2 comments about *OP Mediums: Speakers with the Dead.
- This is a fine resource for mediums, much better than the Quick and the Dead. The systems stuff is vastly improved, with a battery of new merits and flaws for mediums that I actually found useful (and can be used to supplement or replace the hedge magic paths for interacting with wraiths). There is some good stuff on summoning, a large section on Native American medicine men and shamanic dealings with the dead, a fresh look at many of the old ghost-dealing groups, and a new ability for those people who have had enough with wraiths shouting in their ears.
- This book is well-written and covers a vast scope. Contrary to what the title might lead you to believe, this book covers a lot more than just plain mediums. In fact, it offeres detailed information on just about any faction in the Skinlands that might interact with the Restless Dead: "Boardwalk mediums" found at carnivals and circuses the ruthless Giovanni vampires, even charlatans and frauds who possess no real talent, but manage to offend wraiths with their very presumption and chicanery.
This book is definitely worth the purchase price- it will enrich virtually any Wraith chronicle.

1 comments about Dark Inheritance (d20 Fantasy Roleplaying, Modern Era).
- This review is coming from a veteran rpg'er.
This supplement campaign world to Wizards' D20 Modern core rules is great. It gives complete, balanced rules for playing characters that are like their human brothers, but have a genetic link to the gods of the past. Not only are new regular/prestige/advanced classes, new feats, new occupations, new items, etc etc etc given, powers of the titans(the god-gene inheritors) are given for each distinct legacy. What may be best about this book is the complete background history and state of the world and organizations that are competing for control and knowledge of the events that led to the formation of this campaign world. I don't want to give everything away, so you'll have to buy the book to find out more. I HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone that wants to play a campaign in a world abruptly changed by an event that unleashes great powers onto an unsuspecting modern world.

2 comments about Tribebook: Red Talons.
- Red Talons. You may not think they're the best tribe in the World of Darkness given to you by White Wolf, but this book shows the Garou through the Talons' eyes- and how extreme they are when it comes to dealing with humans- they spoke out against stopping the Impergium! The Tribebook is very well done, giving you what you'd expect in any tribebook- gifts, rites, camps in the tribe, a history of it, etc. This book goes beyond what would normally be expected- I found myself loving the Red Talons by the time I was finished, and the book made it a lot easier for me to 'think' and mentally 'see' how I would roleplay as a Lupus of any breed, besides. Definitely a must-have, even if you're not fond of the Talons initially. You'll wind up loving them.
- The authors of this tribebook did what they could for this tribebook. However, the tribe by its nature limited what could be done for the book. The history of the tribe is limited, and the archetypes are uninspiring. It does a good job relating what it is like to be a lupus, but that's its only real credit, asides from the typical "crunchy bits".

1 comments about *OP Princes Primer (Vampire Series : the Masquerade).
- Well, it's possible that I didn't read this book as thoroughly as I thought I did, but I don't remember ANY sex or B-movie stuff. I seem to remember a fairly interesting exploration of what it means to be a Prince in the Camarilla, including quotes from Machiavelli....I recommend this for anyone who is NOT a hack and slash fan, somebody who actually role-plays and is interested in the political side of V:tM.

5 comments about Clanbook: Salubri (Vampire, the Dark Ages).
- Long are the nights, and full of death and hatred. But there is a clan that rather engages in healing and helping than murder and destruction. This clan, whose members are rarely seen, is Salubri, the clan of Saulot's childer. Saulot, gentle Saulot, first vampire to achieve Golconda. Saulot, merciful Saulot, who was murdered through betrayal and treachery. Saulot, angellike Saulot, who will be the fate of the Ba'ali.
translation from a tablet, suspected to be part of the Book of Nod Uther Algaan, Assamite Elder - yes, even assasins have an education, you brainless Tremere warlock !
- While taking place in the dark ages, the information on the Salubri is far better than what you'll find in any of the other Vampire books. Most of the information explains the attitudes of the Salubri towards their fellow (and rival) clans as well as exactly what goes into the background of one of these enigmatic vampires. Also, the clan's history and possible ties to the (literally) demonic Baali clan are presented as well. I found it to be a great source for even modern characters, as the attitude of defending and healing the weak hasn't really gone out of style. Now, if they'd only come out with a modern-day clanbook.
- These are one of the most powerful clans in vampire the Masquerade. But they have been small in numbers for so long that you have to go back to the dark ages to be one. This book has a very good background story for the salubri. Lets you in a few sercrets never before heard of until this was released.
- I'm gonna have to get this book sometime. I have always been intrested in the smaller clans; salubri, cappadocian, and kiasyd are all real cool.
By the old rules there are only 8 salubri alive at a time but now since they are part of the sabbat I'm not sure. I have read through the Book of Nod and I don't remember the passage from the previous reviewer but it did talk about saulot being baal's brother and betraying him to Cain when he started his demon worshipping. Ohh well I hope they come out with a revised Salubri book.
- Something that explains the how and why behind the Childer of Saulot. Most interesting. The explination of the split of Valeren into the warrior aspect (antitribu's Valeren) and it's healing aspect (main-not considering numbers-power Obeah) The mystery about the Baali intrueges me. I can only say that Saulot must have been closer to Malkav, not just in the physical sense, but in the MENTAL sense. The clan was splitting before the Tremere ever came along, much like Saulot's mind........

5 comments about Munchkins Guide to Power Gaming (Steve Jackson Games).
- When we started our Shadowrun campaign last year, the GM mentioned that he'd be watching for people who took Phobia: Man-Made Satellites. I, being a relative novice at munchkinization, asked why, and he pointed me to this book.
I've actually had this for a while, but it is, by far, the single funniest book I've seen or read in years. The basic setup is pretty straightforward. There's a chapter on general munchkin strategies, and them specific strategies for fantasy, modern, sci-fi, horror, supers, and live-action games. There is also a section on dealing with munchkin players, intended for the GM. There's even a quiz to tell you how munchkin you are, and how bad your players are. Is there useful stuff in there? Depends on your definition of useful, but it's all funny, and the GM section does give somewhat useful strategies. But, it is side-splittingly funny. The first time I ever read it, my sides hurt from laughing so hard. If you get a chance, read it...it's great.
- Having owned this book since it came out, I can heartily recommend this book.
Having a lot of experience in gaming, I read through and could see where the author was coming from. Every incident he described, I had seen, every tactic in that book has been tried, and every ridiculous excuse and strategy has been done, and worked before. Side splittingly funny in itself, it is twice as damaging to your laughter muscles if you have a long experience with those annoying players who we unfondly call "munchkins"

- if you expect to come out of this book a better person. Forget. If you want a good laugh. Then by all means get this book!
- I've been a fan of the D&D spoof game "Munchkin" for a long time. It's got to be one of my all-time favorites! Whenever my friends and I get together we play it, and it always ends up with everyone rolling around laughing. This book is written along the same lines (published by Steve Jackson Games I believe) and is just as funny! Anyone who has an understanding of what AD&D is like will love it, even if they have never heard of the "Munchkin" game. I had a great time reading it, and I bought it for several of my friends as birthday gifts recently! Great read, well worth the price!! Would recommend to any gamer!

- I appriceated the way it tells you how to get out of a fix. It explains for example that when you climb twinpeak mountain to find Jon it explains the directions. Some guids just say climb twinpeak and go to Jon. But I wish it would give better atack stratagies and not just say how to defeat the foe.

2 comments about Pharaoh (Advanced Dungeons and Dragons module I3).
- One of the most respected AD&D adventures of all time, this one marks Tracy & Laura Hickman's entry to the TSR fold. Later, due to the dramatic plotting exhibited here, they would be asked to help create a series of novels and modules known as Dragonlance... the spirit of Amun-re swirls before you in the sands, beseeching you to plunder his tomb. Why? And how can anyone but the nomads survive in this savage desert where giant spiders burrow in the sands, the sun blasts the earth to crystal, and the efreeti reign supreme? Well, that's not my problem, I'll let your players handle that... :) An extremely challenging classic for levels 5-7.
- Ok so we are a bunch of nerds in my family and grew up playing D&D. Our father was even a DM for NANCON several years. So when my oldest brother expressed an interest in finding some of these older D&D items I started hunting and found this book. He said it is in great condition just as the seller promised!
