5 comments about God of War (Prima Official Game Guide).
- This is highly addictive action adventure game that will make you lose track of time. This game is an instant classic with unbeatable graghics. It also has a good storyline and suprise twists all this way until the end of the game. I highly recommend it to the mature gamer.

- This book is EVERY detail you'll ever need to play this game. Game is so intricate, you'd miss so much without it.
- I ordered this new direct from amazon because of the great ratings on the included DVD, however, after an extremely long wait, the DVD wasn't included with the guide, so I ordered a replacement copy, same problem! I ended up buying a used one because amazon couldn't supply it. At least they offered me a refund and return postage. Overall a great guide if you can find one with the DVD.
- where have you been that you dont own this one and finsihed it twice yet lol a game both genders can love go get it now so you can get and finish GOWII lol
- After finding more extensive walkthroughs online I regretted spending the money on this book. Could have bought a game. It is a very well done, glossy book. There are maps and explainations of weapons etc. The game is fantastic and this is a great collectable companion. However. It's not necessary in playing the game. As I mentioned before. You can get walkthrough and other information on the web.

5 comments about Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty Official Strategy Guide.
- I have to say say than when I get stuck this helps me out a lot. Thanks Bradygames.
- I'll be honest with you. This book is designed really well. It is one of two BradyGames books right now in the "Signature" series -- strategy guides that feature higher-quality paper, very well-designed walkthroughs, and an extra like a poster. Unlike other guides, you don't get lost in all the small text trying to figure out where you were reading when you last looked up from the book. The strategy actually goes guard-by-guard, so you can use it if you're stuck trying to get past a specific guard, or you can use it to walk you through the whole game.
The reason I gave this guide four out of five stars is because it really only contains the minimum information you need to complete the game. Sure, there are blurbs about secrets and stuff, but I just didn't get the feeling that this was a book chock full of "insider's info" on MGS2.
- I was almost finished with Metal Gear Solid 2 when I stopped playing for almost a year. When I went to play again, I realized that I didn't remember the story that well and I didn't remember the layout of the area I was in. I decided to restart the game, but this time use a guide to make sure that I don't miss any items and to quickly get through the areas I had already played. Since this was the only guide available, I picked it up.
Some reviews of this guide make mention that the guide is not actually needed to complete the game and that simply playing the game is all the strategy that one needs. That may very well be, but I don't think that applies in reviewing the guide. What matters is that the guide has all of the necessary information required to complete the game and not miss any items and that it includes tips on how to beat the bosses. This guide has all of that and is very valuable in completing the game. While many things can be discovered by trial and errors, this guide will get you through the game with no trouble (the only trouble may come in actually applying the strategies to beat a boss). The most valuable aspect of this guide comes in that it details on a map the patrol patterns of the guards. Knowing in advance how far a guard will patrol is very useful in planning your path though the level. If capturing the dog tags from the soldiers is important to you (and if you want the bonus items, it should be important), the guide provides useful strategies on how to get every dog tag in the game (on normal mode). I tried out some of them, and it worked just as the guide suggested. I wasn't that interested in collecting the dog tags my first time completing the game, so I didn't spend the time to collect them all. As far as I could tell, the strategies were spot on. One thing I should mention is that the strategies to get the dog tags and for beating the game apply to the normal difficulty setting. Since some things change on the higher difficulty levels, the guide is probably not as useful for mastering the game on the highest difficulty. Using this guide for the normal difficulty level, this is an excellent guide that will take you through the game and not spoil and story points. If you feel you need a guide for Metal Gear Solid 2, this one is well worth your money.
- This guide is the most helpful when you are stuck at a certain place in the game that seems impossible to get past!!! The guide is in-depth and simple at the same time. If your stuck then this guide is for you. (this guide is CHEAP and easy to buy to help you)
- If you want to play this game with a strategy guide, then your best option is to forget Bradygames and Prima, because authorisedcollection has a much much more detailed and thorough explanation of the game. I had a look at the reviews that 4 or 5 stars are put, they just didn't know what real strategy guide should look at. If you want to have the ranking of the legendary "Big Boss" in the game, go try authorisedcollection guide, otherwise you are just wasting your time playing this game. I'm not trying to offend Bradygames and Prima, but authorisedcollection series the best.
If you are a Final Fantasy fan, go and compare guides from authorisedcollection and bradygames and you will know what I meant above.

3 comments about Mensa Absolutely Nasty Sudoku Level 3 (Mensa).
- I finally found a sudoku puzzle that can't be done in an hour. An awesome book.
- I finally found some really difficult sudoku - they take time! But from the write-up I was expecting to get some explanations on how to solve using the more complicated techniques. It would also be nice if the answers included reference to which of the more difficult techniques were used to solve them.
- Mensa Absolutely Nasty Sudoku Level 3 (Mensa)
I like to think of myself as a sudoku whiz and this book has me humbled. It's difficult but not impossible. It's a matter of patience and logic that will win the day against these absolutely nasty puzzles.

5 comments about Chess Exam and Training Guide: Tactics: Rate Yourself and Learn How to Improve.
- I loved this book. I could hardly put it down! You do all the problems, and fill out the graphs at the end (no cheating! you have to be honest). Then when you get is a scientific report of your strengths and weaknesses in different areas of chess. It's uncanny how accurrate this is. The best thing is you know where you need to focus your training, and he gives you advice for that. If you are interested in improvement, then this is a must.
- This contains an extremely well selected set of 120 questions. Unlike typical "Find the best move" books, the author gives 2 questions for each position and 4 multiple choice answers. None of the problems are simple, and force you to think deeply before answering, looking for every possible resource from both sides. The answer explanations are very instructive as well. You can't go wrong with this book, it will tell you what your stength is and which tactical theme/technique you need to improve.
- This book really helps to know how good/bad you are in Chess. Everyone will feel that Igor Khmelnitsky invested tremendous effort to make this book. This book comprises 120 questions to assess different levels of your chess knowledge. The good thing about this book is when you go through it and finish your exams and know your scores you will be amazed by the accuracy of the test. With this test and his recommendations everyone can play better chess after this. I found its very useful book even for beginners (like me) to assess their weakness and strength and improve further. Worth of buying it, highly recommended.
- This book has really helped me determine which areas I am strong and which I need to improve in. I am a 1550 level player and have been at this level for over a year. I wasn't able to figure our why I could not beat stronger players but after reading this book I am now much clearer.
They have very simple pictures and very easy to read information , unlike lots of chess books out there.
This will help everybody who is looking to got one notch above where they currently are. Lessons in Tactics, counter attacks, strategies, defense are all very well given. Also very easy to follow. I recommend this to everybody who wants to play better chess.
- I haven't finished working my way through the test positions yet, however, I've seen enough to reccommend this book to anyone trying to improve their game. The positions are challenging. It enables you to isolate and identify gaps in knowledge so your efforts are more focused. I'd like to see more books like it.

4 comments about Disc Golf: All You Need to Know About the Game You Want to Play.
- This is a compact little book that covers everything you need to know about disc golf, including disc selection, throwing tips and techniques, course etiquette, and more. Also it includes information about disc golf organizations, characteristics of individual disc brands, and even a chapter on the "zen of disc golf." It's a fast read but is full of information. It's worth buying just for the chapters on disc grips and throws for all types of situations. Carry it along with you and improve your game.
- I got this for my dad for Christmas. He said he has looked everywhere for a book on Disc Golf and was unable to find one. He LOVES this one. He said it is filled with quick, easy tips and info.
Thanks!!!
- just picking up the sport? dont trust yer friend, no matter how long he's been playing. You need to learn a good grip, a good stance, and shot selection that is right for you. This book helped me get started after my good friend, who is a serious player (and money winner) tried to just show me. His discs and windup were killing me. after ONE read i tried out some standard practices and was throwing consistantly. This is a great book to have if you want to keep rules handy and see guides on foot placement and grip etc. there are some fluffy parts that you can ignore, but they are to flesh out what could be a solid 10 pages. its worth the money.
- This is the only book on disc golf that I have and it has really helped my game a lot. The most important thing that I learned from this book is that you do not throw a disc golf disc like you throw a Frisbee! This is very important to remember. I have always been a very good Frisbee player but found that I was having lots of trouble throwing a disc golf disc straight and level or to even get any distance from them. This book helped me fix those problems. I still do not throw perfectly every time but at least now when I screw up a throw I have an idea of what I did wrong.
This book goes over the history of the sport which is very interesting and covered pretty well. It also covers the basic rules and customs of the game so you will not look like a fool when playing with more experienced players. Most importantly for me is that this book covers most of the different kinds of throws that you will see in the game and each throw is broken down into its basic elements (grip, approach, release, etc.). What I did not like and why I did not give it 5 stars, was that the drawing were not as clear as I would have liked. I found myself rereading the descriptions about things like how to grip the disc for a certain type of throw over a few times and wishing there were a few pictures showing a real hand holding the disc from a few different angles.
This book also has a funny chapter on the Tao of disc golf which get funnier once you get more experience playing the sport.
To sum up I would recommend this book for anyone starting out in the sport or for anyone like me that has been playing for a year or so with little real guidance as to how to improve their play.

5 comments about Second Life: The Official Guide.
- Book was what it was advertised to be. Full of easy to understand instructions. Excellent buy.
- Sure, sure, second life - what is that? Well, take it from someone older than 21 by many years, this is the best game around! Thanks to my daughter and son-in-law, I can shop, dance, party, meet new friends, and never leave my home! Check out this great addition to the Second Life Scene.
- Very good starter book for the absolute newbie. Really helps to get on and start having fun.
- I face this book (and the many others like it) from a different point of view... if you need a book first to find your way around in SL, you better should not be there at all. Every user with a little but of mind will not need it. On this specific title it also annoyed me to see, that knowing second life, I partially see this as a clique of SL veterans celebrating themself... always the same names.
Just go there instead. look around, use your eyes and mind. Look at the menues. Save the money for the book amd use it to settle in SL instead...
- I think this book is great for learning the basics, for understanding how Second Life works, and for gaining a flavour of what awaits you.
But, as is often pointed out, such guides are very quickly out of date. And what it doesn't give you, is a real insight into what really goes on every day in-world.
For this, you need to check out the free guide to Second Life, The AvaStar (www.the-avastar.com). It's an online newspaper covering the news, business, fashion, travel, entertainment and events of the virtual world, and every week publishes a 'Guide to...' feature, focusing on the best places to go in-world.
If you read through the paper once, you'll immediately gain an excellent understanding as to what is going on in the world. (All the back issues are available to download for free at the website).
Good luck and have fun!

5 comments about Fiendish Codex I: Hordes of the Abyss (Dungeons & Dragons d20 3.5 Fantasy Roleplaying Supplement).
- Outside of the campaign setting books, their hasn't been much quality descriptive material from WotC. Generally, have stuck to mechanics and this has worked well from them. Honestly, when I heard of this book I assumed it was going to be another hodgepodge of feats, spells and PrCs glued together by some "generic to the point of being antiseptic" fluff. It, for better or worse, is not.
What this book gives you is a short primer on Demons and what they are about, some demon related mechanics, some setting information on the Abyss and some new monsters. This would all be good except there is so little of each that the book really doesn't get the job done. We sort of get the reverse of what was expected, a hodgepodge of description glued together by random mechanics. This is not to say the book is without charm. Some of the monsters of interesting and some of the description is inspiring, but it is extremely lean on content in an already thin book.
- i dont do reviews but this book has plenty of 411 for player and dm
alike
- Demons just aren't that complex. Lots of stuff here if you like demons. If you're not going to run a campaign centered around them, skip this. If you're going to run a game centered around them, there are new demons here, updates to old ones, history, etc.
The cover on mine was upside down.
- If you are a DM of higher level games and need some seriously nasty beasties to toss at your adventuring crew, then this book will foot the bill.
- This book is very useful. Anyone facing the forces of chaos and evil (Or running them) will find this useful. Also, finally there are good stats for yocholols for 3.5e.

5 comments about Break the One-Armed Bandits.
- I laughed so hard at certain chapters in this book that my sides hurt. I also learned a great deal about how the slots work and their history. There are some excellent strategies in this book as well. Definitely a book worth buying.
- I have read just about every book on slots but I resisted buying this one because I thought the information would be old and stale. Now having read it I have to agree with other reviewers that just about all slot books "borrow" heavily from Scoblete's work and are nowhere near as comprehensive. The book is a masterpiece of research and it is well written and extremely fun to read. I recommend this as the first and only slot stop you'll need before you try your hand at the one-armed bandits.
- I am not crazy about playing slots--but to get free room at the Venetian (LV) I need to put in hours each day, each visit. The Scoblete book is the most informative overall I've read so far on a subject where random chance is the rule. The chapter about which slots are loose was probably good advice--but people don't hear coins falling into the hopper any more--coins have been replaced with paper receipts. Paper payoffs also skew the advice in that excellent chapter on money management. These days most people deposit bills, not coins, into the slot machine and there is no bucket of coins to use or to reserve. Mr. Scoblete needs to revise this book. If he still gambles, I'm sure his well-thought 1994 guidelines would benefit from updating. I would be first on line to buy the new book. The organization and research of "One-Armed Bandit" are outstanding.
- I found this to be extremely interesting reading, as well as entertaining and informative. I don't think any of the tips and tricks in ANY slot machine book will apply at "Indian Reservation" casinos, but this book is a must read for any fan of Jersey, Vegas, Mississippi, or other non-reservation casinos.
- I bought this book few days ago. I finished reading in a day. This book spent most of the time telling stories about gamblers but not the method to win a jackpot. The author does not have much experience in playing jackpot machine, he merely did some interview with real gamblers and casino employee. There is no pictures, no facts or figure to illustrate. In my opinion, It can only be consider as a easy to read book on jackpot. Do not expect to win anything after reading it.
