (in the beginning of the game no less!!!). Without it I never would have known that I had missed picking up the triple barrel shot gun that I needed to dispatch the nasty litle booger!!! I looked at the price and knowing it was rediculous I purchased it anyway. I've seen this book for $50 so I figured maybe they were rare or out of print. I paid for expidited shipping and it still took 10 days to get to me and the worst part was that it arrived with a $7.99 price tag on it under the $29.99 one!!! That just pissed me off! Other than that little rant the guide is great and I highly reccomend buying it. Check your local Game Crazy store if you have one near you before shelling out the big bucks!!!
