5 comments about The Sims Bustin' Out (Prima's Official Strategy Guide).
  1. If you are anything like me and aren't an ace with Video games but adore the Sims. Then you'll want this guide. This game has a lot of different goals you must attain to gain items/clothes/actions. Sometimes those things determine your progress in the game. As in certain goals allow you to go to different places Club/Gym/Etc.

This guide tells you a lot of the information about the game itself even with information on how other Sims react to your actions. I play this game in stages and it's nice to have this guide to help me discover hidden items that you are supposed to search for or who to talk to accomplish certain things.

This book had enough information to help me learn the best way for me to play the game.

Now for the only thing I found lacking was a bit more description or hints for what is best to have or sell once you've completed skills, etc.

There are certain things that once you acquire them you'll want to have in all of the houses such as the Miss Gyrotic, the Gourmet stove and Hellagraphix (all items that have to be unlocked). Once you have these items it makes pleasing your Sims much easier.

Luckily this guide tells you were those items are and how to gain them.

For a game guide I find this one very thorough and I'm glad I have it to go with my game.

I highly recommend it if you own or are planning on buying the Sims Bustin out game. Also even if you just rent it it's worth the $12 for the book

  2. I would deifinitely recommend this game to anyone who isn't video game whiz. It has many, many helpful hints, tips, and strategies. To make a long story short, this book has been extremely helpful to me, and will be very profitable to all you Sim lovers out there!

  3. If you have never played the Sims' games, for computers or consoles, then this book will be quite helpful. The little instruction manual in the book was NOT good. This guide helps get you on track!

  4. I purchased this guide day-before-yesterday at my local Wal-Mart, and I must say that I am incredibly satisfied. The guide provided a quick and easy tutorial for the game. This guide tells you how to improve your relationships with Sims, it includes a guide for the GBA version of the game as well as the GCN-PS2-XBOX version, a dizzying catalog of every object in the game, detailed descriptions of jobs and careers, and practically everything else that you need to know! A special section for GCN-GBA connectivity adds to the value. All in all, a must-buy if you are getting the game.

  5. This stratgy guide is a must if you play this game.It has details on every career path, pictures and details of every NPC Character Sim and Objects, all unlockables and what you have to satisfy to get to each location. The guide is wrong about one thing thou.It says you can marry an Npg sim.You can't.You can only marry a sims on free street 1,2 or a sim you create on free street 3 to marry.Once you open up free street to visit you can visit them and either get up to relationship or freindship status with them then leave and call them and invite them over but make sure you put a phone in their house so you can call them.If there is a paticular sim you like in bustout mode you want to marry you can create one in free mode to look like him or her. That's what I did.I created one and made her look like Goldie one of the Npg sims but getting back to the guide this is a must have it will make the game a lot easier. If you don't have this guide you can get them used thru one of the sellers here.

5 comments about Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation: Prima's Official Strategy Guide.
  1. This book is a "must have" to get through this game. I would have given up on the game long ago without it! The problem is when you get to Alexandria, you need the revolver and the book doesn't tell how to get it. I haven't found it but I found an alternative way to shoot the targets: Put wide shot ammo in your shotgun and the equip yourself with the grenade launcher. Slide down the ramp to the target area and jump up and fire the grenade launcher. This will get all lower targets. Immediately grab your shotgun and jump to shoot the remaining three targets. With luck, you will get all targets and receive the token for the trouble.

  2. THIS GAME IS FILLED WITH CHALLENGING LEVELS AND PUZZLES. BATTLE NEW AND OLD ENEMIES. BUT OVERCOME IT ALL WITH PRIMAS TOMB RAIDER THE LAST REVELATION STRATEGY GUIDE. IN DEPTH STRATEGY GUIDE FROM THE FIRST TO LAST LEVEL TO AN ANCIENT BAD GUY. CONQUER ALL THE PUZZLES DEFEAT ALL THE ENEMYS AND MAKE IT BACK TO ENGLAND FOR TEA WITH HELP FROM PRIMAS STRATEGY GUIDE.

  3. As has already been noted, one of the biggest and most glaring problems with this guide is when it instructs you to equip a Revolver that you don't have. Specifically, when you reach the Coastal Ruins, the guide instructs you to "quickly equip the Revolver with LaserSight." The thing is, you don't have one because the revolver isn't available until much later in the game, when you reach the City of the Dead. (Where the guide states that you can "pick up a Revolver, if you don't have it already." Of course, you wouldn't have it already because it's not possible to get it before then.) The trick, actually, is to equip either the Crossbow to fire at the targets, follow the strategy another reviewer stated of using the grenade launcher followed by the shotgun, or load a super grenade into the grenade launcher and then one blow can take out all nine targets.

If this was the only problem, then perhaps the guide would still be worthwhile. This guide, however, also completely misses out on many cool secrets. This is absolutely insane, as the spine states "ALL SECRETS REVEALED." Yet it misses two very easy secrets at the beginning of the Valley of the Kings, making this a blatant lie!

Edit--- okay, so now I realize that the book actually does reveal all secrets- *in a separate section in the book of the book that isn't mentioned anywhere in the course of the normal text!* How, I ask, is that helpful? (Which means, of course, that they stuck in some time after they were originally finished writing the guide, just so they could claim on the cover, "All Secrets Revealed." Sorry, doesn't wash.)

Add in descriptions that often confusing (despite provided photos) and you have a guide that, while it may get you through the game, is definitely not worth of the title of "Prima's Official Strategy Guide." Don't buy this strategy guide. Instead, just locate one of the many walkthroughs available online. Not only are you more likely to get complete information because site readers can e-mail in if the guide-writer misses something, but you can also check against other walkthroughs to make sure you're not missing anything. The only problems I see with this is if you must have something to hold in your hands (you could print one, if you don't mind using up printer ink, or you have a hookup where you can print stuff for free), or if you don't have Internet access (in which case you wouldn't be reading this.)

  4. Tells you absolutely everything! And, as far as what the guy above said, the book does in fact tell you how to get the revolver WAY before it tells you to use it.

It helped me tremendously as far as giving me the ability to see what it was they where telling me to do via the pictures.

    I would definitely recommend it!

  5. A very helpful book.
It gives all the best true information as possible. The walkthrough is nice because it tells you what you have to do in each level via every screenshot.
The best thing about this book is that it has a seperate section
at the end as a guide on how to find all 70 secrets .
But the only 'bad thing' is the part on getting the revolver. I mean it clearly says in ''Coastal ruins'' that you need a revolver to shoot something. Only problem is we cannot find it, until later in the level .

2 comments about The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth (Prima Official Game Guide).
  1. I purchased The Lord of The Rings, That Battle For Middle-earth PC and the Prima Official Game Guide this week. The game is everything I had hoped it would be: Challenging, Beautiful, Epic, and just plain fun. If you are huge Real Time Strategy (RTS) fan, the game may not strike a tune with you. Why? The game mechanics are pretty much what you'd expect from any Warcraft inspired RTS: Build Base, Harvest Resources, Build Units, Invade...wash and repeat. But, if you are a Lord of the Rings fan, like I am, you'll love the cinematic battles, dazzling special effects, and "just one more battle" late night gaming sessions!

That being said, the Prima Game Guide is equally impressive. Though not as thick and heavy as the Prima Guide for the Sims2, the Battle For Middle-earth Game Guide is still suprising well done. Each page is in full color, printed on glossy paper, and full of insider tips, unit details, and battle walk-throughs. A fold out map of Middle-earth, also in full color printed on card-stock paper, is included, but, sadly, the map is only sparsely labled and pretty generic. This Prima Game Guide trumps the last one I purchased, the Rome Total War Prima Game Guide, which was printed on cheap paper and entirely in black and white.

In conclusion, I strongly recommend both The Battle For Middle-earth, the PC game, and the Prima Game Guide. Enjoy!

  2. I bought the Battle for Middle Earth without ever having played in RTS games in my life. So, even though I thoroughly enjoyed the game, I had a hard time trying to figure out what was more important to be doing. This guide helped me out tremendously as far as knowing what to build and when, and explaining Powers and Evenstar Powers better, and many other things that I didn't quite understand in the game. It has tons a great pictures and lots of helpful hints and gives you a VERY THOROUGH explanation of all the game elements - which was great to read because I found the manual that came with the game to be very vague and lacking in detail.

Sure, there are walk-throughs with strategies and maps of all the 30-some places you fight your way through, but I haven't looked at those just yet - I like to try and figure things out for myself, but it's nice to know if I keep having trouble, I can go to it.

One thing I love about this book is that it doesn't take away from the thrill of the game by telling you everything you need to do; it just offers strategy suggestions. So, you can read this entire book and know that you haven't been given a complete walk-thru to spoil your fun.

So, if you have found the manual to the game to be very confusing and lacking in detail explaining things and you have never played a RTS (Real-Time Strategy) game before, this is definitely your book and you will not be disappointed.

  1. This is one game I despised, this was a Diablo rip-off, of the worse kind, got rid of this game and book after plodding through a couple of levels, stupid, stupid game!!! What the heck are you supposed to do with blubber, whoever designed this game should bury his head in the books and get a different job, because game design surely isn't his talent.

  2. The book is awsome, the game is very unique the above person has a strange yet seemingly RETARDED taste.Hell that person didnt even give the game a chance, Its not a rip off from diablo, just cuz its 2-d iscometric and it has spells and swords dosent meen its a d2 rip off so the book reaaaaly helps.Beleive me try the game its cheap, escpeacailly if you play online, you get TOTAL freedom to go where you want when you want, when you get tired of crafting items, leveling up, joining other clans, collecting metals for parts, maxing out or hacking spells to awsome numbers, discovering new places in ToD's HUGE world then you can even say somthing, that person barely saw the beggining of a game, which shows a TRUE loser of a player, the book was great the game was great if you like ultima online or diablo 2 you will like this.

  1. The book gives alot of help to those who are stuck in some of the very challanging parts of the game. Even though there are many cheats for the game (not nessecarilly in the book) the stragity guide helps alot. So if your stuck and need some help or even just a clue I would say to get it.

3 comments about Kessen: Prima's Official Strategy Guide.
  1. When I first played Kessen, I was stuck on the very first level. I had to tried several times to beat the first level and when I did I got stuck on the second level. It was very difficult for me. However, when I got the guide, I was able to try out some of its strategies that I never knew. It was excellent. When I performed the startegies presented in the book, I was able to beat the first few levels with ease. Another reason to get this guide is that its character bios are very interesting and useful. There also quite a few pictures in there. If you get stuck on this game, get this guide and it should help you.

  2. This game was hard about at the third level. But With the guide it was easy as pie. Also i found how to get all battles on it.

  3. Well I found out the hard way that YOU DON'T REALLY NEED THIS BOOK. not saying the book is bad, but the game is kinda easy. I say that because this is my first strategy game and I aced it easy matter of fact I had no idea what I was doing till about a third in the game. So if you have a little bit of inteligence (which of course you do because you got a PS2 and shop on Amazon) try to play it without the book first. I have faith in you. plus the book just shows you "Their" stratagy.

  1. An absolute jem. A must for all Ultima fans

  2. Good book, I liked it even though there wasnt much for newbies, however I am not a Newbie so I Liked it

  3. Paying an extra $15-$20 for a Guide, you would think that you would find answers to your questions. Too much editorial, not enough helpful hints. What do the switches in Covetous level 1 do? How many skill points in smithing do I need before I can smelt agapite ore? These are the questions that all of us face, but that nobody, most notably this book, have answered.

  4. This book will help you on your way threw the roll-playing adventure that the makers of Ultima On-Line have created. Without this book there is a very big chance that you will get lost in the very large world of UO.

  5. This book is great! The only downside is that it is not for newbies but that's ok because im not one.
