1. I was intrigued when I read about the elric saga on wikipedia, and for the life of me could not find any of the books, so I decided to buy the RPG.
   It gives you a good sense of whats going on without ruining the books and short stories. I finally did find the first Volume, stealer of souls at a Waldens. And I must say that This RPG product didnt ruin anything for me as far as story goes.
   The Lay out is neat and clean and I didnt notice any errors. However, the book is in black and white, which i dont mind, but others might. The binding was horrible. Pages where too big tot be bound to the spine they gave it, so the first half of the book lays bent. The back the of the book wasnt even attached. I had to use clear packing tape to seal it so it would shut properly and look right.
   I didnt bother to return my copy as it was all cosmetic damages that could be easily over looked. Even in stores where I have seen this book, these are common defects I noticed.
   The game itself uses the Runequest system. Its basically the same system that Chaosium uses for Call of Cthulhu. The System seems solid and is very different from d20 and seems to allow much more freedom, since the game doesnt use classes. However, your characters are alot weaker than the standard d20 character. This system is great for gritty fantasy combat.



2. I have read and own other versions of Elric RPGs (including Elric! and Stormbringer 5th Edition and the AD&D Deities and Demigods that had the Melnibonean Myths included) and found most of them a bit put offish. An attitude of superiority based on a series of stories that were good (and groundbreaking in concept) but not amazingly good. I hated the Stormbringer 5E Elric with a 880% to hit ability and so forth (it was so bad that he got a critical on like 95% of his rolls) and outrageously high damage totals. But this book makes the world of the Young Kingdoms and even Melnibone and Elric accessable and "realistic Characters". I give it a 4 mainly because I think the setting is hard to adventure in as it is a setting designed for Elric's quest and destiny and running the game in the time of Elric gives the players and sense of impending doom that we cant alter and running it before Elric takes the players to a time they are not familiar with. More "made up" background and information for the world would be nice so players can escape the shadow of Elric.

1. Ok first off its a detailed book on the God Learners empire, thats about it, nothing really that useful, no NPC's of note and not even a fold out color map of Justela, why???
   
   When will they start putting some maps out for Glorantha, I dont get it...If your looking for a campaign region like I was, stear clear its not that good for that.
